I joined ASP while I was recovering from a shoulder injury. Jack designed a program to help with the shoulder as well as to improve functional mobility for playing squash. The program was holistic, targeting also the smaller, less used, muscles and often pushed me but never left me sore. Jared and Dominique were great at monitoring and assisting with the workouts and always ensured that my form was good. Within a month I saw a marked improvements in my shoulder and could also see results in mobility.
I would highly recommend trying them out.

I came to Accelerate for help identifying the source of shoulder pain I had been experiencing for the past 18 months. Jack identified the issue and designed a program for me, and in a very short time, I experienced a significant reduction in pain and increased mobility. These guys know their stuff.

Training with Jack and Jared at AccelerateSP has been a turning point for my fitness and overall well-being. I’d dealt with years of on-and-off IT band and plantar fasciitis pain - it got to the point where I couldn’t even run a quarter mile without having to stop. I’d been through physical therapy before, which helped temporarily, but the pain always came back once I tried to increase my mileage. As someone who maintains a very active lifestyle, I felt stuck.
Since joining Accelerate, the consistent, personalized training has helped me build strength and stability in a way I hadn’t been able to before. After taking a break from running for a few months, I’ve now worked back up to 7-mile runs—pain-free and farther than I’ve gone in over six years. While I used to run regularly, I was always hesitant to increase my mileage out of fear of injury. Now, I feel stronger, more resilient, and more confident in my body than ever. Jack and Jared have also been great about modifying and adapting workouts whenever new aches or injuries come up, which has helped me stay consistent and avoid setbacks. I truly couldn’t have reached this point without their support and guidance. Thanks, Accelerate!

The fountain of youth
I remember reading several testimonials before joining accelerate that sounded too good to be true. Believe me, this place lives up to the hype.
Jack and his team are on another level. I’ve worked with all sorts of trainers and physical therapists over the years. I’ve received strength and conditioning coaching as a college athlete, worked with several PTs rehabbing injuries over the years, I’ve done personal training at high-end gyms, and also done deep research when crafting my own personal work outs. All of it pales in comparison.
The training at accelerate is phenomenal. Starting with an immensely detailed intake covering goals and a full history, they created a program tailored to me. These workouts are legitimately FUN, I’ve genuinely said that to my friends when i rave to them about this place. Moreover, the coaching and correction you receive while working out is unparalleled. Any time there’s a new exercise in my program, the team walks me through it. As I master it, I get tips and corrections. I’d say I unlock an extra 150% out of each movement thanks to the cues that in-the-moment coaching.
And the proof is in the pudding - it really WORKS. As an example, for the better part of a decade I’ve dealt with unresolvable knee pain from a skiing injury. Doctors and PTs never figured it out, but within 6 weeks at ASP I’d legitimately forgotten about it - Jack had to remind me.
The combination of rehab, prehab, and focus on functional strength have made a perceptible difference in my resilience as a big air kiteboarder. I’ve taken crashes where i expected to be injured based on past experience and was surprised to bounce back up feeling completely fine. Within the first month of working out, i mentioned to several friends that my body felt several years younger - which is wild considering all the effort I’d been putting into designing and following my own workouts in the months before joining.
This place is the real deal. It is one of the best things you can do for yourself. If you’re at all on the fence, just go for it, you won’t regret it.

I played division 1 basketball in college and am trying to pursue a professional basketball career. I ended my college career with another knee injury. In total I tore my ACL in December of 2020, and then I tore my meniscus in December of 2022 and following that I also had to get my ACL reconstructed again after my meniscus surgery in March of 2023. My old aau coach referred me to accelerate as I was still healing. I already finished grad school so I was unable to keep rehabbing my knee at my school. Accelerate helped me overall achieve a healthy lifestyle that I will carry out past my basketball career. Jack and Jared are top notch trainers who care significantly about their clients. They helped me get back to playing contact and just trusting my knee again. Even when I had nagging injuries they modified exercises so I could continue exercising and keeping my strength as well as getting stronger. They wanted me to succeed off the court as well and guided me with clean eating habits too. They are super responsive and flexible, all you gotta do is communicate with them. I feel way better on the court, even though this is not my first go around. I am hoping to get a contract this fall, and with the help of accelerate I am able to do that. I am nothing but grateful for their commitment to me. The cold tub and sauna were also some great recoveries for me, as I workout multiple times a day. I spent about 5 months with them and I’m feeling like I can move better on the court, I’m at the point where I’m playing really hard, diving on the floor, playing defense and offense with no hesitation. I would go to accelerate in the morning usually, sometimes afternoon depending on my schedule. And then at night I would have a basketball workout in the gym. Overall, I got stronger, faster, and just feel way better mentally and physically as an athlete. I would highly recommend joining, but it is up to the person to put in the work and be consistent.

I cannot recommend Accelerate Sports Performance and Jack as a personal trainer highly enough. I have hypermobility, fibromyalgia, and scoliosis, and I’ve had terrible experiences with trainers in the past who caused more harm than good because they did not have the specialized knowledge to accommodate my medical conditions. However, from our very first session, Jack came prepared with a deep understanding of my specific conditions and a well-thought-out custom plan to build functional strength in a safe and sustainable way, ensuring that I don't overexert or hurt myself while still making meaningful progress.
Jack’s attentiveness and support have been incredible. He has a remarkable ability to perceive the specific strengths and weaknesses in my musculoskeletal system, thanks to his extensive knowledge and experience. After each session, I leave with a better understanding of how my body works. After just two months, I've already felt noticeable changes in my postural stability along with reduced chronic back pain and subluxations, which I’ve been dealing with for years.
There's no gym quite like ASP in San Francisco, and it's absolutely worth the investment. If you’re looking for a trainer who genuinely cares, listens, and has the expertise to help you reach your goals safely and effectively, Jack is the person to see. His dedication to creating individualized plans and empowering his clients with knowledge is unmatched. Thank you, Jack and ASP, for helping me feel stronger and more stable in my body!

I joined ASP around 15 months ago by chance, largely based on the reviews and the fact I live close by. I'd recently had lower back surgery and came to ASP after spending months doing physical therapy and pilates as part of my recovery. While PT and pilates did help on the margins, the improvement was very slow and I had resigned myself to the fact I would never again be 100% pain free or able to use my body the same ways I could prior to injuring my back.
Within a few weeks of training at ASP using the customized workouts they created for me I was seeing massive improvements in my mobility, flexibility, strength and general ability to use my body that went far beyond what I had expected. They update my workouts every month to ensure continued improvement and the staff are all amazing.
Fast forward to today and I can basically do anything I want with my body pain free and at a similar level to prior to my injury. I don't think I would have gotten to this point without ASP and I would recommend them to anyone who is rehabbing a serious injury.

I've been going to ASP on and off for the last 3 years and it is easily one of the best decisions I've ever made. Jack, Jared, and Hannah have helped me come back from a broken wrist, a few knee injuries, and various overuse injuries. Their approach to injury prevention and recovery is deeply rooted in full body biomechanics and research. As someone who appreciates approaches rooted in science and research, it's always great to talk about new papers and speak to the ASP team in a way that is both academic and clearly translates to the exercises prescribed.
I really enjoy getting a new program every 4 weeks. It really feels like you are making constant progress. For me, I find the first two weeks hard, on the third week I am noticeably stronger than the first week, and at the end of the fourth I'm ready to move on to the next program and continue my progress. This is easily the strongest I've ever been and the DXA lean mass numbers back it up.
I've tried all forms of training at ASP; twice a week, five+ days a week, and now remote training. Each has it's pros/cons. My favorite is definitely 5 days a week. At twice a week I find myself wanting to workout more frequently and remote training can be difficult in that most gyms aren't as well equipped as ASP. Even with that however, the team at ASP will modify the exercises for the equipment you have. They will also create travel programs for you which helps keep everything moving properly when you decide to go on that vacation or get sent somewhere for a job.
The addition of the sauna and cold plunge has been awesome. The sauna has been a great way to recover on the weekends or post workout, and the plunge is an amazing way to start your day. The ASP team will also prescribe specific sauna/plunge protocols for you depending on your particular injuries or goals.
Jack, Jared, and Hannah have built something truly unmatched at ASP, and they've managed to cultivate an incredible culture at the gym. All the members are friendly and respectful and the additional things they do like March Madness brackets and Fantasy football groups really make it feel like a community. I wish they had ASP everywhere because it really is the best investment you can make in yourself!

Whether you want medals, performance or just getting back to your passion, ASP seems like a bombproof way to get there.
I had ACL surgery last year (late 30s) and was referred to them by my PT. I’ve since been training with Hannah and the team. The results speak for themselves - and by results I mean actual podiums and medals. I snowboard, mountain bike and climb a bunch and the injury was quite the setback. With ASP’s help, within 5 months of the surgery I was back mountain biking, at 6 I was already pushing quite hard and at the 8 months mark I had my first Enduro race (🥉 in my CAT). I’ve since gotten some of my best results and in general been riding the best I ever have - I had no idea how much the full body conditioning & fitness would improve my riding. Even more impressive, I’ve since had some pretty epic, full speed crashes; stuff that me and any bystanders would just assume I’d be bodied and out for months. Instead, I’d get nothing but bruises. What that does to your confidence beats any medals. Thanks ASP!
PS: See you on Tuesday.. the work continues!

I started on ASP's Nutrition program after seven months of working out in the gym and seeing great improvements in my strength and bad posture due to scoliosis. You can be the most physically active person, but if you do not address your nutrition and what you eat, you will not excel and frankly won't feel your best. I highly recommend ASP's nutrition program to up your game. Why? Like their training, it is specifically tailored to your needs:
1.) Jack will review the food and meals you normally eat, and customize a healthy eating plan unique to you with healthy foods and meals you can stick too. And new ones you will love!
2.) There is constant feedback and education on what you are eating. For example, I'm a big sauce person, and had no idea that there were harmful pesticides and chemicals in everyday condiments, and also much healthier alternatives.
3.) You need the support! Jack, Hannah, and Jared have your back, they will be there to answer all your questions, like what exactly a natural flavor is and what supplements and nutrients you need to compliment your specific eating habits.
If you want to change how and what you eat for the rest of your life, try the nutrition program, and see how it affects your body and how you perform in the gym.

I first recommended to ASP from a teammates parent when my older daughter Nelly tore her ACL in high school. I was so pleased to to see the care and patience they had for her in her recovery and helped her back to return for her senior year. Excellent staff and a very knowledgeable team that developed a perfect program for her needs. It eventually lead her to major in Kinesiology in college and currently is wrapping up her masters. I was so pleased with their professionalism that we enrolled our youngest , currently in 8th grade, in a program for her strength and conditioning. They were able to detect a possible injury waiting to happen as my daughter tended to walk inward which could’ve lead to a knee injury. I’m glad to say they fixed the problem with a great program. She’s been there for almost 2 years and had comments from several coaches on how strong and fit she has become ( not so lucky for those who play against her lol). If you are looking for overall conditioning or
Recovery, this is the place to be. It also prepared my daughter , not only for the physical part, but the mental. She built her strong mentality that ultimately got her accepted to her future high school SHC ! ASP is perfect for the mind and body!!
Thank you Jack, Jared and Hannah at ASP!!!

Jack, Hannah, and Jared fixed my busted knee and ankle as well as made me love weight training and built up my strength. The team is amazing; they are superb at what they do. In fact, I've never met anyone as knowledgable as these three. 100% recommend if you have any injuries to get rid of or just want to level up your training.

If you want absolutely full-proof pre-hab and re-hab for the weak spot in your armor, ASP is the place to go. After tearing my ACL and meniscus in my early 40s I simply followed all the advice of my health care HMO provider. Though I was very disciplined about following the surgeon, orthopedist, and physical therapist guidelines, 10 months after surgery I had plateaued well short of a full recovery--and they could really only offer more of the same. So I went in for an evaluation with Jack and immediately experienced a different attention to details and a completely systemic approach to treating my injury. Our bodies are a system of systems, so it makes sense! There were of course months of hard work, but at every step along the way I knew Hannah, Jack, and Jared had my back in whatever way I needed it. Fast forward, I've been back surfing for several months and a few weeks back I surfed the biggest waves in 32+ months at my beloved Ocean Beach. It went quite well. I was hydrated, fueled, and properly (ASP-style!) warmed up. It was heavy, triple black diamond beach but there was a different confidence in my body and my mind I felt approaching those conditions than I ever had previously. Getting into the water I was relaxed but focused. The paddle out was comparatively easy. And out the back I can only say, felt cozy. I completed two steep-n-deep rides in under an hour, and sprinted back to other life commitments. In short, an accelerated performance. I can not express my stoke enough. Most important to getting to this point was all the strengthening, rehabbing, and empowering work I did with this incredible team in the gym. You're doing beautiful work in the world. So thanks.

I came to Accelerate Sports Performance (ASP) after a friend recommended it to me. I was recovering from a spine injury, and while physical therapy helped in the beginning, I wasn’t given many new, more challenging exercises after months of being there. I felt like I wasn’t progressing as fast as I wanted, and with the numerous activities I wanted to do such as robotics, soccer, and skiing, I needed my back to be stronger so I could enjoy my hobbies.
With the personalized exercises and attentive staff, it took less than a month for me to feel a lot stronger and more comfortable in my body. ASP helped me feel more supported on a day-to-day basis and I learned quite a few tips and exercises on how to protect my back for the rest of my life. I'm so glad I found ASP and I would suggest everyone to check them out!

I'm immensely grateful to the entire team at ASP for their expertise, patience, and unwavering support throughout my journey. From the very beginning, their approach stood out for its focus on personalization and targeting my specific needs. The team's dedication to ensuring I received the best care possible was truly remarkable.
I was very impressed by the comprehensive assessment which helped identify multiple weaknesses that likely contributed to my injury. I also really appreciated their commitment to correcting my form during exercises. They paid meticulous attention to detail, guiding me with precision to ensure I was performing each exercise correctly. This attention to form and assistance not only accelerated my recovery but also equipped me with the confidence to continue these exercises on my own without the fear of exacerbating my injury.
My time with ASP has been invaluable. Thanks to their guidance, I not only healed faster but also gained an understanding of the importance of proper technique and tailored exercises. I now feel equipped with the tools and experience to continue the exercises and stretches that will play a vital role in preventing future injuries.
If you're seeking a personalized, results-driven approach to physical therapy, look no further than ASP. They are a game-changer!

I’m a collegiate athlete and play D1 basketball at Cal as of late. I’ve been going to ASP in my off season for a few years now. I need to stay in shape between seasons and nothing has ever worked better for me that ASP has. I once tried another gym closer to my house and nothing compares to ASP I even make a 30-45 minute drive at 5:15 am to beat traffic and get there cause I know that going to ASP is the only way I’m going to get the results I want and need in order for me to be in shape and succeed as a player. I love all of the staff. Hannah, Jared, and Jack have all helped me immensely! Everyone is friendly and welcoming and it was super great getting to know the other gym members who showed up at the time I did, it truly is like a little family. Each program is specified to the kind of help you need and my exercises helped me get a workout in and do rehab for past injuries that usually develop while I’m in season. Thank you to everyone at ASP I’m super appreciative! :)

Fantastic gym!!! I did OrangeTheory HIIT for many years and struggled with injuries and burnout. I’ve been training at ASP for about 3 months and I’ve been amazed by how much progress I’ve made! The custom workouts have helped me set personalized goals that are helping with previous injuries while working to prevent more in the future. The coaches are incredibly enthusiastic and compassionate. They are quick to make adjustments and modify your plan to ensure you have the best workout for your body. The gym is always clean and well maintained. I’ve struggled to build muscle and flexibility in the past and in the time I’ve trained with ASP I’ve set many personal records.
Give ASP a try!

The staff, from the head trainers, Jack and Jared, to the lead intern, Hannah, are top-notch. Under their guidance, i'm able to still compete in my sports of choice at a high level, and, i'm confident I will still do so for the next several years.

I THOUGHT I WOULD NEVER WALK, HIKE, RUN, OR DANCE AGAIN!
ASP is otherworldly from the typical healthcare/PT system & other gyms.
The hybridized model of fitness and performance backed by sports science & medicine is the perfect blend for ANYONE.
I cannot thank ASP enough!
TRAIN AT ASP if you want to enhance injury prevention, fitness, performance in sport & life and/or recovering from an injury or surgery. They are strength & performance coaches with a foundation rooted in sports medicine, athletic training, and use science to drive their exercise prescription programming.
They are fully engaged in your success and track, iterate, & adjust programming as much as needed. There is no limit on how long I train. They are focused on outcomes and quality. When I travel I even have a digital program on their in-house training software that they track! They educate and enlighten along the way, allowing me to understand what I am doing & why, which has had a profound impact on my progress. At times I have 3 sets of eyes on me and 3 minds working collectively to enhance my life, and on MY schedule. I had no idea this type of gym, service, and environment existed!
ASP is a fountain of health, longevity, and functional sport performance where everyone around me is thriving! I train alongside general populations looking for longevity/mobility/strength/weight loss, pre/post surgical individuals like myself, professional athletes, young athletes from around 12 years up through college, office athletes and weekend warriors, and combinations of all of the above thriving collectively!
The atmosphere, education, and everyday progress I see is amazing!
MY STORY
I never realized how many people lived the same nightmare as me. After falling down some stairs and sustaining multiple soft tissue ruptures, tears, ligament and tendon avulsions, and a fracture in my lower leg/ankle I needed serious corrective surgery. I had been engaged with what were revered as the top medical professionals (surgeon, podiatrist and 3 physical therapists). My recovery was slow at best, I sustained other injuries in rehab & struggled to find pain relief. I had spent the first 3 months post-accident completely bedridden. Depression & atrophy grew. I thought constant pain, lack of range of motion, and a walking cane were my new normal after 1 year. I realized the hard way that the typical healthcare ecosystem is broken & even destructive.
FINALLY I FOUND ASP!
In just 1 MONTH I gained enough strength, mobility, and pain reduction to cease use of my cane and could walk with proper gait! I am now 100% pain free! Of all the gyms and trainers that I had explored, ASP is the only one that requested and reviewed my medical records and understood my needs. They then took me through a detailed assessment of my current health: pain, ROM, tissue quality, mobility, gait, biomechanics, proprioception, body composition, strength, stability, and more. Far more in depth, constructive & immediately more helpful and enlightening than a full year of rehab in the typical insurance PT fashion. Then they developed a custom strength and rehab program for me. In just 7 months, my body is stronger and leaner than before my accident! I wish I had found them earlier!
I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU
There are so many people in my position that went through the pains and stagnation of our healthcare system, or your general gym/personal trainer. The astonishing journeys of fellow ASP members: debilitating back injuries, ACL tears, achilles ruptures, nerve and posture issues, and every day aches, pains sustained via sport or life. They were all like me thinking that that pain & suffering was normal, and now thanks to ASP we are all thriving healthier than preinjury.
If any of the above resonates, train at ASP: INVEST IN YOURSELF! YOU WON’T REGRET IT!
Thank you Hannah, Jack, and Jared for giving me my life & independence back! There is no doubt in my mind that I would still be in pain and struggling to walk without you.

ASP is a marvelous facility. I went in there with a couple of very specific injuries including to my ankles and back. Every day I went in I was extremely impressed with the team Jack has assembled. Their knowledge of the human body, the precision within their approach and just their general attitudes. They take their work seriously, but don't take themselves too seriously. Within a few weeks of training with them I noticed changes in my body and form I never thought possible. I was walking better. Running better. Lifting better. I truly believe my body benefitted from my time working there.

My experience at ASP has been an absolutely fantastic. I have not felt this good since before ACL surgery, and to be honest, I think this is the strongest my legs have ever been. More than that, Jack, Hannah, and Jared collectively created such a warm and motivating environment. The gym felt like home.
Beyond that, here is what stands out:
1) Jack, Hannah, and Jared are true professionals. They know their stuff cold and are masterful at explaining concepts. They are patient but will also push you to hit your athletic goals.
2) The gym has a great culture. You see many friendly faces, there is always great banter, and the vibes are excellent.
3) The facility is large and has ample equipment. You are rarely waiting to use anything and can get a great workout in at your required pace.
Whether you are looking to rehab an injury or simply improve performance, I could not recommend ASP more strongly.

For decades I struggled with severe chronic lower back issues having worked with a number of professionals with no solutions. I thought it was just part of my life. I was 58 y/o when I started with Jack and the team at ASP and now at 72 have had ZERO back issues since starting with them! They were able to diagnose, treat, and I have been pain free for over a dozen years. I'm stronger, more mobile, and more knowledgeable than ever, thanks to them.
At one point I had slipped down a flight of stairs when I was out of town, they diagnosed the ankle injury before I saw the surgeon, and post surgery they were able rehabilitate me to where I am presently running 3-4 days a week and in the gym the other days and have no issues/restrictions!
My health is of the utmost importance to me and I pay close attention to my biomarkers. My doctors have said that I am reverse aging - biomarkers to prove it - again thanks to the holistic approach of ASP!
Beyond that, the system they have is like no other. Their hybrid approach to strength and conditioning and sports medicine is unparalleled. We are treated like professional athletes with elite level care encompassing nutrition, fitness, and injury prevention care. We, as members, have digital keys/access to care at any time of the day with no time limit. Coming from decades of strict 55-minute, pay per session, personal training I cannot express how important this is to have quality and effective access to top level professionals.
As individuals, the team at ASP are extremely responsive, knowledgeable and professional.
I am writing this review to help others like me out there....as someone who just had no idea this level of care and expertise existed! I am very thankful to be a part of ASP, and hope that others out there can gain as much as I have. If you are curious, wondering, or looking for something better...this is the place for you!

The trainers and program at ASP are the best. I came to them after years of back pain. Leading up to joining, I was throwing out my back every 6-8 weeks.

Accelerate has an amazing team of sports-medicine professionals. I’ve been a member for 7 months now, and only have positive feedback. The space is clean, members respectful and lots of equipment. The main reason I joined was to improve my balance and strengthen the muscles around my knee, so I could keep running, skiing and anything else that catches my fancy. I have learned so much from the team and now have the confidence in my athletic form to try new exercises and heavier weights. My progress has been incredible and I see more definition in my muscular structure. Each month I can’t wait for the new program, which increases in intensity to meet my fitness progression. No hesitation in recommending Accelerate for your fitness training.

I say this all the time and I really mean it, I don’t know where I would be without ASP. I’ve been a member for approximately 6 years now and I’m so grateful to have found this gym. Jack, Jared and Hannah are true gems. When I joined, I was coming out of my second ACL surgery. I was looking for a gym that would help my recovery and get me back on the soccer field. ASP did that and so much more! My training program is tailored to my body and needs. Each program is designed to help me progress, get stronger and go beyond my fitness goals. What I appreciate about ASP is the time dedicated to educating you on breathing techniques, proper form and the benefits of the movements/exercises performed. ASP is the supportive team you need to reach your individual goals. Not only is the staff premier, the gym itself is of the highest quality. Machines and equipment are easily accessible. There is no time limit to your session and trainers are readily available for assistance. Overall, this not just any gym, this is THE gym! Do yourself a favor and check out ASP!

I wanted to give a big shout out to Jack/Hannah/Jared at ASP for my amazing transformation.
