I only recently joined this gym, which is very nice and clean, but this review is mostly for the yoga instructor who teaches the 6:30PM class.

Stephanie is AMAZING. She is knowledgeable, soft spoken and yet speaks with such deep intention. Her teaching style is welcoming and approachable and will leave you consumed with gratitude, loving yourself, and remembering that you can take on all the challenges of your life. So appreciative of Stephanie and what an incredible teacher she is.

Initially, I was disappointed because there was no tour offered. Also, the lack of 5 stars is due to the high price. But i have enjoyed their swim classes for my little girl and I highly recommend Shaemus as a personal Trainer.

Love this gym! Competitively priced against other gyms in the area, with much better amenities. Free access to sauna, steam room, and fitness classes (excluding Pilates and f-45 similar class, last time I checked those were additional 20-25 per session). Staff is always so friendly and the gym is always so clean!

I also appreciate that I receive an email with any updates/maintenance to the gym. Last season a heat pump (or something similar) went out on the jacuzzi and they actively emailed me with updates on ordering parts, scheduled maintenance, and completion of fixing it. All which was done in a timely matter. They have updated so much equipment there as well in the year I’ve been with them.

Cannot say enough good things about this gym! We initially did a free trial and signed with Jamie, definitely ask for him if you are interested in joining! Thanks for a wonderful experience!

This is a great place to workout. It is clean, well located, people are friendly, the practitioners in their spa are awesome, good equipment, good assortment of equipment and enough open floor space if you simply choose to stretch or do yoga for an hour. I have been active in 4 gyms in Petaluma since 2017. If you're looking for quality your best money is spent at this gym.

I was a member from the beginning and just left Active Wellness a few months ago when I moved out of state.I’ve always appreciated this club, even through the ups and downs of different owners and the pandemic.But now I appreciate it even more after joining a gym near me in Seattle, and leaving it after unbelievable unethical behavior. Active’s staff, straight forward communication, personal trainers and all the amenities are the best.Worth every penny. I miss it.

There’s a lot that’s nice about this place, but beware of how hard and expensive it is to cancel your subscription here. I just canceled because we don’t really go to enough to make the $350+ per month (!!!) worth it for a family of 4. Here’s what I had to do:
1. Call them and answer all the questions about why I want to cancel
2. Get them to email me a link to a form to cancel
3. Fill out the form
4. Call them again to confirm that they will cancel

And that means I’m done paying them right? Nope. They will still charge me again because they requiere 30 days advance written notice to cancel a plan.

Did I mention I paid $200 in initiation fees a couple months ago just to start paying them?

I would have liked to resubscribe sometime when it works better for us, but I think the sheer draconian expense of joining and leaving means that we will not.

Probably the best gym or fitness center I have ever been to. It is clean and well maintained. Front desk personnel are very welcoming and friendly. Equipment is in great condition and there’s an army of PT’s to help you to improve.

I’m enjoying the club though I agree with others, the executive locker rooms (which I’m paying up for) and the standard ones are beyond tired. They need new carpets, furniture and decor. Honestly, the walls and corners throughout the whole club could use patch and painting as well. We moved from SF and are grateful for this amenity…but yes, I agree w/other reviewers… this club is dated and a bit dingy. I hope management can get funding to fix the place up.

Mark and Jamie are exceptional at keeping this club going. They know everybody's name and they make everyone feel so welcome. They act quickly to answer all your questions and resolve any issues. The club is very clean and the equipment is great. Another plus is if you are vaccinated you do not have to wear a mask.

Love my gym! The entire staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. The equipment and space is clean and I really enjoy the various group classes, as well as Zone for my HIIT workouts. It is definitely a fun environment, while achieving my fitness goals!

Utilizing the great lap pool since last summer has definitely helped to sustain me during the pandemic. They continue to follow CDC and state guidelines for cleanliness and social distancing which makes me feel more comfortable being there. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would recommend this health club.

I've been a member at Synergy for several years now, and the way they handled the pandemic has proven that they really care about their clients. Communication throughout has been clear. Staff are always kind and considerate, and the cleanliness has been outstanding. I appreciate the lengths Synergy has gone to to make sure we have workouts available, whether on video or live via Zoom, outdoors on the pool deck and other outdoor areas, and in the lap pool. Fantastic experience. My place of peace.

This place used to be a great club. The best in Petaluma at one point. Now, it is clear they've abandoned all care for their employees and members. Profit is king when St. Joseph's is in charge.

During the COVID crisis they've ignored critical medical advice from our state officials and kept their pool operating while forcing employees to work during a state of emergency. They are contributing to the rising COVID numbers in our county by haphazardly transitioning their classes to outdoor use and requiring employees to work.

As a member, I'm ashamed. I know of several others have cancelled their membership and I am close to cancelling as well. If you are a member, I suggest you join us, or at least demand a higher standard of accountability from your health club. When Synergy decides to work towards a mission of health and wellness for our community, and ceases to value financial reward above all else, maybe their members will return.

I have been a member for 6 years. The facilities are top-notch. However, since the Redwood club has closed Synergy is ridiculously busy. Way too many people day or night for this club. I hope management gets smart and starts limiting the number of members.

The club is great. We joined, some 4 years ago, because it was so clean and they had a great child care. Now, the locker rooms are filthy, steam room is moldy as is the hot tub. After St Joseph's medical purchased them, they have gone down hill.

This is about as close to perfect as you will find in a smaller town health club. Wonderful staff, super clean, comprehensive facility and services. If you are looking for cheap this is not it. That notwithstanding I think that in total it represents an exceptionally good value.

Fantastic gym. The equipment is great, and there are clear directions of where to start - and there are many of each machine. The iTrim weight circuit makes strength training really easy and simple. Slightly separate room for yoga and stretching. Pool! With a slide. I can't wait until summer when the hours are longer again. And the staff are all very pleasant and helpful.

We've all seen health clubs in the past. They have basic stuff like locker rooms, fitness equipment, on-staff trainers...and sometimes even a pool. I used to work at the NIKE world HQ in Beaverton, Oregon and always thought that was the nicest fitness center I had been to.

We just joined Club ONE a few weeks ago and are really impressed with the facility. It has everything you'd expect a fitness center would have, but they over deliver with surprise and delights around every corner.

Of course all the basic stuff is good. The fitness equipment is plentiful—they've got what you need. But the on site spa, self locking lockers (love these), and the palm tree-lined swimming pool (with a frickin' water park!) feels more like a resort than a health club.

Really impressed with this place. Well worth the money.
