I wish I could give 5 stars but the 4 i give are for Adrienne and partially for Lisa. Adrienne is absolutely knowledgeable and such a delight. You cannot be rude to her even when you are annoyed about anything else, that's the kind of personality she has. Lisa is amazing at swim lessons, I wish we could continue our membership to learn with her. Sadly, the reason for only 4 stars is that things are always broken down as some others have mentioned and our biggest issue is the restricted timings for family swim and active kids club. Not everyone can access amenities within those time constraints and that was our main reason for quitting the club. A lot of other parents also agreed when we met at the pool, they weren't getting their money's worth. Also to add that Megan (if i am not wrong about the name but shes mostly at the desk) is one person because of whom I could've even given just one star, she's rude and should not be in customer service. She thinks she is doing her job and is the best at it but she is not, she needs to not be at the front of the house. Whenever we had swim questions she made it seem like we were inconveniencing her and kept complaining about how the club should run. Swim team and front desk need to have some co-ordination to provide information.

I chose this gym because it was cleaner and more quiet than others. But that's different now. I frequently encounter others having full on and loud conversations on their phones. I could hear a member last night having a phone conversation while on the treadmill, even while I was wearing noise-reducing headphones with workout music playing. Then when I finished and went to machines, another member was doing the same. This is disruptive and inconsiderate, and there are no staff around monitoring to help maintain a pleasing environment for others.

11/4/25 - started coming back after avoiding this gym for a while because of the inconsiderate gym-goers having loud phone conversations. I'm on the treadmill again, and my "neighbor" is having a conversation on the phone that I can hear even when wearing noise-reducing headphones. (Yes, I moved to a treadmill farther away.) C'mon Active, you have the rules posted and nobody is monitoring and enforcing them. It really makes working out unpleasant.

All the people at active fitness that work here are awesome. They're very friendly and knowledgeable. As a combat veteran with PTSD it's actually has saved my life in recovering from body and mind issues. I even brought a friend neighbor and she enjoys it

Such a beautiful brilliant modern gym! So many great classes. Best teacher in the world for Step class…don’t miss it! The coolest is the Indoor track.…running in a comfortable air conditioned place when it’s super hot outside😃 Staff is amazingly knowledgeable and supportive. Impressive and immaculate locker rooms .

It’s a great place, but the simple things are lacking. For being probably the most high end gym in the area, the water fountains taste like chorine straight from the pool. And your only alternative? A 16oz water bottle for $3. Additionally, the hours of operation are shockingly limited. Very clean and quiet though.

It’s a nice place - but lots of issues with the pool area from inconsistent temperatures to a broken drain ( now for 4 months ) to being kicked out of your lap lane you book/use everyday for an overflow water aerobics class - and now the app changed so you can’t book a lane time strategically to have it to yourself, which I need to do as I swim above water . I swim everyday and so does another group and we all had a system - until the app changes and class that I might add took priority over lap swimmers. Also the noise from the water aerobics music was so loud- we all chose to wear headphones . Loved the yoga class and Pilates reformer class -sad to go but the swimming is my main priority and I can’t count on it now. I will say cleanliness in the women’s locker room has also declined . I’ve never given negative reviews in my life but I felt his needed to be addressed. I switched clubs, sadly, but maybe this review will prompt some improvements.

Lisa, the Swim Director at Active Wellness in Vacaville, runs an absolutely phenomenal program. Her leadership, dedication, and passion for teaching kids how to swim are truly unmatched. The entire swim instruction program is incredibly well-organized, with a team of outstanding instructors who genuinely care about each child’s progress.

Lisa creates a warm, welcoming environment where kids feel comfortable, supported, and motivated to learn. My son had previously struggled with two different instructors elsewhere and still couldn’t swim. But after joining Lisa’s program, everything changed—he went from not swimming at all to confidently swimming! Her approach is structured yet nurturing, ensuring every child gains both skill and confidence in the water.

We are beyond grateful for Lisa and her team. The difference she has made in my son’s swimming journey is nothing short of amazing. We love her and can’t recommend her program highly enough!

Love this fitness center is welcoming, very clean and locker well equipped with all the toiletries you need. Nice towels and plenty of showers.

Staff are great. Very polite and helpful.
I don’t attend the classes but they seem to be very popular.

This is the first gym I've joined where I feel like I truly belong. It's always clean, usually quiet, and no "gym bro" vibes at all (iykyk). The equipment is well maintained and the pools are fabulous. I love doing my post-workout cooldown in the lap pool (cardio and literally cooler) and then spending a little bit of time in the spa to work on sore muscles. It's a great way to start my day.

It's clean, has lots of machines available, and is in general so much calmer than the other gyms in the area I toured or tried out. I love the indoor track for when outside weather is prohibitive or it's too dark after work. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Not particularly family friendly. Access to pools is very limited and children center is not always staffed, like the hours say. Staff friendliness is hit or miss, depending when you go. Weekends are definitely friendlier. A lot of older clients that swim during family hours and do not like kids in the pools. Some have been very nice though and have vocalized their support of us being there. My kids love the pools though and are still learning to swim. It’s pricey, but I don’t mind paying more if it’s accessible. I pay $185 a month for me and my two girls so for that cost I have high expectations, which unfortunately this place has not delivered on. I’m sure they won’t like my review, but it’s honest and their bigger concern should be maintaining that contract with Northbay because the current model is not working.

Wow! Just wow. This gym has EVERYTHING you need. Lot's of free weights. An abundance of high end multipurpose racks. Loads and loads of every cardio machine you could want. Multiple pools. Large spin studio with at least 20 to 25 high end spin bikes. It goes on and on. Pilates, floor exercise classes, yoga... The locker rooms are high end with every detail taken care of including towels, toiletries, hair dryers, even razors and Qtips. Highly recommend, at the very minimum check it out with a free one day guest pass. Super clean facility and ALL of the employees are so upbeat and friendly. I feel that I am totally not exaggerating this review.

We visited this fabulous gym today for a tour and decided to join, even though it's a 40-mile round trip for us. It's the cleanest, biggest, most spacious, best appointed, most thoughtfully designed, disabled-friendly, all-age gym we've ever seen by some margin. The staff and clientele are equally enthusiastic. It exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to get started.
