For over 20 years, Agility Studio has been the top Pilates studio in San Diego and remains the studio athletes train at and physical therapists refer to. Our philosophy is not based on gimmicks. Our methods are centered in proven pilates techniques as well as corrective exercises, HIT workouts, Dynamic, and stability training. What that means for you is you will be able to get your needs met here without a one size fits all pilates mill approach. Our fit clients both young and wise, are our proof. Each client needs something unique! I spent the summer in San Diego during the first and second trimesters of my pregnancy and was so incredibly grateful that I found Rana and Agility Studio. Rana is exceptionally knowledgable, thoughtful, and fun to work with. I looked forward to class every week and could truly feel a difference after only a few classes. I've always believed the indication of a strong teacher/personal trainer is the ability to adapt and problem solve when someone identifies pain or discomfort, and Rana does that seamlessly. If you're considering pilates, even in you're not pregnant, Rana is the absolute best! I live in Manhattan and I cannot find anyone like her.

I started taking prenatal pilates with Rana around week 14 of my pregnancy and continued all the way up until delivery. I truly believe her classes were a huge reason for my easy delivery and smooth recovery! She is an incredible instructor who tailors every session to individual needs, whether in private, semi-private, group, or her amazing prenatal strap classes.
Her expertise in prenatal movement is unmatched. She knew exactly how to modify exercises as my body changed, keeping me strong and mobile throughout pregnancy. Beyond that, her energy is so motivating. She makes challenging workouts fun while always prioritizing safety.

I’m relatively new to Pilates, but not personal trainers. Training is only as good as the trainer, and Rana is the best. She is warm, welcoming, encouraging, fun, and deeply professional. Pilates is all about correct form if you really want to see results. In my case, I came in with a background in yoga, which helps somewhat, but the disciplines are different and Rana has worked to get me from Pilates rote beginner to intermediate in a matter of months. I feel substantially stronger. Workouts are one hour, and Rana makes use of every minute of that hour. She works you hard according to your ability and fitness level. Without doubt, my fitness level has improved. Beyond that, Rana helped me work around some chronic pain issues and through the aftermath of two surgeries, designing a modified pilates workout that worked around my recoveries. She has that kind of commitment and dedication to her clients, which is why we love her. Agility Studio is a real find.

Rana is the best! Rana brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and empathy to my private pilates sessions at her Carlsbad Studio. I am a 54-year-old woman living with chronic lower back pain. I have been a client of Rana’s for over three years. I am a woman over 70 and Rana has helped me greatly with my posture and strength. She is mindful of injuries and ongoing back issues. Also, Rana is knowledgeable about supplements and recommended a new supplement that helped me turn around my bone density issues. Such a nice, professional, clean and fun place to work out! Rana the instructor is very knowledgeable and understands how to adjust exercises for all clients, from someone brand new to Pilates or injured to the hard core athletes. Here’s some pics a friend took of me trying a specialty class Rana teaches in addition to the Reformer. It’s a brilliant idea called the Pilates strap since we can get our own kit and take it traveling. (Reformers don’t fit in suitcases easily!) can’t wait for the next class.

I have been going to Rana for about 6 months. I have been practicing Pilates for 10 years! I have a love hate relationship with Rana. She is the very best Pilates instructor I have ever had. Rana takes the time to know you and your body. She pays strict attention to you for your entire appointment. Not much down time! (thus the hate part of our relationship )She is very knowledgeable about how Pilates is able to improve your muscle tone, your agility and how you can continue to age gracefully and maintain a pain free existence. I highly recommend Agility Studios. Rana is wonderful and a true fitness expert. I've been working out with her for almost 5 years. I did PT for my shoulder for years. I wanted to find a fitness option that would help me get strong without injuring myself again. When I started doing pilates with Rana, I was 6 months postpartum and weak. She helped me get back in shape and strong safely. I started seeing results in a couple of months after I started. My husband also started taking classes with her after seeing my results. Rana is a knowledgeable and experienced pilates teacher and athlete herself. She takes her students' safety seriously and lets you work out on your own pace. I did a combination of private, semi-private, and group classes with her. I always received the same level of attention from her regardless of the class type. Her group classes are limited to 4 people and aways clean.

I have been in Rana's Pilates class for 11 years & 3mos. I am 76 yrs old. I train twice a week and have watched my body transform for the better (size 12 to 8) and not only losing pounds but inches. I have always wanted to get & feel physically fit, lose weight, gain strength and develop a smooth lean muscle tone. With Rana's expert instruction and my Hard Work, I have achieved my goals. I had no idea when I started Pilates that I could be the fit person I am today...still amazes me. Her sixty-minute full body workouts with upbeat music are intense, invigorating, challenging and FUN! We continue to focus on core abdominal strengthening, weight resistance, my balance and flexibility. It's a great workout! Love Rana and this studio! I’ve gained muscle in my legs, arms, stomach and back. I feel stronger, am more flexible and feel much better, more fit but I know my body in space to use good mechanics and avoid injury. She’s an expert at building strength and length using her style of Pilates. She’s very bright, experienced, fun, funny but serious about helping people get stronger in large muscles and those stabilizing muscles I didn’t know I needed. Love the personal feel of the smaller but spacious studio. Love feeling better overall and less giggles and wiggles. I’m consistent and it’s paid off. She’s a great find and makes it fun although gets down to business. She can make anything harder but focuses on proper form and explains why. Truly a gift to her clients and a standout among North County fitness studios. I’ve been coming for two years but got results within months. And my mind feels clearer! Big fan!

Rana is my first introduction into Pilates and I’m so glad it was! Her classes are specific to your goals and she takes the time to really focus on your movements and how they can be improved. For me personally, my knee placement and back habits when doing the movements were an issue. She truly helped me adapt those through the classes which has helped me with other workouts. She is extremely pre-natal friendly as well! I ended up getting pregnant and she quickly pivoted our classes to accommodate. Highly recommend this personal training!

I joined Rana’s Pilates class when I was 5 months pregnant and I am so glad that I did. Not only is Rana an expert in Pilates, but she is also super knowledgeable in how to train pregnant patients. She always ensured I knew how to modify the move for my stage of pregnancy and even helped me to get through a severe episode of sciatica when I got further along in my pregnancy. In addition to getting a fantastic workout, Rana’s class feels like a community. She is so sweet, always making sure everyone is taken care of during class and is fantastic at introducing people. I met Rana two years ago leading up to my wedding. I had done Pilates before, but never had such attention and detail and focus put on me. I recently embarked on my Pilates adventure at Agility Studio, guided by the incredibly talented Rana Kennedy. Even as a beginner, and being male, any apprehension I had was instantly eased by Rana. Rana is an incredible trainer. I just finished 10 privates with her and will be continuing with her 2x/week. A few specific things to call out: she is always paying attention. I may think we are chatting while I do my reps and she'll stop herself mid-sentence to correct my form, adjust my body, count my reps--she is never not working. Next, she is so incredibly knowledgable, but in a way that is accessible. She noticed (not me!) that one of my shoulders is higher than the other--and is often correcting my form (my shoulders, my knee, a slight turn of my foot) while training me--and I'm shocked by the big difference these small observations and changes have made. Lastly, while I went in with the goal of decreasing my stress and improving my fitness--I'm already having unexpected results such as my back hasn't been hurting (I just assumed my back would always kinda hurt bc I sit at a computer 10 hours per day). Rana is hard working, super smart, and a calm, kind person. I highly recommend working with Rana.

Rana is amazing and doing Pilates with her has helped me in more ways than one. I have always been very active but developed chronic back and hip pain, which worsened when I became pregnant. I started doing 1:1 Pilates sessions with Rana’s twice a week in my first trimester and throughout my entire pregnancy. Rana is incredibly knowledgeable and she guided me through exercises that were safe during pregnancy but that also helped me strengthen the right muscle groups to prevent back and hip pain. I also recovered very quickly post pregnancy, and I definitely attribute that to my workouts with Rana!

When I was younger I was in great shape and thought I was a decent athlete. I played high school football and lacrosse in high school and college lacrosse. When I stated going to Rana twice a week about four years ago I was over weight and out of shape. Thanks to Rana I am 42 now and I’m a better athlete now than I was when I was younger. Not only did I lose 50lbs but I am stronger, faster, quicker, have more muscle and can jump higher than ever before. I no longer have to tell my kids that I was a good athlete they can see for themselves and there friends ask them why is there dad so fast. Only getting better thanks to Rana.

My daughter had difficulty going on pointe, after 9 years of ballet, due to specific weak leg muscles and decreased endurance, causing ankle pain with increased jumping, when doing pointe work. Rana immediately knew how to strengthen her legs and even had a jump board for the reformer, to work specifically on her jumps. Within a shot time, pointe was getting easier and legwork was mire precise, woth no pain. I would highly recommend Rana for any ballerina.

Rana is a great instructor and motivates you throughout the class. The classes are small and there is a real sense of comradery with the others in the class. I have been going to Agility Studio for almost five years. I signed up when I was feeling frustrated about not finding a work out regimen that worked for my specific needs. I was diagnosed with MS eight years ago and have issues with fatigue and balance so a lot of workouts are not suitable for me.
I wanted to give Pilates a try and I am not exaggerating when I say it changed the way I think about a work out. Rana is amazing- the class sizes are small and very hands on and she modifies every class to work for whatever issues you may be dealing with that day. I love that I can attend the same class with people of all ages and athletic abilities (including pregnant and post-partum ladies) and we all get exactly what we need out of the class. Rana has a nice athletic style of Pilates which makes me feel powerful without taxing my muscles. There are also spin/yoga classes on certain nights if you want to mix up your routine.
Every person I have ever worked out with has been friendly and welcoming. This is the most laid back studio you will find. I am stronger than I've ever been thanks to Rana. If you are considering Pilates, this is the place!

I recently celebrated my one year anniversary as a student of Rana's in her Agility Studio. I say "student" because, even though I am an emergency physician, Rana has taken the time to teach me so much about the musculoskeletal system, and how important it is to use proper form while exercising to prevent injury and increase physical well-being. Rana's constant attention to detail allows her to make frequent modifications to our regimen and adapt her workouts to each individual client.
While it is Rana's enthusiasm, expertise, and professional service that keep me coming back week after week, the atmosphere that she fosters at Agility Studio is the icing on the cake. The studio is clean, spacious, and welcoming. I like to arrive 30-45 minutes before my session for a warm-up on the spin bikes. Although Rana pushes you hard during your workout, she does this while maintaining a very light and upbeat attitude. She expects you to work hard always, ask questions frequently, and laugh often.
I look forward to coming to the studio because I really enjoy the workouts, the friendly clients, and the knowledgeable staff. My kids even make occasional appearances when I have a babysitting failure.

I've been training with Rana at Agility Studio for a few years now; pre baby, throughout my entire pregnancy, and post baby. I genuinely love Rana's style of Pilates -- it feels a little more "athletic" to me; and has transformed my muscles to be less tight and more elongated. Rana is also so knowledgeable about nutrition, and self care... you get the "whole package" when training with her. I've attended classes and semi-privates, all of the sessions are beneficial. I wouldn't go anywhere else for Pilates, you'll agree when you attend, too! :)

I’ve worked out with Rana for 3 years now, through both of my pregnancies, and am more fit and have more stamina than I did before two kids! She is attuned to the needs of the pregnant and post-natal body and is able to alter workouts to be effective, but still safe and comfortable. I feel like the work I did with Rana really helped me bounce back more easily after both pregnancies. She pushes without being pushy, is positive, and supportive. You won’t find a more dedicated trainer!

Overall awesome experience. My girlfriend and I signed up for the Pilates class as a novice. We both felt as Rana and the staff took the time to ensure proper form and technique. Rana is the best. I was very aphrehensive about agility pilates and not sure someone overweight and out of shape could consider doing it.
