I’ve done CrossFit for years and this gym might be the best I’ve been to. The community, the coaches, and the facility are all amazing. An absolute gem of a gym! I had unknowingly dropped into Aliso CrossFit for a hero workout (Hidalgo). The reverence, the kindness, quality coaching, and the overall welcoming warmth was all encompassing. Aliso CrossFit is the real deal. This gym with its coaches and members are tremendously kind, welcoming, and encouraging. I'm in the area just trying to get away from the fires and smoke in LA and I felt so welcome the moment I stepped in. It's comforting having at least part of my weekly routine restored when you're in a not too familiar place.

Being a reticent fitness enthusiast, I took a chance with ACF which appeared bit unconventional compared to your regular 24/7 fitness clubs. One year in to training at ACF, I wish I enrolled much earlier in my life. The high-energy group sessions and incredibly motivated fellow members makes it a fun place to workout. Aliso CrossFit helped me dial-in every aspect of my fitness journey, especially my nutrition. The coaches are certified through Healthy Steps Nutrition (HSN) to work with people to achieve their nutrition goals. I received excellent coaching and guidance on how to eat for performance and change my mindset on approaching food. It was a wholistic approach that examined not just my eating habits, but my lifestyle and support system to make sure they were working together to promote the goals I wanted! I couldn’t recommend this enough!

Whether you are trying to lose weight or train better, this program has helped members of the box, including myself, have better eating habits.

Enjoyed my first training session at Aliso Cross Fit. The facility is spacious, has everything needed, and is very clean. The coaches were excellent in that they were motivating and very knowledgeable. The session was fast-paced and has us moving from warm up until the end. The best part was the community. If you’d told me six months ago that I’d be raving about CrossFit, I would have laughed—loudly and with conviction. I had my reservations: it seemed like a battleground of competitive spirits, potential injuries, and workouts that looked like they were designed by a torturous mastermind. But then I took a leap of faith and walked into Aliso CrossFit, and oh boy, was I in for the best surprise of my life!

From the very first moment I stepped into ACF, it was clear that this wasn’t your typical CrossFit scene. Instead of an intimidating gauntlet of muscle-bound gladiators, I was greeted by a warm and welcoming community that felt more like a big, supportive family than a cutthroat arena. The vibes here are all about lifting each other up—figuratively and literally!

Let’s talk coaches: they’re the real MVPs. Each one brings a mix of expertise, enthusiasm, and genuine care that’s as infectious as it is inspiring. They’re not just there to get you into shape (though they’ll definitely do that); they’re also dedicated to helping you improve at your own pace, cheering you on with every milestone, big or small. Been here for seven years now and still can't imagine a better fitness experience. Aliso CrossFit is on its third ownership group since I joined, and each has been excellent. Just did my first WOD at AlisoCF after a long hiatus due to injury and move from NorCal. Recently, found this place through yelp. As far as a review/first impression, this box is a clean facility, super friendly, and they have welcoming members especially the coaching staff, too! Love how Coach Todd observes everyone’s form and teaches us the proper/correct and safe way when doing the workout movements. Also, customer service and communication are excellent when I was inquiring as well! You’ll be seeing me again real soon, AlisoCF!

I am not in the slightest bit fitness inclined. I’ve never been able to stay motivated or keep up with a routine any time I’ve tried on my own. I finally found my solution. Coaches Kellie, Todd, and Johnna. What an amazing feeling. It feels like walking into a family gathering where everyone is supporting you, cheering you on, and building you up. It’s completely different from anything I’ve experienced before. They even have a kids CrossFit program that I brought my kids to, and they had a BLAST. The gym is simple, clean, and well appointed. There’s even a coffee bar! It’s not just about the workout, it’s about the community and camaraderie. Highly recommend stopping by and check it out.

Great local crossfit gym. Coach Todd, Kelly, Johnna, and Erik are very attentive and make sure you have proper form before doing any workouts with weights. Overall, awesome people! Highly recommended ACF if you're looking to get into crossfit! I had never lifted a weight in my entire life and was a total lifting newbie. Three months in and I've never felt more confident or strong. The coaches here are amazing and really help you master your form before you start lifting heavy. I never imagined I'd be where I am today and it's all thanks to Aliso Crossfit!!!!

Oh and if you're a girl- Shefit is an amazing class to go to!!!!

This Gym is amazing. The owners Rick and Chelsea are awesome. The Trainers Jackson, Rob and Clayton are knowledgeable and very helpful. There are boxes literally walking distance to my condo but i drive from newport 5 days a week because this gym is awesome. Ive been to other boxes where you are extremely timid to go , but not here! i LOVE my 7am class! I cant imagine not going here. A great place for someone new to crossfit to start.

As a Doctor of Chiropractic I know all about the importance of functional movement training and exercise, and CrossFit is just that; functional, and by that I mean that these exercises, lifts and movements will improve your function in your daily routine be it as an office worker, business person law enforcement officer, firefighter, housewife, athlete, armed service man or woman, student, etc... Improved function decreases pain. CrossFit gets a bad wrap from people who don't know any better because they think that doing CrossFit will cause injuries. Well, so will walking down the stairs if done improperly. Granted, these workout are intense and you will be moving weight and your body around, but when done with proper form and scaled to your ability, they can actually do wonders for injury prevention, core stability and strength, as well as cardiovascular, immune and nervous system health. This is because CrossFit workouts are designed to create a Metabolic Effect that burns calories for up to 36 hours after your workout; something not caused by hours on a treadmill... Use proper form, scale the weight to your ability and check your ego at the door and you shouldn't have to worry about injuries.

Regarding this specific CrossFit Box/Gym, I love it! The owners, Rick and Chelsea are great and a pleasure to work with and have no problem adapting their business and purchasing new equipment to accommodate the growing number of members here. This is a very beginner friendly gym that will also humble to best CrossFitters around depending on how you scale your workouts. The coaches are also very skilled and they help coach you on your form and motivate you the entire WODs (Workout Of the Day), unlike other CrossFit gyms around here... My fiance and I joined up in early May and made friends quickly. We love the sense of community at this gym and during the events planned outside of the box like beach days, pool parties, nutritional seminars and Tough Mudder events. The dynamic of our 6am class is filled with friendly competition and everyone cheers till the final person is done. I would recommend this gym to anyone, regardless of fitness level.

3..2...1...GO! I have become very familiar with this phrase over the past year. After a month of emails back and forth with one of the owners, I finally walked in the door early January, 2012, to finally try this thing called CrossFit. I had known about it for a while, back when it was only done in your garage. But having a place nearby I could go to was fantastic! I met Rick, the owner and name on the emails, and we talked about my background and my goals. I did the On Ramp intro class and got hooked! This was the combination of exercise and personnel I was looking for! The owners (Rick and his wife Chelsea) have done an outstanding job of creating a place that both welcomes you, and challenges you. The coaches, Clayton, Jackson, and Rob, are at once inspiring and motivating, pushing you through the WOD (Workout Of the Day). It doesn't matter if you can lift 5 pounds or 500, if you can run or not, or do a pull up or not, you are still met with the same coaching, motivation and support.

Whether you're an athlete or a couch potato, you are welcome! You'll be challenged, pushed and motivated! The other members are fantastic as well, hanging out before and after the WOD.

The owners and coaches, IMO, have certainly embraced and embodied the spirit of CrossFit,, and have made a great place to come experience the sport of fitness!

I have been a member of ACF for 2 years now and I can honestly say joining was THE best health decision I have ever made. Looking back at pictures of when I first joined, I am reminded of how out of shape I looked and I recall feeling very unhappy with my self as a result. Prior to joining I had heard of the CrossFit brand and had friends who had achieved great results....yet I was still skeptical, because of all of the negative rumors surrounding CrossFit and it's safety. I decided to attend a free class and after the first workout (as challenging as it was), I knew that I was going to stay around and give this CrossFit thing a shot. I left that day with a feeling of accomplishment and felt comfort that the staff at ACF was very knowledgeable and placed a high focus on safety. I am very proud that I have stayed injury free and been able to consistently work and make gains in my fitness and overall health. I am 35 with 2 children and in the best physical shape of my life. Not only has this experience been life changing for my health, I have also made great connections with members and the CrossFit community in general. I attend competitions, events, fundraisers, etc. I have made a bunch of great friends, and the experience has overall made me a better person. I am better at time management, I feel like my my mind functions better, I am happier, and I have gained a wealth of knowledge that I will use for the rest of my life on diet and exercise. I really owe the staff and owners of Aliso CrossFit a great deal of gratitude for what they have given me. I highly encourage anyone at any fitness level or age to give it a shot. You WILL be challenged; but I guarantee if you stick with it and pay attention to the advice of the staff, stay dedicated, this will be a life changer for you!

When I started here I thought that the people were intimidating and the workouts would be too hard. I could only do a few pull-ups before needing to use a band for help. The community that I found was AMAZING! The staff and other members pushed me to to become better. I don't think that I have ever found the results that I have had here. I have used personal trainers, fad workouts, boot camps, etc. Nothing compares to this place. You don't just join a gym, you join a community that is welcoming to EVERYONE. It doesn't matter your size, weight, sex, experience level. They will help you up, cheer you on, and make you better. Joining Aliso CrossFit was the best thing that I have ever done!

I have had personal trainers and have been an athlete prior to Aliso Crossfit and they are much much more then just another Crossfit gym because the trainers are well educated. Run by a husband and wife, so you really get a sense of community. Having that community has helped me reach goals that I never thought I would achieve with getting my diet on the healthy track and losing those extra pounds. I recommend Also Crossfit for anyone that wants to get in shape or take it to the next level and have fun and never get bored with your workouts.

Two Words -TRY IT! I have been Crossfitting for two years and have tried several different boxes and I can finally say I have found my second home! The schedule is great; several options for AM classes with afternoon classes given 3x week, PM classes and Saturday classes. The coaches are knowledgeable, awesome and push you during the WODS (Work Out of the Day) If you dont have experience, thats ok, they will SCALE. Keep in mind you can YouTube Crossfit videos and yes they look scarey but at Aliso Viejo Crossfit, they train smart. They sell protein and recovery and Coconut water. The restrooms are clean and plenty of parking. They have an apparel line from beanies, hoodies, tank-tops and tshirts featuring their logos which are great. The area is nice, safe and across the street from the OC Sheriff's department (Aliso Viejo)
I live in Irvine and there are several Crossfits in the area within 6 miles from my house but Aliso Viejo is well worth the extra drive! Come by and check it out!
