Just did a 6 week challenge and met my weight loss goal with 21.5 lb lost! More importantly, I learned first hand--not just read about in a magazine or tried for a week and quit--about sticking to a pretty strict diet, working out with great HIIT-style sessions, and improved form on certain exercises that increase mobility and strength. This was a great boost to get started on a different path, and Alta (and its full team) made it fun in the process.

It’s been two weeks since I joined and I love it! The nutrition plan they set me up with is easy to follow and I’m already feeling better. The workouts are enjoyable and the coaches are so helpful. The coaches are very knowledgeable in stretches, exercises, nutrition, positive mental attitude and everything involved with leading a healthy active lifestyle. I've attended classes coached by Laura, Scott, and Aaron and found them all to be friendly, professional, and eager to instruct. They give good guidance on how to do the workouts with good form to prevent injuries and maximize gains. The workouts are a great variety of exercises which vary by class. The classes maintain an excellent ratio of upper body, lower body and balance. The nutrition plan for myself has been life changing. I've always somewhat knew the benefits of eating healthy but never fully committed to it. I truly appreciated that the approved proteins, carbs, greens and fats were all spelled out along with a portion size for each meal. It made it so easy for someone new to eating healthy like myself to get started. Alta Performance Institute also has a very active Facebook group that shares information and allows for interaction with the coaches and other members. It is not just a gym but a community of like minded individuals committed to getting fit. At their Monterey location they have a scale linked to the InBody app that will track your weight, muscle mass, body fat, etc. These types of readouts provide motivation for myself as I strive to be bettter. Overall this is an excellent program with a committed and passionate leader. Aaron never seems to settle for what things are but looks to evolve his institue for the greater. This benefits everyone involved.

Aaron and his crew are wonderful people. They want you to succeed in reaching your goals on either losing weight or just toning up. They are all so encouraging even in all the workout classes I have taken ,everyone is so "you got this girl" attitude Willing to give you tips even if you're calling them late in the evening they are all willing to help you. I love it I'm so glad I started here at Alta Performance..

The Alta Experience:
I’ve been attending Alta Performance for about two months now, and I love it. I love that you never really get the same workout twice, and that the coaches really coach you. If your form is wrong, they correct you. If they think you can use a heavier or lighter weight, they offer it to you. They challenge you and recognize your efforts. At Alta, there are people in different fitness levels, all working out together. This gives me, someone who is in the middle of her fitness journey, the opportunity to learn from those who are further along as well as the opportunity to pass on my knowledge to someone who is just starting. That’s probably the best thing about Alta, that you won’t find in other gyms. It’s a sense of community and belonging, and being able to find support when you need it most.

Before joining Alta Performance, I had the biggest issue with fitting in working out with my long, hectic, 12-hour work schedule. I didn’t think I would be a "morning person" to wake up at 6AM and work out. The group fitness setting definitely motivated me to show up to every class and push myself through each and every exercise. Everyone in the class was so encouraging, and being able to see how much I improved every week pushed me even harder to drive for results to reach my goal.
Also, as a non-meat eater, it was a challenge to include foods in my diet that were high in protein. The meal plan was definitely easy to follow and really kept me on track with the macros my body needed to build muscle. I never really followed a meal plan, but I wanted to see what kind of results I would achieve if I stuck to the diet, and it worked! I definitely saw results, even after just 3 weeks! Different parts of my abdominals were starting to peak through, my arms were more toned, my pants were a little looser. My energy levels also improved and I became more excited to get up super early to work out before going to work.
I recommend this challenge at Alta Performance Institute to everyone! Putting yourself in a different environment will push you to challenge yourself and work hard to meet those goals you’ve been wanting to achieve. Just some small changes in your diet can make a huge impact on your physique, and I’m glad I got to work with coaches who were able to guide me through my nutrition goals. This challenge gave me that push I needed to get me back on track on my fitness journey and I can’t wait for more exciting workouts!

If you love a group fitness atmosphere and are ready to put the work in, Alta is the place for you! I used to go to the gym and would run on the treadmill and lift weights then come home and eat more than I should since my mentality was "I burned all those calories so I deserve to eat this cookie or these doughnuts". In no time I put on 20lbs and felt like I would never get back to my "prime". After joining Alta, they taught me how to dial in my nutrition and it was up to me to implement what I was taught. After participating in the 42 day challenge I lost 10lbs and 4% body fat. I now have the tools to reach my goals and I enjoy the workouts the coaches come up with.

I did the 6 week challenge a couple months ago and LOVED the workouts and personal guidance that Alta provides. The trainers are super knowledgeable and fun and I had great results after the challenge. The meal plan was flexible and gave me some variety and vegetarian options. My favorite part is the people though, goofy and kind hearted folks that will push you to be your best. I still workout at Alta!

Joined Alta's 6 well transformation program and had a great time! The coaches are all very encouraging and help to push you towards your goal. The work outs are good for any level as it's mostly a cross fit type of timed exercises which form your period of activity. These were good for me because it's not the kind of workout I do on my own. And again, the coaches ensured correct form and that we were pushing ourselves to do more or go up to the next weight. Overall, a great experience that I would recommend to anyone, regardless of prior fitness level, to help bring yourself to the weight, body physique, or energy level that you're looking for!

Joined the first group for the 6-week challenge and just finished up on Saturday. Overall hit my goal of 6% body fat loss and was really pleased with the program! The 'personalized' nutrition plan was a little light, seemed to focus on limiting portion size and pushing protein, but I do have to say that it worked given what I was able to shed. I'm used to a bit more nuanced approach and this wasn't strictly anything per se - I wish there had been a little more of a structured philosophy behind the nutrition plan.
The workouts were great, good focus on mobility and the ability to intensify based on skill level. I would often leave workouts wanting a bit more, and would sometimes stay for extra time on the bike or rowing machine, but felt fantastic throughout the program and never so depleted that I needed a few days to recover. Coach Aaron always encouraged this program as a way to enable the rest of what you do from a fitness perspective outside the gym, which it definitely did. I feel stronger and more able to tackle physical challenges than when I started.
The facility is just getting started - the weight room is in the process of being set up, can't wait to see it all come together!

Great group training gym, expanding from Salinas to Monterey. Helped me lose 21 pounds in 42 days, which in turn helped lower my blood pressure solidly back into "normal" range. I enjoyed the focus in mobility during training sessions since I was returning to an active lifestyle from a period of inactivity. Highly recommend 👍🏼
