My husband and I have been with Always In Motion for 5 years. I can not speak highly enough about them. They are very conscientious to design your program to benefit your individual needs; and they change your program every 6-8 weeks so you never get bored doing the same exercises. The facility is outstanding and the equipment 1st class. They also have interesting and informative health related events, with very knowledgeable speakers. Plus fun social gatherings. Another plus is that Always in Motion is age appropriate for those of us who no longer "Rock a Leotard"! If you are looking for private or group instruction or just a great place to work up a sweat, this is the place! Judi P.

I have never been a member of any fitness facility before joining Always in Motion. I saw their ad on Nextdoor, and what intrigued me was the photo of a class whose members looked like me--my age group and all body types! I called them up and signed up for a tour. I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff and their expertise in fitness training, physical therapy, diet and nutrition, and general wellness, all aimed at people 50 and over. I signed up for a Small Circuit class last November and have been re-enrolling in this class ever since. Our instructor Sami is the epitome of a great trainer--patient, kind, thorough, and encouraging, and with a great sense of humor.
When I wake up on class days, I may not feel like going to class, but I always do because I know I'm going to feel like a different person after class! Thank you, Always in Motion!

Always in Motion is an outstanding fitness and wellness center for ages 50+ in Huntington Beach. You immediately feel welcome and comfortable when you walk in the door. Not only does it have state-of-the-art equipment, it offers personal training, physical therapy and small group classes for strength, balance, mobility, stamina, bone density, and overall fitness led by physical therapists and active aging experts that are extremely dedicated and care about you. There is a real sense of community while you work out with people your age who want to keep fit and active. I cannot say enough about Always in Motion, everyone involved and the attention to detail that went into bringing and maintaining this first class facility.

This is beyond wonderful!! I have been working out for many decades. AIM is far better than any other gym/training location. Their classes are small so you can get to know other members and receive great feedback from instructors/ Dr.of Physical Therapy for people like me...over 50 years older. I LOVE IT

My husband and I have been members at Always in Motion for a few months. We have been members of several gyms over the last 50 years. Always in Motion is by far the best place. The gym is family owned, not a chain. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Lots of brand new machines which have been chosen with seniors in mind. Facility is always spotless.
We especially like the trainers who are also Doctors of Physical Therapy. Are our age, mid 70s, they can give us the custom work out we require.

Over my long lifetime, I joined several gyms. A couple were exclusive and a couple were at the opposite end. I finally found my perfect gym. It’s Always In Motion in Huntington Beach. I don’t go to the gym in fancy expensive clothes designed to show off my curves, which are now curvier than I like, I go because I know it’s good for me. Two days after I joined Always In Motion in January 2025, I fell over a ladder and broke my femur and my hip. After two weeks in the hospital and Medicare-provided physical therapy, I knew I needed something more concentrated if I was going to regain muscle and strength which was totally gone over 2 months. Always In Motion has a very highly educated and committed staff of physical therapists who have specific training in geriatric rehab. I signed on with one, Jake, who set up a personalized program to get me back walking normally and rebuild muscles lost from two months being bedridden. It was tough at first but with the variety of equipment that they have and the patient and challenging training I received I got stronger and stronger, and when I went back to the doctor for my 2nd postoperative visit he was absolutely amazed. He wanted to know all about my PT and basically told me that whatever we were doing just keep doing it —so I am! I am almost ready to dump my cane and resume a normal life after less than four months living with two titanium rods, and four screws in my leg. Always In Motion isn’t just for people recovering however, there is a large collection of “over the hill”people who are working out there to stay mobile. There’s a wide variety of programs and classes you can join and some really amazingly diverse equipment in a clean and welcoming environment. I am fortunate that my insurance program covers my monthly cost as it does for many people. If you’re over 50 and trying to keep yourself in good shape or get healthier and stronger, this might be your best option. I have really enjoyed talking to other older adults there as we all seem to have the same goals. It’s nice to be in an environment which isn’t a “meet market” geared to younger gym goers. There’s machines for everything you want to work out and free weights are in abundance.
This group has really helped me get back on my feet. I appreciate their commitment to my rehab and my life!

I'm a lifetime wheelchair user and had lived very actively and independently all my adult life until contracting Covid and subsequent long Covid in 2021. I felt I was becoming more and more incapable of caring for myself as well as depressed and socially withdrawn. A dear friend convinced me to visit AIM and I signed up for personal training with Jake to improve my core strength and mobility. It's been nearly 8 months and I could not be happier! The facility is beautiful and very assessable, Jake and the rest of the staff are amazing. Everyone is caring, respectful and friendly. I'm feeling so much better doing my activities of independent living and my mind is clearer with my depression lifting. It's a judgement free wellness center with encouraging, staff and happy clients.

Found the best gym for seniors!
Always in Motion, a new gym in Huntington Beach, (Warner and Goldenwest), is owned and operated by Doctors of Physical Therapy. You will find similar equipment that is used at PT and there is always at least one therapist present at the gym. Always in Motion offers classes in balance, stretching, strength training, cardio, etc. My trainer challenges me, yet I feel safe knowing these professionals know how to take care of my body. The gym is extremely clean and never too crowded. The staff is so nice and welcoming! They knew my name by the second time I came to the gym! Always in Motion is the real deal.

Not only is this a family run state of the art gym for those 50 and over, they have private and many group classes. Small group circuit, TRX Classes, stretching, yoga, core and osteoblast. I love the classes and the instructors. Medicare covers a basic membership with a few other levels of membership available. Active aging is their specialty!

The new gym/wellness center, Always in Motion, is just beautiful! Friendly, welcoming receptionists greet you when you walk in, and the gym is immaculate and tastefully decorated. Limited to the 50 and older crowd, it’s the perfect place to work on strength, balance and confidence. There are massage therapists that I’ve heard are very good, but I haven’t tried a massage yet.

Kelly has been my trainer twice a week for more than two years (starting at the Senior Center). She is encouraging, upbeat and knowledgeable. She’s very attentive to my arthritic hip and shoulder pain when it flares up, and has given me helpful instruction on how to adjust workouts to improve and strengthen my body. She is also a physical therapist, so she knows what she’s talking about.

I’m also taking the Osteo-blast class with Mark and it’s small (3-4 people), so we get individualized attention, even though it’s a class.

It’s a very friendly environment—staff and members—so if you feel intimidated or nervous about the thought of working out at a gym, check out Always in Motion—I can pretty much guarantee you will not feel that way here.

I heartily recommend Always in Motion.

I have been training with Always in Motion beginning at the Huntington Beach Senior Center and now as they have transitioned to their new facility at Warner and Golden West. I followed Always in Motion to their new home because they are very good at what they do; providing excellent, challenging training that is safe and effective. I love the classes, I am more fit and healthy than ever.

The new gym has state of the art equipment that is available for use with a gym membership that is often available through Silver Sneakers or other healthcare supported fitness programs. Fitness classes, nutritional counseling and personal training are available for additional costs.

The front office staff are friendly and professional. Trainers have a wealth of experience and knowledge and tailor programs to meet my needs and requirements.

Parking is free and readily available and the gym is right next door to Sprouts so you can be virtuous and buy healthy groceries at the end of your training session :)

I would highly recommend Always in Motion.

While working out in the gym or taking one of their classes you will find a very friendly atmosphere that enhances the experience. I always leave there glad I went and with a smile on my face.

I have had the pleasure of working with the team at Always in Motion for almost 5 years. They are, in my opinion, the best group of professional training and overall coaches in my quest to stay mobile and healthy as I get older. I am in better shape then when I was younger. I love the classes, I receive great feedback and get to enjoy the company of like minded people. We are all at different levels but there’s a respect and support that exists at Always in Motion. We are challenged but aware of where we are in the daily goal of exercise. I always get my questions and concerns addressed immediately when I’m trying to do a different type of exercise routine. I love it. It’s my happy place.
I highly recommend this business.

Lori Isaacs in less than half a year has transformed my body and my mental outlook. I came to her at 58 overweight with a variety of aches and pains, including sciatica and knee pain. She expertly evaluated my condition and then carefully constructed a series of ever-evolving workouts that push me with a variety of natural strength and TRX resistance drills. I look and feel like a new person. I am pain free and my body has been sculpted. I still cheat quite a bit with my diet but that is beyond Lori's control, haha. Lori is also very kind, a great listener--super intuitive. I really appreciate the time she puts into planning everyone's training schedules. She mixes it up so the body never gets bored with the same routines. I haven't worked with other AIM trainers but my husband now does and in a short time already has greater strength and reduced sciatica pain. I've worked with at least three other professional trainers over the years, including Matt Damon's former trainer. None of them have been able to deliver the same results as AIM.

I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s about 5 years ago. The ensuing years have not been fun with symptoms I was unable to control ,even with the help of many medications and a wonderful neurologist. My body became stiffer and my balance problems made it difficult to walk a straight line. Then I heard about a personal trainer named Kelly Isaacs. With a Phd in Exercise and specific training in Parkinson’s , she has guided and encouraged me through an exercise program that has dramatically improved my symptoms, even my neurologist has noticed vast and unexpected improvements. She is a phenomenal personal trainer !

Although I'm very impressed with everyone in this organization, I will confine my comments to Kelly, with whom I just finished 21 training sessions. I was hoping to get Kelly as a trainer because I would see her train with other Hoag Center clients and she was so incredibly attuned, empathic, and positive in her outlook. I found her to be very well-trained, professional, and yet caring with a good sense of humor. I was impressed with how much she seemed to think about my needs between sessions, and how well-prepared she was to implement fresh ideas. I hope to return to work with her in the spring. From my 36-year tenure in the healthcare field at USC, UCLA, and the VA, I've known many OT's and PT's in aging. Kelly is among one of the finest I've ever known.

i have been working out at always in motion with a personal trainer since the end of 2021
i began circuit classes in 2022
added a balance class 2022
added osteo class 2023
i continue with circuit classes, osteo class and personal training.
prior to the physical workouts with always in motion, i was taking an aqua aerobics class and walking

i was not able to do a single jumping jack, jump-in-place, push-up, squat, lunge, balance on one leg, jog, planks, go up four flights of stairs without resting between flights.
taking the classes and the focused personal training sessions i have increased what i can do.
last saturday, i walked with my group from the top of the music center (LA), down Bunker Hill to 7th street for lunch. After lunch, we walked back. up Bunker Hill. i beat the group back walking with my regular pace. i got my merch, my program, paced the lobby waiting for them, and then decided to get to my seat. years ago, when i worked DTLA, i would take the mini-bus up to the music center box office to buy my ticket.
thanks for the professional physical therapy team at always in motion, i can keep challenging my body. i will be 72 this december.

Review of Always in Motion physical therapy.
As an 86-year-old male, I could not walk without having a deep fear of falling. My balance was terrible and I had to rely on a walker to get by. Neuropathy robbed me of feeling anything but pain in my calves. After several falls requiring the aid of the Huntington Beach Emergency Response Team, I decided to enlist the aid of a balance specialist—one of my good decisions.
Justin Isaacs showed up on my doorstep. He was very personable. Justin explained the long-term and short-term plans for improving my balance.
We went to work on all of my balance systems, improving my posture and strengthening my leg muscles. Working with Justin has been not only pleasurable but also productive. He has a great sense of humor. He has never been late for a session, and when necessary, he will deviate from a planned lesson to explain or provide demonstrations of ancillary exercises.
His training paid off dividends for me recently when I fell in my house. I managed to get myself up by following the lessons Justin had instilled in me. If I had to point out any shortfalls in Justin, it is that he’s captured the heart of my dog who just loves him.

I just completed a few months of private PT with Kelly. I had so grateful for her instruction. A year ago i was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and felt pretty concerned about my activities . Now i feel much more hopeful and confident regarding my physical and mental activities. Kelly is extremely knowledgeable , caring, enthusiastic and committed to her clients. Its so reassuring to have a therapist that continues her education in areas such as balance, strength and aerobics activities that relate to PD as well as senior movement challenges.

I have been working with AIM since November 2021 but it was when I went from an 8 day backpacking trip to landing in the ER with sciatica the first day home that I truly realized the resource I had in AIM. Justin worked with me to go from scared to move - to knowing how to get myself into safe positions - to being empowered to push myself - to putting the whole experience in the rearview mirror and take an even more empowered role in my fitness and well being. A huge shout out to Justin and the team at AIM for bringing me all the way back.

I have worked out with Always in Motion for the. past 6 years. After each class I feel more energized and usually learn something about how my body works. Now at 82 I am needing a valve replacement done. Because of my conditioning over the years I am able to have the more non-invasive procedure done. My doctors tell me that I am in better condition than most people they see at my age>

I have been with Always in Motion since September of 2021. I initially started out with five personal training sessions with Mark Sheptock. Then I joined his Osteoblast Class to continue to try to improve my bone health.

I'm thrilled to report that I reversed my osteoporosis of my left hip to osteopenia in only four short months! Previously my T-score was -2.6. Now my T-score is -2.2. In the last five years whenever I'd have my bone scan, my numbers remained stable. This year I actually saw improvement. I know it was because I had been on Mark's program to help improve my bone density through weight-bearing exercises. His class is fun, educational, and inspiring!

My husband and son also see Mark for their physical therapy needs. We highly regard him as a trusted and true professional!

My sister turned me on to ALways In Motion classes during the pandemic when I was struggling with my home routine. These online, live classes are perfect for me because I get to learn new stretches and strengthening that I can do both in class as well as on my own other days of the week. Our instructor, Mark, is great- he’s a Physical Therapist, super knowledgeable, very upbeat and changes up our routine in very interesting and challenging ways. I have taken his Posture Perfect class for the last 18 months and it’s always fresh, and I’ve gotten stronger and more flexible because of it. I’ve also worked with Mark one on one when I was having painful problems with my hips and that helped me get back on track. I can’t recommend AIM more highly!

I am very fortunate to being taking classes and personal training with AIM. Low back issues have plagued me for several years. Some physical therapy had been working but the last therapist I had suggested I try another route either acupuncture or personal training. After getting connected with AIM and working with Kelly Isaacs as my personal trainer, I realized just how much work I had to do. It has been all worth it because she has helped to assess my issues and design programs that build strength and endurance so that I can do the activities I enjoy, such as walking, biking, working out, riding my horse. It is through her expertise and great care I have been able to live a better, quality life and for that I am grateful. In addition, I have also been taking the Posture Perfect class to support by back issues led by Mark Shiptock. Mark’s class has taught me additional tools for posture that I wish I had learned many years go. Doing the virtual classes with both Kelly and Mark has been great. I don’t miss going to the gym at all. Both are extremely attentive as if we were in person. I consider myself a member of the AIM family!

My husband and I have been Always in Motion clients since 2017. With the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic and the need to remain “safer at home”, AIM’s ability to switch to a virtual format was a lifesaver.

All of the AIM team is positive, upbeat, encouraging and have a terrific sense of humor. I particularly enjoy the Small Group Circuit classes. This is an excellent class that gets cardio and strength training completed in a fun, energizing format. Many activities “multi-task” working the brain and body simultaneously. Lori provides multiple options for each activity. The Small Group Circuit class has created a community of positive, individuals working out together to challenge ourselves. The Small Group Circuit class allows me to stay healthy and socially connected while continuing to work on my fitness goals.

My husband and I also enjoy the Deep Stretch class offered by Dr. Kelly. This is an excellent “head to toe” workout focused on flexibility and mobility. Dr. Kelly provides multiple options for each movement as well as focusing on our breathing during exercise. We have been happy to notice reduced tightness and increased range of motion after only a few class sessions.

We have utilized the free technical support that AIM offers, and along with some humor, we have successfully adapted to the virtual fitness programs offered. My husband is hard of hearing and we’re grateful for the AIM team guiding us through accommodations to ensure he is able to fully participate virtually. It helps that the online platform they have chosen provides closed captioning as well!

Thank you AIM for professional fitness programs and expertise! Our health – both physical and mental – is better for it!

This review is long overdue. I've been a client of Always in Motion for about the last 2 years or so. I personally have worked w/ Justin on and off for personal training. He is absolutely amazing. Recently in Dec of 2019 I took a bad fall which left me in critical condition (ICU). When I returned home in January I was wheelchair bound, had a caregiver, and unable to care for myself, even w/ the smallest tasks. At my age 85, I thought I'd never walk again or be able to care for myself. I was advised by my Dr to go to physical therapy. After trying numerous physical therapists for a couple months, I was not improving. My balance was still off and I didn't feel as though I was making any progress. My daughter then contacted Justin my previous personal trainer whom I had worked w/ prior to my fall. He took me on as a client again. Immediately, I began working w/ him & I started to see improvement. Within a month I was out of my wheelchair, using a walker, and able to partially care for myself even w/the smallest tasks. Fast Forward to the present day, I'm able to get up and down off the ground safely, able to reach for things, lift things, I have more balance, feel stronger, more confidence, able to care for myself completely, and I have more physical strength. I owe it all to Justin and his hard work which continues today as I still receive personal training on a regular basis. Not only has Justin helped me with my physical strength but also emotionally. He is very supportive, caring, encouraging and a positive person. The whole team at Always in Motion is amazing!! I highly recommend them for personal training. What a caring group of people. They genuinely care about their clients and have big hearts.

This is an amazing team of personal trainers and physical therapists who really care about their clients and go above and beyond. They have a positive attitude and empower each individual client to achieve their goals. The team at AIM are so compassionate and caring about each individual client. They are an amazing group of professionals who take the time with each client to understand their needs, desires and goals. I have personally worked with Justin and Lori for personal training and loved every minute of my training. They helped me to reach my goals. They challenge you and have a great variety of exercises. They will accommodate the exercise to meet your needs at that time. They go through the exercises with you and are very supportive and encouraging. What an amazing team of professionals who really care about each individual client. I feel so blessed to have been able to train with them and look forward to returning when I am able to. Thank you so much to the AIM Team.

This group of professional, caring trainers and therapists provide a way to age well. I have trained with them since 2017 and am stronger and more flexible because of their personalized instruction. Training with physical therapists makes such a difference. I am always instructed in a variety of safe exercises to challenge myself and the classes are never repetitive from month to month to keep it interesting. The transition from in-person to online classes was very smooth thanks to clear instructions and technical support.

I had a few goals when I started working with AIM a year and a half ago, the top goal being to exhaust myself so I could sleep at night. I was running through grief and I needed help to make sure I set goals and had direction and stayed injury free. With Lori I found someone who was strong enough, professional enough, and caring enough to help lead me through those hard months. And on days when I had private lessons with her, I always slept. Through the community she built at AIM I have found a core group of strong, smart, compassionate women who I now happily call friends. We lift each other up. Saying thank you seems so small in return, but thank you very much Lori, and thank you to the AIM community. Much love.

Before working out with Always in Motion, I was dealing with a serious knee issue which caused me a lot of pain. It was painful to perform daily activities, such as walking and going up a flight of stairs.

The Doctors of Physical Therapy and the other Movement Specialists at Always in Motion, taught me how to move and exercise without aggravating my knee. They used live instruction and feedback to teach me the correct form and which muscles I should be using for each movement.

I am now walking several miles each day without pain. I have 100% confidence in the instructors and the exercise programs at Always in Motion.

And... one more thing... It’s fun. Give it a try!

Both my husband and I have been working out with trainers from Always in Motion for over a year. Started off at The Senior Center in Huntington Beach and now with COVID-19 going on we are doing our workouts virtually from our own home. We have nothing but praise for both Justin and Mark. They are always professional. They are fun to work with and have taught us some great exercises to keep us healthy and build strength. Their knowledge and the care given to each of us has made working out a very positive experience. I would highly recommend this company to anyone that wants a positive, safe workout.

I’ve done about 5 small group classes with Always in Motion. They have all been enjoyable n challenging. N when they say “small” group, the classes very SMALL (I don’t think they have more than 8 people in a class) so the trainer is able to truly give everyone personal attention. If anyone needs help or to have their form improved the trainer is easily able to help them.
The customer service, from the office, is GREAT (which is very hard to find lately). They are friendly n helpful, with very pleasant attitudes. So any questions or conflicts are easily resolved. The office staff make very good recommendations for future classes, and provide all the details needed before the class.
Highly Recommend this company!!
