I found American Warrior Karate after being away from martial arts for about 15 years. I got my black belt in high school but stopped training right around finishing college. I had potential as sport Karate competitor but never fully realized it. It was on my bucket list to get back onto the tournament circuit and find success. I'm so glad I found American Warrior Karate. Here was a positive oasis of effective training and a supportive environment that I thrived in. I used to drive an hour and a half to and from this place after a long hard day of work and I went 6 days a week! You don't drive that far and show up 6 days a week if you don't love it! And I loved it!!!! Sensei Steve Wray does everything with a purpose. Many Karate schools create students who struggle when it comes time to compete at a tournament or engage in an actual fight. Not at AWK! The drills are all focused to solve particular challenges that can come up in competition or in real life self-defense. Nothing there is random. My skills as a competitor were forged in the flames of AWK, and years later I won gold at the W.M.O. World Championships. Sensei Steve Wray played a huge role in my success and I am so grateful to him for that! The environment is wholesome, positive, motivating, and most importantly, FUN! I'd go in there feeling drained and come out feeling like superman. If you have children who want to try out Karate or you want to try it out yourself, check this place out! You'll love it!

I have been involved in martial arts for over 50 years. I have known Sensei Steve Wray of AWK for 25 years. I took my own son to Sensei Steve, to learn quality sport karate. He excelled due to the quality instruction of Steve Wray. I have always been impressed with his school … the standards of conduct & respect there, as well as the positive learning environment that is always present to teach quality martial arts as well as personal enrichment.

I been coming to this dojo for about 3 years me my kids and my siblings love to come and be part of this dojo the instructor is awesome with adults and kids the instructors speak Spanish and English my daughter and son are 6 and 7 years blue belts old and they love coming learning self defense and sparing , I have learned soo much since I been here I learned self defense and techniques for fighting I’m so confident with my fighting thanks to my senses and the instructor if ur looking a good dojo to learn fighting techniques karate and self defense this is the place for u guaranteed

This school is a great learning environment for kids. Your kids will learn discipline, how to be respectful, and self-defense. You will see improvements every week in their technical skill and in their confidence. As an adult, training here is challenging but rewarding.
Overall, this school has something valuable to offer anyone, regardless of your age or stage in life/training.
