There are too many kids for each expensive class.
The kids didn't get a head in swimming, and to try to cancel you need a month in advance before paying.
I would recommend seriously to try to find a good coach before you commit to them.

When we contacted them 3rd time they responded very kindly and we ended our relationship very nicely

Based on our experience so far, I would identify our the process a scam.
In swimming class, half an hour, 5 minutes in the slide (actually not even using all of it), 5 minutes playing with the toys around (pumpkin when it is the season). The class is actually 20 minutes all these taken into account. Our coach is just rushing to go out.

Apart from these, the kids in out group are doing the same things over and over again for months now. Of course we followed up. Our child may be not learning well. They said they would look into the program. Next week, the supervisor who told us this was out. He didn't appear again.

They design these programs also so that you will be owed some kind of a fee or charged a penalty that you just cannot leave. When you can do that, as I said above, months are lost.

The point of learning with a professional where there are peers is that children will be exposed to skills and techniques of valuable skills while having the advantages of social learning. You will also learn from your peers, engage with them, have fun with them.
This does not work if the program and the instructor are trying to get the learner out as soon as possible while investing minimal effort.

Was inside the front of the swim facility and witnessed Nicolas (red head) rip line up circles away from kids scolding them on not to touch them. (The kids looked to be about 2 years old). He’s completely unprofessional, and shouldn’t be working at a kids facility the way he acts in front of customers. Do not recommend.

In American swim program, my son's coach rarely provides corrections or guidance. She often doesn't pay attention when children are swimming. As a result, the kids keep making the same mistakes and have difficulty improving or leveling up. It also appears she gives attention only to certain children while ignoring others, including my son.

I’m not sure how long the older lady at the front desk of the swimming pool has been working there. She seems new, as she forgot what I asked her and couldn’t answer my questions—instead, she kept repeating the same response.

Her attitude was also quite rude, especially for someone working at the front desk. When customers ask more questions, she appears impatient and unhelpful.

Later on, I spoke with another front desk staff member who was younger but seemed more experienced and much friendlier. However, the older lady immediately came over to listen to our conversation, which made me feel uncomfortable.

We’ve always had good experiences with AKIM in the past, but this encounter with the older front desk staff is the first time I’ve felt the need to take stars away from the facility.

My daughter took a total of 5 classes. Everytime I brought her I’ve asked a (5)different front desk person, about the pool, what the PH balance is, who cleans the pool, basic pool cleanliness. Almost all of them have flat out told me “I don’t know” and the last time I asked Eileen and she told us “I’m not maintenance” super rudely. She works at a swim center, my mistake for thinking she’d had information on the pool

Coaches aren’t friendly and it’s a very clique driven environment. We’ve never been spoken to about what our child does or doesn’t do well and coaches act like you’re wasting their time if you ask. Stephanie, the manager, is unapproachable. We’ve asked to have our child evaluated more than once and she never calls. We’ve seen so little growth from our child, it feels like a complete waste of time and money. There are other much more professional, accomplished, and encouraging gyms in town. Please do yourself and your child a favor and shop around!

The old lady who works at the front desk at little dance studio is so horrible and rude. She can’t help solve problems at all. Every single words that she said, really offended people. I wonder what’s the background of that lady, how does she get the job? I hope the company can fire her, and change to a useful person to work there.

My son has had a great experience! We all know 4 year old boys can be a little crazy at times but they are very patient. My son has been with AKIM a little over a year and is already learning his strokes. The best part is it’s year around so his skills are continually growing. Highly recommend the year around swimming!

This place is so nice. The pool is on the other side of glass so it’s quiet but you can still see everything. They have snacks for sale and anything you could need for swim lessons.

If you go through CVRC, it may be free as well.

My only complaint is the parking. I’m not sure what they were thinking putting so many kids places so close together with so few parking spaces.

This used to be a great place. They were always kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating. After COVID, however, it has gone way downhill. No more makeups if you need to miss class for illness or travel- even you call in advance and there’s room in another class. Why wouldn’t they allow this if the other classes have room?
The summer camp seems like they keep them in the pool most of the day, which isn’t at all what we signed up for. My child was sent home within the first few hours of a camp day (which cost almost $75 per day), when I spoke to her she said she felt fine and begged to stay, which hurt my mama heart, but I also understand that sick kids shouldn’t mingle with well kids. The camp leader stated that she couldn’t stay b/c she had thrown up, “but it was in her mouth?” and “felt hot to her.” She said that they don’t have thermometers to check, so she needed to be picked up b/c they couldn’t verify whether or not she had a fever. I tried to be understanding and went right away to pick her up. I asked if she could make up the day since she had just gotten there and they had plenty of room other days this summer, I was told that I could bring her another day but I’d have to pay full price for it. Now I’m getting frustrated. Then I get her home and her temp is 97.9 and she feels perfectly fine, no issues, playful and dancing around the house all day. I understand having a sick policy, but why wouldn’t they allow a makeup day for a kid who was taken out of camp first thing in the morning for an unverified illness? Poor customer service and definitely not putting the kids first. I get that it’s a business and needs to be lucrative, but they have taken the money issue too far. Seems like greed has really taken ahold of these owner’s hearts.

I chose this school because they offered make up classes. We are frequently sick especially since covid and other illnesses were going around. Unfortunately, they suddenly changed that policy shortly after I paid the annual fee. They did not offer any compensation in any way and did not care if parents were displeased. I honestly would not have chosen this school if they had not advertised that they offer make up classes.
My child attended for SEVERAL months. They barely learned anything and never learned how to float. They learn that much much later. The lessons would be 25-30 min long and 10-20 would be wasted in some way by the instructors. It was a very chaotic environment and stressful. Instructors would have large groups of kids. I would frequently witness kids drowning-struggling to stay afloat and gasping for air because the instructors were not watching them either chatting with staff, staring off into space or just looking at another child because there were too many for them. And they would teach my child the same thing over and over even when they knew it already and were taught the same thing for over a month. After they graduate a level (at the very least a month if the instructor remembers to test them) they get to ring a bell and take a picture on an award step. But not always, it was only if the instructor had the time and happened to remember. It was disappointing for kids and parents. Instructors change often or would be absent often which added to the confusion.
Interacting with staff was very stressful as everything was usually chaotic and mismanaged but I don't think any of them were ever mean.
I would suggest the excelerated lessons, I believe a week long. Children seemed to learn more in that than my child did in the many months and many many lessons we attended. Also, be careful in the parking lot. It is very awkward and there is not enough parking nearby.

We've been swimming here for a year and half. It has a nice environment and some good coaches. But this school has grown too unorganized and cocky for us.

1. You have to know the coaches (we know Jesse and Daniel are both very good), some of them know very little about children or teaching;

2. The program lasts ridiculously long, it takes forever for them to move on to the next level. My 2 nieces learned how to swim in Sanger community pool in just 2 weeks during the summer for $40 only, when it took my son a whole year paying big bucks in this school;

3. Ninja classes no longer issue makeup tokens, if your child is sick or anything, too bad!!! If you have to send your child here, look for Mason, he's the best Ninja coach. My son went back for him beginning of September and had to miss a class, we can't get a token because the school sent out an email in July about policy change. Don't you think parents should be informed when signing up for the class??? They don't care!!!

4. If you have any issues and ask for administration, you'll be told they are ALL in a meeting out of the state. You can wait for them to call or email you, which never happens!!!

5. When you take a break and reenroll your kid, be careful! you may be double charged for another yearly fee of $30, I had to waste my time and call many times about it. Also, they won't reimburse you because it's school "POLICY"!!!

6. When you have tech issues on their app for 2 weeks, multiple phone calls have been made about the problem, of course nothing gets resolved, it's automatically YOUR problem, because it works for everybody else just FINE!!! Says the receptionist;

This school has grown too big to care about our children's needs. They are all about money 💰, and we are going somewhere else. I suggest you do the same.

Depending on your coach that you get they will spend an equal amount of time with each child. There are some coaches that don't spend equal time with each child, so that child doesn't get improvement. Also, if you miss a class due to medical or anything else they don't offer make up classes so you loose out on that money for that week. It sucks when you have more than 1 child in the program. Keep looking for a different swim class. This is our last month here.

My daughter nearly drowned, twice, at America’s Kids Swim School over the course of 8 lessons.

The first incident happened on the first day of class when the kids were given kick boards during “free play.” My daughter has never used a kick board before and was given no instruction on how to hold it or use it to keep herself buoyant. I watched her struggle with the kick board for probably 30 seconds. The board went under the water, back up going under the water and back up gasping for air. The instructor was totally unaware and finally saw her as I was about to run over there to prevent my child from drowning.

My daughter was obviously shaken up from this experience, but after consoling her and talking it through, I stupidly decided to finish out the two week course of lessons.

We missed lesson #7 and returned for lesson #8 to a new instructor. This instructor had never met my daughter or seen her capability in the water. She informed the kids at the beginning of class that they would not be using kick boards and they would be swimming across the pool and back “without help.”

My daughter is a beginner swimmer. She has never “swam” more than a few feet by herself without help and lessons 1-6 were spent practicing with a kick board with the help of an instructor. After hearing what was asked of her, she became anxious and accidentally began swimming prior to it being her turn. The instructor did not see her, she began sinking and gasping for air, inhaling water, when the teacher finally sees her and grabs her. Instead of attending to my child who is coughing up water and crying hysterically, she tells my seven year old that she went it wasn’t her turn. No compassion, no offering comfort or ensuring that she’s okay, she lectured her.

I went in to the pool to get my daughter and the instructor deliberately refused to acknowledge me or my daughter as I get her out and console her. My daughter proceeded to cough and cry, struggling to breathe normally for 30 minutes after that incident. She has been talking about how she thought she was going to die at swimming lessons and now is deeply afraid of the water for the first time in her life. We’ve been to Bullfrog and Seahorse Swim School in the past and have never experienced anything remotely like this.

The swim director, Jessie, has been made aware of what happened by her staff and has had a week to return my calls prior me writing this review. She has not done so.

Avoid America’s Kids Swim School if you value your children’s physical and emotional safety.

Slush machines available and treats available but for a price. Play areas for all children. Clean toilets and changing rooms. Items on sale for swimming lessons are over priced, so u will have to pay more for them than you would in the shops. Toys are also on sale. Kids are happy here, but I think it’s a bit over priced. My almost 4 year old son just completed his 2 week swim school and guess what, he can’t swim! The curriculum is so slow it’s ridiculous. My nephew who is the same age completed the coarse with him and his current swimming skills are just as weak .
Do you want your kid to really learn to swim? Or would you like to drive them back and fourth for maybe months and pay the big bucks again and again to learn a skill that children have learned in the past during the course of about 4 days?? They didn’t teach the boys how to come up for air and they encouraged them NOT to use their arms while swimming?? I spoke to another mother who had been taking her child to the same school for the past 3 years (year around) and she is still not confident in her child’s swim skill. Her child does not know how to swim and come up for air. Her child is 5 years old.
I complained to the coordinator , Sarah , and she was certain that it was the only correct way to teach a child how to swim, she explained that after I pay more and re-enroll him they will eventually teach him how to roll over on his back to breath and they will not dare teach him something so dangerous as paddling his hands to come up for air in the middle of swim. I’m happy they teach floating on the back as this is a important life saving skill. However, it should not take place of the basic skill of coming up for air before making it to the edge.
There are many excellent teachers who get children to swim in a fraction of the time. Let’s not forget swimming is a safety matter. There are far too many swimming accidents in the U.S. When I mentioned this to Sarah the corrdinator, she snickered at me and said, “you really expect your child to have enough skill to save his own life in the case of an accident after 2 weeks of swim lessons???” Not with their curriculum clearly. Later a friend told me she took her daughter to the same school with a similar experience after the 2 week course. So she enrolled her daughter in Jan Thomas swim school who had her swimming in less then a week. Good thing too, because the girls on the swim teem now and does nothing but win all the time (Olympian status). I will be bringing my son else where as well.
Apart from my personal experience with the 2 week course, the facility is very nice and the staff is quite pleasant.

I would recommend every parent to admit their child at this swimming school. The only reason I do not give this place a 5-star is because, the education depends on the teacher you get. Some teachers are better, some are not.

Nephew is doing the summer quick start swim sessions. Quality of classes all depends on the teacher and how many kids in the group.

The staff was absolutely wonderful with both of my kids. They took the time to answer all of my questions, pit together comprehensive lessons in place for the kids and me feel welcome as though I had be going there for years.

They were offering swim lessons at a few local high schools for the summer and I signed my niece up for the high school closest to where we live. The night before her first lesson, I received a text message saying lessons were cancelled. I called them and they were no longer offering swim lessons for the high school I selected. They gave me alternatives, but the alternative location and time session was not going to work, therefore I requested a refund. Adam the receptionist told me they will honor the refund (it was going to take 3-4 days) since it was their fault for canceling and that was on Monday. I have been receiving calls since Monday, twice a day to see if I want to re-schedule from various employees. I just called them back to stop harassing us about attending a different session. He apologized and said they would prefer to not give the refund, but he understands then said it was going to take 3-4 days for the refund. Really?! If you had done it on Monday I would have received the refund already. Please respect your customers wish if it is your fault for cancelling.

My daughters both went here when they were young. I will say besides recently killing a child they were below standards for professionalism and supervision.

If I could give a zero review, I will.

I brought my son to morning class. I checked tumble website before there and it was said the class that time still open. But when I arrived there, the teacher told me there is no opening for this class.

But later a lady said OK to enroll and brought my son into gym. When my son was asked on the bar, he was a little scared and did not want to continue. The teacher forced him to do, and finally made my son scream. Then the teacher pressed and hold my son's mouth! I was so shocked that teacher did this! She did not listen to what student's want and no any patience to kids! She is so terrible! I was really so regret to bring my son there to have a such terrible experience.

This teacher definitely is not qualified teacher! I will never bring my son there.

I was reluctant to try this place after reading the previous review. My daughter had her first swim instruction last night and I was pleasantly suprised. The entire session was a positive experience. The online registration was easy. We were greeted warmly by the front desk and were given a detailed orientation of what to expect. The restrooms and dressing rooms were clean, spacious and family friendly. The parent sitting area/lobby was laid-out nicely and stocked with some healthy snacks. The group rotations were well organized. The two instructors I met last night exhibited the perfect balance of flexibility, fun and effective instruction. The overall atmosphere is very welcoming. Most importantly, my daughter had a great time while learning something new. Based on a first impression, I would definitely recommend this facility to family and friends.
