This is my second time at this gym. The members are all really nice, and man there are some absolute units and some serious monsters in here, thereβs no way you come in here and not catch a vibe for a great workout.
Great stand alone gym, itβs big, but not so big that there are a bunch of rooms and youβre looking for your next exercise between sets. All the equipment is laid out in a master plan and you really get lost in the session because you just flow from one spot to the next without thinking. I came in on a Saturday this time and the floor and bathrooms were still clean.
Showers are big, plenty of flow and hot water, and they have more than one.
The music is pretty loud, that is all I can think of in the way of criticism. As a guest though, I imagine this is how the members like it and thatβs cool. Iβm just stopping in and at least itβs pretty decent tunes.

My husband and I have been traveling for the last month and I have been to several Anytime Fitness gyms along our journey. The Anytime Fitness in Barstow is by far the best! It was very clean, people were nice and this gym had a lot of equipment to meet your workout needs. The layout of the gym was also amazing. I would like to add that Levi the manager at this location is doing a great job! Maybe he could be promoted to oversee other Anytime Fitness gyms.

Iβm a truck driver trying to stay fit, so I got an Anytime membership a few months ago, in that time Iβve probably been to 25-30 different Anytime facilities across the country. The one in Barstow is BY FAR the best. Best and biggest assortment of equipment, best layout, best supplement selection, best showers, and last but not least, best overall vibe. I got to meet the owner Matthew, and for the first time since I acquired my membership, I got to meet someone that works at an Anytime Fitness that looks the part. I could tell he actually gives a shit about fitness, which was highly refreshing. Keep it up!

Terrible customer service. Associates in this facility are unwilling to cancel a simple gym membership. A minor signed the agreement and are threatening to send a minor to collections if it's not paid in full. Aside from unprofessional, also illegal practices.
Edit: We brought the ID into the facility and were advised to call corporate because you were unable to do anything on your end. Apart from unprofessional you're also lying as well? The minor has had their ID at hand to prove this with no issue. Your other options were for the minor to go to collections, pay the full amount or transfer service to someone else. How helpful is that? All for a gym membership that your team could have cancelled immediately, but decided to give us the run-around so of course it was upsetting.
A minor can sign up online and your facility has no way to enforce their age restrictions? Not even ask for ID? How convenient to blame the user when the service provider can't even uphold their own club rules or California law that minors can't be held to a legally binding agreement if no one over the age of 18 co-signed with them.

This gym is a ripoff I found out they took off my son membership and another $63 and other fee they never explained it to me then I call them and the lady on the phone said they refund it back in 3 days since from that day I never heard from them again and plus they donβt have any classes and the room so small and they have a starring problem and plus I went to LA fitness they have a membership for $34.99 and 2 free quest same thing with Chuze fitness I love those two gyms they have all the classes with the same price and Iβll never forget them

I'm always traveling with work and having Anytime Fitness is nice. It's a nice gym looks brand new nice equipment plenty of weights I left it a four star because there's a lot of equipment made it just a little cramped with many people are there. It's usually pretty busy anytime I'm there. There was a couple times where I had to wait so I can get on a machine because people are on their phones holding it up. But no big deal I kept doing another set until it cleared up it's a public gym after all so can't complain . Would be nice if they had some more lockable lockers other than all that it was a good workout.

From word of mouth, my fiance's mouth- they sign you up for a 2-year contract. I'm not sure if that always happens but I didn't like it. My fiance likes the gym but my future mom in law did not because it did not have the type of machines that she is able to use and benefit from. I didn't hear any other negative things except the fact that they have that contract. One day, I will check it out myself and see how it goes and I will decide if I want to continue after viewing, or just leave it alone in general.
To add to this review, it is good that you understood her situation and I appreciate that, and that makes me feel a little better about the situation. When I am in the area, I will still check it out for myself and go from there. Thanks

I was a member there for a couple months but they canceled my membership because I complained to corporate. A LOT of members letting in nonpaying people with them. I know they are working on that problem but it was still really crowded. On the up side they have really good A/C! Their main focus seems to be weights. The staff was helpful but unable to address our issues, so they canceled both mine and my son's membership. Well it's okay. I know that most members are happy and enjoying the gym..especially the ones they let in free.

I am a former championship natural bodybuilder who has lost his way for seven years now, since Iβve joined anytime fitness Iβve lost 20 pounds and I am at my intermediate bodybuilding workout level. Thatβs pretty good for someone whoβs 58 I feel so good and strong again and Iβm able to run around with my grandchildren. Belong to Anytime fitness in Barstow, I went to the Other Anytime Fitness in the High Desert and I must say that Barstow superseded by far my expectation. From the staff, equipment, Size, and the people who come to workout. In the months Iβve workout at the Barstow location itβs the best in the high desert.

It is not often that I would choose to drive further to work to stay near a gym to train in.
The anytime fitness gym in Barstow I will not move from this city because of this gym. I been going to the gym over 20 years and this is by far one of the top gyms I have been in the layout flows no one stepping over anyone to use equipment. The quality of the equipment no sparing on cost too equipment in this gym you can achieve all levels of fitness restrooms showers whole facilities the best.parking available and nutrition store inside for your health needs and experts to help the staff always so polite and there to help I personally have made this my home gym I recommend this gym to anyone needing too improve your health mind and spirit s glad someone finally did a gym the way it should be done thank you any time fitness Barstow and thanks to Matt for getting it done for us

The gym here is a great space for any kind of goals that you have. It is consistently clean and the weights are put back in the right place. The equipment is pretty new and modern. There are various machine equipment, TRX, kettlebells, TRX bands, TRX rollers, cardio machines, squat racks, bench you name it they more than likely have it. Membership is a really fair price for what you get. And they also sell supplements. Highly recommended!!

Great place to workout at and itβs open 24/7. Thereβs tanning beds, free weights, machines, a dance studio as well. Place is well maintained. I workout in the early mornings and on the days I work, I workout in the late evenings and thereβs always someone cleaning the floors and equipment. You are locked in at your membership fee for two years and can do whatever youβd like with it after that time period whether you want to stay or leave. I wish their price was a little cheaper, but you also have access to its other chains so it kind of makes up for it. I like their classes they offer as well, yoga, Zumba, Pilates. Nutritional store right next to it as well.

Well after reading some of the reviews I thought wow a little overly reacting, I can't speak for anyone else but for me I was satisfied friendly people they help you when you need it and then pretty much keep to themselves. I really like that on Google when type in there name it shows you when they are the busiest so you can plan your workout accordingly and that works for me. This place is anti-family, anti-military and anti-female.
What a joke. The "manager" is a creepy little woman, who has very little to no personality. She's all smiles and grins with the men who come in, but has a snotty tone in her voice and mannerisms when it comes to dealing with women.
Been going to this gym off and on now for over a year. Recently got in touch with a personal trainer (Victor). He's the only thing I'm going to miss! Keep on keeping on Victor!
Joined because the owner's daughter went to school with our oldest son and felt like I wanted to support a local business owner. My only question to him is "where do find your managers?" My experience is that they are all women haters. I would get "eye balled" by them, to the point I felt uncomfortable.
Last Straw. Enrolled my 10 year old son in "fit camp". I specifically asked the question "Do I have to be here while he is in class?" The instructor Kyle told me that I could drop him off for camp. So first day I dropped him off and ran some local errands. I'm by myself working 2 jobs and taking care of 2 young boys while my husband is in Afghanistan. So I took advantage of a minute to run to the store.
Second day, I dropped him off ran some errands went to pick him up but no one was in the class. Was informed that class had been cancelled at the last minute and that my son had been waiting in the office. I asked why no one called me. She apparently had the wrong number on file and my son forgot his phone.
So today I dropped him off at the gym, he was 10 minutes early for "Zumba" class fit camp. Got a call from their office, and was explicitly told that the gym cannot watch my child. She was pretty snotty on the phone, didn't even call my son by his correct name. I explained that the instructor said that I could, the women in the office treated me like I was being a bad mother by leaving him for "fit camp" so I totally took their snotty comments personally. The conversation degraded and I told them I no long want them to have any of my families hard earned money and pulled all of us out.
I'm a veteran myself, been deployed twice and have honorably served in the military for over 22 years. The creepy little manager asked why I was so aggressive...perhaps because I'm a battle hardened soldier???? I have a very low BS factor, it was reached today.

Equipment is in good shape. Good location with plenty of parking. Gym was not as clean as many ATF gyms we have used. Showers are separate from rest rooms with no sink in shower area. The showers were not real clean (just okay) - and no hot water. We were just passing through the area.
