I have been a member here for about 2 years and I really enjoy this gym! There is a large variety of equipment and areas to work out. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. Jonny is very nice and always has answers to my questions. My favorite part is how it is always open! I enjoy working out at odd times so the accessibility is so appreciated. If you're looking for a new gym, I recommend AF!!

I love counting on coming into the gym and being greeted with smiles and hellos by the office employees. They are always very helpful and very kind. This gym has a strong sense of community similar to a small town gym and I have never had a bad experience here. This is the cleanest gym I have ever been to and I really enjoy the layout of the equipment as well. The cleaning sprays are always full and the rags are always clean which I enjoy. I especially enjoy the concept off rags over paper towels since there is zero waste.

restrooms are filthy and showers are pungent of a urine smell you can literally see urine on the walls. it seems like the workers are only focused on getting clients for coaching. if your going to spend a lot of money on a gym go to inmo or save your money and go to planet fitness in chico where they actually clean their facility daily and equipment isn’t falling apart.

My wife is a CSU professor and I run businesses in Vacaville. She is also an ER nurse for a major hospital chain and as a firefighter, I bring her patients when my shifts coincide with hers. We are busy people. Previously I was a member of InShape and then also what used to be Gold’s, she was a member of InMo in Chico. After getting married it only made sense for us to have a membership together in a system that offered gyms in the locations we are at the most. That being said, Anytime Fitness has worked for us the past couple years, but for some reason the management at the Chico locations has some pretentious notion that their gyms outclass all others in the chain, and that they deserve a separate tier of membership dues double what we pay for ours that is closer to the Bay.

This started sometime last year after my wife and I started to go to the location in Chico, and then she went by herself a few times in the same week when she was having to stay in the area for university business. She told me that the “manager” was making her feel uncomfortable with the attention he was giving her while she was working out and made it clear that he was the one in charge there. This was in a conversation where I gave him the benefit of the doubt and figured that he was just being attentive to his patrons. In a separate conversation after she had been there a couple more times alone, she said that the manager was harassing her and being rude, claiming that she couldn’t be there because she was paying X amount for her dues, and their monthly membership was more, even though when we signed up, we were told that we would have access to all clubs. She suspected that this was because she didn’t give him the attention that he was seeking in their initial encounters, and eventually in a later visit, she found that he had disabled her key fob. We took up the issue with the manager at the first location we signed up at, and they said that we would have to settle it with the manager of the Chico location as they had control of access to those gyms. Mind you, at this point, my wife has been locked out of the Chico gym for the greater part of a year, possibly longer.

Today, my wife tells me that she tried to have a civilized conversation with the manager of the Chico locations in a phone call in which he repeatedly dismissed her concerns, despite her bringing up some very valid points that; we were already members, have no problem frequenting other locations a couple times a week with the exception of the ones in Chico, that good members who can put a hard work out without being douche bags attract more good members, and that the monthly fees they are asking for are close to what InMotion charges. Unlike InMotion, Anytime does not have amenities like pools and saunas, nor do they have the gym culture or eye candy that in motion attracts to warrant those fees.

Your business is your business and you can run it how you like, but get real if you expect to receive the respect and payment you’re demanding. Your locations are smaller and more cramped than other Anytime locations. Your locations are incoherently arranged by comparison and your equipment is more dated. In places like that, the least you should be able to say is that the manager makes you feel welcome. After the conversation today, my wife went and signed us up for planet fitness for $14 to cover us for the day or two per week we are in Chico. Your pretentious money grab might work for some, but not for us. My guess is, your dues are so high because you’re making up for membership levels that aren’t so hot. Maybe a better attitude towards your patrons might help instead of chasing them off over a difference in dues when they’re only there every so often.

I was a member in 2012 under the old.ownership and this place is not the same at all. Every Month I get late charges when my account has money in it I've sent my bank statement via email to prove that. I've never seen a declined payment from anytime fitness on my bank statement for Insufficient funds they claimed I changed my bank card but they have my bank account number the card don't matter. I stopped even trying to prove them wrong on that issue and just paid the late fees like im so done being told something is wrong when im looking at my account and why they cant pull a 27.99 payment is ridiculous. I don't even get to use the membership but maybe 1 time a month as I'm a single parent full time.student and employed. When I did get to go in there I could only find one set of gloves for boxing, all the weights are all over the place, the shower is not working for months, no lockers for your stuff to be kept safe. The carpets stink when you are stretching and there is no staff to really help or motivate you. In fact the chico anytime has the rudest most stuck up disrespectful staff of all and these young kids treat members that have been coming to that gym longer than they been able to play on tik tok and call it working. They have worst customer relations I've ever witnessed and it's no wonder none of my gym pals go there anymore. At one time I had signed up 40 members to this gym and they loved it. I know 6 people that go here now and only 1 had anything good to say and that was that nick was cool and he's probably the only decent employee at the facility that I've had to deal with. I will not renew my membership with them as long as this is the quality of their service. Especially when they scam people for late fees that should have never been charged and they email me I check my account I email back funds are in the account only 1 time was it not and I told him why that was only 1 time. I have paid a total of $220.00 in just extra fees in 6 mths and i used my membership 6 times. I wish I could post my bank statements where all returned or declined payments are listed for fraud or insuffient payment attempts. I have one from my credit card company this year but none from their facility. 0 declined attempts by anytime fitness. I just get double or triple charged every other month randomly after I get an email and confirm my money is in account. I should not have to go to my bank pull 28 dollars out drive another 20 miles round trio to pay them at the office when the account has funds and it was pulled out fine 2 weeks before by them. It's a joke but if I don't I get charged 67 dollars for that 27 dollar payment funny that can pull out fine though

The employees at this location are extremely rude and do not clean the equipment these two machines have been this exact way for a month now and it does not matter what day or time you come. Good: Decent equipment, bathrooms are shower-equiped and clean, equipment is in decent condition with a good variety of options, haven't had to deal with influencer chuckleheads thanks to a strong camera policy, staff won't harass you for actually using free weight equipment, other customers are generally friendly and polite.

Bad: Missing some fringe weight-lifting equipment, space is smallish and can be crowded, parking scheme is awkward, features are very no-frills compared to high-end gyms (no pool, racquetball court, sauna, etc). Overall feel is extremely corporate.

I like that they're open all the time and you can just let yourself in with your key fob. All the people that are working out seem safe are working to be healthy. All the machinery feels clean, and everything seems organized. They have security cameras everywhere as well. The staff when they're on site are also very friendly and helpful. They don't have any pools, saunas, or fancy locker rooms, but they have what's necessary to have a solid workout in a nice environment.

The gym itself is great and when you see them in person the owners are usually very nice, at least up until you try to cancel your membership. My membership was supposed to be over at the beginning of the month and I was told I would be good to go after that and didn’t need to pay any fees or anything, but to my surprise I continued to be charged every month after that and whenever I tried to reach it either no one would would answer or they said they would send me a cancelation email that I never received so I continued to be charged for 6 more months of tying to cancel. When calling they are completely uninterested and have no qualms about continuing to charge my account knowing perfectly well that I do not wish to be a member there anymore. Service has been awful and shady to say the least. I will definitely not be referring this gym to anyone. Ever.

Open 24 hours using lots of cameras for security. Key fob needed to get in. Provides sweat towels and cleaner is required after use of equipment. Wide variety of machines although only 1 of each. Multiple cardio machines. Studio with work out programs to broadcast. Shower available, bring your own towel. Personal trainers there during the day with their door always open for help or advice.

Of all the gyms and fitness clubs I've been a member of, Anytime Fitness in Chico takes the cake. Aside from the obvious benefit of being able to go to your gym ANY time you want, the club itself is always clean, even the mirrors, walls and corners...never any dust or dust bunnies. They take pride in their club, you can tell...and I really appreciate a clean facility. All of the equipment is always in good working order, too. Compared to all of the other gyms in the area, I won't consider going anywhere else other than Anytime Fitness. Just a solid place all around! Thanks guys!

Do not recommend this gym at all. I got a free week pass online and the gym did not accept it. I really wanted to get a membership with my partner but after this I’m no longer interested.

I would never deny someone from something that is free it’s so disrespectful and absurd. The worker discriminated against current students even though I was recommended this gym by a Chico state alum.

They deserve no stars and the worker should be ashamed. You should never make a customer feel worthless and I hope the worker never experiences what I have experienced.

The best staff I’ve ever delt with, always a clean gym. Jason and Maria have done a phenomenal job at building this gym up to what it is today along with the personal trainers they’ve had. They accommodate for mostly all lifting/training styles and I’ve never had a real negative experience here which is a plus considering I’ve been here over a year and a half now. The new expanded gym is more than enough room aside those occasional busy times. They have a wide variety of lifting/training equipment and accessories along with cardio equipment. I highly suggest this gym!

Just moved to the area and called twice in the past 5 days (on 2 different weekdays mind you) and no one answered the phones. So today I decided to come by today (a Sunday) at just before 3 and see that it says Saturdays and Sundays are by appointment only...Making it so hard to get a membership seems ridiculous. Have been going to this gym for a couple months and it's been great so far. It's evident that the owners take pride in their establishment. Its kept clean and neat. I tend to go in late PM hrs. Always feel safe. They have a lot of surveillance and safety measures. Though I haven't encountered staff in a personal level they seem pretty sociable and welcoming with their members. I love this gym! It is the cleanest gym that I have ever worked out at and the staff are amazing. I've previously lived in LA, where I frequently worked out at Crunch Gym, LA fitness, and a couple other small joints around my area. Although this gym is small, there is never that many people in there that would ruin your workout. I workout 6 days a week and always can find a spot to lift and jump rope in-between sets. I really appreciate how they provide towels for sweat and a many bottles of disinfectant to clean the equipment with. At Crunch Fitness, they started charging you monthly just to have a small towel. Cleanliness of a gym I believe is extremely important. I once got a flesh eating bacteria on my hands and neck from other gyms. It cost quite a pretty penny for a poor college student to deal with. I recommend this gym to everyone I meet who is looking for a great place to workout.

The facility itself is great and I've always experience excellent and friendly service from staff, until today. After seeing an unexpected charge for my gym membership this month I called owner Jason Allen to request a refund. He became very upset and refused to refund me the overcharged amount stating, "some people pay $70 to come to this gym". After a heated discussion about why I should be reimbursed, I kindly asked to speak to his wife and co-owner Maria. He refused to let me speak with her stating, "she's not the owner, I am!" After informing him he was being unprofessional and stating I wanted to cancel the additional two gym memberships he became even more upset stating he could not find my name on any of the accounts and could not help me. After attempting to mediate the situation he finally yelled at me and told me to call in an hour and speak with Maria before hanging up on me. Maria called me two minutes later apologizing for his behavior stating, "it hasn't been a good day for him". Needless to say I will not be going back to Anytime Fitness and have cancelled my gym memberships. I will make sure to inform fellow co-workers and friends about my experience with owner Jason Allen. I encourage people to look at their bank statements to make sure they are not being overcharged and hope Jason isn't having "a bad day" when you call.
