The gym is always clean, well-organized, and usually not overcrowded. I love that I can come in at whatever time works for my schedule . The staff is friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help out or answer questions, which makes the atmosphere feel supportive rather than intimidating. It's also a nice touch that the members are respectful and keep the space tidy. Overall, it's the perfect place to get a solid workout in--convenient, reliable, and community-oriented.

I had an absolutely terrible experience at this gym, and it all comes down to the manager, Renee. She’s completely incompetent and mishandled my money from the start—overcharging me and giving vague excuses when I questioned it. I wouldn’t trust her with a dime; she comes across as untrustworthy and fake, always dodging accountability with a forced smile. On top of that, I hardly ever see her there—it’s as if she’s hiding from all her upset customers! The whole operation feels shady because of her. Save yourself the hassle and find a gym with honest management.

I was going to say that I regret having to write this, but I don't really so here goes.

First off, the place is expensive. Significantly more per month than other establishments with many more machines and services.

The cleanliness of the men's room was consistently sub par. Smelled of urine every time I had to use it.

I recently spoke with Renee regarding some text messages that I had been sent about an issue with charging my card. There was never an issue with charging my bank account, but I made the unfortunate assumption that since they told me that they couldn't charge my card that I would no longer be charged and my membership would end.

This was not the case and they continued to charge me after l'd already begun membership at another gym. So I called to see if they'd be willing to refund two months of membership and fees during a period after I was told that my card was not able to be charged. I was told "Policy blah blah blah."

This just isn't how l'd run a business. Your automated system sent a message that was false, you fix the problem.

My experience at this fitness center was nothing short of incredible. When I had to cancel/ freeze my account due to job relocation, CT, the Manager, went above and beyond to assist me. His friendly and understanding nature made the process a breeze. I can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you, CT, for your exceptional service and kindness!

Also, this is probably the best fitness location I’ve visited. It has new equipment, friendly staff, is very spacious, is never busy, and has excellent outdoor lighting. It is always clean and organized.

New review end 2023:
Since they got rid of the manager about a month ago the community at this gym has fallen apart. Its way less clean and harder to find the items i need as they are now always out of place. Whoever runs it currently is way too strict and has banned gym goers who have been going for years for small and petty reasons. They've upped the little fridge/ food prices. It honestly has turned into a corporation vibe with less love and care to the facilities and members which made it such a good choice. Used to have cute little holiday activities and decorations which are gone. I once loved this gym as you can see from previous 5 star review - but now it's really started to go in a dissapointing direction fast and ill be looking elsewhere in the new year.

A nice size, small but with all the equipment you need. Never too crowded. It's a great community. You can easily make friends with the staff and other gym goers!

This place is a treasure. I'm not a gym girl typically but it feels like I'm in my happy place when I go there. It's always nice and clean, the staff are exceptionally friendly. They have a very well stocked gym, group fitness sessions, 1-1 training and my favorite - recovery (yoga) on Tuesdays and Thursdays to unwind. It's low-key, friendly, not at all competitive. It's a safe haven.

This gym has everything you need. Not too crowded, definitely not a 'scene', a good size yet intimate enough to feel like an extension of home. Convenient keyless lockers, honor system to pay for drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. The staff is attentive, the equipment is up to date and gets cleaned daily - I have seen it! I've worked with Jami and Danny as trainers - both very patient, down to earth and great at adjusting to your level - but also will help you kick your own butt in a workout. So glad to have this gym in our community!

I've been attending Anytime fitness in Orinda since I believe October of 2021. They have free weights, machines, plenty of cardio machines, racks, personal training, group training, yoga, consultations, and more. A couple of things they do well is maintenance, meaning the facilities are clean and if someone tracks dirt into the gym, its cleaned up sooner than later. Many times I've seen the manager Daniel wiping down equipment in between his tasks. Their office hours being open at convenient times make asking questions easy, and all the staff in the times I've interacted with them are kind and approachable.

For me, the location and being open 24/7 is super convenient, they have everything necessary to help me meet a range of fitness goals, parking hasn't been an issue, and as someone who previously attended 2 other gyms before Anytime, I intend on staying with AF Orinda until I leave for college.

I've been a member of Anytime Fitness since 2016, started coming to the Orinda location pre-COVID. Although this location is out of the way for me as I live in Walnut Creek/Pleasant Hill, I prefer to drive a little more to it because in my opinion, it's better than the 2 Concord locations. 1.) the staff are friendly & approachable 2.) they have 3 squat racks so finding one available is more likely than the other 2 locations 3.) it is ALWAYS clean 4.) management does a great job at keeping the machines in working condition, unlike other locations where 2 out of the 5 treadmills were broken for 3-4 months

I was racially profiled here. No anytime fitness doors open without a key fob and I scanned mine and waited until the light was green to enter. A red haired white male claimed I didn’t register in his system so he inconvenienced me by having me to walk back outside and scan my key card. That was unnecessary because I didn’t tailgate anyone into the building and the door wouldn’t have opened for me without my key fob. That is a no brainer. Essence magazine discussed how black gym participants are more likely to have their workouts interrupted to be asked to show their gym membership passes again despite scanning on the way in. This is the second time I’ve been targeted at an anytime fitness location to show my pass after passing the initial checkpoint. I never see that happen to any other races. I didn’t get to choose my skin color and I shouldn’t be treated with suspicion every time I walk into a gym.

I’ve been exercising at Anytime Fitness in Orinda for 3 months now. Staff are awesome and the facility is always clean. The gym is “right sized,” not small and not gigantic. There are weight machines, free weights, stair masters, and a modest size studio—anything you might want, really. Members work out on their own or with trainers on staff who are personable and encouraging. Members of the gym are diverse. Some work out hard. Others are casual gym goers. (I am in that category.) Both men & women seem equally at home. There is seldom a wait for equipment. My membership is through a healthcare plan (Silver & Fit). Very glad to have found this gem of a gym!

Just joined AF Orinda and am loving it! The gym itself is spacious and airy with great equipment. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Signed up for personal training to help me get out of my Covid rut. Really excited!

I became a member about a month ago and I’ve been so impressed. The staff is friendly and helpful. The gym and bathroom is always clean and the wipes are always stocked. It’s a small gym, but there is a lot of equipment spread out throughout the space. Plenty of weights, machines, and cardio equipment. I’ve been very happy so far.

Great equipment, it's always clean and never too busy. And if I am waiting for something people are always polite and clean up after they are done not leaving anything covered in sweat. They even have a dedicated yoga room so for stretching your not in the way of any workout areas. Locking lockers as well which is nice because other places like this usually only have open cubby spots.

El gimnasio es pequeño pero tiene lo necesario. Los trabajadores son muy amables. El primer dia que fui nadie trabajaba. Por lo que entre mientras un miembro del gym paso. Ya dentro una entrenadora me dijo que ella no se encargaba sobre los costos ni nada. Que volviera el sabado. Pero que si queria como ya estaba ahi que me quedara para que lo probara. Lo cual me resulto de lo mas amable de su parte. Y asi fue me quede hacer ejercicio. Ya el dia lunes compre mi membresia y en verdad disfrute de usar el gimnasio. Hay un lugar para yoga. Ademas de una pequeña cafeteria donde uno mismo se sirve y lo cargan a tu membresia. Cuenta con lockers. Lo unico malo es que solo tiene una regadera. Por cierto si usas el gym te dan 3 horas de estacionamiento gratis en la plaza.

I AM IN LOVE. I PERSONALLY BELIEVE THIS GYM IS BOUJEE. IF YOU LIKE TO EXCLUDE YOURSELF FROM CERTAIN THINGS THEN THIS IS THE GYM TO SIGN UP FOR. This gym offers private bathrooms which is extremely convenient! And I just can’t with the standards of cleanliness! I been to many gyms and if you are sick and tired of unsophisticated environments then Orinda Anytime Fitness is for you. DUE TO ITS LOCATION AND THE CONVENIENCE OF HAVING ACTIVITIES TO CHOOSE FROM AFTER THE GYM MAKES ME FEEL GOOD ABOUT MY 18 MONTH CONTRACT I HAVE.
