My happy place! The perfect balance between strength, endurance and reformer pilates - not easy to find! Love getting the chance to combine all three during the week. Love the small group classes that are key for proper form, accountability and progress. Cannot say enough to good things about Marko, his energy makes your day and pushes you like a friend who wants to see you win!

Ok, I have to write a review because I love this gym so much! I’ve been working out here for six months, and it has truly changed my life. Before I started, I was a mom of five (including dogs!) who felt exhausted and grumpy all day. I knew I needed to do something to improve my physical and mental health and make my daily life better.
I found APS on Yelp, and I think joining was the best decision I’ve made this year. I chose this gym because it offers 6 a.m. classes with options for either Pilates or conditioning. I take both classes, and they’ve been so effective in helping me feel fitter, healthier, and stronger.
Marko is such a helpful, cheerful, and knowledgeable trainer—I feel so lucky to have started working out with him, especially since I had never done strength and conditioning classes before. The small group setting also works perfectly for me.

I wanted to share a great experience I’ve had at Athletic Performance Studio in Pleasanton. I joined about two months ago and can’t recommend it enough.
The studio offers strength and conditioning on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and Pilates on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They also offer both types of classes on the weekends. It’s a small group setting, which I love because the owner and coach, Marko, provides personalized attention to each person’s goals and limitations. For me, that meant focusing on my lower back pain and improving my overall fitness.
After just two months, my back feels so much better, and I'm already feeling stronger and faster. This studio is truly a hidden gem!

I HIGHLY recommend taking classes at Atheltic Performance Studio with Coach Marko! He's extremely knowledgeable in strength training, cardio, and pilates, and you will not regret it. Whether you're a beginner or not, Coach Marko motivates and pushes you to be your best! This place offers a great sense of community and athletic knowledge and I would recommend it to anyone. There is plenty of parking and it's located in a nice facility next to a great park.

I recently started training with Coach Marko, and I couldn’t be more impressed. From day one, he’s been incredibly welcoming, caring, and knowledgeable, invested in helping me reach my fitness goals. Each session is well-structured, motivating, and tailored to my level, which makes me feel both challenged and supported.
Marko explains techniques clearly, ensures proper form, and always provides encouragement.

If you are in the Pleasanton area looking for a gym to become a member at or just need a pop in class, you should absolutely stop at APS and sign-up with Coach Marko. He is great! I used to take classes with him at another gym, and it was so refreshing to take a class with him again. Plus, your first class is free and after that you can purchase a membership or class by class. Options for all needs!
I took my first Pilates class ever this weekend with him. I appreciated his dedication to making the class fun, to ensuring I used the right form on the machine, and to making me feel welcome after a long period of not working out. The gym is clean, vibrant, and has fresh, brand new equipment. There is space for any fitness needs. I am excited to go back and continue my Pilates journey and possibly return to some CrossFit classes.
Outside of the above, I have to commend Marko for his love of fitness, health, and people. He is very knowledgeable about fitness and is willing to teach you. He has a kind, energetic, and friendly demeanor. Most importantly, he cares. He remembered details about different injuries I have and before class, asked me about them. He always makes sure you are comfortable and moving at a pace that is good for you, yet challenging you to continue to better yourself.

I’ve been coached by Coach Marko for many years. He is very knowledgeable in CrossFit, functional fitness and Pilates. He is very in tuned with the varying needs of individuals. He will work with you based on your goals and fitness level. Coach Marko makes workouts fun too, so not only will you get a great workout in, you will have fun doing it. Go check out his gym - it is an awesome space and has something for everyone!

I used to do CrossFit and recently moved on to Pilates. Athletic Performance Studio encompasses both disciplines. Combining both disciplines is a great way to get a complete full body workout. I recently took both a CrossFit class & a Pilates class.Marko is an excellent CrossFit coach & Pilates instructor; very knowledgeable. I highly recommend Athletic Performance Studio.

I’ve attended several of the fitness session and really enjoy the culture and style of the workouts. I appreciate how Marko (APS owner) ensures everyone can attend any class no matter their fitness level. I have trouble with running and high impact activities, so Marko was able to suggest equal alternatives to his program that fit my capabilities. Workouts are ~50min, including warm-up, and before starting the group is walked through each step of the program for the day to make sure everyone understands and are comfortable with the exercises. I will definitely be returning for future workout and excited to try the Pilates sessions.

Beautiful clean facility which includes Pilates and group fitness classes. Easy to sign up, first class was free. Coach Marko Cantero knows what he’s doing and is always a joy to be around. There’s plenty of parking and right next to a nice park off the iron horse trail.
