Loved loved loved my first class at Babes of Wellness. I attended the Sunday Slow Flow Yoga. I was a first timer to yoga and this studio and the experience was great. The instructor Naomi made me feel so welcomed. I hope they keep this class on the schedule as a Sunday Yoga class is a perfect way to reset for the upcoming week. I plan to attend more classes and hopefully get a membership.

Babes of wellness has been the most inclusive, welcoming, and uplifting group of diverse and powerful women I’ve ever been surrounded by. If you’re new to the gym or a seasoned gym rat, babes has classes for you no matter what! All coaches here want the best for you and make you want that for yourself as well! Highly recommend joining this amazing group of women :) <3

Overall, my experience going to Babes of Wellness regularly for the past 5 months has been positive, productive, and valuable to me. I find that every class challenges me in a good way. The weight-lifting classes get me out of my comfort zone and they feel like I am learning a new and useful skill. I feel stronger and more confident in my fitness and in my body since attending all these classes. Additionally, since going to this gym and attending these classes, I have noticed a reduction in my lower back pain which is such a great benefit. I also love that the instructors/trainers are encouraging as well knowledgeable about the exercises and proper form. Alexa is awesome in that she offers a lot of encouraging comments that bring up my confidence even while correcting form, Kat always brings high energy that helps me try my best, yoga with Noemi is very relaxing which is one of my main goals with yoga, and pilates with Rebecca and Sasha is always very welcoming. As for the other customers, I have also found them to generally be nice and friendly.

The following are things that I feel are lacking for me as a customer, but if they were added they would probably bring my rating up to a 5 from a 4:
-I would like for there to be classes available at other times. There are no 8:00 a.m. or 9:00 a.m. classes available but if there were I would be able to make it to those. Plus, my mom is over 50 and has expressed interest in the senora classes, but they are not available when she is, which would be in the later afternoon.
-The Burn Babes class used to be held at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. for the evening people, but it is now only offered at 7:00 p.m. and I find the class a bit crowded which means there is less space to spread out, less variety of equipment to choose from, and less personal attention from the trainer. This makes the class for me a bit more stressful and a bit less enjoyable than it was when offered at 6:00 p.m.
-I would also love for there to be a more cardio-based class offered. When I joined in June, I found the Burn Babes class to be more cardio focused (jump rope, jumping jacks, running, etc.) which I was super into, but recently it seems more weight focused which I feel does not distinguish it too much from the other weight-based classes offered.
-This is more minor, but it would be helpful if the white board were bigger so I can read it from afar because I find it too easy to forget how many reps I'm supposed to do.
-Finally, and as an aside, it would be amazing if the gym offered workshops or events or just something a bit more on nutrition as it forms a major part of health and wellness.

However, all in all, I do recommend this gym to anyone who wants to improve their well-being, fitness, and health! I am thankful to have a place like this in my community.

Such a beautiful space! I love the feeling of looking forward to my next session. Great variety of classes and love how easy it is to book with the app. Shout out to Sasha and Rebecca!! I’m new to Pilates and their classes have been top notch. So thankful to have found this studio near my home.

BOW is not your typical gym. BOW is a wellness hub and sanctuary, thoughtfully curated by coach Kat. Here, women and queer folks of all sizes and ages are welcomed, celebrated, and transformed. Expect to transform your body and mind, and there will be no going back.

Since joining BOW in 2023, I’ve have had the privilege of attending group classes and even tried the 1-on-1 personal training ahead of my “big day.” Whatever type of support you need, you’ll find here.

Earlier this year I was able to introduce my 71-year old mami to strength training at BOW and coach Alexa was so amazing and patient as my mama built her balance, and confidence with the bands and weights.

Don’t hesitate to come, and bring your mami!

This place is truly amazing! I have never felt safer and happier in a space with all women. All the girls motivate and challenge you to get through your workout. Coach Kat is so attentive with our form, ensuring we don’t injure ourselves. I’ve taken the babes strength club, peachy babes, Pilates, and mobility classes. They are all great in their own way. The structure of the group classes are the best I’ve seen thus far. I’m excited to continue to attend more and train with Alexa 🤞🏼 so far Kat is a 10/10 trainer.

All instructors make sure to get you properly warmed up at the beginning and don’t let you go home without winding down with some breath work/expression of gratitude. If this place is in your budget and you have no idea where to start with your workouts, join now!

There aren't enough words to express how grateful I am that Babes of Wellness exists. I have been looking for a trainer to help with my back pain/injury recovery. I was diagnosed with thinning of the disc on my lumbar area, and suffering from chronic pain, I had to make a choice of getting physically strong to support my back. Shout out to Kat for helping me connect with Vanessa (personal trainer). I was popping 26 ibuprofen a month and now it's gone down to 4 a month, I am grateful for you both Vanessa and Kat.

Ps. I feel safe and welcome every time by all babes. Strongly recommend giving them a chance if you're on the fence about it ✨

I began my search a few months ago for a personal trainer in the South Bay area and stumbled upon Babes of Wellness, a private all-women’s gym offering 1-on-1 training, group sessions, and fitness classes. I was excited to learn it was owned by a WOC, Kat. On our kickoff call, I explained that I was committed to a year of private training but needed flexibility due to a demanding work schedule. I also needed a trainer experienced in rehabilitation because my top goal was rehabbing a severe knee and shoulder injury. Kat assured me Babes of Wellness could support that, so I signed up for their one-year private membership (~$800/month for two sessions a week).

PROS
1. Alexa!!! She’s the only private trainer at Babes, and she is phenomenal. In just three months with her, I lost 10 pounds and, more importantly, my knee pain disappeared. She understands the body so well and tailors every workout to strengthen the muscles that support my injuries. She focuses on form above all else, which made our sessions more effective and gave me confidence I didn’t know I had. Alexa researched my injuries, created modifications, and explained each exercise in detail so I knew exactly what we were targeting and why. She’s encouraging, motivating, and trustworthy. I went from struggling to walk up stairs to being able to do squats again! She gave me so much value and truly changed my health.

CONS
1. Flexibility: With Alexa being the only private trainer, scheduling is tough. She worked hard to accommodate me, but overall class times and availability are limited. When you’re paying this much, it’s frustrating if you can’t get time slots that fit your schedule.

2. Culture: Outside of Alexa, the culture didn’t feel positive. Kat often uses sarcasm that comes across as demeaning. I know some people may find it funny when your trainer talks down to you and even call it “tough love,” but that’s not how I operate. I came to BOW in a very vulnerable state and expressed to Kat my fears of losing mobility at such a young age. So when I’m in a private 1-on-1 training (which takes place at the same time and area of group classes) and she makes fun of me for not being able to lift as much weight as her Señora Babes classes in front of everyone, I definitely took offense to that. There is also a subculture of women who are obsessed with being in Kat's "inner circle" and they create a toxic air of exclusion, especially if you do not have a membership. Some people can’t afford a membership (heck, I barely could!), but that doesn’t mean you should be iced out of conversations, ignored, or shamed.

3. Value: For the cost, I didn’t feel the membership offered enough beyond Alexa’s training. Group classes aren’t included; open gym isn’t an option; class slots fill quickly; and memberships can’t be paused, so you’re charged regardless of attendance. Make-up sessions were hard to schedule, given availability issues.

4. Cancellation: I understand that the cancellation policy states that a final week will be charged for a fee, so you can take this critique with a grain of salt, but I had 5 sessions (technically 6, but it is what it is) to make up. I asked Kat if she was willing to waive the final cancellation fee, considering I had already had $600 of sessions still to make up. She said no and said I can just make up the training sessions whenever I have time.

All in all, I can’t see myself returning to Babes of Wellness. Alexa gave me everything I hoped for in a trainer, and I’ll always be grateful for her, but outside of her, the experience didn’t feel supportive or worth the price. I believe fitness spaces should empower women to feel included and safe, not pressured or dismissed. I hope Babes can evolve in that direction, because the foundation of what they’re building could be amazing, if handled differently.

I got the opportunity to start at Babes of Wellness in March 2025, and what makes this space so different from any other gym or class-based fitness program I’ve tried is that while the fitness component is definitely there (and great for all levels), it centers healing, both generational and personal, through movement and true wellness. In communities of color, we’re often taught to suppress our emotions and frustrations with the world, but here I’ve learned to release and transform them through movement.

It’s never just about a number on the scale or a pants size, it’s about how we feel, how we show up for ourselves, and how we reclaim our power. I feel incredibly honored to be part of this community, continually inspired by the trainers, and grateful for the way Babes of Wellness has taught me to approach health with love, strength, and intention.

Babes of Wellness is not just a gym, it is a safe space, a home almost and it is one I recommend everyone give a chance too.

I LOVE this place. Every single trainer is so warm and welcoming. They work with you and where you’re at in your fitness journey. I’ve done Burn babes, Strong babes (my most challenging lol), Mat Pilates, and the mobility + breathwork classes. Each class challenges you in a different way. It’s also woman owned and all women gym. The ladies who show up and workout are amazing, supportive, and welcoming. I 100% recommend Babes of wellness.

I also want to add this isn’t your typical group gym that just wants to take your money. They actually care.

I started coming to BOW since September 2022. I started with the yoga class and slowly moved into the other classes they have. I was never a person who liked working out and I have always made excuse on why I could not work out (kids, work, etc…). And I did make an attempt to go to the big chain gyms but it felt like a meat market. I was more uncomfortable than focus on my workout. But let me get back to BOW, I have never felt uncomfortable and I always leave feeling empowered to be a Latina women. Kat is amazing at encouraging me to challenge myself. Karen is a replica of Kat but with a lot of energy lol. SP is also a great motivator and very helpful when she’s training me. Also, BOW is making a difference in the members life by hosting life changing classes that enhance my quality of life. I am a proud member of BOW and the community of babes that encourage me to keep going and hitting new PRs (personal records). Keep up the great job BOW and I know the best is yet to come. 💕💕💕

BOW is an incredibly supportive and welcoming gym. I struggle with social anxiety, therefore it’s taken me a while to find a gym where I feel comfortable. I recently completed a few different classes and each instructor was kind, attentive, patient, and enthusiastic!

I started with a restorative yoga class taught by Karen. The class was calming and the poses were easy to follow. Karen walked around making sure everyone was comfortable; she adjusted my poses and added props to make it easier for me. I’ve also taken a yoga class with Noemi and she was great as well! I felt relaxed while getting a good workout.

My next class was with Katalina where we focused on strength training. Katalina was very welcoming and led the class with an upbeat attitude. There were a few moments where I felt anxious but it was easy to get back into the work out, especially when the coaches are so supportive and the environment feels safe.

I then took another strength training class with Jenny. It was my first time ever attempting to lift weights and I kept struggling with my form. Jenny and Alexa were extremely patient with me; I’m genuinely so grateful that my first attempts at weight lifting were with them! Jenny and the other coach always had a smile on their face and they went out of their way to find the right amount of weight and best modifications for my needs.

Cristina’s pilates class was so much fun! It was such a wonderful start to my day. She was kind and gave me great feedback throughout the class. The pace and instructions were beginner friendly.

Although I haven’t taken a class with Coach E she was responsive, kind, and informative through email.

Thank you Alexa for going out of your way to correct my form and being so attentive, kind and supportive. Katalina, I appreciate how you go out of your way to make sure everyone is seen in class! I’m excited to continue taking classes at BOW. I appreciate the patience, kindness, and feedback given at each class. They definitely go out of their way to cultivate a warm and inclusive environment.
