Before finding Back for Life Pilates I was never able to commit to a workout style or studio. I had been on ClassPass for about 5 years, always trying different classes or types of workouts but I never had a consistent routine or schedule. But since finding Back for Life 9 months ago, I’ve established a consistent workout routine, become stronger, increased my mobility, and even finished a half marathon!

Vy’s classes are some of the hardest classes I’ve ever taken. Even though Pilates isn’t high impact, it’s definitely high intensity. But what I love is that they’re not just difficult, they’re informative. I’ve learned so much about movement and muscles from Vy. Every time I walk out of Vy’s studio I know I had a crazy good workout that wasn’t harming my body in any way. Even though I try, Vy never lets me slack off or take it easy with my form but she’ll always correct me with a laugh and a smile!

I have so much trust in Vy because I know her exercises are backed by science, research, experience, and consultation with PTs. I prefer the small class sizes and 1:1 sessions because of how much Vy is able to focus on form and safe movements.

Vy herself is such an amazing and inspiring example of how much Pilates can do for our bodies! She truly inspires me daily with her determination and strength. Her love for competition and fitness is infectious and I appreciate how much she believes in me and encourages me 🫶🏻

Not only that but Vy helped me train for my first half marathon (my first race really)! Going from running maybe a couple times a year to 13 miles was something I never expected to accomplish but I was able to achieve my goal with Vy’s help. Throughout my training process Vy was there supporting me, encouraging me, and providing so much needed guidance! Any time I had questions or slight pains Vy was quick to respond and even took the extra step of consulting the PTs she works with.

Vy truly goes the extra mile for her students and I’m so appreciative! She has put so much love and work into creating an inclusive space and community. I’m so excited to continue my journey at Back for Life and who knows that may even include joining Vy in some of her races!

I've struggled with finding movement that I enjoyed and wanted to do consistently. Coming from only a ballet background of over 10 years, adapting to any new form of exercise was difficult. I found Pilates but hopped from studio to studio never really landing anywhere and feeling like I was still missing something.

I took my first class with Vy and was blown away by her instruction and knowledge. After following her around multiple studios, I was elated when she opened BFLP. She’s an outstanding Pilates instructor who has made a huge impact on my fitness journey. Vy has an exceptional ability to explain complex movements in a way that’s easy to understand and execute, which has been key in helping me refine my technique and grow my knowledge in basic body anatomy. Additionally, she takes the time to get to know my goals and challenges, and she tailors her classes to meet those needs with exceptional skill.

The students that I have had the pleasure of getting to know are genuinely kind - not nice; just kind. There is one mirror in the whole studio which, personally, allows me to focus on how my body is feeling during class instead of how I look or how everyone else is looking. There's also a sense of realness of the community when you enter that's not focused around selfies.

Vy has taught me the value of taking breaks, listening to my body, and that our mental and emotional health can impact physical states. I feel like, I've only scratched the surface of her knowledge, and I am very excited to see how my fitness journey will progress in the future.

My journey at Back for Life Pilates with Vy has changed my life physically, mentally and also changed my view of training. I have a background in kinesiology and work heavily in this field. So I know a lot goes into programming workouts and working with different populations. A lot of the times you have to meet people where they are at. Vy does a great job doing exactly that! She not only is encouraging and shows that she cares so much about her clients but she is also so knowledgeable about the body and chooses exercises that challenges parts of our bodies that we may neglect. She always has an explanation of why we are doing what we’re doing in class and how it can benefit us long term. Her attention in class when it comes to cueing and correction is a blessing and a curse. She does not miss a beat and will correct your form and you will be sore from it the next few days haha. But so worth it! After going to Back for Pilates for 3 months now I’ve lost weight, I’m more aware of my own weaknesses and I’ve made it part of my routine throughout the week. I’ve loved every single session! It is always a highlight of my day because I know that I will be able to focus on myself. Working in this industry you want the best for your clients and you tend to forget about your needs as a person. Working with Vy, I not only trust her but her infectious spirit, her mastery of movement and her caring nature keeps me coming back for more every week!

if you haven't tried a class with Vy or Back For Life Pilates, this is your sign to TRY IT! you will NOT regret it! I've been doing pilates for a year now with Classpass, but Vy's class is def one of my favorite classes I've taken for far. She is an incredible instructor. She is so knowledgable, kind, welcoming, approachable, positive, energetic, and so attentive to details. She truly cares about what she does and her clients and it shows! This is my second class with Vy, and I am hooked! She truly pushes you out of your comfort zone and challenges you in the best way possible. This studio is a gem in Tustin! The clean, welcoming decor primes for a great workout with the knowledgeable instructor. Vy gives good feedback and challenges each attendee individually. She is kind and professional. She clearly cares about each client. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

This is the cutest studio!! So clean and well put together. On top of it, the instructor Vy is absolutely incredible. She not only knows Pilates, she truly understands the body and how to help in certain areas that needed attention. She always pays close attention to our form and how we’re suppose to be moving. She’s so knowledgeable and it’s very clear she loves what she does. Highly recommended this studio, easy to find, lots of parking and the vibes were immaculate!✨
