Ballet Academy of Silicon Valley has been such a wonderful place for my daughter to not only learn ballet but also to build amazing friendships . The training is excellent, and the teachers are both skilled and kind. Ms. Marisa and her staff truly care about the kids and bring out the best in them. The performances are always magical and so much fun to watch—they’ve become one of the highlights of our year!

My son has been dancing with BASV since 2019. He came home from preschool one day and asked if he could do ballet (and yoga), so here we are, 6 years later! He has made good friends through class and he has fun performing in their twice-a-year stage productions- annual Nutcracker and a spring production (Coppélia, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, etc.). Most importantly, the teachers are kind, approachable, accommodating, and are interested in growing the child as a whole and develop great rapport with their students. They have a recreational and company track, adult classes and toddler/parent classes. The only thing missing is more boys in dance! I hope more boys can try dance without the misconception that they can only dance if they want to make professional careers out of it- not so! Anyway, we’ve had nothing but positive experiences with BASV and can’t recommend them enough!

BASV has helped my daughter progress in her ballet skills. She also has gained beautiful friendships with the girls in her classes. The ballet performances have been age appropriate, and helped build confidence in performing in front of large groups. I appreciate the yearly assessments as they help give my daughter something to strive for, as well as a sense of accomplishment.

My daughter was introduced to dance for one year when she was three. Eight years later she begged me to try ballet. I knew she'd be behind all the rest, but BASV made her feel very welcomed and special. We’ve been part of BASV for three wonderful years, and I cannot say enough about the positive experience my daughter has had here. She started as a shy little girl with no dance background, and over time, I’ve watched her blossom into a confident, graceful dancer who truly loves ballet.

The teachers are incredible—patient, nurturing, and very skilled at balancing discipline with encouragement. They know how to make classes fun while still instilling proper technique and respect for the art of dance. My daughter always looks forward to her lessons and to see her teachers.

The twice a year performances are beautifully organized and give the children a chance to shine on stage in a supportive environment. It has been so rewarding to see her progress year after year, not just in her dancing, but in her focus, confidence, and teamwork as well.

This school truly feels like a second family. The teachers care deeply about each child’s growth, and it shows in everything they do. We are so grateful for the joy and love of dance they’ve brought into our daughter’s life. Thank you BASV!

I’ve been attending BASV for 6 years and I cannot share enough amazing things about this studio and staff. I returned to ballet after over 10 years off and as an adult was welcomed into the studio with open and supportive arms (which is really quite rare if you grow up in the ballet world). They were even open to me participating in the Nutcracker and Spring shows! Performing again has been such a soul and heart fulfilling journey in my life. I honestly never thought I would do it again and here I am, 12 shows later. This studio is truly the most warm, supportive and caring ballet studio I have ever been to. And not only are they so kind, they have great technical training for anyone looking for a strong foundation. And Im most excited to eventually get my 2 year old involved - this studio really feels like home and family!!

We absolutely love this ballet studio! My daughter is naturally more introverted, and I truly appreciate how gentle and understanding the teachers are with her. They’ve created such a safe and welcoming environment that she feels comfortable enough to dance her heart out. This ballet studio is an absolute treasure! My daughter completely fell in love with this studio and the performances during our time here. From the instructors to all of the other ballerinas of all ages, we felt so welcomed and supported while we attended.

My daughter was 6-7 while we attended this studio, and we were completely devastated to leave it when we moved to another town. We would have continued at this studio for as long as she was interested if we didn’t move away. It is hard to find a studio that matches the care, integrity, and wonderful environment we experienced here. I have compared every ballet studio we have researched to our experience at BASV.

I loved that the ballerinas wore specific leotard colors for their class. It felt very professional and structured vs. free dress. For my daughter, this inspired her to try her very best to get to the next color level, as she loves challenging herself and seeing progress in little ways, much like getting a new belt color in martial arts.
As a young ballerina, she was able to be in performances with ballerinas of all ages, from toddlers to adult. Seeing ballerinas of all ages made her love for the art of ballet grow even more, and gave her goals to continue as far as she can go. Each performance she was in, she earned more stage time which gave her great incentive to give it her best.

The instructors were strict in the best of ways- seeing the potential in each dancer and wanted to teach them to be the best they can be, inclusive, helpful, fun, and so kind, which my daughter loved. Communication was always very clear, laid out well, and any questions were always answered quickly. I would completely recommend this ballet studio to any dancer looking for a friendly and professional studio.

My daughter and I have both been dancing at BASV for about 2.5 years now - I take adult ballet and she takes youth classes. My daughter started at 11 years old without much experience so it was hard to find a studio where she could start as a relative beginner, but BASV has been truly amazing - supportive, flexible and very positive while still helping her build a solid technique. She has developed several sweet friendships and a real love of ballet. The two shows each year - Nutcracker during the holidays and another ballet in the spring - are SO MUCH FUN and such a great opportunity for kids to work hard, to get up on stage, to be a part of a community. And, as a mommy, I get to dance too - what could be better?!? We are so grateful to have found this wonderful studio!

I've been dancing for various studios for ~8 yrs, most recently with BASV, and they are amazing. The teachers are wonderful; they really focus on the health and well-being of the students, as well as working with each dancer's unique strengths and weaknesses instead of trying force them all into the mold of an idealized 'perfect dancer'. I myself am not naturally flexible, being better with allegro than with adage, but the instructors at BASV, rather than demanding flexibility out of me that I cannot give, worked with my strength and refined my allegro while gently encouraging me to stretch every day and make the most of the flexibility I do have. Their patience, charity, experience and teaching skill are immense.

We were looking for a studio that was more supportive than the typical studio. Ballet Academy of Silicon Valley far exceeded our needs. They are not only supportive in a positive way of our son but being in Ukrainian has been life changing. You get to start out as a beginner and grow with the class. The teacher really helps them learn as a group and encourages them to be inclusive and good citizens. It’s so rare to see this in a studio. Ukrainian dance has made my son stronger in body and mind. We are sooo happy. The community is so supportive and everyone is welcoming. Another bonus is that the Ukrainian costumes are cool and the kids get to perform at local venues if they choose. This includes a great local Nutcracker performance. We have found a gem!!
