This place is really awesome! Esha was an amazing instructor and really made the vinyasa class an awesome experience for me. As someone trying to get into yoga, she was really patient and helped walk me through a lot of the flows and positions, making me feel more comfortable. I loved the positive vibes she brought and I’ll definitely be coming back!

If you’re looking for a yoga studio with amazing teachers, community vibe, and responsive communication, this is your place. I’m a world wide traveler looking for a home base yoga studio when I’m in the Bay Area and finally found my place! Thank you for providing this community yoga studio for us.

Cheers!

Love this place. The space has a good energy, class sizes are reasonable and it’s clean without feeling sterile. They make yoga accessible to everyone. There’s a range of styles from different teachers. Kaitlin is my personal favorite because she focuses on breath + flowing with calming music. She gives you opportunities to push yourself, but always gives different options for modification and explains everything very clearly + shows us all the poses while also moving around the room. Go here once or twice a week and even the newest or most out of practice yogi will get out of their head in no time. At the end of class you’ll think, “Wow, it’s already been an hour?”
Their intro deal and overall pricing is unbeatable, so there’s nothing stopping you. Join a class.

I really enjoy coming to Banana Yoga studio. It has a super charming and inviting vibe! I usually go to the Sunday morning class taught by Maryam. Her classes have the perfect balance between a challenging workout and a rejuvenating practice. I always leave feeling stronger, more centered, and ready to take on the day. Highly recommend!

I've been going to Banana Yoga since I first returned to the Bay in late April. I knew after doing an intro offer 4-class pass that I wanted to do a monthly membership, and I have no regrets! I love the community here so much. So many lovely, kind, and passionate teachers that feel like long-time friends. I'm really grateful that this studio honors the yoga practice in it's entirety. They do not reduce the practice to just a workout class. Banana Yoga honors that yoga is just as much about spiritual and emotional wellness as it is about physical well-being. The teachers here support me in having a fully integrated practice. They have sliding scale prices, and the monthly membership here is way more affordable than other studios in the area. I go to the studio 4-6 times a week, and I'm so so grateful to be a part of the Banana Yoga community! Marlo, the owner, is incredibly sweet and kind and has created something really special. She also has been hugely supportive anytime I had a tech issue or question with the booking app! I cannot recommend this studio enough. <3<3<3

Just getting my aching ancient self into yoga and Banana Yoga was perfect. Took a class with Erin and it was lovely . I have no idea what I’m doing but I made it through and I felt great afterwords. The space was immaculate w/wood floor and high ceiling . Music was playing and a made for a good atmosphere. I signed up for the monthly unlimited for $108 which is on point for my budget. What’s not to love? Do your ancient or not so ancient self a favor and check ‘em out. Onwards! Thanks .

A wonderful experiences so far with this cute studio. I initially had a private event for my team led by the owner, Marlo. She was very kind, positive and made our one hour session a great introductory class.

Curious about other classes I attended Sound Healing Vinyasa lead by Teresa. She was absolutely wonderful. With only my second yoga class it was a small intimate class.

We started with a lovely guided meditation, different moves that varied on its level of difficulty and a restful sound of bells to end the class. I learned a lot and gained confidence in myself, challenged the limits of my body and was in gratitude for a unique sound guided meditation.

Wonderful experience happy I tried something new and look forward to coming back. Also appreciated the first class for free- great promotional opportunity and their sliding scale rate.

A Gem in Oakland: Banana Yoga's Inviting Atmosphere and Supportive Community
Banana Yoga is a breath of fresh air in the Oakland yoga scene. Stepping into the studio is like entering a tranquil oasis, filled with beautiful plants and artwork that instantly create a sense of peace and rejuvenation. Marlo, the owner, is an absolute delight. Her warmth and professionalism shine through in everything she does, making Banana Yoga feel like a welcoming community from the moment you walk in.
I've had the privilege of teaching yoga classes at Banana Yoga, and my students have always raved about the positive energy and calming environment. Marlo's dedication to creating a comfortable and inspiring space is truly commendable. If you're searching for a yoga studio in Oakland that prioritizes both physical practice and a supportive community, Banana Yoga is a must-try!

I LOVE Banana Yoga!! Having recently moved to Oakland, I've explored several different yoga studios in the area and Banana Yoga is by far my favorite. I take multiple classes every week with Heather and Sunset - both of whom are super knowledgeable, supportive, and encouraging - and I can feel myself getting stronger with each session. The space itself is well-stocked, very cute and cozy, and clean. They offer sliding scale for all classes and also do a lot of different community events (clothing swaps, bake sales, etc.). Easily accessible via public transit and there's also plenty of free parking (pro tip: some of the meters on 40th are off, so parking is indefinitely free). If you're looking to get back into your practice or just want to introduce some gentle, but challenging movement in your life, give Banana Yoga a try!

Banana Yoga is such a cute studio! It is filled with great energy, has lots of plants, and fantastic teachers/events. Marlo, the owner, is really big on creating a safe space to build community, and this initiative shows with all of the different things she has going on at the studio.

It's location is central, with lots of cafes and coffee shops around. Street parking is abundant, which makes coming to yoga that much easier.

Took the 4:30 vinyasa with Sunset. Great vibes & knowledgeable teacher, I was recovering from a tattoo and had limited mobility but felt great!
Sliding scale rates too for classes which is awesome, I haven't really seen that at any other studios around :)

Wow this studio space is beautiful and the owner Marlo is incredible.

I took my first class (Marlo was the instructor) earlier today and it was awesome.

I'm super excited that this space exists in Temescal.

If you're thinking about checking out a class here, stop thinking and do it! You won't regret it.

Support small businesses and help our beautiful, wonderful city of Oakland thrive. :-)

I have been really enjoying classes at Banana Yoga! Marlo is an incredible instructor and in the vinyasa classes I appreciate the mix of more active flows for the first half of class into slower paced flows and poses for the second half. Marlo is super welcoming and inclusive and I’m excited to continue going to classes at her studio.

This is such a great little yoga studio, I took a class from Marlo today and loved it. It was just the right difficulty for me, not too intense but also not too easy. I am highly active, going to the gym frequently and mobility is something I am constantly working on so this was a great intensity for me. Thanks Marlo!
