Coach Seth is an incredible coach! His queuing, group class management, and pacing are all immaculate. I shared with him after class my misgivings with Barry's several years ago. However, after becoming a 200 HR TT RYT through CPY, OTF member just shy of a year, Seth and the Palo Alto Barry's team has caused me to reconsider my stance! It's a testament to having a growth mindset and pushing one self outside of their comfortable zone once again! Great job team you've made me a fan!

I just moved up from LA and have been to a bunch of Barry’s locations before, but Palo Alto really stands out. Barry’s is the original high-intensity interval workout—combining running and weights to tone muscle and maximize fat loss—and this studio delivers on that every time.
I usually take Noah’s classes—he’s consistent, motivating, and knows how to push you while keeping the energy high. Matt’s classes are just as strong—he’s got that mix of humor and accountability that makes the tough lifts feel doable, and he really connects with people in the room. Between the two of them, you get the best of both worlds: serious training with a personal touch.
The entire staff here makes the experience even better—super welcoming, upbeat, and genuinely helpful. Out of all the Barry’s I’ve tried, Palo Alto nails that balance of community and challenge, and has quickly become my go-to spot.

Seth is 20/10 - if he is not in charge of programming yet; put him in, coach! I’ve been attending his Thursday class regularly at Palo Alto for about 4 months and can confidently say that my core feels tighter, my legs and glutes feel stronger, and my lower back pain has decreased exponentially. Seth brings great energy, his music is on point, and he makes the workout challenging for all participants regardless of skill level while also communicating instructions clearly and concisely to maximize movement within the 50 minute window of class.

The gym and workout is fine. 2 stars because I went for a 3 workout trials and now they keep spamming me with emails that I did not sign up for. I even unsubscribed but they keep coming. Very unprofessional

Honey, I’m back with an update and the tea is SCALDING! 🫖 Listen up, darlings - Barry’s used to be my sanctuary, but lately it’s giving me all the wrong vibes, and not in a cute way.
First off, can we talk about the AUDACITY of these toxic bros in the locker room? Sweetie, the masculinity is so fragile it could shatter if you looked at it sideways! 💅 Inconsiderate kings thinking they own the space - sir, this is a SHARED facility, not your personal man cave! Some of y’all need a lesson in basic human decency, and I said what I said! 💯
Now let’s spill about this corporate greed, babe. The SHRINKFLATION is real and it’s RUDE! Classes are 10 minutes shorter but $10 MORE expensive? The math ain’t mathing, Barry! 📉 We’re getting less workout for more coins, and that’s giving scam energy, not premium fitness vibes.
And don’t get me started on these facilities, honey. When this spot first opened, it was PRISTINE - now it’s looking a little crusty around the edges. Where’s that luxury we’re paying premium prices for? 🧽
The saddest part? They keep losing all the amazing instructors who made this place special. It’s like watching your favorite drag family break up - heartbreaking and completely unnecessary! 💔
The front desk dolls are still serving excellence, and those OUAI products in the locker room? Still divine. But overall, Barry’s is giving “peaked in high school” energy, and we deserve better than that, boo! ✨
Still shining, but definitely dimmer than before. 🌟

Class was really good! I have been out of shape for a long time and am just getting back into it. Though I wasn’t at the level as some of the other athletes, I wasn’t pushed to a point where I was discouraged. Everyone works at their own pace in a way that they are challenged which I think is great.
Facilities were clean, staff was helpful and Christina was great with leading Arms and Ab’s in a way that isn’t overly salesy or complacent

It was my first time at Barry’s and Jessica was an amazing coach and instructor. Her energy and positivity made me give it 110% which made me crush my workout and make my first class memorable! She even gave me multiple shoutouts which helped me get through the run workout on 11+
10 out of 10 would recommend Jessica and I would come back again!

You can be on time for class and still be refused entry and as a bonus lose your money even when there’s empty room in the class. We all know this stuff is a money grab but this blatant?
Booked through class pass. Reached at 6:26 PM for a 6:30 PM class after driving 30 minutes in traffic. Partners spot was given away to someone else even while being there before class.
Told there’s a new rule that you have to be there 5 minutes before class or you lose your spot and this is hidden away somewhere in the fine print of a confirmation. There was no explicit communication of this rule change.
Okay - as a regular maybe this can be a one time exception especially when your class is not full? Nope sorry you’re welcome to pay $37 for a class and enter even though you’re there before time.
The worst part is how rude the front desk staff were showing absolutely no empathy.

the music is so loud... my ears are still buzzing! When I asked them to turn it down they gave me ear plugs that they have available, indicating that it's a known problem. The workout is ok, but nothing special.. so with this loud music problem, it's not worth going even if they have such nice amenities in the locker rooms.

Highs and Lows after my first Barry’s Class.
HIGHS: I like the circuit training concept with good music and good energy in the room. It’s great having a combination of weights and cardio on the treadmill keeps the flow throughout the class. I liked how the instructor reminded us to breathe.. super important!
LOWS: The workout was incredibly difficult to follow. I was looking to my neighbors and seemed everyone was doing something different on the floor and treadmill.
I also didn’t like how the instructor came by and adjusted the weights during my dumbbell press on my back. He quickly moved the weights when they were straight above my face. Lucky I had a solid grip on them!

Great instruction and energy. The instructor repeatedly overloaded the speakers to the point that the music was distorted and ruining the speakers. It was painful, and ruined what was otherwise a solid workout. My ears are still ringing. Staff at front desk later told me that they keep earplugs, though they didn't offer them before or during the class.

Pros and cons after my 3 class starter pack (highly recommended):
Pros
1. You will burn a billion calories. Bring water, this workout is no joke.
2. Instructors are super motivating. They challenge you to push yourself in a good way.
3. Class goes by fast. You’re doing something different almost every minute so you never get bored.
Cons
1. Instructors don’t have time to help you. If you have an injury or haven’t done a move before, don’t expect to ask for help with form.
2. Equipment isn’t sanitized during class. You jump between a treadmill and a bench with bands or weights that aren’t sanitized between uses.
3. It’s expensive. You can buy classes in bulk and save a little, but going 2-3x/week will set you back over $300 a month.
Other than that, they have a great location, ample class times, yummy shakes, and nice locker room amenities. Hope to keep going as long as my body and bank account allows!

I wouldn’t recommend Barry’s to anyone! I made a reservation online for a Sunday morning 9:30AM class. I come and figure out my reservation doesn’t show up in their system. I thought it’s my fault and prepare to head back. The receptionist asks me to wait saying that she’ll put in waitlist. A few minutes later I am asked to go join the class. In the middle of the class, I am asked to stop since the person who actually made the reservation came. Why give me the spot in the first place? So unprofessional! I wouldn’t go back to this ever again.
