Been wanting to try Barry’s out since 2010. Finally tried it on a Friday the 13th of 2025 haha best workout. Love the instructor Matt W. And David P. as well. Been going consistently for over 3 months. Also workout at LA Fitness and Gold’s. Barry’s is a nice interval HIIT mix to add to routine. I also do other interval workouts, spin classes, Pilates, and Lagree.
I also want to add, the Parking Lot in back is free up until 10AM. Starting at 10AM you get 90 minutes free and have to return to pay for additional time or you will be ticketed. They do limit how long you can park from 10AM-6PM.

Super fun and amazing workout!!!
1/2 the time is treadmill running. Instructor would tell you to pick up the running speed to 6,7, or 8 but if you can't run like me. I would run as much as I can and then slow it to a jog or speed walk. Go by your own pace.
1/2 time is weights with different exercises. Dumbbells are located against to the walls on the right and left side of the room. The heavier ones are on the left side of the room. Lighter weights are on the right side of the room.
We would swap back and forth. From running on treadmill to weight workouts.
Instructor would be on his mic and telling us the exercise.
Ambiance in the room is really dark but with red lights. Pretty cool to work out in.
The gym offers towels for when you sweat.
We had a live DJ in the room on the Sunday!! That was pretty cool!
Check in early because I had to fill out a form on their computer.
There are lockers to put belongings on the right side on the first floor.
I like that between classes, there is someone cleaning the equipments and mopping the floor.
Upstairs is are more lockers but it's only woman's locker only. There are 3 shower rooms. I love that especially if you're sweating you can just shower and be nice and clean. This gym offers so many amenities like big towels for after showering, body soap, shampoo, and conditioner, face wash, hair dryer, deodorant, q-tip, body lotion, etc.
There are metered-street parking. 1 hour parking 9am-6pm except Sunday's. Sundays are free parking, which I didn't know until I got there and was grateful for that so I didn't have to pay. I don't know if there is free parking behind the building or anywhere else. That would be a bit expensive if you're going to this gym every day.
There is a restroom upstairs.

love the trainers I have had here and the workouts but the admin is kinda rough. I bought a five pack and they took my credits after I didnt use them. no email no warning just three credits gone. I work at a wellness place . I understand how credits work. They could at least give a warning before taking the credits. As a grad student , this was valuable money to me and I won't be back.

Erik was exactly the motivation I needed on a Monday morning on my layover in LA. Jet lagged, tired and barely able to open my eyes, Erik was the caffeine shot right into the jugular. A great class, full of energy, smiles and kindness, you couldn’t ask for a better person to wake you up.

Logan was such a lovely instructor. I'm new, and his explanations were thorough enough that I knew what to do but simple enough to not be intimidating. He made me feel motivated to push myself and was very encouraging and funny the duration of the class. I'd be happy to take his class again!

Been to 20+ Barry’s studios - this was the worst one due to poor ventilation. It was so hot and stuffy that all the mirrors were covered in condensation by the end of class even though the fans were on for most of the class. As a result, you couldn’t even check your form in the mirror while lifting.
Otherwise, the instructor was high energy and had compound exercises that flowed well together. The studio is in a mall so there’s ample parking. Staff are friendly!
One minor annoying thing is that the women’s locker room is on the second floor so you have to go up/down stairs a bunch.

I tried Barry’s once six years ago in London and honestly, it wasn’t for me at the time. Fast forward to now—I’m completely hooked. Barry’s Pasadena has totally changed my perspective. The space, the energy, the community—I love everything about it.
Special shoutout to Coach Erik! I almost don’t want to recommend him because his classes are always packed... but he’s just that good. His energy, music, and pacing are unmatched. Every class feels like a high, and I leave dripping in sweat and smiling.
If you're thinking about trying Barry’s Pasadena—just do it. But don’t take my spot in Erik’s class, okay?

Anna is SO pleasant! She opened that Barry’s Door with a big smile on her face! I felt very comfortable with her- she demonstrated all the weight moves & spoke clearly the instructions for the treadmill. After the class, I noticed how many people were smiling & literally pumped up. Anna is SO Encouraging & used many people’s names during class. And wow what a music list! I thoroughly enjoyed my class at Barry’s Pasadena!

I'm writing this via dictation because I cannot feel my legs, arms, or anything in between. Not only was Logan a pure delight to be tortured by, but I feel we really bonded over discovering muscles in my body I did not know could feel pain. I felt challenged, well-guided, educated, and terrified of future staircases. My gym plateau became the base of a new mountain. One that I'm sure Logan would make me sprint up. 12 out of 10 would go again, had a blast.

Cleanest Barry’s I’ve seen in LA metro area. Staff is on point and attentive. Gave instructor is Matt so far. I recognized quickly Matt’s attentiveness, consideration and articulation. I only looked at the time once :) and was happy with the variety of the workout. He pushed and demonstrated. I now found a studio city instructor I can add to my favorites roster, in addition to Pasadena.

Barry’s is my favorite place! It is the best and most challenging workout, with the nicest amenities and instructors. Always look forward to Matt’s and Erik’s classes. You can always count on them kicking your butt but know that you’ll feel like a million bucks afterwards! The facilities are always spotless with the modern showers, bougie products (Ouai shower products), bobby pins, hair ties- you name it! Highly recommend!

Barry’s coming to Pasadena has been the best.. I travel so am lucky to work out at Barry’s around the world but Pasadena is home so couldn’t be happier to have them here .This studio was opened just as the pandemic started and I am very happy to see it thriving! If you are looking for kind and sincere instructors who care about making you stronger, and more fit while rocking great tunes then this is your vibe.

Scott was so nice! He explained everything ahead of the class and checked in with me a couple times during the class. I loved that he called out the new people in the class and everyone clapped :) also appreciate how clear he was with every instruction. I have no idea how he can keep track of 2 sets of exercises at the same time! I’ll be back tho!

First time at the Barry's in Pasadena (I usually go to Weho) and it's a great spot! There's a cute outdoor area to hang out after class or just rest after getting the best workout in all of the land. If you feel like trying a different location just for a change of scenery, hit up the Pasadena location! It's great!

Class was great! It was my first time joining, and Scott was my instructor - he was very friendly and accommodating. He brought us in and gave us all the info we needed and introduced us to the room setup/explained how class would go. He checked in throughout class, and noticed when I felt lost once or twice and got me up to speed. Really appreciated his warm welcome and upbeat personality. Fun class! So happy to have had the opportunity with Pasadena Run Club to try Barry’s for the first time :)

I’ve come here a couple times using promotions and ClassPass and it’s always a great workout! I wish the classes were cheaper, but the instructors are motivating and I always end up dripping wet with sweat by the end of the class. And I also get a little sore the next day.
Barry’s does a combination of running on the treadmill half the time, and strength training with the other half. We use dumbbell weights and resistance bands. I would def suggest coming a bit earlier or on time as the class is punctual and starts as soon as it’s time.

Barry’s in Pasadena is a top place to work out! I thoroughly enjoy my morning workouts here. The instructors are supportive, positive, and design excellent routines. The staff is always super friendly and motivating.
As someone who used to teach group fitness classes, I’m always VERY impressed with how efficiently and clearly the instructors here are able to clearly cue the class when multiple workouts are taking place (HIIT on one side, running on the other). Not an easy task… The workouts are always thoughtful and effective. It’s apparent the instructors devote extensive time before class to design routines that flow well and build strength/ endurance. I always leave class feeling energized to take on the day.
My personal fav instructors: Matt and Mercedes.
If you’re looking to mix up your regular workout routine or if you’re wanting to build endurance and strength (As a climber, Barrys has helped me improve my endurance on the wall), I highly recommend Barry’s!

I had the pleasure of attending a trial class with Scott. He was great and had tons of energy.
The place itself is super clean. They do a quick deep cleaning in between classes, which is appreciated since it's a sweat and burn type of workout.
They have tons of weight options to choose from and they run the class very well, splitting larger classes into groups in order to maximize space.
My only gripe is the noise level of the music and the instructor. I understand that you want to keep the energy high with loud music, but when the instructor is mic'd up and yelling over the music it can be ear piercing. We were informed there were ear plugs in the lobby after class had started, so it was a little too late for me to leave just to get some. Good to know for next time I guess.
They also have a really nice smoothie bar with tons of recovery options. I would be mindful of the calorie count on some of their smoothies though.
Overall, I had a nice experience and enjoyed my workout.

Only drawback is some instructors play the music exceptionally loud and this feedback was met with a third party call from the National Technical Institute for the Deaf to me, kinda funny response, kinda lame abuse of private information. I went on Lunar NY and was very impressed with how they celebrated it (1 free class + free drink).
The class was too intense for me (first timer). I was able to keep up with 50% of what they did. Basically alternating running and weight. I was really tired and didn’t feel the most fun out of the exercise.
The location is very clean. There is a spacious parking lot behind. It’s free for 90 mins but just park. It’s pretty small and there was 1 red room (exercise room).
Female lockers are on the 2nd floor. There are only 3 showers and 2 toilets but somehow they were never overused when I went. Free small and large towel. High quality shampoo, conditioner, etc and Dyson hair dryer!
Staff was very friendly! I’d recommend this location.

This was my first time at this Barry's. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming-one even joined for the class! The instructor was great, she pushed me to go harder than usual without feeling bad if I needed to slow down again. Overall, kicked my bum!

Their AC doesn’t always work and the entire room gets covered in sweat and moisture from the humidity. It’s disgusting but also dangerous. I slipped and hurt my knee. What a disaster.

I would definitely recommend Barry’s to anyone looking for a HIIT or strength training program.
I was introduced to Barry’s by a family member and was immediately hooked.
So far I’ve taken three classes and all the instructors are great. I usually start on the treadmill and then we alternate between treadmill and weights.
Barry’s provides the extra push to help optimize my workouts. The room and workout is set up to allow you to focus on yourself. You can adjust the workout to your parameters, but they give me goals to strive for and the music is amazing!
The facilities are kept clean: A staff member cleans the workout room before and after each class. Their restroom/changing room/showers have everything you need (shampoo, conditioner, soap, towels, hair dryer, etc.) so you don’t need to worry about a whole gym bag. They have lockers on site to store any items. They check for COVID vaccine cards. There is plenty of free parking behind the structure.
I think it’s worth ever dollar. The prices compete well with orange theory, especially if you buy packages. They have an app which makes booking even easier.
