Andrew was super welcoming to me as a studio newcomer and a first-timer in his class. I liked the balance he struck between pushing me out of my comfort zone and sharing modifications. Andrew has great energy. I would definitely take his class again and recommend him to others who want to be challenged in a supportive atmosphere.

I’ve been going to Barry’s South Bay for over two years and it’s honestly the best gym I’ve ever joined. The South Bay crew has the most amazing energy—everyone greets you, remembers you, and makes you feel welcome. The instructors, front desk, and even the cleaning staff are always so kind and accommodating. It’s more than just a workout, it really feels like a community.

I've been going to Barry's for about two years now. I really enjoy their workouts and their trainers. The experience is top notch. I feel like I've been thru a personal training session after each class. Some of my favorite South Bay trainers are Austin, Alicia, Hailey and Andrew. I've also been to 5-6 Barry's across the country and the service and classes are consistent at all locales. Lastly, I really like how clean they keep the studios. That's my pet peeve with workout studios and Barry's gets a 10 out of 10 in that dept! Highly recommend.

w! Izzy’s class was absolutely incredible—I feel like I’ve been missing out. Today was my last day of the challenge, and I took Alex’s class in the morning. I initially planned to take it easy and “walk,” but her music, instructions, and energy inspired me to push myself harder. She was truly amazing—so motivating, fun, and uplifting. No wonder so many people at MDR love her! I wish I had taken her there too, but I’m so happy I get to take her more often here.
I love the entire Barry’s family—everyone is so kind! I’m obsessed with this place, and if I were not lucky enough to have free classes, I would absolutely pay. This location, in particular, is the best.
Izzy was amazing, and that class was insane! I left singing all the way home.

I took Steffan's class on 10/22. Amazing. His cues are easy to understand and effective. He speaks from years of experience and leads a hard and fun class.
The staff was warm and welcoming. The changing room/showers are clean and well stocked. 10 out of 10.

I’ve been trying out the gyms in my area. I liked it enough, but for a gym that only has one studio, one format of workout, and requires very little equipment, the price is astronomical. It’s clean and has nice soap and hand lotion.

Soooo unsafe! The instructor kept dimming the lights while we were sprinting on the treadmill and at one point completely shut them off. That is so dangerous sprinting on a treadmill with only the lights from the display on. Absolutely never coming back.

Galya was my first instructor for my first class at Barry’s. I say confidently that her attention to detail, willingness to listen, how accepting and uplifting she is, ALONGSIDE her kickass class, is the reason I keep going to Barry’s. I have always been scared of being judged, underperforming, or showing weakness in group workout classes; I’ve only done one spin class and one hot yoga class in the past - hated it. Galya 100% changed my mindset on this. In the four classes I’ve done with her, she has celebrated the big and the small wins in each class - from folks hitting their 200-class milestone, to folks hitting their first ever Barry’s class, to birthdays, EVERYTHING. I just hit my 10th class in 15 days, and I wouldn’t have done this if Galya didn’t spend 10 minutes with me after class to walk me through how to attack the treads. I have always been scared of running, but not anymore. She's actually incredible. Venice and South Bay are so lucky to have her!!

Along with Alex Sapot, Andrew K. is one of the BEST, charismatic, and brightest at Barry’s. They both are one of my favorite instructors. But this review is about Andrew K. Andrew is consistent with his high-level energy and class programming. Consistent and high-level, like Alex. Talented instructors who are both knowledgeable and passionate about fitness. Overall, Andrew, like the other top Barry instructors, is always well-prepared, curating music with the rhythm of the movements. I highly recommend his classes to anyone looking for an instructor who will challenge, inspire, and support your fitness journey.

Super energetic and motivating without going overboard. Good music choices and an appropriate level of challenge. As a first timer, I was a little confused by all the numbers since Steffan was telling us treadmill speeds, how long until the next exercise change, and directing someone on the floor while I was on the treadmill. So a little overwhelming/confusing to get the hang of in the first 5-10min. But then I got it. I really liked when Steffan demonstrated the strength exercises, since I'm a beginner to fitness classes. I wasn't always sure what a particular exercise name was. And I really liked Steffan's encouragements and positive energy as we cooled down and wrapped up the class. I can't wait to come back !

High-energy, intense workout. Booked a class with Steffan C for an arms, chest, and back evening workout. They’re 50 minutes long, and for the first class, you may want to arrive 15 minutes earlier so the front desk can take you through the class format. There’s a fuel bar where you can get smoothies (you must pre-order). The bathrooms have personal-use day lockers and showers available. They have gum, hair ties, and ear plugs at the front desk.
You alternate between treadmills and strength workouts. It’s a high intensity workout, but you are able to customize the intensity to your level of fitness (though you should definitely push yourself). Steffan was very energetic and the music adds greatly to the vibe. You’re there primarily to get a great workout, and the class delivers exactly that.

Great workout! Music is too loud and the speakers are in your face when on the treadmill. They have ear plugs at the front desk, if you're not already hard of hearing, you're going to need them.
