With three heated outdoor pools, multiple tennis courts, and a full schedule of fitness classes, this property has something for everyone. Splash in the pool with your kids, saddle up on a bike (that’s not in your living room!) for a cycling class, or get on the tennis court with a friend for some tennis or pickleball.

I was a Bay Club member for three years, and it used to be a great place — clean facilities, professional staff, and a welcoming environment. Unfortunately, things have gone completely downhill, and I can no longer recommend this gym to anyone.
The membership office has become unbelievably rude and unprofessional. Instead of helping long-term members, they talk down to people and act like they’re doing you a favor just by answering simple questions. The attitude there is honestly shocking for a club that charges this much.
On top of that, the cleanliness has gotten awful. The shower area has black mold growing in multiple spots, and it’s been there for months with no signs of proper cleaning or repairs. It’s honestly unsafe and disgusting. For a premium club, this is unacceptable.
Bay Club used to be worth the money. Now it’s overpriced, poorly maintained, and run by staff who don’t seem to care at all about member experience. I’m extremely disappointed and would not recommend anyone to join.

I joined Bay Club because public tennis courts in the Bay Area are notoriously hard to find. When I saw they had a reservation system for tennis courts, I thought I would no longer need to stress about court availability. So I didn’t hesitate to join the Club West Gold tier which supposedly offers the best experience in the reservation system with advanced booking.
Unfortunately, more than once I’ve shown up to my reserved court only to find USTA matches still going on. When I politely pointed out that it was my booked time, the players on court dragged their feet before leaving, while their teammates on the sidelines booed or cursed at me for daring to exercise my reservation. That’s not just poor manners. That’s blatant bullying, and it makes the whole experience feel hostile.
I understand part of this is individual behavior, but let’s not pretend management has no responsibility. Clearly, nobody is telling these players the rules, and there are zero consequences for hogging courts past their time. The reservation system becomes meaningless, and members get caught in the middle.
And after reading other members’ reviews, I realized this kind of bully behavior isn’t limited to the tennis courts. It happens at the pool as well. Which makes me reasonably suspect that management isn’t just failing to enforce rules, but actively tolerating this environment across the club.
To be fair, the hardware here is solid. The tennis courts themselves are good quality, the gym is well equipped, and the recovery room is actually quite nice. But all of that gets overshadowed by the hostile environment created by unchecked bullying and poor enforcement. No amount of shiny facilities can make up for a culture that makes members feel unwelcome.
Bay Club: where you pay premium prices to be bullied in a toxic culture.

Parking is a nightmare. I try to work out several times a week and each time it can take up to 20 minutes of circling the parking lot to find a space in the main lot as well as the overflow lot. Squeezing into a spot against a curb in the lot will get you a citation. This morning, I again gave up after not finding parking and went home. I will be looking into how to cancel my annual membership as a result.

Very unprofessional and careless staff and management. I enrolled my 5 yr old daughter to the summer cap which costs $$$ for her to learn and have fun. On the first day itself i told atleast 3 people not to send her in the pool because I or my want to be around when kids are in pool due to safety concerns. Even after that I learnt on the first day that they sent her to deep pool. On of her friends who was in the similar situation almost drowned. I wanted to take my daughter out of the club and when i am calling to talk to them they mentioned that the summer camp director is on vacation, then I asked to spoke to someone incharge, the front desk person was playing telephone and routed me to 4 different voicemails. Now he is not even picking up the phone. Of this is the state of carelessness then I do not want to send her to bay club ever. These people should be sued.

The adult swimming pool is full of bullies. I once heard a lady from a so called “Masters Swimming Club” yelling at others VERY loudly. And the rest of the swimmers are extremely rude and selfish. They are not friendly to other outside their small group. And they are not willing to share the lane with other people. I don’t understand why the Bay Club allows this behavior.

I’ve had a fantastic experience at Bay Club Courtside in Los Gatos, and a big part of that is thanks to Chris L. His attention to detail and genuine care for members really sets the tone for top-tier customer service. In terms of equipment: most machines have a twin, the weight selection is excellent and large and the facilities are always clean and well maintained. You will always see someone cleaning, organizing and doing general maintenance. The members also do a good job of policing themselves and are polite. Overall if you’re looking for a gym in LG this is hard to beat.

Great club! The only negatives I can give are the ever downsizing of the childcare options (less time, can’t eat, etc), and overlooking members who book court 2 (the one and only ball machine) and never show up, with no penalty. There should be a check in system and $50 no show fee, that would take care of the problem.

Cons: Bay Club increases its price every few months; since 2023, it has almost doubled. It isn't easy to find parking in the evening. Also, the club access is limited to the local area; if you go to other regions, you must pay to use the club since membership, which charges a hefty premium, does not cover different regions. With this increasing rate, there is not enough value to keep paying for membership for such a crowded gym at some point.
Pros: equipment, pool, group classes, and LG location.

The pools are great. Love swimming there.
The restrooms/showers by the pools are fantastic.
Best water pressure ever.
UNFORTUNATELY:
The gym/workout floor(s) are super discombobulated.
Don't go expecting to have an organized workout if you do more than say legs in one workout session.
You have to go from room to room to find what you are looking for. I'm extremely disappointed at the state of some of the spaces considering they jack up our dues twice a year and but can't seem to afford to upgrade these spaces.
NO SEATED LEG PRESS MACHINE ANYWHERE. OR IS IT HIDDEN IN A SECRET NARNIA ROOM?
The "functional fitness" area is very sad:
One TRX strap that doesn't lengthen out long enough so if I go back to this gym I"ll have to bring my own.
No gliders to be found anywhere so I also have to bring my own.
Please visit Redwood Shores for their amazing layout and equipment. Second best is Santa Clara although their workout areas are broken up as well.
Please tell me there are plans to remodel and if so let me help you design these spaces.

I've been a Bay Club member for many years, but this review is about my experience with personal training at the Courtside location. I have been training with Dakota Goularte for the last 8 weeks and I have seen a dramatic improvement in my overall fitness, posture, and strength.
Dakota asked me at our first evaluation session what my goals were, and I told him that I wasn't trying to set any personal lifting records but rather prime my body to last the next few decades in terms of muscle mass, mobility, and overall health. His attention to form and understanding my needs (as opposed to focusing on just stacking plates on the standard lifts) is great. I used to hate going to the gym but having him be my guide and seeing the results has been wonderful. I look forward to my workouts these days.

Made me sign a massive waver to come in that asked me for my email. I said i wont prove contact info cause i dont want any emails. They said dont worry you have to opt in to that.
Immediately get a creepy push poll emailed to sign up for their facilities. Then i get a ton of marketing emails. These people understand consent like Brock Turner. Let's make sure they get more accountability then they did.
Edit: They followed up to remove my email... good. They refuse to acknowledge their forced opt in or their push pull. Both would be crimes in a just society.

I'm not a member. I was at the lobby to pick up someone. I asked if I could use the restroom. They asked me to sign a waiver. I have never heard of having to sign a waiver to use the restroom.
Update:
Got a response from "the owner", and gave the contact info of the Operations Manager to talk through why every person entering their private club needs to be accounted for and waivers signed for the safety of all.
Totally understand it's a private club and it can have its policies for anything. It doesn't mean I like this particular policy. So still one star.

This rating is specifically for the Courtside location. Every time I came here, I regretted my expensive membership. Equipment is run down, locker areas felt no more luxurious than a gym 1/4 of the price of this one. The recovery areas are never staffed when I come by. Overall disappointed with this location. It has potential with the location and overall resort feel, but there is no attention to detail for what it’s worth. I’m going to stick with going to the Santa Clara location, which is much nicer.

This facility is very dirty.
I normally swim when the club opens but the pool is already very dirty; I have to swim through clumps of hair, there are random pieces of litter and bugs in the pool and a few weeks ago there was a dead rat. The fact that it is like that at 6am suggests it is not being cleaned either at the end or the start of the day or they have an issue with the filters?
I understand that it is harder to keep a swimming pool clean when it is not covered. However, upon visiting the municipal pools in the area, the water is much cleaner. At the very least I am not getting other people's hair in my mouth when I go swimming.
I raised these concerns many times and nothing changed. I wrote emails and spoke to the people at the desk. The other people swimming also found the situation disgusting and it was an ongoing joke.
The changing rooms, as many other reviews suggest are also very dirty. The showers in the women's changing room smell terrible all day long, I think there is maybe an issue with the drains, but also due to the layout there is no air circulation. Also the changing rooms are fully carpeted, so having people walk on them from the pool or showers means they are permanently wet and also smell awful.
My membership here cost $370 a month, which is the most expensive gym I've ever joined, but it was also the lowest standard.
After you cancel you still have to pay for 2 more billing cycles. I stopped going after the "dead rat" incident but i've still had to pay for 2 months of no usage.
If I knew what I knew now I would not sign up to this gym.

I don't see the value. Hours are not sufficient. Mold in showers, outdated printers that might work or not. Housekeepers stay busy. Teenagers yell and swear a lot in the locker rooms. Just below medium country club prices with just above 24 hour fitness standards. I guess if you are into status versus quality than this could be the club for you. Santa Clara is by far worse. Redwood City is probably the best In South Bay Area.

i’m a gymnast so i don’t go here often, but when i do it’s always a pleasant experience.
fellow gym members always share when i visit, which is surprising especially since i’m a lot younger and smaller compared to everyone else. i’d expect them to be hostile towards me since i’m “just a kid”, or “just a little girl”; as i’ve heard.
LOTS of treadmills, plenty of stairmasters, two regular bars and a pull up bar. there are also rowing machines, if that’s what you’re interested in 🥴
the women’s locker rooms and bathrooms are great! lots of showers, lots of lockers and room to change, and they provide clean towels, antiperspirant, hair spray, and blow dryers.
their pool is also nice but there is no shade in the water, so that’s something to note if it’s something that concerns you.
me personally, i haven’t played tennis there before but there are HUGE courts and definitely way too many 🤣 the more the better though!
my only complaints are the lack of mobility workout/exercise machines and that there is basically no air circulation in the showers. the showers are very small which means they will get stuffy soon after the hot water is on for a few minutes. not a problem if you take cold showers but it gets muggy and warm in there 1/4th of the way into my showertime.
overall a great experience with bay club and i will obviously be coming back here again! 😊

Overall, BayClub Courtside is a fantastic facility. It is a high-end club featuring two large gyms, numerous classes, a nice pool, and tennis courts. The cleanliness is top-notch, and amenities like towels and soaps are provided.
Additionally, the club boasts a nice restaurant, a spa, and a sports store, which add to its appeal. Complimentary coffee is available every day until 11 am, along with a Bevi water machine, which I love.
However, there are two main drawbacks:
1. The pool is great for swimming and includes a nice Jacuzzi. However, it is more suited for swimmers than families with kids, in my opinion.
2. The biggest downside is the parking situation. Most of the time, finding a spot requires a lot of waiting, ranging from 5 to 30 minutes on busy days. Although they have an additional parking lot, it is quite far and often full as well. It feels like the club keeps adding new members without addressing this issue.

Greetings:
The lower level work-out weight room is right next to the basket ball court. It has great equipment which has been upgraded - thank you for that. However, since the wall is open, the weight room gets very noisey and it is disturbing and impeeds with doing a good workout.
I would suggest two things:
(1) close the wall
(2) put in some nice windows in the weight room
Thank you again so much for a great club and I hope to make it even better!

Ok. I am going to be fair. I wish they had a mechanism for feedbacks but this place is the only place to provide feedback.
The good:
1. Bay club Courtside in Los Gatos is generally good. It is huge, looks like a nice hotel and has a good vibe for professionals and people who want to stay in shape, it is not a place for puffed up bodybuilders and people who constantly show off.
2. The pool and Jacuzzi is so nice the tennis courts nicer but you have to pay extra to use them.
3. The classes are good but limited for after working hours.
The bad:
1. There are many cardio machines but not many essential strengths workout machine. Some don't even exist, can you believe there is no Inner And Outer Thigh Machine??? Why?
2. The towels are bad quality, have stains sometimes and are very small and thin. I prefer getting only 2,3 towels at the front door with better quality rather than having unlimited towels with this quality. People use towels to stand barefoot while changing clothes, they take 4,5 to the shower they do everything. I think working on the quality is better than having the unlimited quantity.
3. Showers: BAD! Not good for the expensive so called classy Bay Club. They are old, dirty, gross, hair everywhere, I am grossed out every time. Please upgrade your showers, install new functional hand showers so that people can use it to clean the floor after they shower. They cannot do that now because it is a fix head shower only. It is just GROSS!
4. Shampoo, body wash, conditioner, all horrible quality. They smell bad. We don't expect expensive shampoo but at least something that smells better.
5. Very old looking Carpets in the gym upstairs and downstairs. General cleanness of the locker room shower and bathroom is not at the standard quality. Hiring only 2 more people in cleaning staff would help this. I don't see cleaning people regularly clean showers. I only see a couple of ladies taking the towels only. How often do you clean the showers and take the disgusting hair clumps? Whatever it is, it is not enough.
In general, if Bay Club keeps the gym cleaner , do some upgrades for carpets, floors walls and adds the essential workout machines that are missing and most importantly upgrade and remodel the showers with hand showers and keep them clean, the gym would be "perfect".

The worst experience, save your money. Spa service is lackluster and no customer service! Los Gatos isn’t known for its diversity either, if you’re a minority be prepared to get looks from members.
The women’s locker room to top it off had an unpleasant smell. The pool while seemingly nice looked like a retirement community. Ha!
Overall, a unwelcoming experience and the membership team ( Chris Larson) had the audacity to to reach out asking about membership interest. After our negative survey review. Mind boggling.
The facility is so out dated and bathrooms tiny and again require upgrades. All that money they charge one would think you’d upgrade your facilities.

I had heard great things about the Bay Club from a coworker and wanted to check it out with a day pass offer advertised on the website. My friend and I booked a tour for 5 pm, it got moved to 7 pm with no notice and when we showed up almost 2 hours early, the front desk said that our tour guide had already left for the day. They tried to make it seem as if we just walked in and when we showed them the email confirmation of “them” switching it to 7 pm, they had no excuses and called in someone from back office to give us a tour. Unfortunately they did not know anything about the day pass offer nor did they give us any membership / club information. We asked for a pricing sheet and they said they didn’t have it and just gave us 2 business cards that were not his and said “ok bye”. It seemed that we were not welcome and wanted us to leave asap. We showed them the day pass offer on the Bay Club’s own website and finally the front desk guy said he did know about the day pass but that we would have to book an appointment to come in which makes no sense since we got multiple email confirmations about the appointment we ALREADY booked. Very disappointed with the experience and would not recommend other friends or people to join or visit this club again.

Dues have been raised twice in the last 6 months. I appreciate the opportunity to participate in the shared cost saving membership but I expect hot showers as part of basic service. I swim and going into the showers to learn there is no hot water several times in ONE week is unacceptable. The communication regarding what appears to be getting rapidly worse is almost non-existent. If the hot water goes down, they have a several social media presence they could use or send out a simple email. After many complaints from members of no notification until they get to the shower, they finally put up a sign yesterday at the front desk that the hot water was out for a 3rd time in a week. I’ve heard through the workers at the club that they knew about the issue 2 months ago and did not move to replace a needed expensive solution. Where is the CEO on this who sent us all an email about the latest price increase?

If there is negative score, I will do it.
I sent my son to summer camp, he can not swim yet. One day my son came back and said he almost drown in the water with his friend, they were supposed to step on something so that to keep their head out of water, however his friend has nothing to step on and hold him and they both fall in the water, my son tried his best but can not get out. don't know how long they struggled but finally the teacher pull them out. I was shocked and went to office to ask the director, she just said "we don't know what happened and can not comment", that's all. I insisted for an investigation and they said will give me a call for results. I got nothing till now. I would never send my son there since safety is just nothing for them.

Great athletic club…. Has it all (except golf): tennis, pickleball, swimming, spa, jacuzzi, hot sauna, wet sauna, cafe, gift shop, pro shop, indoor basketball, etc. plus HQ membership mostly in tech. Decent amount of mixers now and then… group exercise classes are decent too. Bay club are everywhere now but this one is the best I’ve seen.

An amazing facility! Such nice friendly staff, with an abundance of things to do here. Has a Lululemon store and a cafe inside, just to name a few. If you haven't already, I highly recommend a visit here to check everything out!

I like the other Bay clubs better. Courtside has the dirtiest showers. The showers are gross. There are flies and hair everywhere. When I go to Santa Clara, Redwood City or Fremont, they clean the showers soon after use and you won't have to wait long for your own swim lane. I'd give 5 stars to the Santa Clara location but not Courtside. Courtside gets 3 stars for the safety, amout of equipment and plenty of tennis courts (btw, you have to pay more to access tennis). I also love the adult only pool but unless its rainy, it is quite busy.

Such a great place!! I have been going to Courtside for years, but moved out of state a few years back. While I was back home visiting my mom, they went out of their way to let me enjoy the facility for a couple days during my stay. A special thank you to Daniel for being so accommodating. I hope to visit again soon!

Great club with pools separate for adults and for families, great gym in tennis courts. Fitness classes could be better if you're more advanced.

Super nice facility. Safe. Forcing everyone to use a sketchy app that likes to lock people out and results in inability to schedule the facilities or access online classes. Also no way to get people on the phone because we are all supposed to use the app. The whole process lacks good customer service and we pay dearly for the ‘privilege’ of using bad technology which prevents use of the membership.
