Super fun nine hole course right at the base of Bear Mountain. It’s well-maintained with a fun signature hole and very nice staff. I’ll also give them a shout out on their merchandise. They had quite a great selection.

Bummer! I was hoping to play here and now will not. Reviews are terrible and the way people have been treated is unacceptable. A 5-some is ok but 6 guys with no one behind them is not? I'm not ok with either if it slows down play but come on.

To owners: 1) This is a google fix that needs to occur. 2) Funny how you respond to me but don't respond to bad reviews to state whether they are true or not. The truth is the truth and I AM bummed that I wanted to play here but your reviews are so questionable. I truly am.

We came up for the weekend and brought my elderly Dad thinking we would rent two carts so he could ride along and enjoy the scenery. . The very rude brown haired front desk woman was so rude and would not accommodate us. She said you could only have two carts at each tee time and there was another couple playing at our tee time. My husband saw the tee time behind had only two people booked and wanted to reserve the other two spots just get a cart but the very rude women would not let us take the cart early and she said we couldn't have a 3rd. Cart at our tee time. I have never heard of this rule. The starter then came over after we teed off to harass us and tell us that they are ready to call security and kick us out because my husband wasn't wearing a collard shirt. Which neither was anyone else. Beware if you go here. . The front desk woman is not customer service friendly and will do everything she can to NOT accommodate you! The absolute worst treatment and customer service I have ever experienced: the woman at the check in should be fired as she is loosing this place good paying customers because she has some sort of power trip. The starter and the front desk woman ruined what was supposed to be a fun relaxing day for my dad who doesn't have much time on this earth left. All because she could.

I am writing this review to express my extreme disappointment with the treatment my group and I received during our recent visit to Bear Mountain Golf Course. Our experience was marred by constant harassment from the marshals, who seemed to go out of their way to make our round of golf miserable.

From the beginning, it was evident that something was amiss. We approached the marshal before teeing off to inquire about the course's busyness, to which he responded that it was not that busy. As we were celebrating my 40th birthday with a group of six, we asked if we could play together. Shockingly, the marshal informed us that playing as a group of six was not allowed, so we reluctantly agreed to split into smaller groups.

However, our frustration grew when we noticed two groups in front of us playing as a group of five. It became apparent that there was a discrepancy in the rules being enforced. Therefore, on the third hole, we decided to play as a group of six since there was nobody behind us, and we were not impeding the pace of play.

Unfortunately, our decision did not sit well with the marshal. At hole six, he approached us and reiterated that we were not allowed to play as a group of six. We pointed out the inconsistency with the group in front of us, which consisted of five players plus their girlfriends riding along for fun. Nevertheless, the marshal insisted that five was acceptable, but six was not. He forced us to split up and continued to follow us around the course.

As we reached the end of the front nine, two of my friends had had enough of the marshal's relentless monitoring and decided to leave. This incident alone significantly impacted the enjoyment of my 40th birthday celebration. The remaining four of us attempted to continue playing, but the marshal continued his intrusive surveillance.

I repeatedly tried to reason with the marshal, explaining that we were now a group of four and there was no need for him to follow us around, checking our numbers. However, he became increasingly hostile and accused me of talking back to him. Ultimately, he made the unjust decision to kick us out of the course.

This entire experience left a bitter taste in our mouths and made me question whether I would ever consider returning to Bear Mountain Golf Course. It is disheartening to think that non-local players are treated with such disdain, as if we are not welcome on the course.

I strongly advise anyone planning to visit this course, especially those traveling from out of town, to beware of the unwelcoming atmosphere and the potential for harassment by the marshals. This course needs to address its inconsistencies in enforcing rules and ensure that all players are treated fairly and respectfully.

In conclusion, my round of golf at Bear Mountain Golf Course was an absolute nightmare, courtesy of the marshals' constant harassment and their discriminatory treatment of non-local players. It is a shame that such behavior can ruin what should have been a memorable occasion.

We checked on line for cost & learned it is $37 for 9 holes. We called ahead on Tue. June 6 2023 from Arrowhead to confirm senior price. Were told $32 & made the 30 mile trip to play. but the two girls at front desk said the lady we talked to on phone was “wrong, there is no senior price the true price is 37.00 and would not budge. They looked at each other and
Laughed. No apology nor expression of regret for the misinformation !!!!! I asked for a flyer to show prices. The reply was “We don’t have one.” We were forced to pay the higher fee. Buyer beware!!! Very poor handling of customers …. Bad business ethics !!!

Pretty rude girls at front desk. Bad attitude for the brunette, seemed like she would rather not be working there. Tee time was later in the day at 3. Su goes down at 7. Enough time to play 18. At the turn they put up a chain to block people from playing a full 18. Should tell people this after they pay for a round. Will not go back to play this course. Pretty disappointed. Played yesterday. Third annual outing with our crew. Was advised at check-in that we were not scheduled for 18 holes. What?? No mention made of 9 or 18 hole play when I made tee time a week in advance. Manager was not receptive to our situation. Would be unable to allow us 18 holes since they were all booked up. What?? Just make the turn and continue play right? Overall the course "good" condition. Friendly grounds crew. Greens are well kept but cart paths and fairways are a rough ride. Prolly won't make the drive again.

I enjoy this challenging part 35, nine hole at over 6,400 feet in elevation with the Bear Mtn. Ski Resort as its back drop. Ball placement is crucial while you need to bring your best short-game and putter, since the greens are challenging. Weather can very from cold and windy to hot and calm, depends on the mountain. Can play quick during the week days.

Superb course with greens to rival my local Country Club. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Thanks to Greg, Leonie and Christine (loved your pink hard hat and chardonnay elixir, yum). Ask about the lunch rates that include food, golf and speedy cart. Club House was well stocked with Stella Artois and "in the know" staff.

Forget to bring your clubs? Not a problem as they rent them. Pro Shop sported Oakley Polo Shirts and enough swag to outfit a Pro like Bubba Watson. Was he playing that day? I promised to keep a secret and though Bubba does have his "Green Jacket" hanging at Augusta, but plays all over the United States I heard.

Bear Mountain Golf Course is on my top 10 list of Golf courses at elevation! Small enough to walk, yet my pockets were not capricious enough to adequately oblige my 275 yard shot fuel---tragic! So I rolled on with a cart number 13, a few pink balls, ball dryer and liquid fuel---and no regrets for calling four more than three times. Play this course---was an awesome experience, with cool breezes and views from 7000 feet! After have lunch at the grill!

We called and the only t time was late in the after noon, We arrived and checked in, they informed us that the group ahead of us had not arrived yet. They asked us to wait until they arrived. Another group arrived and were told the same thing, to also wait. When the earlier group arrived they let all three groups go, causing a big back up. Waiting our turn at the first hole, other people began to line up in carts as well as walkers. By the second hole one member from the group behind us walks through our game and precedes to jump to the 3rd hole passing us. Now the remaining two members of the group behind us began to yell 4 and start hitting the ball at us. We are trying to rush since the group behind us is now playing on the same hole. On the 8th hole the course Marshall finally comes by and tells us we need to pick up the pace it getting close to closing time. If you didn't make us wait for someone who was late for there t time we wouldn't have been backed up and running late. What a complete waist of money!!!!!!!! Sometimes they have a course Marshall at the first hole spacing people out, and this helps. They seem to book t times very closely together, also allowing whoever shows at whatever time to just jump in. There profits are way more important then there customers experience.

Came here with a bunch of great friends and the feeling was great. We bought 16 rounds of golf, rented like 6 sets of clubs, and all got lunch... we were all respectful and had a good time. At the end of the whole thing we had an experience with Alex and the other staff where I felt a legitimate sense of injustice and arrogance.

One of our guys, on the second hole (second time using a heavily used rented driver) had the head break off the club—a clean hit no ground. Seriously, broke right off and almost hit one of our friends. He then had to play the whole round with no driver. Upon hearing this, the staff, instead of apologizing for a bad club & rental experience and offering a refund, they went richter and said it was our fault and charge us a full $150 for the club (and with a passive aggressive rudeness).

This ruined the whole experience for the entire 16 guys & we all ended up pitching in for our buddy because we felt so bad.

Alex blamed it on corporate rules and bunch of other stuff where he missed a major opportunity to make a good decision for customers. Major fail. We all had grace & gave him and staff plenty of chance to do the right thing, which did not happen. Bummed. There are definitely opportunities for growth here in customer relations.

Don't bother with this course. It's worth driving down-mountain.

Let's be clear...this is a crappy golf course. Yes, the views are pretty. Yes, you can hit further at altitude. That does not a golf course make.

The $40 price for walking at twilight was somehow less of a steaming pile of horse**** than the tee box, which were miniature imitations of the surrounding mountains. The greens were hard (expect to bounce off), slow, bumpy, and it looked like the grass was starting to be replaced by a native plant.
