Took a strength class at BFT with Jessica and Justin and it was excellent from start to finish. Both trainers were amazing, motivating, knowledgeable, and really attentive to form. The workout focused on weightlifting and included multiple sets of bench presses, shoulder presses, bent-over barbell rows and assisted pull-ups. Each round increased the weight and reduced the reps, which kept it challenging and engaging. The energy in the room was great and the coaching made a big difference. One of the best structured strength classes l've taken. Five stars all the way.

I went to BFT Huntington Beach for Hyrox training with a friend and had the best workout in a while! The staff and trainer were incredibly friendly and supportive, making the experience even better. I’m from Los Angeles, so driving to HB is no quick trek, but it was absolutely worth it. Can’t wait to come back and train again!

BFT HB is a phenomenal gym. Their staff is friendly and knowledgeable in the kinesiology field. The gym and the equipment is top of the line.

I participated in the Hyrox training session today at BFT HB and I really appreciated how they divided the class into groups in order to prevent any bottlenecking at the stations. It’s a great place to prep for the Hyrox event in Anaheim in December. I will be back very soon.

I can’t say enough good things about BFT Huntington Beach! The coaches—Don, Justin, Travis, Jessica, and the whole team—are absolutely top-notch. They bring great energy, expert guidance, and genuine encouragement to every session.

What I really enjoy about BFT is the perfect mix of cardio and strength training. Every workout is challenging in the best way and keeps things fresh. I also love the team-focused environment—it really helps push you further and keeps you motivated when the workout gets tough.

I regret to amend my earlier positive review due to recent disappointing experiences with [BFT-huntington harbor]. In mid-March, unforeseen circumstances prevented me from attending several classes, causing me to miss the cancellation window. Despite my sudden and consecutive absences, the studio did not reach out to check on my well-being. Instead, I was charged multiple times for each missed class without any prior communication. This approach contrasts sharply with other studios I’ve attended, where staff would proactively contact members after unusual attendance patterns to ensure everything was alright and advise on how to manage upcoming sessions to avoid escalating charges.

After incurring several hundred dollars in fees, my ability to book classes was suspended until the charges were settled. These frequent and unusually high charges were initially flagged by my bank as potentially fraudulent. Once the payments were processed, I attempted to book classes for the remainder of my billing cycle, only to discover that my membership had been terminated without any notification, explanation, or confirmation from the studio. This unilateral action left me without access to the classes I had already paid for, including those missed due to the account hold.

As a result, I have not received any communication from the studio regarding the abrupt cancellation of my membership. While I considered reaching out, I believe it is the responsibility of the service provider to inform clients of such decisions, especially when payments have been made in full. Although I enjoyed my time at the studio, this experience has led me to conclude that I would not have continued my membership regardless.

Additionally, during my two months at the Huntington Harbor location, I observed certain staff dynamics that I found unprofessional. Specifically, during evening classes, the front desk was often unattended as staff members participated in workouts, sometimes alongside friends. This led to a disproportionate amount of attention being given to a select few, leaving the rest of the class without adequate guidance. Such practices detract from the inclusive and supportive environment that studios should strive to maintain.

On a positive note, I would like to acknowledge trainers Jessica and Travis. Their dedication and support during workouts were commendable and greatly appreciated.

It’s so good, I got my whole family to join. The workouts are always fun and different, so I’ve never been bored. Even though I can’t lift heavy or do much cardio, I’ve never felt as if I don’t belong. The coaches and community are so accepting and uplifting, they are the main reason I keep showing up.

I loved this place so much, I made them give me a job! The progressive programming, our top notch coaches and our cutting edge technology are unique in this business. Personally I am a hard core yogi, I had reconstructive shoulder surgery about 2 years ago and after just 1 month of strength training my chaturanga’s (yogi pushups sequence) are back! The staff is caring and knowledgeable about safely getting you to teach your goals!

Love BFT! Brand new facility (opened July 2024) so all equipment is state of the art and it’s located on the waterfront in Huntington Harbor. This is a class based gym with scientifically designed workouts to target all facets of personal fitness. The coaches are great and the sense of community amongst the members is super cool! I’m so happy I found this gym. Never felt more alive!

I’ve been working out here for months… but I started at an athletic zero. I’d waited too many years to get back into it. I love this place. I love the workout and I love the people, the trainers, the fellow athletes- everyone is kind, inclusive and supportive.

The workouts are hard- and they tailor them to your needs. I’m finally feeling fit again- and I know they have been the ones to help me push myself to get there.

If you aren’t sure, if you hate the feeling of being the new person in class, if you’ve not worked out for years- or have never done group fitness, come and try this place out- you won’t regret it.

They use heart rate monitors and reach you an awareness of your effort, your breathing and give you attainable goals!

I’ve tried many group fitness places, gyms and programs…. This place and these people make it the best experience I’ve had.

I cannot rave enough about the community at BFT. My coworker has gone everyday for the last 5 months and consistently asked me to take a class with her. I eventually ended up taking a class and now I’ve become a member. The community, coaches and location are incredible. It feels like I have a personal trainer even in a group setting. The best way to describe BFT is it is private training in a group class. There are always 2 instructors who are paying close attention to each member to ensure their form is correct, they are pushing themselves and not over exerting themselves. BFT has a team of educated and certified professionals who take time to talk to you 1 on 1. You are helped with everything from nutrition to fitness and even mental wellness tips. The BFT team wants truly wants to see you succeed.

You're in for a treat when you hit BFT, which has an epic view of the HB Harbor - it's breathtaking at any time of day! Whether you're a morning person or an evening person, you've got plenty of opportunities to squeeze in a session. Classes start as early as 5am and go all the way until 6:30pm, so you can easily fit it into your schedule, no matter what your day looks like.

The level of cleanliness is the best I have ever seen in a gym! The equipment is new and nice.

You're part of a community that's all about lifting each other up! Everyone's got each other's backs, and that's what makes it so awesome. You'll find that people are always cheering each other on, and that sense of camaraderie helps keep everyone motivated and accountable. It's like having a built-in support system that's always there to encourage you to reach your goals.

I was familiar with BFT prior to joining the location at Peter's Landing but am so thrilled with the community, coaches and atmosphere at BFT Huntington Beach! The community is unmatched and the entire staff has built such a strong foundation where everyone shows up and supports one another. The coaches - Justin, Travis, Dorota and Don always bring enthusiasm, motivation and support to every single class they teach. Working as a fitness professional, I had yet to find a program that was progressive, effective and efficient. Just had an amazing workout at this location. I was in the area for vacation and decided to keep my exercise routine up. The staff/trainers/owner were all amazing and welcoming. I was originally a member at BFT Irvine and loved it SO MUCH but it was too far from my place in HB. I knew this location in Peter’s Landing was going to open eventually and was so happy once it did! 💖 Not only are BFT workouts and equipment ✨ELITE✨ but the trainers and staff are always the absolute BEST! This location is no exception and I felt super welcomed and cared for right away! Highly recommend the 5am classes as the sunrise over the marina is gorgeous!! ☀️

I have never been a consistent gym goer, and historically, I've only worked out as punishment for gaining weight.

When I saw the instagram ad for BFT in HB, I was feeling depressed about my weight, my cholesterol, and my lack of energy to do anything.

I signed up for the free class, and said, I'll just go once, and I'll see if I can do any of the work outs.

I showed up to my first class nervous about being the biggest person there, and that I would have to modify every exercise.

The thing I love about BFT, is that each person has a waist band monitor. This monitor will keep each individual aware at all times of their heart rate in relation to their maximum heart rate.

The beauty of this, for a plus size woman, is that I may reach 80% maximum heart rate by doing step ups, while another achieves it by doing jump ups. I can see my heart rate and know I am doing a good job- even modifying when I need to.

I've also focused on my breathing and lowering my heart rate for the first time ever in a class.

I feel safe working out at BFT with the trainers because they care about each individual doing the exercise correctly, targeting the correct muscles, and not injuring themself by pushing to unrealistic goals for a fitness "newbie" who just wants to show up and sweat.

By the end of my first class, I was blown away by everything BFT offered me. I wanted to join, and couldn't wait for them to go over the class options.

The trainers that I've had are Justin, Travis, Don and Dorata. Dorata's Balanced class gave me tiny little baby abs that I felt for 3 days (underneath my round tummy), and Travis helped me keep going in my cardio class when I felt like slowing down, Don has helped me with nutrition and gave me great feedback on my new healthy meals, and Justin is a power house who reminds me to focus on my breathing and on drinking my protein.

All of the trainers have kept me motivated, and encouraged to come back and do it again. Also, I really like the community and seeing some people more than once and getting to know them is like a little bonus social perk.

I am so glad that I signed up with BFT! The studio is super clean, the staff/coaches are all very nice, accommodating, and motivating, and the variety of workouts is great. As someone who gets bored easily, it’s nice that the types of workouts change every week, and we’re able to use real squat racks and weights. Plus, a cold eucalyptus towel at the end is the icing on the cake.

Strength days are just that, maybe 6 exercises with multiple sets, allowing you to move up in weight and focus. And cardio days you’re working to keep your heart rate in a certain zone, it’s not an all-out max out, which I think is great.

I have been to a lot of gyms, this one is my favorite by a landslide. Aside from the great and versatile workouts, their coaches are the real deal. They make you want to push yourself to limits you didn’t know you could reach and are the most supportive I have ever met. Not only that, but they make you feel like family. They truly truly care about you, your goals, and how your week is going. This place has such positive energy when you walk in and when you walk out, you bring it with you throughout the day! First time work out last Tuesday for their upper body and coached on was hands-on concerned about my shoulder inpongment injury and how to rehab the shoulder without injuring it.

Been dealing with that injury for five years and this was the most intense workout I’ve had since well before I was injured. Definitely deserved the tricep bicep soreness that reminded me a couple of days that I need to get back into this to get my Fitness back in gear w/near one on one personal training.

The BFT “Program” Yes, unique but basically muscle confusion is the plan and everyone wears a heart rate monitor And your heart rate is up on the TV screen under your name so they’re constantly looking at that as I was to make sure it’s up at the right level so you’re getting the cardio benifit even though you’re not doing any cardio In the upper body class…
Never the same program on the same day so it’s systematic If The same two or three days a week I’m not gonna get the same class on those days. It’s always gonna be different.

Kiera Sign me up preopening And finally got in there and after the class she asked me how was it and I said wow you guys got to open these across the country and she says we already have 320 locations as this is the new wave of Gym Fitness.

Sidebar; The Huntington Beach/Peter’s Landing location is waterfront so walking up you see tens of millions of dollars of boats and yachts and inside the studio you can see similar and walking out again refreshing so it’s not in some dumpy strip center that a lot of these private training studios are in.

Equipment was “best of the best” pristine and They added in some music from AC/DC to Other similar As background music, but then when getting to the third set and everyone’s fading, they turn it up and somehow that made us all get that extra bit of energy to get those last set out and was awesome so we didn’t feel the pain PAIN of being in a good way “thrashed”.

I’ll be 65 this December and I had an energy rush on this literally for two days so going back Sunday for another dose!!
