Pudji is an incredible yoga teacher and is talented in activating and tuning the mind, body, and soul. Her practice is welcoming to all and she always has wisdom and joy to share. Pudji brings so much insight, creativity and heart to her yoga teaching. Her knowledge of body mechanics is truly impressive. Her keen eye can detect imbalances, and, as a result, she can modify movements to accommodate—and improve—a multitude of issues. I now have a wonderful catalog of Pudji Wisdom in my head that I apply to even the most routine movements and activities every single day. Don’t hesitate to take a class with this wonderful soul. Pudji has trained me for several years in Zoom workouts. I have told her that I have trouble describing to others what she is teaching -- yoga? tai chi? chi gong? She answered "I teach you what you need." And THAT is the truth. With us older clients she focuses on balance, flexibility, mobility, and strength such that we can live better and more active lives. Pudji uses all of the above-mentioned techniques as well as her understanding of the human body to lead me through a workout that seems tailored for me. I highly recommend her!

I happened upon Bilik Yoga on a visit to San Francisco. The space is beautiful and calm. Pudji is so welcoming. I tried Ashtanga Yoga for the first time and she was a patient teacher, and even spent some time with me afterwards to give me some feedback. I highly recommend Pudji’s class!

3 years ago, I was an absolute beginner to yoga who came to Pudji with chronic lower back issues, pain and stiffness in my legs. Today, thanks to Pudji I have never felt better.
She's been helping me get stronger, regain my balance and flexibility.
Yoga has changed my outlook towards life and for that I am forever grateful to Pudji.

This is a small locally owned neighborhood studio. As it is a small studio, classes are small and you get a LOT of individual instruction and support from Pudji, the owner and only instructor at the studio. Since she is the only instructor, she gets to know you and your body really well, and does a wonderful job of individualizing and adapting her classes to each student as needed. I can confidently say that Pudji is one of the best yoga teachers I have had. She has a gift of quickly building strong and supportive relationships with each student and quickly encouraging us to master poses that, honestly, I thought would take months to do. Pudji gets us feeling comfortable and strong doing new poses in days.

Perhaps the only downside to a small studio is that there are limited class times available, but Pudji is always available to request private classes at other times, if needed! Pudji’s studio has all the same materials that bigger yoga studios offer (extra mats, blocks, straps, blankets, etc) and the extra benefit of a strong sense of neighborhood community and friendship. If you buy a pack of classes, the price is also a little more affordable than bigger yoga studios in the area.

Lastly, I’ve seen Pudji run classes with children and with individuals with disabilities such as autism and cerebral palsy. Pudji is SO good at providing extra help and support for these students, making the class fun and inclusive, all the while maintaining a high level of expectations and instruction for other students. She has an amazing skill at running a single class at multiple different levels as needed for each student.

When I first met Pudji on zoom during covid lockdown, I knew right away that this would be a lasting connection. Not only did she help me (quiet literary) find my core, strength and balance, but she also helped me rediscover core of being joyful , strength of believing in yourself and balance in my daily life.

I have been practicing with Pudji for almost four years now, three times a week, (no exceptions), first on zoom and lately in her beautiful, sunny, welcoming Shala which is so reflective of her person and her style of teaching.

Classes are always fun, challenging and mindful and I always leave feeling strong, happy and accomplished. She gently, playfully and safely encourages you to explore and push against your limits whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned practitioner. I have never felt better or stronger in my life.

Shala feels like family and community where everyone is always welcome, (even neighborhood dogs know to stop by for a treat).

Bilik Shala and Pudji are the best. The particular strengths I find at Bilik are: a focus on the creating a community of practitioners; a disciplined, rigorous approach to the asanas with clear explanations and cueing; an encouraging teaching style with lots of feedback and an intimate serene space for practice. I go to several vinyasa classes in a typical week and while the pace of Pudji's classes is slower/more deliberate than most they are often "harder" as she stresses doing the poses properly or at least as close to properly as our individual bodies allow us. Finally, Pudji has a purpose, something she wants to point out to us, for every class and every class is different. A class with Pudji has become a necessary part of my week.

Pudji is truly a blessing to the neighborhood. I've been doing yoga on and off all over the city for years and I can honestly say I started to learn and love the real practice of yoga in a totally new way when Bilik opened. Pudji is not only a wonderful and caring teacher, she understands the body and sees what your body is capable of and what your body needs. She challenges you in the right moments and corrects your postures to bring awareness to each and every muscle and breath. Pudji really makes the studio feel welcoming at any level and creates a fun, energizing and spiritual environment. Classes are now my cup of coffee and I always leave feeling rejuvenated, like I can take on the world and handle whatever comes my way!

Bilik Yoga Shala is clean and welcoming. I love the small classes because students get the true benefit of personal instruction. My yoga goal back in 2020 when I started practicing with Pudji was to deepen my forward fold and then see what happened from there. Because of Pudji’s instruction, guidance, and encouragement I can do many things I didn’t think possible, such as wheel and headstand. Pudji is a gifted yoga teacher because she knows so much about anatomy and postures, and is able to share her knowledge with her cues and instructions.

Came for my Body, stayed for my Mind!
I am a man in my 40s and I have never done yoga until I tried a lesson with Pudji a few years ago. First, I had no idea that a yoga session could be that challenging physically as it feels more efficient than a basic gym workout to me. Second, I was impressed with Pudji's ability to give a group lesson and yet feel that she customized the yoga pauses to me! Somehow, Pudji knows all her students by name and seems able to adapt the lesson to each of us. Now I try to come every week and I feel better in my body and Pudji's words of wisdom (cleverly spread out through the class) also help me feel better in my mind. "Slowly, mindfully", thanks Pudji!
