My husband played soccer here in an adult league, loved the athletes, loved the referees, and the atmosphere.

The reason why ONE star, the outside fields are in no condition for ANYONE to be playing on. My husband stepped directly on concrete while playing at a night game and twisted his knee. Was out of work for over 6 weeks, had to go to rehab, and still is having issues. The fields are TERRIBLE and NO ONE should be playing on them till they are replaced.
Beautiful indoor facilities but the place you can tell is wearing down and they are not keeping up with it which in return people keep getting hurt.

Cleanliness of the facility in the past 6 months has gone down hill. There is no soap in the upstairs restroom for over a week now and even things like routine maintenance have gone over looked.

The water fountain is usually broken and the filter is expired and I think there is mould growing. Overall a very unclean establishment.

Not the same as it use to be. They had renovations done, which would generally be a good thing, but they totally butchered this place for the worse. I dont know who thought it was a good idea, but they were sadly mistaken.

Turf fields are fine. Inside is hot during the summer. Refs are doing their best but calls do get missed and games do get chippy as a result. Also the girls bathroom never has soap in the evening, either the sensors aren’t working or there is just no soap in them, and recently also is short on toilet paper, 3/4 stalls had none.

I miss the old bladium! I have my kids in little kickers and skills but I miss having more fields and the over all experience much more lively and friendly beforehand. I don’t understand why there are so many pickle ball fields now and I never see anyone using them! And the prices have gone up! Sad I used to love it here not the same anymore also wondering if the boxing gym is also now gone?

I never write reviews but I had too for this experience. I used to play here when I was younger and I LOVED IT. Recently I started to play again and it was the worst experience ever. Reff is very biased. He did not know how to control the soccer games when it started getting very intense. Resulting in people getting hurt. I even got hurt in one occasion. He canceled mid games about 4 times. I just wasted my time and gas for these games he cancelled. The reff would talk back to players thinking he was funny which is very unprofessional. I tried to get my moneys worth back since he kept canceling games because of players from another team. When I called for this very problem to tell management that I am not getting my moneys worth they literally just hung up on me which is very unprofessional. Management refuses to do anything about the reff change as well. Very disappointed and sad in the new management. I used to love coming here for soccer but now it’s not even fun.

The soccer league is terrible the referees are biased. Was pushed head first into the wall and the ref did nothing about it. I was also purposely elbowed in the face and very little was done even with large complaints from my team and choach.

*edit 10/29/23
They’ve fixed the outdoor fields but keep in mind there is an annual fee that you have to pay on top of a fee for each team/league you join. Also, I started playing indoor but will only play during the winter, it is SO HOT in there, there’s no AC and I’ve heard absolute horror stories about playing in there with no ventilation when its 90 degrees out.
It’s a really great place with potential, if they actually maintained their fields it would get 5 stars but those outdoor soccer fields are horrible and hazardous. Playing on those fields feels like a warzone, they really need to fix them since it’s SO EXPENSIVE to sign up for soccer and then you play on a monstrosity of a field? One would think the money would go to the maintenance of the facilities.

Customer service is terrible. I figured it’d be different than my experiences at 24 hour seeing as it’s a little more expensive and the facilities are nicer but I wasn’t happy after my interaction with the front desk people. Was given two different answers from two different people regarding a problem I was wanting to trouble shoot and the second gentleman I spoke to was cold and rude and I could tell he was just wanting to put an end to the conversation as quickly as possible as opposed to being of any help. Left a poor taste in my mouth. After reading other reviews it seems as though they love to scam customers on a regular basis. 10/10 would not recommend this gym. Pretty unfortunate.

God forbid they raise their prices in the Bay Area and you all complain. Lol. I remember playing the Bladium bombers in TPC tournaments as a kid coming up from San Jose. Just happy to visit again as an adult. Amazing place. People stop crying about prices it’s your choices to buy houses here and raise their rent and taxes.

Not the Same Bladium as before! There’s been a change of management so the once Bladium we all knew and loved will be now turned into a Pickle Ball Center? (What even is Pickle Ball??) Gym Machines have been greatly reduced, Soccer Pitches have been removed, as well as Volleyball and Basketball Courts to make way for the new renovations. On top of all of this, despite them saying they won’t raise the price, THEY ARE!! Membership will go up from $75 to $80 dollars, and on top of this to even be able to use the new pickle ball courts you’ll have to pay $50 ON TOP of the 75$ monthly. Unfortunately the all-in-one, one of a kind fitness center we knew as the Bladium is sadly no more. :(

Looks like someone was super unprofessional today. The guy kicked a whole church group of kids who had reserved the field for a last minute request. The guy said they had to remove themselves from the field because the other league was better. When the leader of the church told the guy to give him his manager’s number he refused and told the lady’s at the front not cooperate with the church. When the youth group ask for a refund for being removed from their reserve time they were denied. How disrespectful and unprofessional! To remove a group of kids who had reserved days prior and just for some last minute “better” league.

Update - had to lower stars because the front desk does a poor job of customer service. They are not friendly, very corporate and profit-driven. They wanted to charge me $29 to reactivate my membership. Not very enthusiastic about me returning, they could care less, so I didn’t. Also, there are no guest passes so friends and family cannot work out with you unless they pay the drop in fee.

The gym is really big with many things to do. The equipment is in good condition, and everything is clean. The locker rooms and bathrooms are newly renovated, clean, and spotless. The locker room is also big and has nice showers. Plenty of parking.

Update: new ownership decided to axe CrossFit for more parking. Looks like they really needed it. They also decided to prioritize 18 pickle ball courts over the gym area; now everything is crammed into a smaller area than before they remodeled it.

My husband (aka: Mr Fabulous) and I have been part of the Bladium community for a decade now and their group classes and facility are top notch! I’ve tried a few gyms across the island but needed a more challenging workout — and Bladium does more than deliver on that! Instructors are inclusive, energetic, and dedicated. It’s sad that Bladium CrossFit ended and it’s a good way for everyone to switch it up. I plan to ignore the bad vibes with a great workout!!

It used to be a great place for my family to come. My son was on soccer and BJJ while my wife and I on crossfit. Out of nowhere they decided to close the CrossFit area so we're going to cancel our kids activities as well

The crossfit box didn't use that much space and we had a great community there but Bladium management decided to shut it down. I can't stress how stupid this decision is

★ 1

They had a phenomenal CrossFit box there and have now informed the membership they are closing it so they can cash grab on folks wanting to rent pickleball courts.

Because it's apparently silly for a fitness center to have fitness classes.

You're better off paying for another place, just in case you fall in love with one of your classes and they decide to cancel the class to install some dumb fad game court.

PARENTS BEWARE: I recently had an experience with Baldium Sports Camp that left me more than disappointed. Actually shocked.

I was surprised to find out that during camp hours, the kids were watching TV instead of participating in the various fun activities that were advertised, such as basketball, kickball, and arts and crafts. This is completely the opposite of an active and enriching experience I had hoped for when choosing Bladium camp for my children.

I emailed the camp director Ben Maxwell and unsurprisingly never got a response. I also called and spoke to Jimmy about some problems my kids encountered at the camp, and while he acknowledged the issues and promised to call back, I never heard from him again.

In the email, I mentioned the disengagement of some coaches who seemed more interested in their phones than interacting with the kids. Nobody was checking kids out of the camp during pickup, which seems like a basic requirement to have a license to take care of children.

While I await a response from the camp, I DO NOT recommend the camp due to the issues mentioned, and will never send my kids to a Bladium camp, Nike KIDS Camp or US Sports Camps again.

Unprofessional, careless, overpriced tournaments etc etc etc

They charge over $1,000.00 per team and they careless rules, like I said before, never give you the full play time, it’s supposed to be 25 minutes each half but your team really end up playing less. I have talked to several coaches from several clubs and have encouraged them to find real soccer leagues with REAL SOCCER RULES! We play Saturday’s outdoor but due to raining season last 2 games were played inside but for first game on Friday 01/07/23 they changed it rules for the Goals and the second game we played the next day on Saturday they change it rules again. We won the game but the manager will not take care of this issue because he will affect his friends from the other team. And would highly encourage you once again not to participate at this “sports/bar establishment” there are plenty of other tournaments to take your teams out there, bladium bleh! They just want your money and could care less for the safety of your players.

Nice to see they updated the locker rooms, sauna and steam rooms. But they really gotta enforce the rules especially the one that says no gym bags in the weight area. In one visit I saw at least 3 people with large bags just leave them on the weight area floor. In one case someone just plopped their bag, keys and water bottle right in front of the stairs leading up to the weights area. SUPER UNSAFE. Not sure why you need to lug a huge duffel bag to every machine and can't just leave it on the wood bench area or use a locker. Other than that the machines and facilities in general seem to be maintained very well throughout the years.

I was disappointed by the staff and how they treated the US Flag!! We were leaving and saw that a display with the US flag had fell over. A group of people asked to bring the display in to the building and a woman being rude told us no it’s not in our agreement with the tournament directors!! So we have to leave the flag outside and had to find away to keep it off the ground! You are in a old military base and your staff has no respect for the flag!! On top of that she was so rude!!!

It doesn’t seem that some staff is well trained in the facilities as they could answer zero questions I had. I signed up to use the weights and Basketball court and was disappointed when I learned that from 6-9 every weekday the one basketball court is taken up by a volleyball team, so I canceled right after I got there. It gets good marks for not having a contract. I can’t recommend it for anyone looking to do both Basketball and workouts.

The Bladium is hands down the best gym on the island. Although the location isn't the most convenient , the gym's range of equipment makes it an enjoyable experience especially during non busy hours. Usually gets crowded around 5-8pm or earlier in the morning, for the most part not busy what so ever. There are also 5 soccer fields available and a basketball court that are a lot of the time entirely open to anyone with a membership during slow hours.

WARNING!
First, non-members use the gym during gym hours. I guess the gym is open to the general public because after 4 pm random people attend and bring their children and start drinking while children are present, so generally speaking it's not safe because you have a lot of drunks walking around every day. Second, the gym always appears to be rented if you want to use the fitness section were all the mechanical machinery is located good luck I have witnessed how all the old farts follow the young women around and act like they are working out just to watch them. I am appalled by some of the behavior I have witnessed. I feel sorry for some of the women but I can tell the women know when the old men are working out next to them just to get a closer look at their body parts. If your a woman you have been warned the old men and some men in general will follow you around just to stare at you. I have witnessed it all year and have become frustrated by it because it's obvious. In addition, I never used the bathroom in the fitness section of the gym because they smell horrible but I have also witnessed how they clean the restrooms. Maintenance mops the floor with dirty mops, slightly wipe down the sinks and if the mirrors look clean dont clean them at all. Maintenance never cleans the sauna and the shower stalls they do a "thorough" cleaning on Thursday once a week, every other day it's a simple wipe down. I know because I am friends with the maintenance staff and have personally witnessed how the bathrooms are cleaned. They never thoroughly clean the women's bathroom so, if you are using the sauna or showers make sure you are fully clothes because you might catch something, carpets get cleaned once a month benches never get wiped. Also, I just learned that they are having trouble hiring people to keep the place clean so good luck guys hope you don't catch anything while you are there. When it comes to cleaning the fitness rooms were the trainers have their class they clean them once a week and slightly wipe down any dirt they see.

Third Bladium summer camp which means all summer and non-summer have kids running around the gym all day making it impossible to have a good work out, so basically every day, all day the gym is occupied by kids and even if you rent out the courts or fields there are still children running around and drunk people making it impossible to enjoy your time at the gym. Furthermore, they have a program youth coordinator named Kelsey McKeon that tries to get parents to join a summer scam camp called Triple Threat Academy (T.T.A.) which I consider a real sham because they charge people $280 for 3-4 days to be trained by one of their 'PERSONAL TRAINERS" named Drew Nash. I did some research and have found the private contractor T.T.A to be a sham company I doubt they are even an LLC. I looked online and found their address and main office location to be a UPS store when I spoke to UPS management they said no company (T.T.A.) by that name is located there. Also, I looked online at the T.T.A website to get more information on the "personal trainer" and found Drew Nash does not possess the proper credentials. As a matter of fact people actually need a Bachelor's in Kinesiology to be a personal trainer Drew Nash doesn't even possess a Child Development certification that is required by law to work with kids. Sorry but having a high school diploma and some college basketball experience doesn't make you a legit trainer or qualified to work with kids. Also, just because you have a website doesn't mean you have a legit company T.T.A. is charging people $280 for 3-4 days they have been working with Bladium for over a decade now. Basically, Bladium appears to just hire anyone to work with the kids and scammed their clients. So if you don't really care about your children's safety take them to Bladium camp. All information is online I will post some pictures and add links they honestly just hire random people to take care of the children.

I have been coming here for over 10 years now, and the improvements have been done tastefully. Yusuf, does an incredible job managing the rockwall. Cole also does a great job there whenever he is there. I would say the Rockwall area wouldn't be what it without the both of them. As long as I have been there, I had been boxing with Coach Henry for at least 8 years. I know what happened with him and it is no one's fault. It comes with age. But at least he is being taken care of. I will miss the boxing ring. But at least they left us space to train still. They also updated the bag area which is nice. Maybe one day they will get a new trainer and put the ring back in. But until then the current update is welcomed.

I bought a membership at this gym about 1.5 years ago. Shortly after purchasing the membership, my personal circumstances changed and I needed to move away from the area. Unsure if the move would be permanent, I was convinced by the staff to put a freeze on my membership, which I was told was free! I was given no paperwork to sign and was not given any additional information about the freeze. I noticed about a half year ago that, unbeknownst to me, the gym took the freeze off my membership and began charging me - despite the fact that my move was permanent and I never moved back to the area. Management has been unwilling to work with me to correct this issue despite repeated calls/emails over a period of months. I originally thought this gym had amazing facilities/staff, but this experience has been devastating.

I moved here a year ago and was so happy to have this gym close by. Terrific range of classes, amazing instructors with infectious energy, wide range of cardio and weight equipment and you can always find space as it is large and never feels crowded. One of my favorite gyms ever!

A general lack of communication to their members, no customer service, and poorly organized. I will not be renewing my membership. I am pulling my HS team after this session. I will no longer pay for such rubbish.

This was a fantastic spot for our NorCal Rush Soccer Club from Fremont to play some friendly Indoor winter league soccer competition! The staff was friendly and attentive! Not to mention, our boys had fun playing soccer in a very clean environment! He even won their games! Will be excited to travel back here again if we have any games in the future.

There is no cleaning staff. Referees are bias towards teams they know. This place makes a fortune off Soccer leagues but is not investing in its facility or staff. Very cool facility that is clearly mismanaged.

Never Crowded. Great Classes. I have struggled with fitness most of my adult life, but this place has me hyped to work out. Special shout outs to the sauna and steam rooms. Those are a crucial part of getting me to the gym.

Biggest gym in Alameda but it's dirty an unkempt. If you like futbol soccer this is the place for you. I'm pretty sure they don't have a cleaning staff. Don't use the showers tho. When I complained about the conditions they dropped me as a member then refunded me. I just wanted them to take care of this big amazing space.

Cant even let little kids play in the basketball court when no one is using it unless you have a "fitness pass". lmao fitness pass when 90% of the time its volleyball. Stupid rule from greedy people.

Referees have absolutely no control of the games. When you play soccer here, you risk getting punched in the neck, slapped, or scratched across the face - all three of which happened to my teammates in the last 2 indoor soccer seasons at Bladium. After the first incident, the referees and Luis, the indoor soccer director, completely dismissed our complaints when we said the matches were getting too verbally aggressive and violent. After Luis gave our team captain some lip service saying he agreed that things were getting out of hand and that he would tell the refs to call the games more tightly, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and came back for another season. Within a few weeks, my teammate was punched in the neck after a game escalated with the same referee from the previous incident. After sending that player off the field, the referee and the other team’s “coach” justified our player getting punched because she tackled their player. Regardless of whether or not it was a hard or clean tackle (and it was both hard and clean), that is absolutely disgusting and inappropriate to suggest that our player was to blame for getting punched in the neck. I’ll be surprised if Bladium doesn’t see legal action against them at some point as long as this behavior and lack of accountability for players’ safety continues.

The referees often lose control of the games here. This has caused many of my teams' players to be injured. After warning the Bladium multiple times that a particular team was getting too aggressive they chose to do nothing. If you play here or send your kids to play here just know that they value your $$$ more than your or your kids safety.

Really friendly staff and great equipment. Just got stationed here for the next year and needed a new gym. Came in, was shown around and in 30 mins I was signed up and using the equipment. Great for family's because of all fields and climbing walls but also really geared for health minded adults with all the classes and fitness center upstairs.

I love my gym! My husband and I have been memebers for a year now and we still go at least 2-3 times a week. Huge facility, I've never felt crowded. All of the staff and instructors are super friendly. All of the sitters at the kids play area know my son by name so I feel comfortable dropping him there while I get my workout in. He has a great time playing too!
