Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi is a yoga studio in Brea offering holistic wellness classes consisting of yoga, tai chi, meditation, and breathwork based on 5000-year-old Korean traditions. I stumbled upon Brea Body & Brain on ClassPass for their TaiChi & QiGong Class offering wirh Laura and had a great experience learning more about the art of Tai Chi and how to manifest better energy flow between my body & brain! The studio is well lit and open, and Laura, Master Jan, and Master Kim are all so inviting! After my second session with Master Kim, I could sense even more imbalances in my body and was impressed that he was more flexible than I was! Even though they appear to be simple movements, I still worked up a sweat and know there’s so much to learn from this practice. I’m excited to visit again!

Great way to get fit mentally and physically. I returned to this practice this year. I was a member back in 2011 after a snowboarding accident left me with a drop foot and severe nerve damage. I tried western medicine but it did no good. After signing up and Master Amy from Buena Park healing me, I was able to walk with no issue.
I was recently feeling stuck after I broke my foot last year and have been trying to get back in shape. I found Body & Brain and quickly realized it was the same group I was a member of so long ago. The name had changed so I thought they were gone for good after the Buena Park location closed. It used to be Dahn Yoga. This is a combination of yoga, movement, stretching, breathing, some massage, releasing stagnant energy and receiving positive energy. So much more. I love the master at the Brea location. Elba and new Amy are excellent teachers. I have also made a few new friends. Love it.

I can't say enough about this studio. Coming here has absolutely changed my life. I used to have chronic neck and back pain and went to the massage therapist every 2 weeks to alleviate the pain. Since coming to the center I do not need to go to a massage therapist and have found a new way to heal myself.
Coming here is now a way of life for me and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Wonderful first experience! My husband and I are just passing through OC for a couple nights for a concert and then head down to SD for our favorite band.

I didn't even know the class was starting in 5 minutes when I happened to see the master Elba and her assistant Jamie. And over some thought I decided to take the class!

Let me just say.. the warm up with Jamie was great and I learned so much from all the exercises we did. The information I learned in the first 15 minutes alone was a wealth of information

Master Elba was also wonderful in her teaching, asking each student what their physical aches and pains were, helping control our breath work, being kind and gracious and thankful to our bodies, but also challenging our bodies when stretching and moving.

Lastly we ended the class with some homemade tea and each one of us shared our thoughts on the class over the tea.

Overall, it was a wonderful healing experience and I highly recommend people in the area to try this studio's classes!!

I took the Yoga/Tai Chi class with Shoreh on Saturday and she was so welcoming to me and my mom on our first session. She teaches you how to focus and release stress. Come in with an open mind! If you arrive a little earlier than your class, she’ll do some stretching exercises/warm up with you. Would definitely recommend coming to this class especially if you’re a beginner!

The techniques taught are weird but they work! They’re all things as child we would do but have forgotten. Tapping, laughing, shaking, dancing and so much more. The Body and Brain Yoga Center in Brea has classes in yoga, Tai Chi, Qigong, energy movement, and meditation. I found the center to be staffed with positive, passionate, and knowledgeable instructors who teach from their very heart and soul. The atmosphere is very different from most yoga places - there's much more emphasis on energy and positivity, and you will be treated more like family than a student.

Body & Brain is one of the best things that has happened for me. Prior to private sessions I was facing a lot of anxieties over health and death, borderline hypochondriac due to seeing my Dad go through several health conditions and some hospital visits when I was very young myself. I never realized the lack of trust I had and disconnection from my own body to heal itself. After a few sessions, my fear subsided tremendously.

One of the main focuses of these centers is to help each person get closer to their true selves and in helping others by finding a deep love and connection for self.

I’ve never been pushed once to do something I didn’t want to do. The guidance is very helpful and they always try to help whether it’s offering some free classes or just being there for you. It’s now been almost 3 years for me and I see myself as a member or practicing their techniques for the rest of my life. I am truly grateful for this center and each and every person who I’ve come across being here.

Coming to body and brain I realized it was different than anything I'd done. As a kids yoga teacher I was interested in their kids yoga programs and taking my son there! I quickly became a member. When my hip was starting to unallign and cause a lot of pain, master Amy, who originally taught in New York, did accupressure and told me which energy meridians were being blocked. I had made an appt. With a chiropractor and 1 week later didnt need it, canceled it. This is 2 weeks later and I'm 100% better with no pain in my hip. I also have never felt more relaxed then I do at the end of a core class here! Like fall asleep relaxed which is my issue, my brain waves are constant and my nervous system is always in active mode. So that's really something! I come to class at least twice a week and practice at home. Recommend this place to anyone who needs healing in any way! Master Elba has an incredible story. Call and ask her to tell you!

I have been a Gold Member for years at this studio, but have just returned after a 2 year break due to becoming a mother! I brought my daughter to a family yoga class designed to include children and she LOVES it! It is also super fun to be practicing together as mother and daughter. I booked an appointment here not knowing what to expect as I know nothing about Tai Chi or Yoga. But I knew they were open 7 days a week and had a very comprehensive yet structured health program. My body and brain was a mess, but I felt at peace by the end of my 45 min trial session.

I attended both morning and evening sessions for 2 weeks straight to get familiar with the rest of the staff and people also looking for a healthier lifestyle. After a month I felt like a newer, better ME! There's classes for children as well and they have special events around the holidays and throughout the year.

I have family on the east coast as well and my mother, who was visiting and familiarizing herself with the Center, is looking to join when she returns home. They have numerous Centers throughout the country and your membership can be paused when on vacation, or you can simply attend another Center where you happen to be. Words cannot express the level of help and dedication the staff AND members offered to me. Whether you're a beginner like me, or an expert like so many I've seen attending the classes, this is THE place for body, brain, and spiritual growth!!!

I was at first skeptical in going to a yoga class. I felt some intimidation in going to a class where I know my flexibility and balance is really quetionable.
But I started seeing my daughter improved a lot in how she handles stress. It brought relief with her upper back pain.
After my daughter let me read the book-I’ve decided to live 120 years by Ilchi Lee, I finally had the courage to get an initial assessment by Master Amy. She has this calming and reassuring voice that made me feel comfortable right away.
I just started the class last week of January and I am slowly ripping the benefits of cool head and belly warm.
I look forward in attending classes with Master Amy and Panida with their magnetic smiles.

For those of you who have thought about yoga/meditation but haven't yet gone to a facility, this is not only the right time to start... but this also the PLACE to start. I've been doing meditation for about 8 months at a location in West Covina (it closed down, unfortunately), however, this place blows the other one out of the water. Just in the pure relaxation and energy you receive (and feel) in this place after sessions is incredible!

Through my personal transformation, the following describes how I feel now compared to how I felt prior to Body & Brain Yoga:

OLD PETER: I was stuck in my own mind's activity (I had a hot brain! You'll learn more about that later :D ).

NEW PETER: I am now in a state of peace! I've learned the process of "water up - fire down" and it's had a tremendous effect on me on a day-to-day basis!

OLD PETER: I was very prone to stress over the small things... seeing life as place of scarcity and through eyes that told me "the more you lose, the more I gain"; this put a lot of pressure on me

NEW PETER: I am now free of stress... viewing the world as a wonderful place to be in, and loving every day in a mental state of abundance and gratitude!

OLD PETER: My mind and body always felt like it was in a box, trapped and uneventful, living through the same routine tasks every day

NEW PETER: The best word to describe my lifestyle now is "Expansive", without limitations and seeing the world through the eyes of love and connection!

OLD PETER: My interactions with others was "stiff". What do I mean by this? While socializing with others... I didn't feel a great connection, as if words flowed out of my mouth without meaning.

NEW PETER: I not connect with others, both people I know and people who are complete strangers. I am filled with compassion and love towards everyone I come in contact with!

Overall, to put things simply, what I'm trying to say is... JUST DO IT! I would say to "Be All That You Can Be"... but I believe that slogan has already been taken... lol

In any case, the moment you take your first step is the moment you open up yourself to brand new possibilities, possibilities that you will have never known existed. I encourage you to open a new page for yourself and experience not the struggle that you could be currently living in, but experience a new you... a new you with meaning, power, love, compassion, peace, joy, and fulfillment! I've learned so much about myself, and I want you to experience the same.

Body & Brain center, Dahn Yoga, Brea, the instructors, all of them and all of it, has given me the strength to change my life for the better. I have never been more in tune to life and the value I have for myself and the universe. I know it sounds pretty intense, and that's because it is. I have found myself in this journey of practicing yoga, not only in the center but in my daily life. I used to practice yoga as an exercise, to sweat and to be flexible. I did not realize that those are the added benefits (side effects if you will) of learning to trust the power within us all.

Almost 6 months ago, I was suffering from chronic cough, difficulty breathing, weight gain and many other frequent ailments. Jeff here to tell you about all the wonderful benefits I've experienced while attending classes at Dahn-Jon Yoga Brea, CA.
First of all, I have been a member for 1 month 11 days. I go twice a day Monday - Friday and once on Saturday. I'm athletic and I have tons of energy. I eat right and I mountain bike 3-4 days a week of 15.5 miles of hills.
These classes allow me to focus more on certain sections of my body and relieve painful areas. Blockage or pain or "weakness" can be resolved thru Dahn-Jon yoga.
Thats a very true statement. I've been able to breath easier while cycling due to yoga. My joints in my knees and wrists, elbows, and shoulders have "opened-up" to allow me to heal those spots (over time).
A fantastic thing that has not been happening to me is I've had ZERO episodes of acid reflux (I had it really bad for sooo long) since Ive started Dahn-Jon yoga. I mean, it's a real miracle people. Its soooo amazing. I can lay down at nite and not have that horrible sensation of burning juices in my throat. I can't expalin it. I know its from this yoga class. I know it in my heart.
There's an exercise called "plate balance exercise" - it's a very smooth exercise of the mind and body. There so many benefits, such as stomach, liver and spleen function. Arm and wrist movements stimulate my joints to move more "fluidly" Like smooth as ice, with no pain. I'm able to bend at the knees me efficiently. When I crash on my bicycle- I can thank yoga for allowing me to crash correctly! I keep physically fit and yoga is just icing on the cake.
The person that has given me hope towards a better tomorrow, that is guiding me on this journey to the next dimensional world, that has given me inspiration to challenge my body, my mind, my nerve, my emotions and my energetic spirit.....is my great leader Master Shin.
Master Shin is the first step to finding inner peace within oneself (also lose weight or tension) Try a healing session with her and look deep within yourself. Is something missing? She can lead you in a positive direction to finding oneself or helping oneself to a better and healthier you!
Ever since I've joined Dahn-Jon yoga, I've had a bigger spring in my step! I feel so good in the mornings, ready for yoga and sweating out the toxins. Life has been a whole lot better since I've become a member here in Brea.

This center provides me with bright and joyful energy as soon as I enter. I become very energetic after one hour regular class.
