I just attended my first Tai Chi class with Master Kim. The hour long session was absolutely a lot of fun (Smile). It was a class of about 15 students and Master Kim did a great job of addressing any student techniques, including my own. The course was challenging, but totally suited to move within one’s own limits. I am very much looking forward to my next class and my future Tai Chi journey. I was diagnosed with a medical condition in which I have symptoms such as chronic headache, body aches, and chronic fatigue, amongst others. I cannot recommend this location highly enough! I have been attending the Tai Chi classes twice a week for about 3 months now and it has been such a delight every single time. Master Kim is a wonderful instructor and truly helps guide and encourage you to take better care of your body and mind. I have lived with moderate asthma for most of my life, and this was the first form of exercise I have ever done that has not triggered my asthma in any way– all the while still maintaining a healthy and rigorous workout. I always leave class feeling much more energized and happy than when I came. It has also been an excellent way for me to build strength in my core after a lengthy recovery from stomach and diaphragm surgery. I have seen massive improvements in my overall physical capabilities after even just a few weeks of practice. I am truly grateful for Master Kim's patience and expertise, and these classes are quickly becoming the highlight of my week every time I go. I have never been the most physically gifted person, but attending this class has helped me build a confidence in myself that I have not known before. Brain and Body’s programs are outstanding! Master Kim is very considerate of different students needs, always cheerful, engaging and energetic. I went in a bit reluctantly, knowing my recovery from shoulder surgery was incomplete despite physical therapy. I attend 3-4 times a week. Within months I fully regained range of motion and strength after rotator cuff surgery. I was surprised that my overall health also saw major improvements I was not anticipating: my blood pressure improved markedly, my overall flexibility and stamina improved, and after a year of pretty regular attendance I lost 12 pounds of weight with no other changes to my lifestyle or diet. For the first time in 30 years my cholesterol improved! After a year and a half of attendance I strongly recommend Brain and Body in Northwood, Irvine, not just for recovery, but as an essential tool to maintain health and a positive mental attitude. I have been attending Tai Chi class with Master Kim over 4 months. Master Kim is phenomenal and his expertise in Tai Chi is evident in every movement and explanation, making it easy for both beginners to follow along and improve their practice.

The class is well-structured, starting with a warm-up that prepares the body and mind for the session. Master Kim's ability to demonstrate and then break down complex movements into manageable steps is truly impressive.
Master Kim is very kind and funny and he is making the class so relaxing and enjoyable. He allows everyone progress at their own pace while maintaining proper form and his patience and encouraging demeanor create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.
Moreover, Master Kim integrates the philosophical and meditative aspects of Tai Chi, helping me connect more deeply with the practice. I have been coming to Body & Brain Yoga Taichi in Irvine for two months. I really like the classes they offer here. By following Master Kim to practice and understand the meaning of Tai Chi movements, it brings me positive energy, inner peace, and inspiration for life. Other classes such as Intestine Exercise class helps me learn how to strengthen my stomach and intestines for better digestion. Wooden Pillow exercise releases tension and pain through various pressure points off my body. Every class is designed uniquely to improve your physical, mental and energetic wellness. Master Kim is the best !!!

This place is so good that I wish I could volunteer here for my lifetime. I went there being lost with anxiety and severe panic attacks. With just one session with Master Kim I got a lot of clarity. One week of class and my severe panic attacks went down to zero.

Now the other side of it. Be reasonable, there is just one Master Kim. Master cannot give attention to everyone always, in short, master is super busy. To be respectful book appointments.

One old line that everyone needs to remember " if you know to do something, don't do it for free, else it will become worthless" - you have to pay for what Master Kim can offer. After all Master is also a human being, trying to keep the place running.

For the past 9 years that I joined this class, even before pandemics I went to this class every day. This practice has helped me in many ways by learning how to breath deeply, stretching to feel my blockages in my body, opening those blockages by free body movements to get to the free flow body movement. The best part is the meditation which is helping me to calmly breath and feel my soul. This practice is helping me to be more flexible by releasing and relaxing my stress and tensions. My joints feel much better because I can feel them by all the different exercises that Master kim teaching every day. Master kim class is a lot of fun and makes me smile. I discovered Body and Brain while searching Tai Chi classes. I did the first introduction meeting with Master Kim and as soon as I started to talk to him, I felt that my life would take a different direction beyond just Tai Chi and my gut feeling was right.

First, of course I gained a lot of heath benefits from the various classes. The classes improve so many different levels of your physical health and mental health. You are also never β€œbored” I would say because even with the same classes Master Kim always add there and there a new twist to an usual class.

I am actually realizing by writing this review that it’s the first time I stick with a system for so long. I tried so many other options and never succeed to stay committed any longer than one year. I don’t see myself stopping Body and Brain it would be like stopping to eat or breathe. It’s part of my daily life now and would be too miserable without out, my body and my brain will tell me β€œno no no” get back to what is good for YOU.

Also I wanted to make progress even faster so I am taking a private class with Master Kim every month and that has been also a game changer. If you do regular classes and love it, get a private with Master Kim, it’s so worth it. When we can be fully happy why postpone? or say I will do it later? if you feel you need Master Kim to make even more progress in your life at all levels then don’t think twice, just do it :)

You can β€œinvest” in yourself because YOU are important as much as the people you love.

I joined Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi in Irvine 2 months back and am so happy I took this decision in my life.
Having undergone, 2 Renal Transplants and few other major surgeries, my body has undergone a lot of trauma.
The 2 months here, I have already started to feel changes and have been able to communicate to my body & mind so beautifully well that I want to experience this more... I have already signed up for the whole of year 2022.
Master Kim is an amazing person so full of energy and spirits which he passes on to his students too. He is very knowledgeable & communicates & guides us in the simplest of terms which actually makes a great impact on us. There's so much laughter in the class that at the end of the class, you feel light and refreshed.

I joined Master Kim’s Tai Chi center in Irvine in January 2019 with severe lower back pain and disc issues. I was advised disc removal surgery within 3 months if effective pain management and core strengthening wasn’t achieved. Transitional techniques of physical therapy, chiropractic etc has not worked in my case. Pain had worsened and latest MRI had showed further degeneration

Tai Chi has worked wonders for me in last 12 months: my pain is negligible, core has significant strengthened and resultant positive energy has improved outlook, relationships and work success! I have not had a single pain medication in the last year

In addition the optional but highly recommended β€˜Finding True Self’ worship by Master Kim was truly life changing! In my opinion it is a must have for anyone even if you are not enrolled at the center for regular sessions!

I have never engaged in any activity that consciously creates or controls body energy, neither was I aware of such a thing. Some of the techniques, like tapping your body/intestine region were so alien to me that it felt wired at first. It’s been only 1month and I am totally sold on it. I like the stretches, yoga and similar exercises but I love the energy exercises the most- they help stop my thoughts & feels meditative. I recommend anyone to try it out for a month.

It is amazing what brain and body yoga does to the healing of your body. I am glad I found this place. Master Kim is truly a true healer in his field. As a physician, I am totally amazed how I felt after one session, there is no word to express the power of this healing method. This only proves even more that the body heals itself if we allow it to. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to feel better, sharper, more energy, more at peace, especially people with chronic illness such as chronic fatigue, depression, migraine, IBS, fibromyalgia etc...
As a Christian I was worry about certain religious association because of the word yoga. Actually this is open to any faith as it is not religious at all since it focus on energy but mostly body and mind healing using stretching and exercise that focus on acupressure point and meridian like acupuncture except you do it your self. I love it and would definitely recommend to all my patients.
Try it one time and find out yourself. The power of self healing should not be underestimated. Best thing, unlike medication there is no side effect.

Coming here does not only mean going to a Yoga class, but going on an adventure inside. Every class is different, exciting and teaches me something new about my body, mind or spirit.

Although exercises are all do-able and for everybody, they can be challenging or bring me to sweat. The nice thing about it is, I enjoy it so much it doesn't feel like exercise :)

I have been given a whole new outlook on life since I have started going to Body & Brain. My back pain was so severe that nothing was helping anymore and with nine injections under my belt and a multitude of therapies, I was fairly skeptical. I was in so much pain that I couldn't even push a vacuum anymore. A friend told me how Body & Brain helped her, so I figured I would give it a try. Incredibly, within a few months I was able to do more physically than I had been able to do in almost ten years! I could finally experience relief of pain, and my family and doctors have all been just as amazed as I in my new found physical and mental abilities.

I started Dahn Yoga 2 weeks ago and noticed the difference in my whole body and brain balance.

Due to my past tailbone injury, I tend to be nervous while driving and have a sense of imbalance. However the past 3 days it has changed. I am now able to drive on middle lane without swirling to the right or left. It's amazing that simple exercise and often times small movement with intention can create a powerful shift in my body and mind.

Today I came with stomach cramping and bloating due to monthly period. However, after the intestine exercise session the pain has lessen significantly.

Really recommend the whole brain and body exercise for anyone who is open to improve the whole outlook and powerful connection between body and mind.

I love this place!!! It is not your typical yoga class like at a gym. Since I have been taking dahn yoga here I feel more energized, focus and centered. It has been a great experiance and I am so glad I found this place. My life has improved a lot since I started. I would definitely recomend this place to anyone that wants to have a better life

Dahn yoga has helped me to heal my body and my mind. I come to the yoga center regularly because it not only makes my body flexible and relaxed, but it gives peace to my mind. Also,the classes helped me to relieve tension from my neck and shoulders. After each class, I feel I receive new energy into my body; my body feels more flexible and stress free. I've started this Dahnyoga more than 10 years ago.

After I do this class I felt much more energized and sleep deeply at night.
Master at center guided me how to breath better.

I've been doing Dahn Yoga now for three months. Before I started at the studio I had a lot of stomach issues, stress, anxiety and a lack of energy. I never enjoyed going to the gym and lacked the motivation to get out and improve my health. I am happy to say that since I've been doing Dahn Yoga, I've lost weight, toned my whole body, my mood is better, my relationships are better and I am more peaceful. I enjoy the classes and look forward to going. Everyday there is a different class so I never get bored and I always feels great afterwards. We do yoga, tai-chi, meditation, deep breathing, stretching and we even get to dance and give each other massages. I love the interaction we have with our classmates, that we are asked to always smile and at the end we get to share how class went over a cup of tea. If you are looking to improve your life I highly recommend joining our studio.

I started Dahn Yoga to relieve my chronic neck pain, but the benefit goes beyond physical benefit. Since I started Dahn Yoga 9 months ago, I have not had need to seek physical therapy or chiropractic treatment. In addition, I experienced β€œQi” or energy. Now, I am looking forward to Yoga class every day and after each class, I feel peaceful, refreshing, and rejuvenating.
