At 64, it is more important than ever to take control of my life and take care of "myself". My life has been stressful, and I found it was hard to even really relax. I knew, I needed to strengthen myself physically and to keep my mind clear. I had taken Body and Brain Yoga in Honolulu, and ten years ago I moved to San Diego. I struggles with illness after illness, stress and exhaustion. I moved to Oceanside a year ago, and I was so happy when I found the Body and Brain Yoga Center. I decided to get serious about attending again. And after 8 weeks I noticed I was getting stronger and able to do housework easier, lifting, bending squatting was getting easier, Now, four months later, My back is straight and strong, my shoulders aren't hunched over and my abdomen is pretty tight, I don't have a muffin- top.... My 41year daughter, my husband, and my 4 year old granddaughter are all attending now... Wow, I never thought, I would be feeling so healthy and strong and they want that too, thank God.

I am an instructor at Body and Brain Yoga (formerly Dahn Yoga)! I have experienced my own healing and witnessed others healing through consistent practice. I enjoy a moving meditation called Brain Wave Vibration which has released mental stress, busy thinking from ADHD to ADD and symptoms of anxiety, headaches including migraines, stomach problems, and allergies. I am no longer addicted to Ibuprofen, Claritin, and processed sugars. I started Dahn yoga (now called body and brain) about 9 months ago after trying out 6 different yoga places close to my house, (even though I drive an hour each day to get to my center but it's well worth it) I'm So glad i decided on Dahn yoga it's been absolutely the best gift I've ever gifted myself, all the masters at this center are amazing and outgoing with tons of energy, they really make you feel at home the first day you join in, classes are different daily and you never get tired of them, more you attend the better you feel about yourself. meditating, breathing, stretching, are just few of the exercises that we practice, before i joint the center I used to have constant pain in my neck, lower back, shoulder and all my joints, and trouble sleeping, I feel like a kid now with no pain and my sleeping has improved a lot. I feel healthier, happier with much better focus. Special thanks to all the masters @ Body & Brain for all your help.

I absolutely love these classes! I recommend this to anyone who wants to be more flexible, happier, healthier, less stressed, or just overall better. I came here because I was looking for a place where I could become calm and regain strength. I have suffered from back pain and also had my body rather depleted after a negative reaction from a commonly prescribed antibiotic. This place helped me regain power over my mind and body once again.
I've never had such personal growth at any other class I've been to. Perhaps a momentary glimpse at my own strength, but it seems my efforts here have been far more rewarding than other classes I've done in the past. They even offer a very low price introductory special. Just bring an open mind and try it out, you will not regret it.

It's been 5 months since I have started Dahn Yoga and with steady training more than 3 times a week - my body, mind and morale has improved considerably. I've been doing sports all my life but no physical activities has helped me to find my center as Dahn Yoga did. I feel much stronger in every part of my body, more tone, less pain, more energy, easier to concentrate, no desire to eat sugar-fast food as I used to, sleep better, calmer. But the secret are the Masters who are training you - I wouldn't feel like this without their support and love. They are so wise, grounded, they give simple but effective advice - they truly care - no judging - it's not about performing, it's about feeling good about your self - your inner self - your true self. There's much more I could say but I suggest you pay a visit and find out more yourself - you won't regret it.

Dahn Yoga saved my body, heart and soul. One would think that "yoga" is all about dressing in tightly fitted clothing and trying to make one's body bend into a multitude of pretzel like poses. Dahn Yoga is so, not that! Dahn Yoga is all about understanding our physical body's natural ability to heal itself through breathing, moving and awareness. Dahn Yoga is the easiest and most enjoyable martial art on the planet. Classes are engaging, non-competitive and rewarding. I came to Dahn Yoga one year ago to learn to breath, following a life crisis. I learned about energy centers in my body (Chakras) and how my stress and life experiences have blocked the natural flow of energy and oxygen to certain parts of my body. Dahn Yoga has dramatically improved my life and continues to benefit my health and well being. Through daily practice and a day long workshop my Type 2 Diabetes is now under control with normal blood sugar levels, increased energy, and a decreased appetite with weight loss. Dahn Yoga offers the majority of activities recommended for individuals with T2D--stretching, light aerobics, meditation, yoga, tai chi, and dance. The emphasis is on fun and doing what is comfortable and within the functional limitations of each participant. These components are combined to create variety and balance within group instruction. Classes are led by well trained and experienced instructors in the specific methods of Dahn Yoga.

My experience with Dahn Yoga has been positive. Dahn Masters and Headmasters are caring and encourage participants to improve their physical and mental well-being with individualized plans and support. Individual Healing Sessions have also improved my conditions. While at a medical appointment I re-injured my lower back. I endured four days of constant pain and was essentially immobile. I limped into an Energy Healing Session with the Headmaster and walked out pain free with my normal gait.

Dahn Yoga is certainly a place for everyone to at least try with an open mind. I didn't expect such radical improvements, and yet they occur. I expect them to continue and I know I will continue as a member of Dahn Yoga Oceanside.

I have been part of Dahn Yoga now for 2.5 years and it has been an amazing experience. I started Dahn Yoga because my massage therapist recommended I try yoga to help with overall pain and stiffness I felt in my body from previous surgeries. I was amazed at with just a few classes I started feeling much better and had much more energy. I lost 40lbs within my first 6 months of joining and within a year went from not being able to walk more than 30 minutes at a time to hiking up mountains and walking my dog whenever I wanted without pain. I have been a member at the Oceanside Dahn Yoga for four months now. The benefits of Dahn Yoga are continually growing. I used to have to go to a chiropractor regularly to have my back adjusted. I had lower back pain and my muscles would regularly spasm. Since I have been with Dahn Yoga I no longer need to see a chiropractor and my flexibility has improved greatly. Incorporating the principles of Dahn Yoga has helped me with my physical fitness, making my workouts better and recovery time has gone down. My cholesterol has also started to go down since I started. I was afraid I would have to be put on medication for high cholesterol, but thanks to Dahn Yoga I am on the road to recovery. If you are looking to improve your well being and make a positive change in your life, then Dahn Yoga is a wonderful start. I recommend taking classes regularly to improve your outlook on life.

I started Dahn Yoga 7 years ago. I had lots of pains from arthritis and was on medication. In a few months my aches went away and I was able to stop all medication, and I also stopped smoking. Hi my family and I have been doing Dahn Yoga for more almost 3 years now. We have had a huge improvement to our lives because of studying and practicing Dahn Yoga. The first major improvement we saw was with our son; he literally grew an inch in height, his back straightened up and he has more confidence, and actually glows with health. My wife said the same about me, but I think it is more noticeable in my son. My wife had borderline high blood pressure (it runs in the family) but after we started training in Dahn Yoga it disappeared within a few months and her blood pressure has been normal for over 3 years now. My wife and daughter also feel better because the exercises help open up their chest area so they feel more at peace. I also found peace and full nights sleep after many years of stress and pain. My energy level increased tremendously, and my flexibility and strength have both greatly improved. I am a retired Marine, I have many VA medical ratings for problems the worst of which is Asthma (developed during/after deployments to Kuwait/Iraq), shoulder problems (too many years of push-ups and pull-ups), and serious Sinus issues (exposure to many different climates). My shoulders have become pain free, flexible, and strong allowing me to actually able to do push-ups again. My asthma has been going away; I am down to taking medications on occasion (about once a week) instead of twice a day and I believe it will be gone completely soon. I have been able to cut one of my sinus medicines by half and have stopped taking the other two altogether. I have noticed that our family has improved in health, openness, and love. My children are brighter, more energetic, and fun-loving. We have received something that no amount of money could buy from Dahn Yoga. We attended Dahn Yoga Healing Course about six months ago and enjoyed another bump up in our health and energy so we decided we had to share our knowledge and energy with others. We started leading free lunch meditation and healing classes on Camp Pendleton at our respective work sites. Since we started I am up to about 20 participants and my wife is up to about 50 participants. The classes are open to anyone; civilian and military are coming to the classes. A few of the benefits they have reported are; happier, calmer, better sleep, more focused, lower blood pressure, higher energy, better balance insulin levels and overall better health but even more important they all say they are happier. We really love what Dahn Yoga has done for us and hope all can enjoy this great practice.

Hi, my name is Barbara. I have been a member of Dahn Yoga for about 7 years, starting in Henderson, NV and currently attending classes in Oceanside, CA. During those years it has always been an uplifting experience. Before going to Dahn Yoga, I was prone to depression and suffered with neuropathy in my legs. Dahn Yoga has added immensely to my vitality, flexibility and general health as well as spiritualality. I have made new friends and, especially the Masters and teachers. They are always very caring of each individual and their condition in class and always greet me warmly with a heartfelt smile. Thanks to the training I have received, I have learned to use my brain in a more useful, healthy and uplifting way and to be aware that I have the choice always how feel and think. and I am at peace I have been fortunate to attend many special classes and courses, some in beautiful and spiritual Sedona, AZ. I am proud of Dahn Yoga and to be an active member at the age of 74 and am currently studying to achieve Instructors level. And to think I only started because I only wanted to be more flexible and breathe better!. I LOVE this Dahn Yoga place! My sister got me involved with this center. She had been going for some months and then i started seeing results from her going and so I asked what she was doing. She mentioned this place and i thought maybe i should give it a try. I hadnt really done to much yoga/excercising in the past because it didnt interest me. So when i went into this place i was a little hesitant. but, from the minute i walked in I felt so comfortable. It was such an inviting and friendly atmosphere. The center manager was interested in my health and well being. She said just do what you can and your body will come around. And boy did it. I've been going here for a year and a half now and have lost over 36 lbs, just from doing this type of yoga. I am now more flexible and can connect my mind and body to become one and to cooperate together with each other. I work in retail and it's very stressful. But by coming to class on a regular basis, i have gotten rid of alot of stress and have become more peaceful and tolerable. Even, the people i work with have noticed a huge change in my attitude and my energy level and my lower stress level. even my blood pressure has come down as well. I owe alot to this place and the people here. They are all very encouraging.

I came to dahn yoga because i wanted to feel better, lifting my arms was very difficult
i had to use one arm to lift the other and couldn't blow dry my hair or comb it.,idecided to try something new.The first time i walked in the studio i liked the friendly caring athmosphere,my instructor after listening to my problem gave me special exercises to help w/ my situation.I came to the studio every day and exercised, in 2 month's my arms

A little over a year ago, I started taking classes at Dahn Yoga in Oceanside. Now, I had taken yoga classes at other places and they were good, but nothing else compares with Dahn Yoga. Before taking the classes, I was experiencing lower back pain almost all of the time, and was unable to focus due to too much stress. What was really different was the individual attention the instructors gave to us. We were taught not only stretching, but also breathing, meditation and Ki Gong. Within a few short weeks my back didn't hurt anymore, and the best thing was how quiet my mind had become. Thank you Dahn Yoga for making a difference in my health.
