Took a photo of their money back guarantee. Was told by the rep they would honor it as I was unsure of my living situation. Wanted a month and bro just kept making me sign up for this scam.

As you can see there are no requirements to this money back guarantee on the photo of the slide show they presented to me.

They sent me the contract stating that it said there was a clause and there is NOTHING nullifying my 30 day guarantee presented in the slide deck.

They are truly scammers and will be out of business soon

This gym is awesome. I’m brand new to the area and have decided to make this gym my home gym after trying out several other gyms distributed throughout Bakersfield. The iron classic weights really gives it a throwback gym type of atmosphere and the front desk staff is awesome always answering any questions that I may have. A big shout out to Myrah, Paul, and Christian for always making me feel like family. The only reason I can’t give this facility a 5 star is due to the music. DO NOT FORGET YOUR HEADPHONES!!!! Josh conveniently "forgot" that he was signing me up for a 15-month contract and answered my question whether I could cancel at any time in the affirmative. Also, he conveniently again "forgot" the price he quoted me and also that he wasn't charging me for the first month. All this he forgot. I told him I would be leaving in Bakersfield only a few months. Now, what to do? Also conveniently forgot to say there is a 100 dollar cancelation fee. NEVER SIGN on one of these tablets. It's not for your convenience, but for theirs only. SCAMMERS. ALWAYS demand to see it printed on paper and read it before signing. I have learned my lesson.

Update: They said they would be contacting me to resolve this. That was weeks ago.
No one has contacted me and they are still trying to collect fees.
I tried contacting them a few times, but was told that these are not the right numbers to call. Then I was told that there isn't a number. You simply cannot call them. You have to contact them through email. They said that it's because they want a record of the communication.
It would be much more pleasant if I could talk to someone on the phone. I'm busy and it takes time to write up all this in an email....
Again, no one is getting back to me. Not yet.
21.Feb.24 update
Still no one has reached out to me. Still the payment gateway is trying charge me and still I'm getting robó calls and texts that I need to pay. The one time I was able to reach a human the woman acted surprised that they even said they would get right back to me here on the maps app.
It really almost seems as if they post these responses to a negative review just in order to curate their online presence. It would be such a relief if someone would make a tiny bit of effort to get in touch.

This Body Xchange was much better organized than others that I had been to in other areas of Bakersfield. I felt like the TVs were spaced well. I liked how I had a little time with the sled myself before it got busy. Body Xchange has a tendency of getting busy and equipment can be limited sometimes but I liked doing a morning workout at this facility for a brief person of reduced busy-ness

They advertise a 7 day guest pass on their website but when you go in to claim it you find out they don't do any guest passes at all. Thats fine if thats their policy just don't mislead or misinform people from your website. Im sure no one likes to waste their time and gas. When I asked they receptionist if they were going to take it down, all I got in response was “I just work here”. Update your website. Will find another gym that respects peoples time and provides good customer service.

Been a member for over 5 years but never really needed anything. Staff are typically arrogant but that’s not unusual for the people they hire. Today I went in to sign up my 16 year old daughter so she could start coming with me.
They refused to allow me to show her around because of “liability”. Now they already scanned me in and so I asked if I could get a guest pass for her and sign a waiver for “liability”. They said no, they don’t do guest passes anymore, plus I needed to show them her birth certificate (???) I asked why, your policy says kids 12 and over are allowed and you agree she is over 12. I was told to prove she’s my daughter. (Now, she can get an abortion, a Covid shot, or a number of other procedures without parental permission or “proof of lineage” but to sign up here, she needs it.) So we went to InShape and became members. And got free guest passes for the day.
Here is the kicker, they won’t let me cancel the account because we have to give 15 days notice, I said OK, here is 15 days. “Your bill is due on the 23rd, that’s not 15 days.” My reply, so cancel for the 23rd of next month!
“Nope, you have to come in and cancel on the 24th because 15 days isn’t … ???
And that my friends is why they work at a gym. (No offense to competent gym employees).

The gym itself is cool but the whole process online is horrible. I’ve tried canceling many times and there’s always something on why I can’t cancel. They charge fees to even cancel and have to give a 15 day notice which is very long literally half a month. In shape you can cancel at anytime no problem. Can’t even describe how terrible this place is. I was in town for 2 weeks and asked for a 1 month membership. They told me it would be fine and promised it would be canceled. I emailed to remind them to cancel it. They continued to charge me for months, then charged late fees when I didn’t pay, and now are refusing to waive them. Do not come here!!

This is a lie under here. They say I only paid for the time I used the facilities but they charged me $45 for the month then over $100 in late fees since they “couldn’t charge my card” (they had my credit card, I don’t know what the issue is). Then they claimed that I couldn’t cancel my membership because of the unpaid charges and continued to charge me a monthly fee!! It’s a scam. They are liars and scammers.

Unfair charges! Been a member for several years here. Every January they charge you an annual fee. I cancelled my membership at the end of December. I still am getting charged an annual fee! I called in and asked is the annual fee for the up coming year, they told me yes. I spoke with a manger who told me I had to cancel 15 days prior to the charge otherwise I still have to pay it. I can understand a 15 day policy for membership fees so people can workout all month then cancel a day before they are charged. Not for the annual fee though! Why should I pay an annual fee when I won’t be a member there for the upcoming year??? The manger refused to refund the charge. Poor way to do business.

It's ok small and basic gym. First thing I noticed about this gym compared to in Shape is the staff friendliness. The gym staff here at body xchange are kind of just there dont really acknowledge their members like in shape as soon as you walk in your greeted by just about every staff member walking around, there was a couple times the trainers even came to me and gave me some quick pointers on how to improve the ways I'd do my weight liftings. Here at BX none of that. I've been going here for about 2 years now and the only time I've been approached by a trainer is when they do their promotions and try to get me to refer people by asking for their contact info. And that's about twice a year. But aside from that a simple clean gym.

Original Review: It's an ok gym. I say ok because the machines are falling apart. Machines break down and don't get fix right away like other gyms that I have been to. I honestly like the one on Panama because I can work out with out any problems or any one looking at me all crazy.

I cancel my membership and this people are going to charge me a whole month ahead even though I cancel and turned in my key card. I can't longer stand this gym. Go some places Else, Inshape didn't give me a hard time all. Should have never left Inshape, but you get what you pay for.

Like alot of other reviewers, the gym has it's pluses and minuses. Pluses: close, relatively inexpensive, not alot of sales hype, almost empty Friday to Sunday. Minuses: disinterested staff. Some users dominate equipment and don't understand the concept of sharing. Have gotten the stink eye from 'users' sitting on equipment catching up on social media for extended periods.

The place can use some simple housekeeping and customer service help. It doesn't take much to wipe down the front glass doors to keep them clean or have the front desk girls greet you with a smile. I go only for the evening classes however the few times I went just to work out I seem to have disrupted "break time". The gal at the front desk actually had to get off the stool she was sitting on and help with a billing question. The Times I've been there for classes my car was broken into
I reported it to the front desk to see if a random "walk around" the parking was too much to ask but apparently it was. I was told many cars had been broken into prior and that there was nothing they could do about it. I guess sitting on a stool looking bored is more important than keepimg an eye out or wiping down a glass door. I'm looking for a gum with more sense.

I wanted a walk through to see if it was what I wanted even though I got a low deal for signing up the manager pretty much didn't listen to what I wanted I never got a tour I felt it was more about him meeting his quota I made it clear I needed child care and only wanted month to month I was in a hurry and the manager kept telling me it would only be one more minute I ended up missing my appointment rushing out and later realized I did not get either and I had to go back to pick up my CADL they kept it accidentally but when I went in to ask questions about my contract they acted as if they make no mistakes I remind them keeping my CADL was a clear mistake he agreed but never had management call me as he said they would since then I realize clearly I miss in shape !

Thank God I'm month to month!! I've been going to this gym since the end of May due to relocation. I absolutely hate it! There's equipment that has been broken since I started attending this gym that has still not been fixed. I went in there 2 days ago and about 12- 15 machines are broken!! Mind you, this is a small very crowed gym at all times of the day! So to have that many machines broken... it's absurd!! All the equipment has this nasty sweat film on it! None of the machines adjust in ways for shorter people so I end up hurting my knees on some of the leg machines. They do adjust in the seat but that's about it. The workers... haha workers yeah if that what you want to call them. They are siting at their's desk on their phone. They don't seem like you can go to them and ask for help they stay in their little bubble. Very unhappy. Will be going back to my home gym as soon as I can.

My experience with this place is horrible. i went to apply for membership and signed an open contract, the day I signed the contract I discovered my credit card information was stolen and I couldn't pay the startup fee. That same day due to the circumstances I canceled the contract at the front desk. I told them to cancel, I was never given a contact termination notice form. Around a month later I see a startup fee authorized from my bank from body xchange, I go back to the location and talk to the manager and he doesn't seem to care one bit, he took my info and still hasn't called me back. I am a member and the gym is always full. The staff is more worried about what's on their phones then with the client. There six tread mills that have been broken for at least two months now. I pay 30.00 a month and an annual 37.00 fee for equipment repair. And it seems like every time I come in there's something else broken. The reason I pay the 30.00 is because I can go to all of locations. I drive 12 miles to a small gym where I'm greeted Evey time I walk through the door. I gave the two stars because I like the small gym on Allen and stockdale.
