BODYBAR Pilates offers a modern take on Reformer Pilates in Folsom, CA, in an environment that builds supportive communities and empowers our members. We believe that everyone possesses an inner athlete—a source of strength, resilience, and determination that can be tapped into through the practice of Pilates. Our 40- to 50-minute Pilates classes are inclusive to any fitness level, and class sizes are limited to 14 people to provide quality training and guidance. I have never done Pilates before so I was intimidated but everyone in the studio is so nice and are helping me learn. There are a variety of classes for different skill levels and they offer advice to adjust the movements to make it easier or harder depending on your individual needs. The studio is clean and the boutique in the front is super cute. I’m happy I joined.

Folsom’s Body Bar Pilates studio is truly outstanding! The instructors are not only professional but also genuinely care about helping us succeed. I really appreciate how clean and well-kept the studio always is—it creates such a welcoming environment.

What sets this studio apart is how the instructors take the time to ensure we’re doing each exercise the right way, pushing us to our best ability while keeping us safe from injury. A special shout-out goes to Isabella—her instruction is absolutely wonderful! She’s professional, fun, and motivating, always encouraging us to go further while making sure our form is correct.

That said, all of the instructors deserve recognition—Christina, Nikki, Stephanie, and Selyna are each fantastic in their own way, and I truly enjoy every class with them. I’m also looking forward to having Ysel back soon, she too is fabulous!

This studio has created such a positive, supportive environment, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

I have always hated exercise, in any form, until a friend of mine convinced me to try Pilates, specifically at this location! She told me “the instructors are super helpful, non judgmental, the music is great, the classes go by fast, and you can take it at your own pace!” Could not agree more! I am completely hooked! So much so that I drive a full 30 minutes to get here for every class I can make it to! Totally worth it! Love all the instructors & staff members! Could not give it a higher recommendation!

Isabella's Reformer classes are thoughtfully designed for a challenging and intense workout with quick transitions. She clearly describes each exercise, adds a bit of intensity, and I appreciate that she announces the countdown with about 20 and 5 seconds remaining. Out of all of the pilates locations I’ve tried - BODYBAR is by far the most accommodating on late/ reschedules (especially when you have a newborn lol), all of the trainers are extremely sweet and motivating. I really like Stephanie's classes! She always shows and explains the exercises in great detail, carefully corrects if the exercise is done incorrectly, and pays attention to breathing. As someone new to reformer Pilates, I would highly recommend BodyBar Parkway. I’ve had experience with Pilates mat classes in the past so I’m familiar with the forms and movements but was excited about the opportunity to try out a reformer class after not having consistent exercise classes in the past few years. I was nervous about being too out of shape to keep up, but since my first class in July, I have felt very welcomed, motivated and encouraged by each of the instructors I’ve had. I’ve mostly taken the Classic classes to get familiar with the machines and routines but have tried a few Reformer classes when it was better for my schedule. Each type of class offers modifications and support by the instructors. I always leave feeling energized and after a few months of going consistently, I see that I’m now able to do movements I wasn’t able to do before and push myself further. It’s a great studio and I’m grateful it is in our neighborhood.

This is my first time doing Pilates and I’ve had really good consistent experiences with the instructors I’ve tried. I usually see Bella or Nicki and sometimes Kristina and Stephanie. Bella is enthusiastic and positive, and really great at correcting with form to make sure you’re doing the exercises correctly to get the most out of your work out. Nicki is really mindful and conscious, for example when I was on the reformer and I accidentally kicked a pole that was rolling away, she was already ahead of me to grab it to make sure it didn’t get into anyone’s station. There were other instances like that where she showed she was making sure everyone was taken care of. That made a good impact on me, especially since I can get self conscious during work outs of being clumsy. I haven’t had many classes with Stephanie but she was open to answering any questions you had before and during classes when I first started out with reformer. When I told her it was my first time doing reformer (I was already a month in doing classics) she was on top of making sure I understood the different forms and transitions which set me for success in future reformer classes. Lastly I like how Kristina pushes you in her class to do your best, and she’s also consistent with correcting form as well. All the staff here (including front desk) make you feel really comfortable and that you belong here, which I appreciate. It’s not easy to start fitness classes when you’re not at a point you want to be with your body, or if you have zero experiences prior. I strongly advise to not be afraid to ask questions and inform your instructors if you have any weak points so they can assist you, all of which they have done for me. I sometimes blank out and am directionally challenged — meaning I mix up left and right, and I’m a visual person so verbal instructions aren’t always clear for me.

As far as results go, a month into being consistent with classes (about 3x a week) I started to see that my body was becoming more tone. I was also starting to have better balance in little things I do throughout the day, and more flexibility. When I took a week off classes in my second month, my body started to stiffen and my back ached more due to lack of physical activity (I was going back to school on top of work). That was when I knew I had to keep up with classes again. The prices are indeed expensive but my argument is you only have one body and it’s one of the best investments you can do for yourself. Overall, if you’re looking into becoming more flexible, toned, and want a low impact work out with a welcoming environment, I would definitely recommend trying out the studio to give your body what you deserve.

I used to go to another Pilates studio in town before I got pregnant. I have been going to Bodybar Pilates in Parkway for more than a month now.I joined using their founding members discount and I am sooo glad I did. I can already feel the difference in my postpartum body. I feel so much more energetic and strong. The trainers and their workouts are amazing.
