I love taking Isabella’s Sunday 6pm Yin yoga class. She always offers a theme to stay mindful about, and her soundbath during savasana helps me drop back into a peaceful place at the end of a long week.

Breathing Room is a real oasis-- Aviva the owner and her collaborators have created a beautiful space, filled with light, and beauty that provide a wonderful environment for unwinding, going inward, stretching oneself. All the classes I have gone to over the past years have thoughtful, highly trained teachers, attuned to different techniques, and different people's needs.

My favorite yoga studio in Alameda! I have tried several different classes and truly enjoyed every single of them. The instructors all did a very good job explaining the poses and will help you adjust yours if needed. The studio is also very spacious which I really appreciate. I could focus on my breathing and flow throughout the entire class instead of getting distracted by stuffiness in the room as in some other studios. Their pricing is also very decent. Recommend for anyone looking for a yoga studio in Alameda/Oakland area!

I LOVE the breathing room. I wish Aviva would just let me move in and live there. The instructors are phenomenal and the energy of the space is magical. I thought yoga wasn't for me but I am so in love with yoga now. I've learned so much and my body is feeling good and I can move in ways I haven't been able to in years. I'm more kind to myself and I take time to take time out to be present with me to ensure my needs are met due to the instructions received during classes. The breathing room has a way of attracting the right people to the space for anyone to feel safe, supported and seen.
Aviva doesn't know this but the breathing room saved my life. I'm grateful! Thank you! I have spent time here not only doing yoga and other types of classes, but I have supported people I don't know through hard times. I have received support from people I don't know while going through a rough time. I have hugged, laughed and cried with people that I've never met. I have encouraged and been encouraged in this space. The breathing room feels like home for me. If you feel like you need some of the experiences I've had, the breathing room is where to get it. You'll probably see me there with the biggest smile of excitement.

I really love this yoga studio in Alameda! The space is super cute and clean, and the classes are really affordable compared to others I've visited around the Bay Area.

I always leave class feeling both relaxed and accomplished with my practice. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a local yoga studio!

Breathing Room is a gem! The instructors are very knowledgeable and make everyone feel welcome, whether you’re new to yoga or experienced. The atmosphere is calming, and I’ve noticed improvements in both my physical and mental well-being since joining. It’s more than just a yoga studio—it’s a wonderful community. Highly recommend!

Best Yoga Studio by far! I sort of abandoned years of practice when everything shut down in 2020. And then I “heard” the voice calling me back. Found this studio and have been going pretty much every other day for the last two+ months.

I have not tried all the styles or all the classes yet - not enough free time. My favorite sessions are Monday night, Wednesday night, Saturday early morning, and Sunday night. And, of course, Friday nights’ special workshops.

The studio has all the props you may ever need. Bring your own mat, and enjoy workouts and sound baths!

The Breathing Room is a beautiful respite from the world. The teaching staff is very diverse and the space feels very inclusive in terms of race, gender identity and class. Everyday people getting together in a community spot to move and breathe. This place is a real gem!

Breathing Room is literally a breath of fresh air. The space is warm, inviting, full of plants - it’s just beautiful. The teachers are authentic and unique and I can truly feel that they enjoy what they do. I have been practicing for many years, but I struggle with injuries and chronic pain. I feel safe showing up no matter how I feel, because there are plenty of props provided and modifications offered. I also feel comfortable inviting friends of all levels, and everyone I’ve brought has loved it. Lastly, it is women owned, inclusive, and truly supports the community and other local businesses- what’s not to love?!?

Breathing Room is such a unique healing space. I have tried many Bay Area yoga studios, but Breathing Room is the only place I've had community experiences that feel spiritually fulfilling and energetically uplifting. It's the real deal!

I have followed Aviva Levine from 7th Heaven Yoga in 2011, to Barbados 2017, 2018, and Breathing Room 2023! The in-depth knowledge of the practitioners and classes she offers address my somatic and cerebral needs. I am set at ease when I walk into of her beautifully inspired classes. I highly recommend the Breathing Room to anyone needing an inviting space to be themselves and move with intention!

I’ve been practicing yoga consistently for the past two years but I’m usually skeptical about yoga studios as they tend to approach yoga as exercise instead of as a full mind/body/spirit practice. Breathing Room has quickly become a favorite of mine - they offer a full range of classes and experiences in a safe and welcoming environment. I feel like yoga’s roots are honored and respected here.

I'm a Breathing Room devotee! Aviva is my absolute favorite teacher of all time and when she became the owner she poured her warm, open, soul-nourishing spirit into this place. The lighting, the plants and decor, the chill vibes and music, all create a welcoming space. Aviva is a gifted teacher, giving detailed instruction and micro adjustments that convey deep expertise and compassion. The changes she has made to the physical space, class offerings, and her website are clearly focused on inclusion, offering a range of experiences so everyone can get exactly what they need to feel better in their body!

Love this beautiful, spacious, and affordable yoga studio! I’ve tried a few different classes and have enjoyed all of the teachers and styles. All the instructors have been conscientious of beginner students and those with injuries or limitations, helpfully giving alternatives to poses that suit any level. Also love how much space there is here, so many other yoga studios are just so packed!
