Clean gym with a lot of various workout equipment, classes and free weights. It has a heated pool and spa, tennis courts, and an indoor wall ball court. Employees are friendly enough and there never seems to be any issues with weirdos or feeling uncomfortable. Highly recommend. The only negative I would say is the hours. I wish they would stay open until 11 PM during the week.

I started coming here over a few months ago and at first it was manageable. But over the past 2 months it has been actual hell. Classes every single day at most convenient times when people are coming out of work or school. It’s the only room that has enough space and is comfortable enough to stretch and to abs in. The equipment is so close together and not to mention how over crowded it is every single day. The staff needs to stop taking memberships atp because over the past few weeks I have had to skip multiple of my exercises due to it being so packed. I’m so tired of the amount of people it’s so unsanitary and crowed to the point where I don’t even want to workout. It’s so packed downstairs due to the upstairs equipment being so outdated and old.

I used to go to this gym a few years ago and have been going again for this past year and half. The staff is friendly, facilities have been remodeled recently and look nice, it’s always clean, and they offer decent price packages.

They offer great weekly classes too — the mat pilates with Brenda is my favorite! Definitely worth checking out!

Love the facility and the staff. Giving 3 stars because of inaccurate cancelation notice information. It's not a 30-day notice, it's based on when you're billed and when you submit cancelation. We placed a 30-day notice in on the 15th of the month, but because they bill on the 5th of every month, we had to pay our membership from the 15th through the following month.. so 50ish days. We were told when we submitted the 30-day notice that our next charge would be prorated for 1/2 the month and unfortunately that wasn't honored when I called to speak with them about the charge we received. Real bummer on lack of communication for this one.

Your gym needs a complete overhaul, your equipments are constantly broken, you don't need that many tennis courts, you have to make up your mind on to who are you trying to serve, is it elder population, dance group, school people or what not because with new gym coming in soon I don't think you'll be in business very long so please take your long time costumer feedback seriously. The second floor weight room equipments have been having out-of-order signs weekly, and why are we not just replacing them now? Some of your equipments have been there since the mid-2000s, and that is a safety issue, so please invest in your gym a little bit. Painting the walls now and then won't do it anymore.

The DIRTIEST gym in Turlock. Please don’t get a gym membership here. The bathrooms are gross. The equipment is dirty. The floors stink. I don’t know how people keep coming here? If you’re new in Turlock, please get a membership elsewhere. DO NOT GO HERE. the people at the front desk are always on their phone and headphones you can’t ask questions and they are rude! Put the phone down and get to cleaning please! This gym is too small and there’s mo personal space.

I was there for about 1 1/2 years and staff is ok , but the showers are always on maintenance hot tub is most of the time out of service!. Looker room smell like wet dog. But the membership fee went up a lot. This is the Turlock location. Sorry but I had to say something. Very unhappy with this gym. .

They tossed out all Senior Citizens and the handicapped out the door and canceled our memberships. They will no longer except Medicare sponsored excersize programs .

I absolutely love it here! This is the first time as a gym member in 60 years. I went in recovering from poor health and surgery.
I decided to go with the trainer so I could learn how to do things properly so I would not hurt myself.
My trainer is Mary. She is excellent!
I could not possibly be more pleased with the benefits. In a short time, not only has my health improved but the pain that I suffer every day is so much better that I don't have to take a pain pill every single day or night just to sleep.
The facility is clean.
The members are very good at wiping down the equipment when they're finished using it.

I have only been going here briefly and the staff has been very unprofessional. I went to cancel my membership and the staff was rude and I was hit with the annual membership fee the month I cancel. I should have went to in-shape. If you’re reading this save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. Gym equipment was broken half the time and weights scattered making it a scavenger hunt just to workout. Just go somewhere else, you’ll thank me.

Would not recommend a long term commitment to the Turlock gym. The men's sauna is broken every other week and they take forever to fix it. It gets broken one day and then the next day it will work and the day after, it will be broken again. The staff do nothing to fix it. They have taken longer than 2 weeks to fix it in the past. How hard is it to get someone to take a look at it and diagnose the problem that keeps happening for the sauna to break. They sometimes blame it on the wait time to get a certain part to get delivered. Well why not order multiple parts that they might need to have in stock when it breaks in the future. Or just get a whole new sauna unit itself. With the amount that people pay for rates (which keep going up), I know they can afford it. The sauna has been broken for a week now again and they still haven't fixed it. Some primarily choose this gym because of the sauna but if it is never working then what is the point.

Also, the staff here are very rude. A friend of mine was once told by one of the male staff wearing a hat "I'm going to have to kick you out" while he was in the sauna. It was about 4 minutes from closing time and he had every intention of getting out before closing time came. They don't have any rules which state you have to get out of the sauna a certain amount of time before the gym closes. When he was out of the sauna and changing in the bathroom, the worker kept standing there staring and waiting for him and asked if he was ready yet, when it was about 2 minutes to closing time. The worker should not be pressuring when it was not even closing time. Theres not rule that says you have to be out of the bathroom a certain time before closing.

Rather try out InShape in ceres since it is the closest other gym that has a sauna and was also recently revamped.

Been here for 13 years. Over time, quality has gotten worse while membership rates go up. Sauna and hot tub are always broken, daycare for children has gone away, the satellite gym on Monte Vista is gone, carpet in the locker room (disgusting), and staff are not attendant to problems. They seem annoyed if you have any questions. Everything has gotten worse while paying more. The clientele has significantly changed. More of the types who hog cables for 40 minutes in groups of 8. There are less classes included.

But basically BAC, if you're reading this, fix your sauna and include more amenities or I'm just going to go to a cheaper gym.

Terrible service, always smells and it does not have good ventilation system. I stopped going but kept the membership for certain occasions I wanted to use the tennis courts. I’ve had to discontinue my membership due to the following:
• Upper management did not allow my family and I to workout as a group independently. We were told no more that 3 can workout together.
• When we tried to come up with a solution they came up with reasons that we were a liability and taking away from the livelihood of the trainers. This did not make sense because it did not state anywhere in their contract that we had to take the classes or that we could not workout in group.
• Limited or out of date gym equipment ( only Trainers have access to the best ones)
• limited parking

If the gym is open on a holiday (memorial day) then the daycare should be too. No signs posted anywhere about the daycare being closed. Came in with my child, walked by multiple employees, got all the way to the daycare to find it locked. Not a single employee mentioned anything to me when they clearly saw me come in with my child. No sign posted on the front door of the gym or at the front desk to notify people of the daycares closure. Apparently you can only go to this gym on a holiday if you don't have kids.

Old, small, hot in here...not the cleanest of places. Machines are outdated. Acessories for machines are old, broken, loose or have rubber handles missing or torn. Machine placement is too close to each other. Mirrors are cracked and go unfixed for months. Missing mirrors in some places, making it seem ghetto. Has a non co-ed sauna, which means if you are with your significant other, you'll be separated. No water fountains in the weight room. Water fountains up by front desk, and the one on the bottom floor is not cold. Parking is small, if you have a big truck it'll be tricky to park here at times. Not a fan of this gym. Only reason for our membership is thar their daycare hours match what we need, thats it.

I used to be a lifeguard at this location about 7 or 8 years ago. I also work out there. I really enjoy this gym. It’s fun to walk around, they have so many different places to work out. Its almost like a maze upstairs. lol. If you’re someone who is new to working out, there are so many places you can go to kind of hide out and work out. I’m very knowledgeable at working out, I work out often but sometimes when life gets busy and I get out of shape and/or I want to be alone working out... decompress from being a working stay at home mom. I love hiding out upstairs to work out sometimes lol. The locker rooms are always really clean, they have a jacuzzi outside. Probably the biggest jacuzzi I’ve ever seen. I always tell people it’s almost as big as their pool lol. I have been a member on and off at Brenda since I was a child. It’s my go to home gym, I love it there. I usually work out at the Modesto location because they have a 25 meter pool, and I’m a swimmer. I live closer to Turlock so on days I don’t want to drive a couple towns over I do cardio and weights here. They recently updated a majority of their machines, and updated their entry way. I’ve been to a lot of gyms, and worked at many. Brenda is by far my favorite gym! Parking is limited... just means you get to burn more calories if you park on the street :)

I've been a member for a while. The facility is great (spa, sauna, tennis courts, weight room, Olympic weights, cardio room, yoga, bicycles, pool, etc.).
For some reason, management doesn't do great on keeping up with maintenance and there is always some (little, but some) equipment that needs to be fixed. This is the only reason for 4 stars, not 5.
The roof leaks when it rains, and they just keep on kicking the can...they made us walk through the rain in the parking lot to lift weights instead of using the hallway...because the hallway carpet was saturated with water... little strange for paying members to deal with when the facility charges a yearly “maintenance fee”. That’s a small issue, but one that I wouldn’t expect from a health club in Turlock.

Great place for working out though. Family atmosphere with daycare services while you work out. Sauna, spa, heated pool... this place truly is worth every dime.
