British Swim School offers swimming lessons for kids and adults of all ages, starting as early as 3 months. Located inside of City Sports Club, our swim school is open year-round, so you can learn to swim when you’re ready and continue until you’ve mastered the skills. We use gentle teaching methods and a survival-first approach to help swimmers of all levels become safer and more confident in the water. Our safe, fun, and effective teaching methods have made us the preferred choice for parents and students for over 40 years. Our confidence-building curriculum and small group swimming classes provide a consistent format and structure with one-on-one attention for each swimmer. Private swimming lessons are subject to availability.

I can’t express how grateful I am to the Vallejo staff. My son tried three other swim programs with no success, and while he struggled at first and cried the first few weeks, your patience made all the difference. Thanks to your support, he eventually came around. He’s now a Turtle 1, and it hasn’t even been a year! Every staff member we’ve encountered has been amazing. Thank you for everything.

This place is a scam. Lessons are canceled without notice and no makeup sessions are available. Unless you're in the water with your child, they'll sit on the wall for the majority of a 30-minute class. Family swim is available at a lot of nearby pools for a tiny fraction of the cost of these 'lessons'. Save your money and go somewhere else.

My son has been with British Swim School for a couple of years now and he has definitely made great strides! He was not only scared of being in the water but he was also scared being with unfamiliar people. We’ve had different instructors through the years and every single one of them have been so great with my son! They are well trained, fun, knowledgeable and most important, super patient! I would 10/10 recommend Cheronda and her team at British Swim School to all kids interested in lessons!

Great instructors and program! My toddler and school age daughters have flourished under this locations leadership and program. My toddler in less than six months went from tadpole to swimboree to now seahorse. My older daughter started as a starfish moved up to minnow and will be a turtle 1 soon in the same 6 month time frame. Neither could swim before coming beyond playing in the water and we had poor experiences with local parks and rec so we are so thrilled they love to come every week. The makeup tokens are a game changer so you don’t have to worry when you’re sick or out of town you’ll always get your moneys worth

Nothing but positive experience here! Facility is great and staff is awesome!!! The app is easy to use and the manager Cheronda is very nice and accommodating! My child is learning a lot and has moved up in skills since we’ve started thanks to our favorite teacher Sara. We love her and hope she never leaves the academy! My sisters love going to swim lessons! They have really great and enthusiastic teachers! Everyone on the staff is so nice and welcoming! The teachers have helped my sisters get over their fear of jumping in the water and it’s great to see how far they have grown in the class! Definitely recommend taking your kids here!!

Our 10 y.o. has had swimming lessons off and on all her life and nothing quite stuck with her in terms of swimming skills or confidence in the pool, so when we heard about this place—we were hoping for a change and it is an awesome change/place! Most of the swim instructors/staff are enthusiastic, patient and passionate about what they do. The size of the classes work well also (about 3 kids per group to 1-2 instructor ratio).
Only concern I have is the pricing of $160 for 30 mins a week, which is a bit steep but we’re going to stick with it as much as we can!

Knowledgeable and caring instructors helped ease my fear of drowning when I was a child and replaced that memory with being confident in my ability to float. Family Friendly for all ages!! Four of my seven children also joined with me! One of my daughters joined her school’s swim team and competed in 13’ water within three months! Water safety was my number one concern. Now, we can enjoy and take full advantage of the pools while on vacation and not just wet our calves sitting around the edge!! Best decision ever! Thank you, Cheronda! You and your Amazing Staff have forever changed our lives 🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊!

We have had a very positive experience since beginning at British Swim School. Our daughter had some reluctance to getting in the water during her first class. Miss Alex was amazing with her! She went at our daughter’s pace and made sure she was comfortable once in the water. It took a few sessions, but Miss Alex and the other instructors remained patient and engaging. Our daughter now looks forward to her weekly swim lesson and enjoys her time in the water! The staff has been great and I appreciate the smaller class sizes. I will definitely recommend BSS to friends and family!

My daughter has been going to British Swim School since January and she loves it! The instructors are very competent, patient, encouraging, and enthusiastic. My daughter has some fear and anxiety related to being in the water and the instructors have been patiently working with her. My daughter has made significant progress and their approach is working for her! I can't thank British Swim School staff enough for making every swim experience enjoyable for my daughter!

My 7 year old daughter takes her weekly swim lessons at British Swim School, and so far, I have been very satisfied with our experience there. They are patient, caring, encouraging, compassionate, and are willing to meet where your child is at. Highly recommended!
