My daughter has been attending Golden Bears Youth Gymnastics for the past 7 years. She started recreationally, and has since transitioned to the competitive team. The coaches and program itself have been amazing throughout. It has been wonderful to see how my daughter has grown both as a gymnast, and mentally. She has made many great friends in the program, as well as outside. I highly recommend this program.

My daughter loves gymnastics and loves golden bears gymnastics program. She started when she was 4 the golden bears gymnastics recreational program, excellent program and facility. The coaches made the classes fun and engaging.
She joined Xcel competitive team last year, now she is advancing through their levels. She really enjoys all the new friends she has made and she appreciates the coaching and support from the staff. The coaches are skilled and experienced, great program for kids, professional and fun environment.
My daughter is building amazing gymnastics skills and self confident. Go Bears

For the past six years, we have had a tremendous experience at Golden Bears Youth Gymnastics, from recreational classes to regional competitions. My daughter began recreational classes at age 3. They were super-fun and age-appropriate, and she looked forward to every class. The coaches made gymnastics classes fun and engaging.
As my daughter grew, it became clear that she was a talented gymnast, and she has moved up through the Golden Bears classes and levels, until she joined their Xcel competitive team at age 8.
At each stage of her development, the coaches were on-point, with the appropriate level of guidance and mentoring, always keeping it fun and positive. One of the great things about Golden Bears is it's size -- so many classes to select, which means so many other kids to meet and befriend.
Golden Bears also has one of the strongest Xcel competitive teams in Northern California, and now my daughter is advancing through their levels. She really enjoys all the new friends she has made on the competitive team, and she appreciates the coaching and support from the staff. The coaches are so skilled and experienced; they understand how to challenge kids but also how to maintain a supportive, fun environment. My daughter is building self-confidence -- and amazing gymnastics skills.

My daughter simply loves the coaches and the programs here. Having been part of the Golden Bears Youth Gymnastics program for a couple of years now, her love for gymnastics continues to grow. She's super excited to share what she is able to accomplish and how encouraging her friends and coaches are. It's great for her self confidence and motivates her to keep training. She's now in the competitive team program and couldn't be happier to learn new choreography, perfect the core routines/ exercises the moment she gets home! And it helps too when the administrators are super helpful, flexible and efficient. Kudos!

My daughter has been going to golden bear gymnastics for over 3 years, including Rec and competitive. It has been a great experience all around but especially during covid. The dedicated coaches spend a tremendous amount of time and energy to teach the kids gymnastics skills and to make healthy choices. Communications are thorough and prompt, especially during Covid when life was unpredictable and changing so often . Itβs a great community. The only challenge is traffic and parking, which is eased by carpooling and by coach assisted drive by drop-off. My daughter has especially enjoyed summer camp, as it was a great way to bond with her team. Cal Gymnastics has helped to build self confidence, physical coordination and team spirit. Looking forward to the upcoming competitive season.

Cal gymnastics has been lifesaver for my daughter and I am sure many other children as well. My child has been attending Cal Gym for over 8 years. From basic beginner to competitive levels she has learned and grown so much from her time here. The coaches are kind, compassionate, and will not push the gymnasts in an unhealthy fashion. During Covid times they have been extremely cautious and continue to be. If you have a little tumbler, it's a great place to start learning gymnastics. If you have a seasoned teen, it's a healthy but competitive program as well.

I have two kids in the XCEL program at Golden Bear gymnastics and first enrolled one of my kids at Cal almost 9 years ago. It is a great program with kind, dedicated and motivational coaches. I highly recommend it!

My daughter has been going to golden bear gymnastics for over 3 years, including Rec and competitive. Iβve got nothing but high praises for these dedicated coaches who spend time and energy into making it a positive experience. Communications are thorough and prompt, a great bonus for busy parents. Itβs a great community. The only practical challenge is traffic and parking, which is eased by carpooling. My daughter has enjoyed many of the events such as the summer camp and occasional evening training/social nights. Itβs helped to build self confidence, organization skills and team spirit. As a Cal alum, itβs great to be supporting Golden Bear!

Both of my girls have loved Cal Bear gymnastics. Both have done recreational and competitive gymnastics and enjoyed all of it. The coaches are great and the program is flexible. As a parent, it's so nice to be able to start and stop certain classes and do makeups when you live busy lives. The main reason both of our girls have had six packs since they were 6 years old is because of taking gymnastics at Cal Bears.

Just to be clear: this is a review of Golden Bear Gymnastics, a recreational and competitive program for kids 18mo-18y. There are a lot of things going on in this building that I am not reviewing, including: a pool, a snack bar, and the listed Cal Gymnastics Club (a program for 17+).
My daughter has been going to Golden Bear for a few years now and has really enjoyed it. The coaches have been great. Sometimes they switch around a bit in the recreational classes, but we've been to other gyms in the area and it's no more than we experienced at those gyms. I really appreciated how supportive and encouraging her coaches have been -- they seem to "get" her and are able to help her grow and gain a lot of confidence (and, of course, some pretty awesome gymnastics skills!).
As others have explained, there are recreational classes (ie. classes you sign up for on a monthly basis) and there are competitive teams. My daughter took classes here on and off for several years before really committing to gymnastics and trying out for the team. Now she's on the XCEL team (the less intense competitive track), which is a great fit for her and our family (great coaches, plenty of time in the gym, but time to be a kid, too).

They actually have an assembly line of little gymnast in orderly fashion, with orderly water breaks, and a stern, yet still fun way of handling children with very short attention spans, and high volumes of energy. But they break the down in to manageable groups according to age, and each instructor gets there chance with each group. I commend them for the dugout style seating accommodations for the parents, but it's kind of stuffy, and a lil funky under there, but the hallway was perfect for kicking back and writing this review. Pretty decent setup for a Saturday activity for your child, and lots of parents to mingle with if you're interested in making new friends.

Our kids have been attending a variety of Golden Bear Gymnastics classes for just over a year. At every level and with every coach they have had fun. We give GB a big thumbs up for their emphasis on focus, paying attention, and hard work. Best pluses of this gym are the snack bar, adjacent track, and wifi access.
Review from C., 5 year old boy: "We learn different moves every day and they get funner and funner. My coach is really nice. " C gave this review after attending GB classes for just over a year.

We bring our son here for their parents' night out events, where you can drop your child off for a few hours for $35, IIRC. It's a great place to be - tons of gymnastics equipment, padding everywhere (for kids who tend to run into things) and cool staff. Parking/drop off/pick up is a nightmare during those times, though, but you get smart after a visit or two.

Great place for some laps. Never seems to get too crowded. In the hills surrounded by trees. (5 dollars to swim)
