The weekend hours are so limited. I went there on a Saturday at 1:30 and the guy had already locked the door, insisting they close at 2 even though it said on the sign and everywhere else they close at 3!

Running a gym during and after the COVID pandemic is no doubt difficult, but I was disappointed that the Clark Street location was permanently closed. The smaller gym on Walnut has only one Olympic weight set, which is always in use after work. The space is really too small for all the equipment salvaged from the bigger gym. Trade offs inevitably lead to less space and equipment for my workouts and my fitness level has declined significantly in the last few years since COVID. On a more positive note, while the Olympic weights are always occupied, the gym as a whole is lightly used/never full. Health Sport is actually worse than Calcourts when comparing the number of people to the number of workout stations. Planet Fitness has no free weights. Eureka needs a full size gym. Calcourts should also have a website for people that don’t have Facebook.

I would like to start out by saying that I used to love this gym. Back when they had both locations, I chose to go to them and pay the high membership price because they had a pool, sauna and an extensive equipment selection. I understand that COVID effected many businesses and forced them to shut down the Broadway location. However, I find it ridiculous that they continued to charge the same membership fee for a smaller facility with less then half the benefits of the main location. Furthermore, they did not notify anyone that they would resume charges or that the original location would be closed permanently. I didn't find out until my bank account was over drafted and I received a bill in the mail informing me that I owed them money. To top it off, when I called to cancel my membership back in April, I was told that I just had to fill out a form and email it back, and that I would not be charged anything else. Well, I did that, and yet I just got a collection letter in the mail stating that I owe them for unpaid bills between May and August. I did not receive a notice about the unpaid bills, nor a notice that I was being sent to collections. They felt it was appropriate it effect my credit with no warning for services I had already cancelled. I find this all to be very poor business practice and I have no intention of referring anyone to them again.

I called to tell them nobody told me we had to sign a paper to cancel our memberships and I was under the impression that after a year it would automatically cancel, and Stephanie , was rude and said I bet they did tell you and when I was trying to get my point across she just hung up on me. Nobody told me and she continued to be rude

Really like CalCourts, but the equipment needs upgrading, at the old location, or should I say original location. I do enjoy the sauna and jaquzzi, but would love to see upgrades at the original location. The Annex has no spa, pool, hand ball courts, etcetera.

I've been going to calcourts off and on since I was a child, so, about 15 years. They've always been helpful and supportive, have a great variety of classes, and I've never felt discriminated against for any reason. The desk people always remember you, even after I return to school down south for months, and have a great weight room for the size. Nice to be able to go to a clean and reliable gym when I come home.

Good location, well maintained equipment, friendly and helpful staff. I prefer this location because it's rarely crowded.
