My 2.5-year-old just started the Tutus & Bowtie class about a month ago and absolutely loves it! Sonya and Tatum are incredible with the kids - they have such a natural way of helping even the shyest little ones come out of their shell.

I love how they keep the class moving, switching activities every couple of songs to keep everyone engaged. If Sonya senses the kids aren’t connecting with a game, she’ll seamlessly pivot to something else - it’s so clear she knows exactly how to read the room.

This class has given my son a real sense of independence. I love that he’s in a classroom setting without me, learning to take direction and follow along with others. Sonya and her team do an amazing job creating a fun, positive, and structured environment.

We both look forward to this class every single week! Highly recommend to any parent looking for a wonderful first dance experience for their little one. 💛

California Dance Company has been apart of our family since my daughter was 5 years old. They have seen us through some very difficult times and always been there for us. Love California Dance Company. I have tried three ballet companies in Redding for my 8 year old (since she was 2 1/2 years old) and this is my favorite. They have a great balance of making the classes fun and engaging coupled with the more technical discipline when necessary to prepare for a performance.

MOVED!!!! if you haven’t been to them in a while they are now on the corner of Lincoln and Market in Redding. There is no sign on their old location to direct you to the new location. However, their website does have the most updated information. My daughter has loved all of her classes here. My only suggestion for improvement is better communication. We’ve done a few long-term classes and a few camps and would always appreciate receiving an email with information on what to wear and bring or expect before starting any of those (it would be an opportunity for them to remind you they’ve moved). When she gets to the class, the instructors are always spectacular and anytime I do call to request the information someone helpful and friendly picks up the phone.

We have been dancing at California Dance Company since our little Maggie was two years old . Our experience has been phenomenal!! The teachers are the best Maggie’s personality and confidence is through the roof since attending here . She’s grown so much through the years to be that little and have that confidence is magical and I feel like putting her in California Dance Company made that happen for her . Best dance studio in town. Great with all ages and levels. My daughter started at 3 years old and she has progressed so much in the past 2 years. The teachers are great and know how to work with children in a way that they enjoy the process. They have lots of class options that make it suitable for any level and any schedule. My daughter started at the Anderson studio when she was only 4, she is now almost 8, and they have opened the Redding studio. Both studios are amazing with wide range of classes offered. My daughter has taken Jazz and hip hop, which are her favorite classes! We have also added private lessons to help her gain more experience. All the teachers are wonderful, encouraging and engaged with their students! I have receive post cards written to my daughter with encouraging words. Letting her know how hard she has been working and how much she is improving. I appreciate how caring the teachers are with their students and how they love seeing them succeed. My daughter has gain so many new friends and memories that will last a lifetime.

We love California Dance Studio. I have three daughters that have attended the Redding studio for going on 3 years. All the teachers they have had wonderfully balance a program that not only teaches and challenges my daughters in dance, but also highlights the importance of teamwork. My daughters have attended jazz, tap, ballet and hip hop and attended numerous summer and weekend camps. My girls always have a wonderful time and have grown so much in the time they have been there.

I have a son and a daughter that have both been dancing at CDC since 2013. They absolutely love it and consider CDC their second family. The teachers and staff are amazing! My children are also on the IP Intensive Dance Team. The training they receive allows them to travel all over California and out of state to compete at regional and national levels. I would highly recommend CDC both Redding and Anderson locations!

My daughter started dancing at California Dance Company when she was 3 (in 2009). When we started going there, we were excited to see our daughter was being taught the technique that helped her to become the dancer she is, but what really has made us stay, and never consider moving is that CDC coaches care about my child. They teach the kids discipline and the value of hard work. They teach the kids not just how to be better dancers, but better people in general. They teach team work, determination, and to encourage others. They offer not just the typical dance classes you see at most studios, but also offer aerial silks, and tumbling. We found CDC for our daughter in 2009, and it has been her second home since.

I was a bit hesitant to write a review because I did not think I could accurately depict how amazing CDC truly is. My daughter started the tiny tots’ classes last winter, which is the best decision ever! The dance instructors are amazing with the kids, they have so much fun. They do so much more than just dance. My daughter is learning to work as a team, listen to directions (which is a bonus for a free-spirited 2yr old), balance, and more importantly how to be comfortable with herself among others. My daughter loves and idolizes Sonya and Marie, and I am sure if she could she would live at CDC.
