Our friendly environment is ideal for accomplishing health & wellness goals, as well as expanding your social circle and filling up your calendar. We provide state-of-the-art fitness equipment to help you stay in shape, as well as group exercise classes and social events, including weekend drop-in tennis. For years CVAC has been known as "The Local's Resort", but we like to think of it as a family.

I would say this is a great place for a family with kids who can really take advantage of the pool. The gym is really nice as well. If you're thinking of joining for the pickleball, I wouldn't advise it. You have to get the full membership which is expensive, and they clearly don't promote pickleball much and even look down on pickleball players. I was told that they are "not a pickleball club but a wellness club". And don't confuse Refuge with CVAC. They are attached but separate businesses.

Played USTA sectionals here. Courts are great but at the beginning of the day the host club spokesperson gave us a "you can't list of things" while we were there. We felt humiliated like we were invading there private priviliged space. We were all recreational players on teams that worked hard to get to this point and all we got was an old dilapidated bathroom and no changing rooms. Very degrading experience.

My husband and I went to The Refuge at Carmel Valley Athletic Club. We both had it massages and then we sat in the jacuzzi in the Oasis area. There are cool plunging pools and Hot Jacuzzis with waterfalls cascading. It's so serene and relaxing. We will absolutely be back

Things here have changed and not for the better. Maybe I will rewrite my post some time. At this point I just not a happy customer.
Ok, now things have not gotten better actually we decided to leave this place for better places to work out and enjoy.
First of all the original manager and staff new I was extremely allergic and a asthmatic that they can not have a wood fireplace going where the smoke is going in the gym or to the tennis courts. Then they got a new manager and he told them to lite the fire place. The smoke blew into the gym and I ended up in the ER with a full blown asthma attack. A couple days in the hospital to boot.
Now since I canceled my membership they got the wood burning stove going again so I have heard from some of my friends who were thinking of joining but they also got a lung full of smoke and are not happy.
Yes I do have a attitude towards them also want to get compensated for the time I spent in the hospital and the months of recovery I had to deal with for being and asthmatic.
So you want to join this place when they don't care about your health than good luck to you.

CVAC is nestled beautifully among the trees in the Carmel Valley. The scenery is pristine and the club facilities match that, so I was surprised yesterday, after watching my boyfriendβs tennis match, I went upstairs to have a small bite to eat and commune with the players, the captain of the CVAC team told me the food was for the team and I told him I was cheering on the match and he retorted with, βthat doesnβt countβ. I told him I was with the other team and he decided to quiz me by asking the name of the team. I told him and he walked off with no further words and I proceeded to grab a small spoonful of slaw.
There is a better way to make people feel welcome at your club ... just saying. Tennis is a great sport that involves a great community of people and was sad to see Carmel Valley Athletic Club is not part of that community.

They have a wonderful Spa they're called Refuge which has a wonderful beautiful amp atmosphere fire pits have two Samus one wet one dry the wet one is eucalyptus they have several different types of pool they have cool cold warm and hot after your saunas they also have massages here and they're very helpful in answering any questions that you might have having lunch at the Quail Lodge is a wonderful wonderful experience it's beautiful a Windows looking out on the golf course and the waiters and waitresses are wonderful
