Some studios just feel like home and this is one of them! A wonderful small business with deep roots in San Diego (23 years and counting!). The studio offers a wide variety of classes led by experienced, dedicated teachers. It’s helped me hone in on my practice, and I always leave feeling inspired and grounded. I can’t recommend it enough!

I've been practicing at this studio for over 3 years. The teachers are all amazing. This is the only yoga studio that I have attended that actually feels AUTHENTIC. They are community based and you can definitely feel it from the moment they welcome you in!

This studio has a lovely energy and community, but the instruction and schedule are inconsistent. Only a few teachers, like Saira (who demos and truly teaches), really stand out, while others simply guide the flow without offering demonstrations or clear learning. On weekends — when the studio could grow — classes are often led by substitutes who are inexperienced and inconsistent, or an instructor who doesnt demo. The schedule is also limited: T/Th only at 6 pm and M/W at 5 pm, with no consistent evening options across the week. Most studios offer steady schedules and teachers who demo poses weekly; this place would benefit greatly from that consistency. It has so much potential, but needs more committed instructors and a stronger schedule to match its great atmosphere.

The 1st Yoga Studio in Chula Vista open for over 20 years. Great place to practice yoga. Very Supportive staff and teachers.

I went to this studio a many years ago and loved it. I moved back to San Diego last year and wanted to go back to this studio. I signed up for the introductory class but didn't end up staying in the Chula Vista area. I don't mind paying for a month at a decent studio and not getting a chance to use it. But this turned into them billing me for a YEAR. I tried to cancel a few times and the canceling process is not straightforward by design. When I finally canceled my the reoccurring payment, I was emailed documents from Living Wellness with my electronic signature was forged. It was a six month old document saying I agreed to payments at a studio I wasn’t attending. I don't know who is more to blame, the studio or the POS company. But it is very bad business. I ended up paying $1200 for one yoga class. Hopefully this prevents others from getting taken advantage of. I would be really excited to someday get contacted for a class action lawsuit! 🤞

Update August 1st, 2024: I haven’t gone to this yoga studio since 2021. I have complained loudly and publicly about their business practices since then. And today I get an email from them asking for me to renew my credit card on file. Which means they have been saving my credit card information all this time. Unbelievable.

Of all the yoga studios I have visited recently, and over the years, Chula Vista Yoga Center is the place where I walk away feeling like I learned more. Susie is the absolute best yoga teacher I've worked with. Her presence as a leader is something I look forward to learning from time and time again. This yoga studio is traditional and a gem.

Lovely yoga studio! This place has great instructors and friendly staff also very beginner friendly. It's so nice that they provide showers and have a decent locker room because although the yoga/workout room isn't heated it does get really hot (especially in the summer), yesterday it was 88"! Nice to be able to clean off after a hard workout.
