Never thought I’d have to choose a gym based on their bag policy, but here we are. I have way too much stuff to be carrying my things around without a bag. If it was a tripping issue then maybe I could understand. However, they allow backpacks. Make it make sense. My duffel is actually the size of a backpack. They have day use lockers, but then I’d still have to go back and forth to get things. The equipment could use some updating, but gets the job done. If you don’t need a gym that’s bag friendly then this is your place.

If you ever wanted to know what it feels like to be trapped in a gym membership purgatory, let me introduce you to Chuze Fitness.

I signed up back in 2021 at the Cypress, CA location, then moved. I stopped going, my card even declined at one point, and I thought that was the end. Nope. Chuze kept charging me — month after month, year after year — like a subscription to regret.

When I finally tried to cancel, I was handed off to Andrew Urbanski, who seems to be the gatekeeper of eternal billing. Andrew refused to escalate me to a manager, dismissed clear California law on automatic renewals, and even called my demand letter “blackmail” (spoiler: citing consumer law isn’t blackmail, it’s just… the law).

They’ve charged me hundreds of dollars over the years, including annual fees that by law require a heads-up (never got one). Each time I asked to cancel, it was made nearly impossible: hoops, balances, “just pay one more fee,” and zero accountability. Imagine trying to break up with someone who just laughs and keeps taking money out of your wallet — that’s Chuze.

I’ve now filed complaints with the BBB, FTC, and California Attorney General. At this point, I’d honestly have had an easier time canceling a gym in another country.

⚠️ Advice to anyone thinking of joining: Read the fine print, screenshot everything, and know that once you sign up, Chuze Fitness makes “cancel” a four-letter word.

Absolutely blown away by this gym. I usually go to the Cypress location, but I’ve also been to Garden Grove and Anaheim—and the value you get for access to amenities and recovery is unreal. The features are top-tier. CHUZE really feels like the best kept secret in fitness—nobody else comes close. The only thing even in the same realm is Club Studio in Long Beach, but that place runs you $229 plus another $79 for recovery… and even then, they’re still missing key amenities like tanning and a kids club. If you’re serious about fitness and love the extras like I do, CHUZE is hands-down the best option. Nothing else in our area even compares.

I live walking distance so I recommend it for a quick, cheap and easy workout (compared to say 24 HR Fitness which is bigger but dirtier and always having issues) to complement your fitness regimen. Like another reviewer said they have too much staff huddled at the front doing nothing but are extremely nice & friendly. My recommendation - move into a bigger facility like the old Ralphs off Ball & Valley View and make this similar to the spot in Anaheim :)

Very nice, clean and practical . I never have to wait to use the machines, very private sauna, massage rooms, and showers. The employees , over all make the difference: they all call me by my name and are friendly and helpful. I love it. After having going to 24 Hr fitness, Chuze is definitely a better place by far!!!

Chuze has been my favorite gym! It's always clean and the environment is so welcoming. I’ve been going here for a few months now, it’s a nice gym, not normally super busy when I go, normally around 7-8:30am so I can normally use every machine I want to for that workout, the place is always clean, the gym goers are nice, the employees are nice, I have heard them saying bye to multiple people by name. I've been going here for 10+ years and I love it and all the progress and updates that have been made over time. I do miss it being open 24hrs.

Chuze Cypress Friday hours online are posted to close at 9pm but the staff rushes everyone to be gone before 8pm. Please either update the hours online or get better evening staffing...

More clients have come in and it's getting dirtier than ever. Some chuze gyms are even missing weights now. I really love it here, but don't let it get to be worse than the other gyms!

Wow, it's been a while but they remodeled the place and added extra free weight stations. Everything is placed in a logical setting. After the Westminster Chuze closed down unfortunately, I wanted to check out Cypress. As usual the gym is very clean, nice staff and the amenities are top notch. Working with about the same square footage as the a Westminster gym here they have managed to squeeze.in small saunas. But......therein lies the problem, the gym feels crowded together, cardio machines are much closer to weights and everything is very squished together . For some this won't be an issue for me it's more of an issue for a Saturday this location was crowded and now with the Westminster location closure this small gym is more crowded.but the gym itself is very nice.

People are great the gym is beyond clean. Equipment is spaced out or on Quarantine to limit how close you are to others. The hydro massage is rock star! Loved it! Will use the tanning bed the next time I go in (tomorrow). Very up to date. Darrah helped me and was really great. She did easily talk me into getting the premier package and even though I came in just to sign up...I stuck around for a 10 min hydro massage!! Lol

I used to go to a Chuze Fitness in Colorado, funny enough. And maybe the Colorado locations are newer, but this one seemed a little grungier... The treadmills are rather dated in my opinion. They do not say what your pace is or what % grade you are running, or how many feet of gain or loss. The nice thing about this one is that it has 2 turf areas, though it would be nice if they both had the yard markings on the ground. This place is pretty crowded consistently. I was a little disappointed in the lack of kettlebell options. The highest they go is 45lb and I believe the 30lb and 35lb kettlebells don't have a pair. Also, this gym doesn't have a sauna or swimming pool if that's something you were looking for. Would love it more if they had more HIIT tools and toys. Good parking, which is always nice. All in all, it's alright.

I've been a member of this gym on and off since it opened at the cypress location. Mostly I love this gym but the flaws that kept me from going back were due to private health information being taken from me in order to cancel my membership. I was asked to provide blood work showing I had an autoimmune disease and they had to Google it right in front of me at the cypress location in order to confirm my genetic blood marker was in fact an autoimmune disease. And they had to scan it in to keep my lab work on file. Anyways..... When I felt much better to finally return to the gym I didn't because I feared it would happen again. SHOUT OUT TO ALFREDO for making me feel comfortable and confident that this will not happen again and shouldn't have happened in the first place. ALFREDO is the reason I am finally back at the gym pursuing my health journey again. Also SHOUT OUT to the MANAGER ALYSSA! When I had a problem with my membership not working she was able to explain to me the issue and immediately take care of it with such ease. She was incredibly kind and informative. THANK YOU ALFREDO AND ALYSSA for showing such kindness towards my unique situation and thank you for your patience to hear me voice my concerns from the past.

This location has the most friendly stuff of all I been to by far with natural light and well ventilated. Bathroom and locker room was clean. I've been a member of this Gym for quite some time and I've been using Garden Grove Gym because it's close to my home and there is a lot of classes that I love to attend. First time I'm using the Cypress location, and I'm surprised by what I saw and what they have it's a little bit fancier for what I've expected to. I tried the foot/leg compressor oh boy! It's so good feeling after work out and the infrared sauna so fabulous and the locker rooms are squeaky cean. It is well worth to drive even miles away from where I live.

I am in a Awwww with this gym!! As soon as you walk in they you feel the warmth of the staffs great vibes 🤩 So helpful top notch member support. A staff that is very couth 🤩its a great feeling! As soon as you walk in they start greeting you… And as they help other members, cleaning they never forget to say goodbye to the people that are leaving. The machines are state of the art crispy as can be. They have this large silver cylinder and you pull out disinfecting wipes so that you can clean your machines everyone is on it.
