This gym is smaller than most and waiting to use machines and stations is common. One problem I see are that many stations are closed for repairs and many more are missing parts like knobs,pins, hooks/carabiners etc.It's apparent that the preventive maintenance, daily inspection of equipment and prioritizing safety is lacking. Needs improvement.

The staff that work here always greet me when I enter and leave which is very welcoming and this isn’t my main home Chuze gym. This location is closer to me which is convenient.

Very spacious and lots of parking and has everything I need. Also, has many convenient keypad lockers for free use, if you ever forget your padlock to store your items.

Reasonable monthly fees gets you classes, reliable equipment, massage tables and personal infrared sauna.
I like the National City location because, even though it doesn't have as many bells and whistles as the main Chula Vista location, everybody is really nice there and it feels like a family gym. But, if you get the membership that I did which was the second tier, you can go to any of the locations you want. Do it!

I’m going to keep leaving reviews until management listens. I’ve complained to the front desk as well. The gym is good but have flaws, like only one smith machine. We don’t need 7 different squat racks, especially when the 2 by the free weights are hardly ever taken. Having 1 smith is criminal. SEVERAL times i have ended up having to scrap my work out or omitted exercises because people think it’s okay to stay on the machine for over 45 minutes !!! And then despite having set down my things next to it to let it be known I’m waiting the person will tell me that their partner or friend is going next like what!! Absolutely not okay. If they want to just have one machine there needs to be 20 min time limits imposed and no saving for someone else. They have a huge space next to the smith to add a second one.

Too many people sit on their phones on the workout equipment. And I’m talking.. 5 minutes on their phones before doing a set. Then back to the phone. They don’t have a lot of equipment so it’s a hit or miss if you can get a ok work out in.

I’ve been coming to this gym for about a year now and the ladies restroom reeks like pee every single day. I’m not sure if the restrooms just aren’t cleaned or someone is peeing on the floors everyday. Overall it’s super unpleasant to have to deal with that odor on a daily basis. Staff is friendly and equipment is good.

I love Chuze Fitness—it's my perfect gym! I just wish not so many people knew how great Chuze is because it can get really busy around 5 or 6 PM. I've been with Chuze for about seven years and remain loyal. I don't even consider other gyms! Chuze truly hits the sweet spot: plenty of amenities, convenient locations, top-notch machines, and an unbeatable price. Other gyms charge double the price for half the amenities—seriously! I've recommended Chuze to several people and even got three friends to join me, and they're all happy with it.

I remember leaving my pricey water bottle in the sauna and not going back for a few months and then still having it when I ask just to see if they had it! They had it, it was a red bottle with an f on it and they didn't throw it out! Very disappointed with my experience after over a year and a half of attendance here. Unfortunately, the gym culture here isn't exactly about being respectful of members as the employees will tell you when you first join.

There is an elder man who always brings black coffee and wears crocs and makes it a point to hug as many girls as he can when he gets there. He usually gets to the gym when it opens. This man literally shouted in my face at 4am when he held the door open for everyone because my "nod" as a thank you didn't suffice to him. And when I asked him why he wanted to be like that with me at 4am, he said "don't piss me off" like what the hell?
Upon telling the AGM, about the aggression made towards me, and was doubled down upon, I was told to avoid him. I was harassed, but I was the one being reprimanded. The shy AGM then said he would talk to him, AFTER his workout. I was expected to go back out there with this rude aggressive man who was getting in my face and making threats. It's a shame they don't know how to recognize and stop bullies. They did waive my 10 dollar fee to switch locations, but frankly if they didn't I'd only bring their performance up to corporate anyways.

Stay clear. Join TheGym or their chula vista location.

The fitness facility provides satisfactory services overall. However, I have observed a peculiar situation where the men's locker room is visible from the exercise area. Additionally, the saunas are occasionally not on even though its been eight hours after the gym had opened, resulting in a waiting period for them to warm up. The staff claims that this process takes approximately five minutes, but in reality, it can take up to fifteen minutes. I feel its an easy fix, but somehow they keep dropping the ball
No to mention they keep "forgetting" to start the timer when their friends who are inside the sauna. It has been several instances when this has happen. Same worker same same people inside the sauna.

I’ve been going to Chuze since 2011. I’ve had no major issues. It does have high peak hours, weekdays from 3pm to 7pm but other than that it’s a great place to workout.

Actually really like this gym but only having 1 smith machine and 1 leg press is insanity. I always have to wait 20+ minutes. Sometimes 45+ min plus and then i just have to scrap it from my workout at that point. 2 people will come and just dominate the machine it’s ridiculous. Wish Chuze would enforce time limits or just add more of the machines. Take out a squat rack to make room. I’ve been to many different gyms, la fitness, 24hr and they always have at lease 2 smiths and 2 leg presses because they are some of the most used equipment.

Chuze is a legit gym. I like the variety of machines and equipment. Free weights went up to 120 lbs. The gym and men's restroom was nine times out of ten clean. My only complaint would be the no gym bags allowed while your workout. Yeah you offer lockers but I'm not trying to walk to the locker room whenever I need something from my bag. Nor am I willing to gamble theft from locker rooms that do occur

This place keeps going downhill with machines being down for long periods of time. They have no concern for other people's privacy. There is always someone recording and when asked about recording to staff they indicate is ok as long as the people recording are being considerate. I'm always here at this location, its my favorite in San Diego(even though I live 15 mins away and the closest one to my house is 8 mins away). The staff at national city chuze fitness are very friendly and helpful. Max helped me lots when I first started my membership there, helping me navigate using the amenities and what not. The staff greets me with smiles when I enter the gym. The yoga instructor on Wednesdays is the best. She stresses that you go at your own pace which is great for beginners like myself.

I have been a member of Chuze Fitness for a few years now and I couldn't be happier with my experience. The gym has every machine I need, from multiple squat racks to free weights, kettle bells and treadmills. I was impressed by the variety of equipment available to accommodate all my workout needs. The staff is extremely friendly and always willing to help with any questions or concerns. This is not specific to this location but the customer service of this company as a whole. Worst customer service. They only want your money and won’t refund even when they don’t alert you of charges but want a ten day notice to honor a cancellation. They wouldn’t honor my refund request of two charges in the same month when I told them I no longer wished to be a customer. And on top of that, they make you go in person to cancel, you can’t cancel on their app, their website doesn’t say anything about going online to cancel through an account, and when you email them they don’t even do it for you unless you ask multiple times. Their customer service reps were robots and only used a script and didn’t resolve any issues. Don’t get a Chuze membership. They don’t care about their customers and only want your money.

My first impression as I walked in was "guarded." This being my first visit, I wasn't sure of the floorpan. As I eased further into the center, a sense of ease immediately came over me. The enter is "well-laid" out. I had no problem navigating my way around.

Area is a little sketchy, parking is sometimes a hassle, though close to my home. Would say it's better than the Mission Valley location because of its size, but even during peak hours that means nothing considering how packed it gets anyways.

Bathrooms are waaaaaay too small. Like I mean really small, including the showers. I feel like only 10 guys total could be in the bathroom without having to bump into each other.

Worth checking out despite all of this if you're looking for a gym membership for the new year.

Everyone at this location is awesome, I love the staff they’re amazing! The staff is always going around cleaning equipment and taking photos if something looks like it needs to be fixed, not to mention they have someone there who I see fixing equipment efficiently. This location is great! My experience with Chuze overall has been great also!
