Loved the class and the instructor teaching the class! Horrible experience when I first entered the facility. I signed up for the free first class because I’m in LA often, the owner refused to let me take the first class AND refused to let me do the 7 days unlimited special all because I gave an out of state address. What’s even worse was I didn’t have my wallet and he insisted that either memorize my card number to pay for the class or leave. I really enjoyed the class, but because of this experience will not be back when I’m in LA and will make sure my family and friends in LA don’t try it either.

The HIIT classes in the morning are the best way to start my day! Nic the trainer is very helpful with assisting anyone get the right posture/movement, and he keeps it a good vibe. I love the quick variety of workouts and the fact that you can monitor your heart rate, making YOU your sole focus during the workouts.

I’ve tried f45, orange theory, private gyms and I keep coming back to circuit works. There’s nothing like it. They have everything from saunas, yoga, kickboxing, HIIT. Rafael is very dedicated to his business. He place close attention to everyone there and where they are on their journey. Whether it’s loosing weight or gaining muscle. The HIIT classes are great. It’s a good mix of cardio and strength training and the instructors and supportive and welcoming. The spaces are very nice, light and airy, and the equipment seems well maintained. It’s kind of a mix of F45 (in terms of environment) and Barry’s Boot Camp (in terms of mix of cardio and strength.)

Love this place. Everything you want (and more) with nothing extra. A breath of fresh air from big chains. The circuit training is the best I have tried as far as maxing out effort without injury (you use wristbands to stay in the goal HR zone for the whole session — which includes weights, stations, and treadmill). They also have reformer Pilates, and hot + yin yoga, as well as sauna/plunge and kickboxing/open gym. All the staff is great — shoutout to Jamil and Sydney for helping me train without injury. Also love the total variety in age/gender/build of the ppl who train here — probably bc the workouts are really well suited to all levels. Everyone is super friendly and it is not …culty lol. I love the progress and consistency I’m able to achieve here, and 45min goes farther than in other gyms. Very thoughtfully designed place and workouts! They also have a free run club open to non members. A gem.

Voted Best Gym 2025 in Santa Monica and it truly is!!!! HIIT is supersonic fun!! Raphael and the whole team are absolutely and utterly incredible from HIIT & private training to Yoga & Pilates. More importantly, the community is so awesome, positive and inspiring, there is just nothing like it. I have always been a workout-holic who prefers to workout or train alone as I think that is serious, but therapeutic personal time to get the job done especially towards a specific goal. And I do have the discipline and perseverance to begin with, so I don't necessarily need the motivation from outside source. I did train for 6 marathons basically alone ( with my dog Choco's help except for runs over 13 miles and with some additional speed work & pointers from a trainer in order to quality for Boston). Now, all that is said and done, and behind me. But then upon discovering CW, I was blown away and inspired by Raphael, the team, and everything in it including the spanking new studio/gym space, which is nicely designed coming from me as a licensed architect. My 14 yr old son has been doing weight training alone for the past year but is ready to train with some help and directions. Here is a clip how he smashed his pushup record to 120 only during the 1st assessment ( not to scare anyone lol). Thanks to Raphael!!!! He has since been even further inspired, and is embraced by Raphael & CW community. Go check it out as I know you will be inspired as well!! The energy there is totally infectious for anyone who needs the motivation or not!!!!
Updates: Best HIIT in LA!! As my personal trainer, Raphael also helped me tremendously to cure the neck pain ( pinched nerve) I have been dealing with for the past 6 years ever since my concussion. My nightly pain has gone to a minimum, and I am forever grateful. My son Vale is also seeing amazing results as he is growing into high school.
Updates: My neck condition has been improved much further and sustained by even stronger muscles day by day. Sauna & cold plunge 2-3 times a week is definitely assisting on this “miracle healing” ❤️🩹

I just completed the 30 day challenge and Circuit Works definitely made that much easier. I’m not a fan of HIIT but the routine they have keeps you moving that class goes by quickly. I did mostly morning classes with Nick who is great. He makes a lot of jokes and is very good about form and making adjustments. The studio is really well kept, the cool temperature keeps me from overheating. I also love the amenities - infrared sauna and cold plunge, the body scan, the trackers so you see how you do during your workouts. If you’re really serious about getting in shape definitely go for the circuit works 30 day challenge.

I hadn’t seen Raphael since I was a child—an old friend of my father's whom I probably last saw when I was around 10 years old. Ironically, I signed up for a 30-day fitness challenge without realizing he was the owner. Once I made the connection, I felt even more motivated to fully commit—and I’m so glad I did.
The results I experienced were truly incredible. I grew up running track, doing gymnastics, and cheerleading—always athletic—but I can honestly say that now, at 32, I’m in better shape than I was at 17. The balanced diet provided as part of the program made a noticeable difference in how I felt and performed.
Raphael’s energy as an instructor makes the classes fly by, and the next-day soreness is the kind you’re proud of—it’s proof you showed up and put in the work.

Very high intensity workout (HIIT class) that you can tailor to your own level! As a beginner who needs to lose a few pounds, I had to work hard and really sweated. The heart rate monitors provided were great - they easily showed you when you needed to slow it down to stay in the fat burning range and when you needed to push more. The instructor was motivating and the class exercises very varied. If you want a real challenge - try Circuit Works!

When my yoga studio closed around the corner from my house I got back on ClassPass looking for a new gym l/yoga home. The moment I walked in to Circuit Works in Santa Monica I was well received by Rafael and I knew there was something special about this gym. I have used ClassPass for years so I have tried basically every single hiit workout west of the 405. Circuit works is the best of them in my opinion. Love the new facility, the heart rate monitoring is an huge plus, always attentive and joyful instructors, effective workout for shedding fat. And now they have hot yoga, reformer Pilates, sauna and cold plunge it’s legit a one stop shop for me. Way way better than the old facility on Main Street. Kudos.

Hi. I've been doing cardio for years. I always shyed away from intense workouts and weights..but I knew I wanted to engage in more challenging workouts. I've been to different hitt workouts on my journey to find the best suitable for ne. AFTER trying about 5 different hitt workouts locations..I found Circuit Works to be the best fit!! It's challenging but at the same time you can go at your own pace. The environment is very welcoming and all the instructors are so great!! The instructor s motivate and at the same time correct your form..so you are getting the most out of your workout!! Another thing that is amazing is above each station is a screen in which the particular workout you are on is demonstrated..so you have that guide along the way!! Lastly..the price point is wonderful!! I would suggest everyone try a class here..the 1st one is free!!

This place is beautiful. All the different rooms, whether it be pilates, yoga, or an amazing HIIT setup, really gave this place something that most studios don't have, variety! Not to mention the awesome outdoor space, or the cold plunge/infrared sauna! Plus the instructor was amazing. I thought the way she set the tone for the class was great. She had such positive energy and gave great instruction throughout the class. It felt like everyone was really engaged with her and it was definitely one of the best workouts I've had in a while. I have been going to Circuit Works since 2012 and have moved with them to various locations. I'm not a workout buff, and am now a busy working mom with 2 little kids. I can usually only squeeze in 2 workouts per week but hands down this is THE BEST total body workout. I've tried heated pilates, Barry's, OrangeTheory, heated yoga with weights, and even CrossFit. I always come back to Circuit Works. It tones the whole body, and is the most bang for your buck in a 50 minute workout. If I'm ever able to do 3x/week for a month, in one month I can get pretty toned.
The trainers are very knowledgeable and work with you through injuries, modifications etc. It feels like a family.
I hope they stay forever at this newer Lincoln and Pico location as it's awesome, amazing screens/tech to make following along easy, and has fast, plentiful parking.

I really like the circuit works workout, challenging but not too hard to follow. Always a great workout. The Saturday morning classes are lead by the owner, they are great!

I always love coming to Raphael’s class! He breaks it down and adjusts you as needed to get the most out of the class. Not only that, but he also motivates the hell out of you to reach your full potential. They give you heart rate monitors so you can really see how much you’re getting out of a 45 min workout. I took my first class at Circuit Works a couple of days ago, and I was blown away. The facility is immaculate and stunning and fully stocked with not only top notch equipment but staff, too. I took one of their HIIT classes with Nic and had an absolute blast while simultaneously getting destroyed. As a coach, Nic is not shy to challenge and work you to a pulp but he's also an extremely attentive and motivational coach. I absolutely loved his class! I will definitely be back!!

Overall, really happy to have found this place! Love the HIIT and Pilates classes. The format of the HIIT class is great bc you switch stations often so it keeps me motivated and engaged. The instructors have good energy and are really helpful in making sure your form is correct - especially in Pilates which is a smaller class so you get more 1:1 attention. The facility is also really nice and love that there are so many amenities like sauna, cold plunge, and a body scan.
Reasons I gave 4 stars instead of 5:
-Parking: not great - it’s street parking or you can park at the corner lot where Starbucks is. Either way, it’s tough to find a spot so I normally end up waiting 10-15 mins for parking.
-Yoga: loved the yoga class but you can hear the loud music and instructor from the HIIT class next door which really takes away from experience in my opinion.
-Cleanliness: there isn’t time in between stations to clean equipment and I’m not sure they are actually cleaning in between classes since they are back to back - could totally be wrong about this though.

What an outstanding gym.
The trainer (Nick) in my HIIT class was so incredibly positive.
Super supportive environment that didn't cause my usual "compare and despair" to kick in, like at other gyms... everyone is coached and pushed in the classes but it never feels like we're pushing against how the other people in the class are performing.
Huge win - especially becasue the cold plunge is available right after the intense classes!!

Quick update, now four months in to working out here. Still five stars, six if I could. The hard product (building, equipment etc.) is superb. Couldnt be better, actually. The soft product (booking software, screens in the classes etc) is similarly fantastic. But that is the easy part. It’s the people
that make this place simply outstanding. The instructors are amazing. I’ve seen my body and mind change for the better over the months.
At first this sort of class may seem scary or unapproachable to someone who doesn’t/hasn’t worked out much. I can assure you it’s for you too. Take the plunge stick with it for a month and you’ll be hooked.
