My husband and I were visiting my hometown and this club was close to our Airbnb, so I checked it out and met Sam, who gladly offered a 3 day free pass. The gym is awesome; every type of machine and weights available. Super clean environment, well maintained. Wished we could stay longer!

Love this gym! My husband and I have been members for a little over 2 years. I would say I prefer this gym over other chains in the area (Anytime, In-Shape). The gym is very clean, and the machines are well-maintained. I wish they had more classes, but otherwise it's a great gym. Also, look to see if your credit union or health insurance offers an Active&Fit Direct discount, as we got our membership for a third of the price through our credit union.

Update: I would not recommend their personal training. We had 8 sessions per month for our youngest and we had regular issues with availability and turnover. We were often not informed until she arrived at the gym.

New location for them with new good quality gear. Doesn’t seem to get crowded even during peak times but that may change as more people join. Staff is friendly and unobtrusive but it can be hard to find someone at times. It’s on the smaller size for a gym and it has no pool or saunas.

Classes are pretty limited (frequency and variety) add the lack of pool, extra features (ex:rock wall) and shorter hours and it pushes what is a reasonable price towards the bottom of bang for your $. If you don’t like crowds and just want the basics this is a good club. If you need more then there are better options. I will say another plus is the lack of long contracts.

I skipped the 1 hour training session since it’s mostly geared towards selling the training. Unlike most other places where you get a customized starter workout you do get shown the equipment and proper technique but no workout or tracking book.

No type of communication from the trainers and managers . Trainers are constantly cancelling sessions and not re-scheduling . I sign up to work with Jake and he has cancelled so many times without giving notice at times. I do not recommend, please save your money and time

I used to go there and I loved the management, they were so supportive & kind. Hally then Manager was a great lady . my-kids were in the kid's club . The closed the kid's club and the management changed.The new management is very rude and unprofessional.. I am thinking on changing the location.

I switched over to this gym from Cal Fit and it's been a huge positive change for me. The gym has multiples of all of the machines and free weights I like to use, so I'm always able to get my workout done quickly and I'm never waiting to get on a bench or to use the leg press. It's clean and spacious, and the aerobics room is available to use if classes are not going on. The staff has always been nice and friendly as I come and leave the gym. Highly recommend this gym in the Carmichael area. It's already wiped away all of my anxiety that I had at my previous gym.

3.2 Star Gym Max

Very aggressive. I get scripted push phone calls constantly from different people with promotions to join even though I am a member. When I didn’t have money on a cc and needed to switch payment I was bombarded with countless phone calls from different area codes. The hyper active sales team wouldn’t let my friend workout even though I was offering her a week long free pass. The entire purpose is stuffed out due to greed. They like pushy greedy sales people to hire even though the club is subpar.

Things like doors in the locker room, toilet etc remain unfixed for extended periods. The front desk is also pushy. There is a complete disconnect.

I do not recommend this club

I feel that the majority of high star ratings must be from employees posing as members or by various employee family members.

Be wary when you see 5 stars then 1-2 stars because it should average around 3.2 stars not 4.5

Awesome location...lot's of great machines. Only complaint is the cleanliness. The machines in the back are always filled with dust, hair, and debris...bathrooms need some extra cleaning as well, especiall the toilets. If they can keep up with the cleaning, then I'd give 5 stars.

Oh how it stings when a corporate entity could do the right thing, but chooses not to!!! Canceled my membership following an experience with the most unscrupulous salesman. Did not receive refund and continue to be billed for multiple months. Due to a family crisis that billing went unnoticed by me. I was refused a full refund and instead told the most they could do was to refund three months worth of payments.

Brand new equipment, clean, and super friendly staff. The equipment is all top notch and the layout is really accessible.
The staff is always very welcoming and they do a great job at keeping the place a great atmosphere. David and Tommy are great to work with there too and spent time putting together a great package to suit my needs.
Small but really helpful is they even have little coded lockers to keep my keys and cell phone in. Well done City sports!

I'm a member of this gym, but honestly a lot needs improvement, floor cleaning and men's urinal. Kids club doesn't open on Fridays, but twice I've seen parents leaving their children there, either it's open to everyone or it's not open to anyone!

Such a great addition to the area. 10 times better than the previous 24hr fitness that was here.

The staff are very welcoming, energetic, and ready to assist you whenever there is a problem.

Everything in there is brand new, so no hand-me-down gym equipment!
