One of the best Gyms in the South Bay. Very well maintained, managed and clean club. See the attached photos . In these days, it is not easy to find a well maintained health club. Amazingly cleaning crews are great, responsible and constantly cleaning everyday. The cleaning crews deserves to be rewarded with this review.

“ Bad management staffs”
One of the speakers of the audio system are constantly broken for years. The Zumba teachers have to turn up the volume so loud to continue the class. It is a health hazard for everyone!!! The speakers are so old and they are too cheap to update them.so many people complained to the management staffs. You can tell they just don’t care about their members.
Also, I noticed the club owner has no interest to improve their club and services because they only responded to the message from the people gave them good review.

Unfortunately, I need to update my previous review regarding the bathrooms. They were already not very clean before, but recently I noticed something even more concerning — the cleaning staff has been using WD-40 on the sink countertops in the women’s restroom. The chemical smell is extremely strong in such a small, enclosed area and lingers for quite some time. I’ve also heard several other members mention the same issue.
I reported this to the front desk, and the staff member I spoke with was attentive and immediately informed his manager. However, days later, nothing seems to have changed — WD-40 is still being used. This is a petroleum-based lubricant, not a cleaning product, and it’s worrying to see it applied on surfaces where members wash their hands and breathe in the fumes.
Aside from that, I’ve been going to this gym for a while and overall, it’s a decent facility. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the gym itself usually feels well-maintained with a good variety of equipment.
That said, many machines are frequently out of order, and the women’s locker room is consistently dirty — which really detracts from the experience. If maintenance and cleanliness were improved, this gym could easily be a 5/5.
The photos I took recently speak for themselves: hair left in sinks, trash and toilet paper on the floor — and it’s not just a one-off incident. I understand that members likely cause much of the mess, but that’s exactly why regular cleaning and upkeep are so important. A clean, well-maintained environment makes all the difference, especially in a place where hygiene matters. This gym has great potential — it just needs more consistent attention to cleanliness in the locker rooms.

⭐ 1/5 Hands down the worst gym I’ve ever been to. The staff are unbelievably rude zero professionalism, acting like they’re doing you a favor by just being there. The place reeks of sweat and something unidentifiable, making it unbearable to even walk in. Half the equipment is broken or out of service, and it’s clear they don’t care about maintenance. Dirty, smelly, and a total waste of money. Avoid this place unless you want to be miserable while working out.

City sports rip off the elderly and handicapped people. When I cancel membership on time, but I still pay for annual fees 59.00 dollars for year 2026.
In 8/29/2024 , I paid membership for September and also pay annual fee for whole year of 2025
Every month on the 29 th of each month they charge to my credit card membership 39.00 dollars . And this September 29 , I need to renew my annual fees 59.00 dollars for year 2026.
However, on 9/23/2025 , I cancelled membership due to my illness and recently had multiple surgeries.
The city sports still charge to my credit card for annual fee in year 2026 . It’s ridiculous and I can’t acceptable to pay for do not use their facilities anymore.
The city sports is a big company , but only 59.00 dollars they can’t waive for a person called cancel membership on time and in the time frame for annual fee.
I am really disappointed and do not recommend to attend their facilities, besides the facilities are so dirty , the staffs are very rude and the way they pick pockets our money.

I have been a member of this gym for 2 years. Recently had a very bad experience where the gym manager - Jonathan, was extremely rude. I pay for a guest pass every month - additional 20 dollars. So I brought a guest but had to go somewhere for 10 min so I left them to try the gym. Jonathan shouts at my back to call me back and then very rudely asks me to leave the gym with my guest if I am not going to be there with them. I asked him if my guest could try the gym as they were also considering a membership. He said no and was rude. When I asked to escalate, he told me he is the Manager. I am appalled at how this gym recruits and trains the staff. I had to ask my guest to leave and they will never consider a membership at City sports now. The staff needs maturity when intervening as they enforce policy. They need to be nice to customers and help them find a way to use the facility especially existing members instead of acting smart and humiliating us in front of our guests.

I’ve been going to this gym for a while now and overall it’s a decent spot. The staff are always super friendly and helpful, and the gym itself is usually kept pretty clean. They have a good variety of equipment, which I really appreciate.
That said, a lot of the machines are often out of order. Also, the women’s locker room is consistently dirty, which definitely takes away from the experience. If they stayed on top of maintenance and cleanliness I would rate it 5/5!

My purse was stolen in this building & I heard that people bring Lock Breakers so the stealers can take your bags! I feel like City Sports should investigate the people that are coming in the building to fix this issue! & for them to completely take off the members that are STEALING! great place, been going there for a few years there are a few cons you should consider before getting a membership. 1. The place gets packed during the afternoon like 6-8pm 2. If you are serious about bodybuilding and are very like into bodybuilding and care about the machines resistance profile then don’t go here, their resistance profile on most machines are bad. If you are an average gym goer then this place is alright. 3. If you are a swimmer and care about the cleaniness then this place isn’t it. I’ve been in the pool a few times and the locker room/bathrooms and pool itself is unhygienic there is debris inside the pool most of the time 4. Parking is impossible during peak hours 5. There are a ton of machine hoggers so u should be prepared to ask them to work in or wait the time for them to finish their 20 sets. Overall, you can make crazy progress but just make sure your gym time is flexible

Two different face when signing up and cancel the membership. I started the membership with 3 other friends on a family plan on 7/9/2024 and the plan is suppose to go for a year, and I asked and confirmed with the staff to cancel before 7/9/2025 is okay, and the staff is pretty sure that the four of us only plan to sign up for 12 months. I marked the end date on my calendar to cancel on 7/8/2025. Then it is another story when I come to cancel the membership today, they said I need to cancel 5 days before the billing period to not get charged for the next months, and show me the agreement I signed (Blame me for not read it carefully, probably true, but I literally show my calendar to the staff last year to confirm it is okay to cancel on that day). After that I realized that I was charged the first and last month at the first day when I sign up, which means I need to pay an additional months of 8/7/2025 to 9/7/2025.
So It is totally 14 months payment, which is just abusing. They said they cannot cancel the payment, so I suggest since three other people on the plan are not coming to gym or pay me for the additional two months, can they give me two buddy pass for these two months so I can bring other friends to the gym. The staff give me an attitude and ask me rhetorical question”Of course not, Why would I do that?” I remember this guy last year is very nice trying to sell us plan, and that is disgusting face this year, just say no if it is not allowed.
It is probably some part of my fault that I did not read the agreement carefully to cancel 5 days before the cycle, the other part of fault is I confirmed with staff and he said it is okay to cancel on the marked day on my calendar. But the additional months the charged at the beginning when I sign up is abusing. Good luck to me on dispute the charge. Worst experience

Joined city sports because of the Pilates reformer classes , they are contracted by KA fitness, instructors are chosen by LA fitness , but unfortunately this location they chose, lack professionalism, no instructor showed up to class but the App showed a class , girls were standing in front of the studio with locked doors No sign was placed that the class is cancelled no one even checked the App if they removed the class from the schedule. You had to go to the front desk and ask why is the room locked.
This is how they treat paying members, joined city sports because of the Pilates class, listing classes that are cancelled listing instructors that are not in the locations anymore.. Bad customer service with both companies. Finger pointing who you need to talk to if you want more classes. Why wait until members request more classes. You should put up classes on the schedule then see if members sign up. We are already paying for our membership.

Today, my family had a really frustrating experience at City Sports in the plaza. My 4-year-old daughter urgently needed to use the restroom, and the staff at City Sports flat-out refused to help us. This meant we had to quickly pack up and drive to another plaza just so my daughter could pee. It's incredibly inconvenient and upsetting when a business shows such a lack of empathy and helpfulness, especially for something as basic as a child needing a restroom. Because of this experience, my family and I will never consider purchasing a City Sports membership, and I will be sharing this negative experience with all my friends and family.

Recently started working with Simon (trainer) due to rotator cuff injury. I have to say, he's an amazing trainer and so knowledgeable!!! Happy with the choice to train w/ him.

I’ve been a City Sports member for a while and really liked it—enough that I use my buddy pass to bring my best friend (who lives with me) so she can try it out while deciding on a gym. Recently, my boyfriend came to visit from Seattle. He loves working out with me, and since he has his own 24 Hour Fitness membership with a buddy pass, we usually explore each other’s gyms when visiting.
Wanting to share my gym with him, I thought the 7-day VIP guest pass that City Sports heavily advertises would be perfect—especially since he’s only here for a week. My plan was simple: my best friend comes on my buddy pass, and my boyfriend signs up for the free trial.
We did exactly that, but when we arrived at the gym, the front desk said he needed to wait 45 minutes for a confirmation email. Fine. My friend and I went ahead and worked out while he waited. After the wait, he received the confirmation, tried to check in, and was redirected to a sales associate—who told him he couldn’t use this 7 day pass because he had been a part of my buddy pass in the past.
Why wasn’t this mentioned in the email confirmation? Why was it confirmed at all if he wasn’t eligible? Instead of a heads-up, we wasted nearly an hour, only to be told “Oh, the guy who approved this before doesn’t work here anymore.” That’s not a professional explanation—it’s a way of deflecting accountability.
At the end of the day, my boyfriend just left and went to his gym. I was left frustrated, embarrassed, and disappointed. I planned a nice moment for us to work out together, and your poor communication ruined that. Honestly, I’m now considering switching gyms when my membership ends. Between this incident and the poor handling of your promotions, it’s clear customer experience is not a priority.
I loved City Sports and was even bringing in potential new members—now I’m not so sure I want to stay.

Bad experience on membership cancellation.
I visited the gym in person before my next billing date to cancel my membership. The front desk told me the cancellation was processed and would be confirmed within 2–3 hours. I never received any confirmation. I followed up via email two days later — no response, and the cancellation still wasn’t processed.
Eventually, I had to block autopay to stop future charges. Since then, I’ve been getting calls almost every other day about a “failed payment” and was told I can’t cancel unless I pay — even though I already attempted to cancel on time.
This experience shows poor management and a lack of accountability. They’re eager to sign you up, but make it extremely difficult to leave.

Extremely disappointing experience. The staff member I dealt with—an older guy with a noticeably receding hairline—was shockingly rude and unprofessional. From the moment I walked in, he seemed disinterested and condescending. When I asked about signing up, he told me it would take 45 minutes just to put me in the system, which is absurd. What kind of outdated system takes that long to add a new member?
Instead of offering help or clarity, he constantly made smirky, belittling remarks that made me feel unwelcome. It felt like I was being talked down to the entire time. If this is the first impression you give to new or prospective members, I can’t imagine how you retain anyone long term. This individual seriously needs retraining—not just in customer service, but in basic decency.

I had a terrible experience with one of the personal trainers, a thin Asian male (I believe his name was Lei or Ray). From the start, he was incredibly rude and unprofessional. During our first assessment, he spent 45 minutes criticizing us rather than offering constructive guidance, even making inappropriate comments about my weight and implying that I shouldn’t be happy with where I am now.
He then took us for a brief 10-minute “trial” in the personal training area and immediately pushed a six-month contract for $3,000. When I declined and said I could only commit to a monthly plan, his attitude completely changed—he became visibly upset, cleared everything off his table in frustration, and made an angry face while questioning why we were even there.
This was an extremely uncomfortable and unpleasant experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, and I’ll be warning my coworkers and friends to stay away.

This facility is virtually the same as standard City Sport/LA Fitness for equipment, size, classes & pool. Full court basketball. Hot tubs are separated by sex. Adequate parking. Mall has plenty of eating options. H Mart across the street.
Minus items are low flow shower heads and no paper towels—air blowers only. Plusses include Wi-Fi that reaches even into the locker room & hot tub area & swimming lessons offered on certain days. Staff keep facility reasonably clean & hair dryers work.

I have a few gripes... First off (and this hasn't been addressed in 12+ months) is there a reason for only having 3x 45lb barbells for the whole floor when there are 8 benches?? Also, there's only one set of crimp clips for the entire free weight section. The shower heads are designed to save as much water as possible - a small trickle of water. Water in the spa and pool is way over chlorinated, to the point that my eyes start watering when I get into the Jacuzzi. They also don't believe in any paper products aside from toilet paper, hand driers only.

Worst possible staff on planet earth. Day 1, I had an appointment and had to wait 40 minutes to see someone to get a membership. I do not know why I didn't leave, writing this so that everyone else would know this about them. Attempted to cancel the membership and in contradiction to their policies I was asked to come in person to do so. When I went in person, the front-desk person did not send the request to the manager and the request never got fulfilled.
Running away from this horrible place is probably the best workout this gym has to offer.

Decent fitness club with clean environment.
During peak hours 3-7p, it’s difficult to get open equipment and have to pretty much wait or improvise on some other exercise.
This is the main concern.
The price to the club seems pretty decent but I don’t appreciate the complicated way to charge people with initiation fees and annual fees and then gym fees. Just have a single price.

If you're joining for the swimming pool be aware that almost everyday during the week and sometimes on the weekends too, one lane of the three is closed for kids training during the hours when you become free from office work and want to enjoy a swim. As such, sometimes we have a situation where there are 10 or more people trying to share the remaining two lanes. Since everybody's pace and style of swimming is different, this often results in a poor experience. The instructor will tell you to do circle laps in other lanes while they use a small portion of the third lane and have it blocked off completely. Suggest different dedicated pool space for training and instruction of kids or having odd timings that do not clash with office hour routine/ peak times.

Very disappointed with the management, they try to pull money out of your pocket. I had LA fitness membership and they made to cancel it, then get the membership in the citysports club, took 200 dollars charge on the membership.
Literally they see customers as cashcow, wait too long to get a machine.
They dont treat customers well and try to ignore your requests as much as they can.
Avoid this gym at all cost

Many of the employees at the front desk don't greet you at all. I've been going here for a year.
I often saw that some of their employees didn’t even raise their heads from the phone to look at you. I told them and managers about this several times. But this does not help, they are also not friendly as always.
One curly-haired employee with a beard and mustache just looks at you and keeps silent, even when you say Hello to him. Why don't they fire this kid. He is absolutely not suitable for working with clients.
The manager, nice and friendly lady, said that she would fix that, but no, everything was the same.
You come to the gym in a good mood, but after being ignored as a client, every time you enter the gym feeling disrespected by these guys. Although you pay money for be there! For what? To see how these kids at the first table were playing on the phone and treating you with such disrespect? So I canceled my membership in this chain.
Managers teach these kids, your employees,
to say the following phrases: “Hello”, “Hi”, “Welcome”, “Have a Great Training”, “Have a Good Evening”. That’s all! Why do they get money for? If they say even one of these things, that’s enough. You just need to be friendly and respectful with the client! Some employees are good though.

Unsatisfactory. They closed their sauna more than 30 mins before the gym’s closing time. The sauna and showers are not clean. They have 1 or 2 yoga mats for the whole gym. I would recommend the Sunnyvale location over this location.

The gym is great with good equipment and all but there’s a huge queue to use smith machine or any bench at the very least. This long wait demotivates you. Also the staff giving some personal training will never let you use that area though there’s no one using the personal training area, it was just empty for an hour. Very rude staff.

The gym is wonderful, but I do hope they could provide paper towels in the bathrooms. Unfortunately, the women's restroom lacks them, which becomes problematic, particularly after using the sauna and sweating. Pleeeeeease provide paper towels!!!! ☺️

08/09/23 I used to review 5 stars a year ago about the gym. However I have to edit it to 3 stars.
My son 4 years old just had a swimming lesson here and I (female) has to take him through the ladies’ changing room because I cannot take him through the males’ room. Plus my husband is in Germany and he cannot be the one who takes him to his lessons. There was an old Vietnamese lady always complained about me taking my little man through the ladies’ room (everyone else is okay about a 4-year-old boy there). She said she will come to the front desk and complain. She said there are always naked ladies around.
10mins later, I went to the front desk to let them know that I cannot let my son go by himself through the males’ room because there is a hot tub in there, there might be a wet floor in there. And if something happens, what if he got an accident… That they should open the side door (they used to open) if they don’t want my son going through ladies’ one.
The front desk guy: your son isn’t allowed to go through the ladies room.
Me: How he can enter the swimming pool?
The front desk guy: He can go by himself through the males’ one.
Me: He cannot go by himself. I will not let my son go through the males’ one by himself.
The front desk guy: Oh, it’s just a straight way.
Me: No, he cannot. If he comes in, and doesn’t come out. Who will come and check for me? You?
The front guy: Hmmmm
Me: I just want to let you know, if you guys want my son not entering the ladies’ room, you guys have to open the side door. Otherwise, no.

Dirtiest of the lot In my opinion. the club I usually go to is the one in Sunnyvale. I also go to the one in Mountain view El Camino and the one in Monterey. Decided to try another one for a change and boy was it the worst!
Only one or two mats to stretch. Not a biggie. Equipment, just about the same as the one in Mountain view. Not too many, just enough. But the bathroom was the worst! Mold over the shower curtains, hair in the drains, water standing on the floors. Ugh! Never again. Too bad. This is the only gym with Punching bags.

The gym is nice enough for the area, but the representative that I was with exhibited stalker-ish behavior when it comes to phone calls. It was only a few hours after signing up for the 3-day free gym pass that they call me asking me(practically demanding me) the time frame of when I would come in to check out the place and sign the waiver form. I'll be honest I thought that was weird that they were calling right away because I wasn't planning to go in that day and I never had any other gym so needy like this. And I still had the whole month to use the pass. Also in less than five days of when I signed up for the gym pass I already got two phone calls from the same representative number. Sorry too much and pushy for me. I shouldn't be surprised since most gyms are quite pushy to bring in and retain new members, but this ain't it.

I was considering if I should switch to a different gym and Anthony showed me around the gym. He is very considerate and patient. I do like this City Sports Club location as the people are less comparing to the other ones I visited and they provide lots of amenities, such as swimming pool, sauna, group glasses, multiple set of weights and machines. It works for me for the price. I would recommend.

This used to be a nice facility about half a year ago. Now the bathrooms are the dirtiest from all City Sports facilities l have been to in the Bay Area. Not to mention that as l'm writing this there has been a dude working out shirtless for half an hour now and no one seems to care. Better go to Planet Fitness?

Gym is poor to mediocre at best, with minor decent amenities like a pool and sauna plus cardio workout rooms. Multiple “exclusive” or “paid membership” rooms with bs classes to waste your time from actual targeted and goal-oriented exercise or workouts and scam more of your money in what appears to be a subpar quality, fairly dirty and unkept gym where the culture is one of broness or perfect eating disordered hourglass female body types flaunting beauty with brand, unnecessarily expensive, and exuberant exercise gear and one of not always reracking weights nor maintaining cleanliness. The sales agent even said to maintain good appearance, he reracked the weight implying they do not normally or usually rerack weights which is disrespectful to who ever is using the equipment next, not to say I am a 100% re-racker especially if the next person wants to use the same weight.
After trying a 3-day pass, which was the biggest mistake I made, because it required me giving one of the unfit sales agents my contact information, after which I was harassed for about a couple of weeks, with numerous calls from this sales agent during work hours interrupting my work. Even though he knew I was waiting to test out the gym and reassess finances before signing up, he continued calling me and leaving the same voicemail over and over 10 times for about 2 weeks until he could not anymore because he had caused my VM box to reach capacity storage.
The unfit, overweight staff and unkept gym plus unfriendly atmosphere really discouraged me from a healthy successful workout, and I could not be more disappointed. This review ultimately earned 2 stars instead of just 1 because the sales agent did evidently put in significant effort into showing me around the facility and making a sale even though it bordered on undue, unwarranted harassment.
By the way, the amenities and equipment do not make this overcrowded gym worth a $100+ initiation fee and $50+ monthly fee. It seems like I would not even be able to get a full workout in with how busy it seems to get. The longer I did not respond, the more discount and deals they offered me which makes this gym seem very suss, cheap, and scammy. I would not recommend signing up for an overcharged membership at this gym that is clearly not worth it.
There are also broken equipments in there. Some things appear makeshift like putting a barbell into a broken corner of a wall to do T-bar workouts which seemed potentially hazardous, at least to the wall if not also to the person working out. Overall, their apparent lack of regard for customer happiness, positive experience, and safety working out deters me from ever signing up to workout as a member at this gym. I will gladly continue going to a $10/month gym that has just about everything and more a person needs to engage in whole complete and safe workouts.

very uncomfortable experience and sales are very pushy. I asked for trial free pass, he said City Sport doesn't have it and ask me sign up right away since I talked with him half hour. I insisted to try first, then he gave me one day pass but with rude attitude. After that, non-stop calling,3 times a week, request me need to call them back, instead of use polite manner, his attitude is very rude and unrespect. I can even hear he slamming the phone down from the voicemail.
It is terrible attitude for customer service, don't go to this gym.

The condition of this gym needs some improvement especially the cleanness of restroom and bathroom. The paper towels seem never get refilled. Only one shampoo is available for shower while the ones in other city like Mountain View have 3 types including shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

It's busy during 5-8PM, but people are friendly unless you're the problem. It's clean and well kept whenever I go (8-11pm). Would've been better if it closed later during weekends. If you're here to lift, then it's a better experience than 24hr fitness (I've been to them all). I signed up through my medical insurance so I didn't have the "sales experience". Just sign up online if you don't want to interact with the sales people.

What a scam. Whether you could get your membership cancelled at this facility is dependent on random luck and the operation manager Jennifer’s “current mood”. My wife recently gave birth to our son. She went to this gym yesterday to cancel her membership. The front desk told her the operation manager, whose name is Jennifer, was not there and she had to call next day to cancel the membership. My wife told them that it was the last day of her monthly membership. And she was worried that if she called next day she would get charged for another month and not get a refund. They guaranteed her that she would get the refund. So my wife called the operation manager today to cancel the membership. The manager rudely told my wife she would not get a refund because that’s their store policy, and she could try her luck at other stores but not the glorious CITY SPORTS AT E BROKAW. I mean, seriously?! So if clients go to City Sports to cancel their membership in person and in time, but the operation manager is somehow not there during business hours, sorry, clients’ fault and they have to pay for another month of overpriced membership?! Really?! Is this the best you can do? Your monthly quota is so miserably missed that you have to squeeze one more month’s membership fee out of a mother in this way?
So my wife asked this rude operation manager who’s her boss and prepared to make a complaint. The manager told her that she had no boss.
So think twice before you sign up to this gym, because the operation manager Jennifer here has no boss and she could do whatever she wants to the clients.

Staff are amazingly helpful. The machines are cleaned daily and the facility provides sanitizing stations or spray bottles if you want to disinfect the machines you're about to use. I really love the spa and being able to use the swimming pool when ever I want. Being able to train here also makes me feel safe than when I used to run in the park. The Trainers here are friendly, they challenge you and help you push yourself to get to where you want. I reccomend getting a membership here.

Literally the WORST gym I can ever go to. NEVER refer and bring ANY of your friends to this place because the sale will embarrass you in front of your friend and they treat every member differently. When I joined the membership last year, I didn't get any body test or private tutor session unlike my friend, and I was fine and paid. Since it is close to my home, I would love to have my friend join the same gym so I referred them. When we arrived and filled my friend's contact, my friend just couldn't get the referral email and the staff on the front desk wouldn't allow us to enter no matter what. This time, I brought another friend to the gym and we were kinda in a rush for dinner after workout. The sales gave us two options to start the trial, either pay 20+ bucks for day pass now which is a joke, or go over a lengthy 30+ min process, which was not expected because I didn't need to do it back then. I had no choice but left. I was just disappointed enough that I decided to cancel my membership and switch to other gyms, but still being told I had to wait to do it on weekday. The most ridiculous sales and gyms I have ever been to.
I seldom write comment, but the way they treat me and my friend motivate me to tell every one how bad and rigid this place can be.

Worst gym for many reasons:
1. Quality of the equipments is poor
2. Unprofessional Staff- had a lot of issues with scheduling PT and cancelling it
3. There is no time limit for an equipment to be used. Even the PT trainers use half of the machine and don’t show any mercy for people staring behind. I don’t understand if PT trainers can’t show them alternate workout apart from machines. They occupy for more than 10mins on an equipment even if people are standing behind.
