Things have been different since City Sports acquired this location!

I used to get this gym as a health benefit through my work, but they cancelled their partnership through Wellhub.

I thought about paying for the membership out of pocket but I decided not to because of reviews about lack of cleanliness, bad hygiene, and running out of soap at this gym. If they clean up then I’ll pay for a gym membership.

This gym used to be an extremely successful business. Sad to see it all go downhill.

Very disappointed in the transition from 48er Fit to City Sports at the same cost I had for the better services, classes and maintenance under the 49er fit ownership. City Sports will keep the energy drinks on hand but have neglected to keep the electrolyte drinks on hand for times a member might experience a drop in electrolytes-I had a serious drop in electrolytes after one workout at City Sports and started feeling numb limbs and started to pass out. One of the members of staff had to go purchase an electrolyte drink from a store outside of the gym in order to assist me in recovering from the sudden electrolyte drop. Also, the cleaning crew cleans the place in the middle of the day and has the power cords for their cleaning equipment strewn across the gym floor creating a tripping hazard as they used their cleaning equipment. Obviously they need to have their vacuums and other machinery plugged in, but having this done right in the middle of the day does not seem like the ideal time. More machines are out of service than when under the 49er fit ownership. And yet, they informed me I had to pay the 49er Fit membership fee which is $20 more than the City Sports fee and offers less of their premium services and classes. The front desk members who were part of the 49er crew have
Been as helpful as they can be under the circumstances, but it’s not enough to offset the utter coldness and lack of concern for their members.

Update 10/25/25: THEY LIED! Switched to golds gym and canceling my membership at city sports. Im still paying $59 while on their website new members have options at $40 and $49 with nationwide access. When the takeover happened, we were told city sports members would have to pay more to use this facility. Well they lied! Can't support a facility I can't trust, along with with the rude front desk( Diane, Amber and the tiny dark haired girl) im better of at golds.

Update 10/20/2025: things have not changed, except for it steadily worsening week after week. The blonde girl at the front desk chose the wrong career and should go into accounting since she wants to track all my monthly payments instead of doing her job.

Update: some of the members of the front desk need humbling. This is just a gym lol. The attitude from the girl at the front desk is always crazy but today was over the top. I still love this gym and don't come for the front desk so will give a better rating if things change

I’ve been a member at 49er Fit since June 2024, and overall, I absolutely love this gym. The place is spotless, the equipment is well-maintained, and the vibe is fantastic—members are friendly and respectful, which makes every workout enjoyable. Most of the staff is amazing too; the front desk crew is usually super helpful and welcoming, and I’ve got to give a special shoutout to trainer Christian. He’s always going out of his way to help out, offering solid advice and making sure everyone feels supported—total game-changer.

That said, I’ve got to call out a frustrating experience with the manager, Amber. On February 28, 2025, I showed up for my usual session, and she was waiting at the desk to block me from entering because my account was flagged. I’d lost my credit card and was waiting on a replacement—something the front desk already knew about. I explained the new card was arriving that day, but Amber wouldn’t budge and refused me entry until the payment was updated. It turned into a huge hassle—I had to drive 40 minutes each way to my bank in traffic just to sort it out and keep my routine. I get that policies exist, but a little flexibility or empathy would’ve gone a long way, especially for a regular who’s been loyal for months.

Despite that hiccup, 49er Fit is still a gem of a gym. The pros—like Christian’s awesome support—far outweigh this one con, but I hope management can work on handling situations like this better. If you’re looking for a clean, friendly spot to train, this place is worth checking out—just keep your payment info current to avoid any drama!

I would give this place ZERO stars if I could:
- POORLY MAINTAINED/UNHYGIENIC FACILITIES: in my opinion the men’s locker room smells like a WET DOG + STALE URINE
- RUDE FRONT DESK STAFF: in my opinion totally unemployable due to lack of basic courtesy

This gym is a scam, they use some promos to fool you to sign up, and ask you to pay for a last month free, which covers 1 month membership after you cancel. But after you cancel, they do not honor the last month payment you did upfront.

The gym equipment is well maintained though.

I have been a member of 49er Fit for 5+ years and since City Sport took over the place the club has gone downhill very quickly.
The gym area smells like a dirty locker room, the equipment hasn't been maintained properly for who knows how long?
The BIG screen TV has been stuck on info commercials for over a month, and front office staff members told me that they have made several request to management to send in a tech to fix it and that management has refused to do so. Who wants to look at info commercials for 45 minutes while working out on the ellipticals, not me!
About 10 smaller TV's do not work and display a black fuzzy screen, been over a month for these too.
Planet Fitness and Vim & Vigor are close by for about 2/3 less the price of the City Sport Club.
They will probably be out of business at this location very soon.
I am out of City Sport Clubs, no matter where they are!

TAKE YOUR MONEY TO GOLDS GYM. THIS PLACE SUCKS. This review is my opinion based on my subjective experience/observations:

Compelled to write this review to alert others of my experience with RUDE STAFF and POOR FACILITIES MANAGEMENT.

(1) The hygeine deteriorated following acquisition by City Sports (although not sure if it caused this).
- On several occasions, the urinal/bathroom floors are soaked with what I presume is urine (from the smell). Coupled with the fact that the bathroom is HUMID (from the sauna), this creates very UNHYGENIC conditions.

(2) The equipment is poorly maintained.
- Half the cable machines do not work for the past 2 months
- the seats of many of the machines are torn/in disrepair

(3) Some of the staff is extremely rude. I had poor experiences with Amber P. and Valerie A. in the past (resounding what other reviewers have said). They give disrespectful replies to sincere/basic questions. Gives off an air of superiority/dismissiveness. As if they are too good to be talking to you.

This place really went downhill.

They definitely don't clean nearly enough, the sauna door is never fixed even after people constantly complain to management about it.

The straw that broke it for me yesterday is that none of the paper towel dispensers on the floor were filled. Clear they're just looking to profit while cutting costs wherever they can.

New management by city sports turning this place that was once decent into a crap gym.

We’ve been members since the gym opened… They did a great job of transitioning during the COVID lockdown and the eventual slow opening… there is plenty of equipment and at times, it does get crowded where you have to wait for certain equipment but we tend to avoid the busy times. The classes are what we enjoy the most - the training camp classes, and HIIIT are great! Izumi leads the best yoga classes - I have only attended her Saturday morning class but it is on par with any high end yoga studio! There are other classes in the evening but we haven’t attended any so can’t speak to the quality. Before the pandemic, they had 6:00a classes that we loved - and they were pretty popular too- you had to sign up right on time or it would be booked. I wish they would schedule classes at that time again- it was a great start to my day! The staff at the front desk rotates often - there are a couple of regulars- and they are generally polite and helpful. There are plenty of staff who can help sign up and give personal training sessions. The facilities - bathrooms/ showers need a little refreshing after some time… There is a steam and sauna room that I keep meaning to use regularly but haven’t yet!

EDIT- updated as CITY SPORTS has now taken over

In case you read my EDIT about how disappointed I was that the group classes were gone. Apparently, they are still there (some classes have changed, and a couple of instructors have left) but the group classes are mostly on the schedule. They are not showing up on the schedule 🤨. I’m still taking a star off because the general cleanliness of the place has been declining!

This review is for the rude front desk staff. Multiple reviewers have pointed out the same thing—and my experience suggests this is NOT A FLUKE! A few of them (Valerie A., Amber) act like you're bothering them just by showing up. Every scan-in or simple question is met with a STANK face and a curt, condescending reply.

City Sports could easily find better replacement managers/customer service when they take ownership. These people are totally incompetent.

Used to be a great gym. Now run by city sport. City sport’s management team is incredibly difficult to work with and rude. From a community to a business.

They made me pay an annual fee in order to cancel my membership. They provided no warning about the fee and forced everyone who got sucked into the acquisition to pay it instead of giving them an option to leave. (When city sport took over 49ers fit) keep in mind I tried to leave 2 weeks after the acquisition!

The manager also threatened to take me to a collections agency for an Annual fee for a membership I never wanted in the first place haha.

Moral of the story here: shady organization only concerned about profits. Would rather scum you for money now then try to earn your money later. If I could give 0 stars here I would

This place has gone downhill recently. From missing equipment to not replacing the dirty water bottle filling filters for several days or not allowing guests. For how much I pay, they really aren’t delivering.

Edit: I moved to Crunch Winchester and I am much happier there. It’s 35% cheaper, has more squat racks, and I can bring guests for free. No-brainer.

Looks like they finally replied to my review after a year. That alone tells you how much they care.

The gym is decent. You can get a good workout in if it’s not overly crowded. Be careful when you sign up. The sales team will leave out clauses about your contract. For instance, when you cancel you have to cancel 10 days prior to your billing date or they will still charge you. Also when you sign up you pay first and last months payment. Then there’s a one time fee of $59 on your third month. You can find decent gyms all over the area. The lack of communication will forever leave a bad taste in my mouth and I’ll never sign up again or recommend the gym in the future.

State of the art, clean gym with excellent facilities and lot of capacity. This is by far the best in Saratoga. The front desk folks are not pushy or hustle you like you see in other gyms. The equipment is maintained really well and any issues are fixed right away. I have come in at various times and there is never any waiting time as it stands for any equipment, even if the strength training area gets a bit dense. The shower and sauna are usually clean and well maintained, plenty of lockers with pin number locks. Very well maintained gym, awesome to work out especially during a big game with their giant screens! Highly Recommend it.

Great vibe, and very friendly staff. The people that go here are generally very nice as well. Never had any trouble asking to work in, and even got some great coaching advice from others when I asked about an excercise they were doing. Very much a community feel. Only drawback is the place can get a bit stuffy / smelly around peak hours. Ventilation can be improved.

Update: cancellation is super difficult (I moved to a different city), you have to either go ib person or email. I tried calling but they told me I can't cancel over the phone?? How does that make any sense. They ended up charging me even after I emailed them, and after a few emails they stopped responding.

I have been a member since 2020.

USE DEODORANT!!!!

Worst thing about this gym - some people don’t use deodorant and smell terrible. Please use common sense and etiquette.

Music extremely loud. Almost like a night club and can hear music through my AirPods. Very annoying.

Way too many elliptical and bicycle machines no one’s using but free weights are always occupied. Should utilize space more by reducing non-cardio machines.

Too many free trial periods throughout the year. Sometimes 1 month free which crowds the gym like a 24hr fitness

Addressed - Soap dispensers in the men’s room are often broken. Faucets are weak.

Addressed- Paper towels for wiping down equipment are often empty.

Addressed - Seems things have improved a lot. But they did a one month free trial which is not fair to those who pay monthly. And made the gym overcrowded.

Seems addressed- Gym smells terrible at time with improper ventilation and people that don’t use deodorant.

Stay away!!

I’m new to the area and tried this gym for the first time today. Unfortunately, it was a terrible experience!!

I arrived 5 minutes early for the 9AM on March 12, yoga class signed up on ClassPass, only to find out it was cancelled—no prior notice, no email, nothing.

When I asked if I could use a free pass since it’s my first time here to access the gym facilities instead, the staff refused, saying I was “already in the system.” Even after explaining I hadn’t technically been here yet, even they were the one who cancelled the class, they wouldn’t accommodate me.

When I asked the staff member her name, she wouldn’t share her name claiming she is “uncomfortable.” If you work in customer service, you should be able to take responsibility for your actions and interactions. Refusing to share your name is unprofessional and shows a lack of accountability.

Poor communication, inflexible policies, and unprofessional behavior made this a frustrating experience. I expected better customer service, especially as a new member.

I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this gym to others.

Very poorly managed gym. The staff, Valerie A. is terrible, no smile, bad attitude. If you are over 30 years old, definitely don't come to this gym because they discriminate against the old people. Their group classes are very fast, and one of the exercise teacher even asks you to keep spinning in circles. When you report this to the front desk Valerie, she answered: "Don't come here. Go to another gym because this is not the right place for you." Unbelievable! How could she be so rude!!😱

These teachers just want to fill up the 50-minute class time instead of really wanting to teach the class well! Unfriendly staffs as well....😞

The environment is very concerned. You can see in the photos that the bathroom and shower area are always full of garbage and water is stagnant on the floor, which is very unsanitary and unsafe.

I joined 49er Fitness Center because of its **dry sauna**, a feature I valued since their opening. However, I am disappointed that this year, the sauna closes early at 9 PM despite the gym's hours extending until 11 PM. This change disrupts my routine and diminishes the experience I’ve enjoyed for years. I urge management to reconsider this decision and restore the sauna's previous hours, allowing members to fully benefit from this essential amenity. The sauna is a key reason many of us chose this facility.

It's a really good gym, but there are two problems:
1. There is only one toilet throughout the entire gym, and the gym is really big, it needs at least one more because it is a trek to get there from most of the gym.
2. Quite a few of the machines just don't work, I found two treadmills today that didn't work. Luckily there are lots of spare ones.

In all, I really like it, but it has a fault or two, but this is okay given the price which seems to be pretty low for the Bay Area.

I’m extremely disappointed with this facility’s lack of communication and unprofessionalism. On December 23, I arrived at 5:30 AM based on Google’s listed hours, only to find it closed. The only notice was a poster board at the facility—an outdated and ineffective way to inform members in the 21st century.

When I brought this up with the manager, she was rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. Before I could even explain, she cut me off, saying, ‘We didn’t have access to social media.’ When I suggested she escalate the issue or inform someone higher up about the lack of communication, she seemed annoyed and simply said she was the manager, offering no solutions or accountability.

This level of unprofessionalism and disregard for people’s time is unacceptable.

The gym should be renamed "Yoga Fit" instead of "49ers Fit," as there are more yoga classes than training camps and HIIT classes. While they previously offered amazing classes and had excellent coaches, there are now very few classes available. The new manager, seems indifferent to the needs of the members.

Thanks for the reply. Please pay competitive salary, training, and good management to coaches so they stay.

-Been a member for 9 months now. Chose this gym due to proximity, array of different group workouts & the option of Sauna/Steam room for recovery.

-The Gym used to have daily fitness classes and schedule (6:30pm/7:15pm start) that allowed members to skip traffic from work.
-Earlier this summer, the class schedule was updated: Different times/less frequency/less instructors.
-Yoga classes changed location & went from being in a big dedicated Yoga Room to a smaller room 1 floor below the turf workout zone. - Means for the Yoga classes now; people actively using the turf 1 floor up and throwing medicine balls on the ground are creating a major distraction of the Yoga Classes due to noise/vibration it causes.
-Less instructors: The amount of fitness instructors for the group workouts is too low. - Many instructors have left since earlier in 2024; and the same quantity of instructors was not rehired. Means if an instructor is sick; rather than having substitutes, the classes just get cancelled.

Message to the management: Do better and please address these issues!

I started at 49ers Fit more than two years ago even though I have a decent gym at work. The main reason for joining 49ersFit was the Number of classes and great coaches. Slowly and steadily, many of the coaches have left and the number of classes have dwindled to a very few. Every time, I contact the Management, I get the same answer, we are trying to find good coaches. It’s going on for almost a year. Usual answer is we have the new coaches in 3 months. When we check 3 months later, the date gets pushed further by 3 more months. The current estimate is that the new coaches will join in Jan 2025. Waiting …

Reason I gave 2 stars is because of the great coaches for the few classes we still have, overall facility, positive vibe, and good members. 0 stars for the management.

Will update my review in January 2025.

I’m a brand new member, but so far staff has been great (Celeste was our rep helping my fiancée and I sign up, and she was great), facility is clean with lots of new looking equipment including many that I haven’t seen before at other gyms, and they have lots of extra amenities and classes. Locker rooms are clean and lockers have built in combo locks which I find very convenient.

Location is awesome with target, Trader Joe’s, and sprouts nearby, so you can knock out groceries along with your workouts.

Some other reviews had me a little worried, but as far as I can tell this is a great little local gym. As mentioned above, I am a brand new member, so I can’t really speak to the quality of the studio classes, other staff, or recovery lounge services.

Pretty horrific gym. Very pricey as well. If you have ever been to a Crunch, it’s just a red crunch. I genuinely believed they just re-branded as a 49er fit as a marketing scheme so hopefully yall don’t fall for that. They have the same exact equipment including dumbbells, benches, and even the tables they use. Now nothing wrong with the equipment, but for $70 a month, I would expect better equipment than Crunch, which is $13 a month. For their equipment, their benches are exactly the same as crunch. Extremely hard and and slippery, providing no support and grip. For their staff, they’re not very kind. Very rude to me when I was trying to cancel my membership. They tried making me pay fees and trying to encourage to not cancel even though I was moving away. Overall pretty negative experience and I would not recommend ever going, even for their 7 day trial. I have been a member of 49ersFit for 3 years. Recently, significant problems have been increasingly ongoing:

- Many workouts are conducted by just 1-2 same instructors.
- They need more instructors but they don't hire new instructors.
- The experienced instructors left.
- The regular daily workouts have been canceled on certain days.
- The '90 minutes Saturday Training Camps', which I have attended every Saturday for years and which we all loved participating in, have been canceled, and there are no more Training Camps on Saturdays.
- There has been a renovation in the mobile app. However, due to the app update, all my rewards I have accumulated over 3 years have disappeared! And no one is taking responsibility for this.

Gym facilities are pretty good but the management is equally anti-customer. It's extremely difficult to freeze your membership for vacations. Till 2023 they allowed members to freeze membership for a month but then they changed it to minimum 2 whole months and instead of a flat charge during the freeze, increased it to 20% of monthly charges. The strategist behind this policy must be very smart, because even if you do need a 2 month vacation because the policy only allows for whole months, if you are going for example July 15 to Sept 15, you are technically away only for August but since the gym needs a minimum 2 months freeze, you won't be eligible to avail this freeze. Also, you can at most freeze for 6 months in a year, so I'm not sure who will be the people going for at least 3 months of vacation to be able to use this policy. This discourages people to pause it at all.

Even if you end up finding yourself in a situation where you are eligible to freeze only one person is able to execute that. They don't work over the weekend so good luck with reaching them on time. I tried to pause my membership for 2 months, 10 days before the billing date but it was Saturday so authorized person was not working. The staff at the front desk asked me to meet them during the week between 10 to 5. Following Monday, 8 days before billing date, I met them and put my application for 2 months freeze, the form also noted the freeze billing date as 4/30 but I was still charged full amount for the next month. When I followed up to ask why, I was told because the paper work was filed on 4/22 I was not eligible for pause on 4/30.

While the gym boasts an app to manage signup or cancellation for various classes and to view your agreement, the process to pause the membership is an ancient one where you have to fill a paper application. The barriers in this path are so high that other than the authorized person, no other staff will even give you the paper application. If I was provided the application for freeze on my first attempt itself, it could have been approved whenever the authorized person returned to work, but that would mean providing a customer friendly policy which this management is strictly against.

Great equipments and group classes but absolutely awful management! Called to cancel my membership and the guy on the phone sent me email to ask for signature, I signed and sent it back on the same day and then haven’t heard back for half a month.

Visited during weekend and the front desk told me my membership are still there, no explanation date, they said they only have 1 person to process the cancellation and i need to come in person during weekdays before 5 pm to cancel my membership. They’re not sure if I’ll be charged and if I could get refunded for my next payment 😅

Update: visited in person to cancel my membership and I called before the visit to confirm if mgr was there, the guy answered phone reiterated I need to come to cancel. And when I got there, the mgr told me my membership has already cancelled. Ok guess last time my complains and notes work?? so why not simply send me a update email or send an in app push notification? No any comms around this, wasting of my time, im very disappointed!

The sauna facilities are newer and clean but they are intentionally not heating them in the morning probably to save $ so you have to come at night to use it. Overall it’s an above average gym.

Usually tightly packed
Not 24X7 (UFC better alternative)
Worth it, If you workout on your own.
Expect racist treatment, if you are not white.

If you want to have PT sessions, totally worthless.
I purchased around 30 sessions and
My experience is
Trainers don’t pay much attention, on their phone most of the time.
They are not dedicated enough
They are not prepared before the session
They don’t come with a plan for the session.
They give out their mobile number, but they hardly respond. Ever sent multiple messages to your girl and she responds back with 1 word. That’s the feeling I get every time I text them, really horrible!

Extremely rude management and terrible billing issues. My add on member got charged a late fee for no reason without any notification. I raised this with the management and they refused to do anything about it and mentioned that they do not notify you before charging any such fees. You get an email after any additional fees is deducted from your account and they refuse to reverse it even thought it was their system issue.

The facilities of the gym are good, but the management does not care about members or their concerns. They also don't care about such negative reviews (a lot of people have mentioned about such billing issues in the past few months).

While this gym may come with a higher price tag, it offers numerous benefits, including steam and sauna rooms in both men and women locker areas, not to mention a well-equipped boxing studio. The facility is impeccably clean, with fresh air circulating, and there's even a recovery area (although it comes with an additional cost). Overall, my experience with this gym has been excellent. The only drawbacks are occasional loud music and some individuals occupying equipment while engrossed in their phones.

Getting charged late, and overdue fees even though they have my banking information. For some reason they keep waiting two months, and THEN charging the two months, PLUS a late fee! How can I possibly be late on a payment that can simply be automatically charged to my account? They’re definitely taking the money from the bank so it doesn’t make sense. Called to complain, obviously, not helpful. Said they didn’t have my banking information so they couldn’t charge me. How????? You clearly can charge me!

Whoever they’re hiring to bill people are doing a great job at stealing money. I like this gym but if they can’t function properly no one is going to show up anymore.

The gym itself was great, but I had a lot of problems with them not following the billing agreement. I experienced exceptionally poor customer service by management when I went to talk to them about the Discrepancy, so I canceled my membership after 3 months, I ended up paying about $90 a month, and even though I had paid for first and last when I signed up, when I canceled my membership they stole my last month dues. Really unhappy about my experience here, and as they have not made it right, I will continue to post share my bad experience with others via this type of forum as well as with anyone whom I talk to about this gym.

The inside of the building honestly looks like it was thrown together by some high school kid. There's literally no air circulation in the weightlifting area, they've gone and bolted the benches down in the dumbbell section, and can you believe they've got this blinding 500-watt light just beaming right into your eyes while you're to bench pressing. Instead of some fans you get 100 speakers that play terrible remix music

I've been a loyal member of this gym for the last 4 years and have encouraged many others to become members, but over the last year this place has really gone downhill.
First of all, they charge a yearly improvement fee and there has not been a single new piece of equipment since enrolled. For two years the cable ropes were threadbare and they only finally just replaced them. I have a membership at another gym closer to home and they've gotten 4-5 new pieces of equipment in the last two years and their monthly rates are 10 bucks less a month.
Over the last few months, many important machines (leg extension, smith machine, cable machines) have been out of order for weeks. Don't count on the bathrooms to be accessible either. There are horrendous plumbing issues that have causes bathrooms to be out of order for days at a time, while they don't provide alternative restroom options (which I think is illegal). The bathroom issue might be beyond 49ers and more of an issue for the building owners, but it's unacceptable.
Vibe wise, it's definitely more of an influencer gym right now no matter what time of day you're there. Expect someone to be filming while you're there. Some people are respectful of those around them, but others do not care if you're in their videos. 49ers need to adopt filming policies like other gyms to protect their members from ending up on someone's social media page without their consent.
I've brought all of these issues to the attention of management and get the "I hear you" sentiment but it falls on deaf ears. Perhaps management is hamstrung by the corporation that owns they gym, but this place doesn't seem to care about their membership population.
It pains me to do this, but I think I'II be canceling my membership and moving to another gym.

While this gym has a lot of versatile and excellent gym equipment, I'm concerned about the sewage water coming out of various drains in the women's restroom. This foul-smelling water with debris floating in it was coming out out of various drains in the locker room, including around the sink and in the (what is supposed to be dry) changing area.
As someone who works in healthcare, I feel 100% confident in identifying the smell of feces coming from this water. While I feel okay using the equipment upstairs, I will be avoiding the downstairs bathroom and steam room facilities until this plumbing issue is fixed. 🤢

Once you go down stairs the temperature goes up 5-10 degrees and it smells like pure bo which indicates that there’s no ventilation. When I signed up for this gym almost 3 months ago I would’ve never expected how much it would change my life! I was in a low spot mentally and was looking to make some changes when I found out they had opened a gym not far from my house. Fortunately they were doing a promo the weekend I went to check it out so I got a discounted membership rate but either way I think it is well worth the fee as the facility is very spacious and clean with a lot of high quality equipment and amenities included. They have anything you could need whether you are beginner gym goer or a washed up college/high school athlete turned gym rat (aka me).

I was skeptical of signing up for personal training at first, being a physical therapist myself, but it ended up being the one final motivation factor I needed to finally start and keep going to the gym consistently. Coach Clarissa has been an absolute blast to work with and I’ve been seeing more progress in the last almost 3 months with her than I’ve ever seen in my life after trying over and over again by myself and never getting the results I wanted. She not only helped me with motivation and encouragement but also with my nutrition/diet which was my main obstacle. I’m now feeling better than ever physically which has also improved my mental health dramatically.

Everyone that works here has been very friendly and helpful and I honestly have never seen a gym be as proactive with cleaning and maintaining their equipment before. Like one time I saw someone replacing the seat of a chest press bench that only had a slight tear in it and one time they were vacuuming the inside of some machines ?? I didn’t even know you could do that?? Maybe my standards are just hella low coming from my college gym but I appreciate it nonetheless! They also throw a lot of community events and have free open gym access on weekends pretty frequently which is very fun (and sometimes there’s free food involved 👀).

All in all I’ve had a great time at 49ers fit and would/have recommended it to anyone looking for a nice gym at a decent price point. The only real negative I can say about this place is that it’s in between a Target and Michaels and Ross which is a trap for any girlies with a shopping/crafting addiction like me.

I signed up in October, paid my first and last months dues.. due to a change in work I can no longer make it there. I called to cancel, they told me I had to email to cancel. A few days later I sent the cancelation email, at that point i then received a response stating I needed to cancel 10 days before my billing cycle otherwise I get charged for the next month. They did not mention this on the phone, and I emailed 9 days before. Management doesn’t care! I’ve essentially now paid for the month of may, and the month of June. They were already getting me for an extra month as I prepaid the last months dues! The equipment is really no different than 24 hour fitness.. I’ll never step foot back in this gym!!

Horrible cancelation policy which seems to require different process per person.
I had a physical theraphy session here for a few weeks then was offered to try the gym which led to signing a membership. After a few months due to some personal event happened, I had to cancel the membership. I canceled the membership over email then I went moved on with my life then discovered that they were still charging my card. When requested for refund, their manager, Daniel said he emailed me to complete a cancelation form - "hard copy" then asked me me to send it back. When I refused, he said there was nothing he could do about it until I completed the form the membership was still valid. This was astonishing as in today, a lot of business is done over email. Long story short, he is refusing to credit the charges stand by his process. If you are to practice a business, be consistent with your policy with everyone otherwise. The gym facility is great but they are not the only gym in the south bay you can go. I will make sure you know your rights before signing a membership or avoid it.

The availability of this gym has tended to deteriorate quite a bit since opening. Among other things- the monthly charges of more than double what other 24 hour fitness franchise locations charge, do not make this competitive at the current time.
Pros: Not very packed. Clean lockers and shower/sauna. Regular group classes including HIIT. Large turf area for the group classes and large variety. Newer machines. Group class instructors are all top notch.
Cons: High prices. Some parts of the app are buggy. Not enough deadlift stations (need to wait for quite some time- even late at night). Music stops a full half hour before closing time. Reduced staffing at front desk. No swim area.
Overall, as other gyms begin to reduce prices and offer comparable or larger spaces, this location will probably price itself out of the market.

The locker room was as spacious as I would expect for a spacious gym, which is to say very. I took away 2 stars since they are not clear & consistent with their cancellation policy. So WATCH OUT for that.
Don't just talk with help desk in front (some may be not informed). Email them 5 weeks in advance, and have it in written if you are canceling. These guys are horrible at cancelling your membership. They will try to force you to pay for additional membership months and not process your cancellation request on time so they can continue to bill you. Well, this is my personal experience and I have wright to share so.

The reason why I enrolled to 49ersFit was that I had really bad experience with 24 hours in which they were charging me even though gym was closed.
I regret not reading reviews before enrolling actually found out that 49ersFit and 24Hours has same owner. (so same type of management)

Everything is all good, you treated so nicely by employees, trainers are way more willing to communicate with you which is so cool. However, you start seeing the other side of iceberg when you decide for canceling.

I had 3 moths Personal Training agreement with one of their trainer in which I was never told that I will be auto charged. Even though the agreement has my signature and that trainers signature, we both are not able to workout there. That trainer is no longer working with them and I don't want to be scammed there.

I was charged 3 months already and by chance, I emailed them April 18 to cancel my membership. Wait a moment, On April 19, They charged me 77.50 (extra than my monthly fee) and 332 for 4th month. I was literally scammed here.

Whoever, does not want to get scammed, stay away from this gym.
