I have been an Unlimited Member at Club Pilates Arroyo Grande since November 2024, and my experience has been disappointing due to inconsistent policies, lack of transparency, and clear favoritism toward certain members. Despite following staff instructions regarding in-person rescheduling, my membership was suddenly canceled without a clear explanation. Attempts to seek clarification from management were met with dismissiveness, unresponsiveness, and unprofessional behavior.
Additionally, the studio enforces arbitrary policies that are not consistently applied, making it difficult for paying members to access classes fairly. The so-called “unlimited” membership has restrictive booking limitations, and management fails to address concerns in a meaningful way. Since the transition to Riser Fitness ownership, customer service has significantly declined.
If you’re looking for a Pilates studio with fair policies, clear communication, and respectful management, I would strongly recommend exploring other options.

Do Pilates, Get Scammed. Should be their slogan. They tried to overcharge me hundreds of dollars to cancel. They snuck in an extra 30 days into my contract and told me they were gonna send me to collections. Well do it. Hire the lawyer to serve me, I’ll see you in court to settle.

If you're looking for a safe environment where you can achieve your fitness goals, do not go here!!! I scheduled a 30 minute free intro class for today at 6pm. I arrived at 6:10pm & upon arriving I was told that I would not be let into the class because it had already passed 5 minutes after the start of the class. I said okay, acknowledging the policy, & in the most respectful way suggested that that be mentioned upon scheduling the class. The girl at the front desk, Morgan, snapped at me--she immediately said in an extremely condescending tone, "wellll we always mention to arrive 15 minutes early, so i'm pretty sure we told you." I reiterated that I was not told. She responded back with, "Well let me check the notes, i'm pretty sure we told you--i mean it is just common courtesy to arrive to the class on time." I let her know that the way she was talking to me was inappropriate & she rolled her eyes & all she could come up with was "okay." All these extra comments--and behavior--were extremely inappropriate & unprofessional. She was insinuating that I was lying about not being told to arrive 15 minutes early. If the customer says they were not told, then they were not told--period! It is not up to the front desk associate to question otherwise. The appropriate response would have been to say, "I'm sorry about that, we always want to ensure we provide this information to all our customers." I would highly recommend Morgan receive extensive training on how to appropriately approach negative feedback in the workplace & perhaps how to manage her big emotions. I am a therapist & I can't even imagine what type of first impression this might have on a customer who built up the courage to tackle their fitness goals only to leave feeling extremely unwelcome and discouraged. I will not be signing up for any classes whatsoever.

My husband and I joined Club Pilates when they opened in January. We both love it. The classes are just what we needed. Energetic to start the day or just the right amount of cardio to end your day. All the instructors are fabulous. No class is ever the same which is great. So glad you opened this studio.

I have been very happy with the classes at the new studio in Arroyo Grande. The instructors are great and I have noticed increased strength and flexibility in a short time. Plus, the studio is very clean and the equipment brand new.

Really wanted to love this studio, but business owners are a joke. Bought a sweatshirt that was 74 bucks...wore it and washed it once. I went to wear it a second time and it had a small hole in it. I brought it in to exchange (they didn't have my size) TRACI STEVENSON, the owner inspects it closely and with a snotty face says we don't take returns but I'll go ahead and do it for you this time.
Then I tried to book my second months of classes and could not book a single class for 14 days. You only have a month to use your credits as they don't roll over( I already lost 1 credit the month before) so basically i am paying for something that I'm not able to access so I cancel membership and explain my reasoning's. Was basically told oh well you signed up for 3 months so you're gonna be charged for 3 months. No one listened to my concern that their business model doesn't make sense...they obviously over enrolled their studio and can't accommodate all of their members. Would never have left a negative review because I'm not that person, but after the very RUDE email that BRAD STEVENSON sent to me, I thought I should share my experiences. In BRAD's threatening email it was stated I never utilized the waitlist system ...I did so that was a lie. I never got in a class that I was on the waitlist for so going forward why would I try to do that. Charging for services that you can't provide is FRAUD. I filed a dispute with my bank!
I've been a resident of AG since 1986 and our small town is losing its appeal when small business owners (that don't come from small towns) don't value their clients/members.
After the email I received, I'm sure BRAD will pop off in the responses.

I have been a member of the SLO studio for over 2 years and this new AG studio is under the same ownership with some of the same instructors. The fantastic quality of ownership is unmatched as I have gone to other Pilates studios while traveling. Tracy and Brad take pristine care of their studios and truly care about their members’ experience. They buy new props and equipment and make sure they are kept up and clean. They hire friendly helpful front-desk staff and well-trained knowledgeable and experienced instructors. They also have a rare perk- if you are a member of any of their studios in the county you can take classes at any of their SLO, Paso, and now AG studios. I am so looking forward to the AG studio opening!!!
