Brandon is the best. I have been training with him for almost 2 years and I keep coming back for more. I am not the most consistent at prioritizing working out, but he has been great at keeping me on track and even helped me bounce back after a broken foot. Training with Coach B has been an absolute game-changer, not just for my fitness, but for my attitude toward working out in general. He is the perfect mix of chill and hilarious, which makes every session feel less like a workout and more like hanging out with a really fit, really funny friend who also happens to push you to be your best. I’ve been working out in gyms for 30 years and have come across many trainers who are full of themselves or just downright dismissive. Brandon is one of my favorites that I’ve worked with because he listens to your goals and caters each workout to you while also pushing you beyond your comfort zone when needed. He is also just a really nice guy who is pleasant to be around and shoot the shit. Having the 24 hr access is so great because I live 2 blocks away and can fit in a workout or sauna/cold plunge whenever it’s convenient for me. Let’s face it-I’m much more likely to stick to a program that is easy and fun. Thanks Coach B!

I have been a part of Coach Brandon‘s training since 2018. He’s a one of a kind trainer. Always looking out for the clients best interest. I’ve seen many transformations with his 1 on 1 training programs. The current gym has 24 hour access and is home to many individuals from all walks of life. Definitely a place I would recommend if you want great a great atmosphere , meal plans, training programs, and all the recovering therapy you need to be successful on your fitness journey.

Long Review:
As a lifelong athletic woman, I have always valued movement and fitness. But with my transition from a physically active to a desk-bound career, I noticed significant changes in my body—feeling weaker, dealing with different kinds of soreness, and seeing weight settle in new (not so thrilling) ways.
I wanted to feel strong again and learn to lift heavier weights. However, my history of injuries, including a spinal fusion, along with sprains and other setbacks, made me hesitant to start this journey on my own or in a fast-paced group gym setting where the "trainers" are not all that trained. I knew I wanted a watchful, skilled eye to ensure proper form for my body.
With my wedding two months away, I chose to invest in myself and began twice-weekly sessions with Coach B. My goals were clear: to feel and look strong.
Not only did I achieve these goals and look back now at wedding photos proud of what I see, but my time with Coach B validated my initial concerns.
Coach B prioritized form and safety, which was my expressed priority. We frequently checked in on how each movement felt in the moment—focusing on activating the right muscles and adjusting to ensure they were engaged—and assessed how I felt days afterward to distinguish a "good sore" from one that needed addressing.
Through this experience, I have gained a newfound love for weightlifting and, more importantly, confidence in my ability to work out safely. Thanks to Coach B, I now feel like I can enter any gym, equipped with the knowledge and form to avoid injury and maintain my progress.

Things to love about Coach Bs:
1. His location if you live in North Park
2. His welcoming, easy-going personality and sense of humor
3. His ability to program individually for your needs. Though I was never an especially gifted athlete, I've always enjoyed physical activity, ranging from basketball back in my HS days, adult rec league flag football, my crazy cross-fitting days (SO to a great gym, Mighty CrossFit off Hancock) to more mellowed out days of hiking, tennis and yes, pickleball. The excitement that Brandon brings is in his programming. What I have enjoyed is his technique in building my overall functional strength (my fav thing about CrossFit) but also personalizing workouts to help with my hobbies, even if I'm not going out for a scholarship or veteran contract. We were on a great path to improving speed and agility used on the tennis courts until I broke my foot (Lisfranc) and had surgery (dirt bike related). I've dealt with my share of injuries but never on a weight-bearing extremity so it was great to have the guidance of Coach B. This shifted what workouts looked like everyday showing his ability to adapt to clients' needs. For the past 2 months we've focused on bringing my range of motion back and rebuilding strength not just in my foot but right leg. He has challenged my comfort level but never beyond what I was personally wanted to do and what felt safe (listen to your body!). Even on this new path, workouts never feel like homework or redundant, he's able to utilize hurdles, ladders, medicine balls, etc to keep things fresh and my foot guessing. I'd recommend his gym to anyone if you're an oly lifter looking for a home or a recovering accident prone 'athlete' like me! I guess you can call him the Leonardo DiCaprio of gyms cuz he's got range.

I live in North Park, so I was looking for a gym close to me. I stumbled upon Coach B Performance. Brandon is knowledgeable and helpful with catering to your needs/goals. Gyms can be a bit intimidating, especially getting into it as a newbie. The environment is very welcoming and inclusive; definitely family friendly. I’ve worked out with people with different athletic backgrounds and ages, to beginners like myself.
