This gym is beyond everything that I could ask for. A great staff, great well-kept equipment, and 24 hours accessibility. At the gym is always well-maintained, and you see the staff always cleaning and refilling paper towels. They have a smoothie shop inside the gym, with smoothies reasonably priced. You get what you pay for, and this gym is worth every penny.

Edit: I stopped coming here for a year or so but then decided to rejoin. Not sure what changed from before… I wish the bathrooms were cleaner. The same 💩stain is on the toilet from the day before. Also, there are only 2 stalls in the men’s bathroom and 1 is out of service every other week. 1 stall for men at a gym is insane.

Overall a pretty good gym. Not really too busy, depending on the hours. Front desk staff are usually pretty friendly for the most part. They have a wide range of equipment and there’s an outdoor section as well for better ventilation. Sometimes the gym can get stuffy however, like around noon, and it can get a bit smelly. However it’s to be expected since it is a gym after all. Just wish that there would be a more efficient way to provide fresh air, maybe some air fresheners for instance. Just a suggestion. Overall though not many complaints, and would recommend this gym to anyone.

I gotta say this is a fantastic facility! My friend is a member here and he has invited me with a guest pass a couple times and they have an excellent outdoor area, lots of Boxing equipment, friendly staff overall outstanding! A bit pricier than 24 or LA But honestly seems to be worth it

I’m a 73 year old retired professional and have fitness club benefits under my Medicare insurance plan. I can go to any fitness club I want to at no cost. I choose to go to Coast Fitness because it is convenient, has every type of exercise equipment anyone of any age would need, is always kept clean and is never crowded so you can go through your exercise routine at your preferred pace. The staff are always available and courteous to address any questions or needs.

I've been a member at this Gym going on 5 years now. It is hands down the BEST gym in the South Bay. Very friendly gals working at the front desk. Gym is constantly cleaned and maintained. Top notch equipment of every possible type, including free weights & a HUGE outdoor CrossFit space. Excellent sauna & spa. I don't ever want to leave!!

I've worked out at several different gyms and I always come running back to this one. I've been going to this gym since 2017 and I'm still enjoying it. It has a nice welcoming atmosphere that gets you in the mood for a great workout. Yes, the price has increased over the years but you can actually see the money going into the facility. They're always adding new equipment and they're always finding ways to make the facility better as a whole. They have a stretching area, a cardio area, your cable machines, plate loaded machines, a free weight section, a boxing area, a spin room, some saunas, a Jacuzzi, a leg equipment room, and an outdoor CrossFit area. There is also a protein drink shop in the front for smoothies, healthy refreshers, protein snacks, and acai bowls.

They make it next to impossible to cancel their gym membership. Jerry the despicable owner will do everything he can ruin your credit. if you cancel your membership, he will attempt to ruin your credit. Jerry/Coast Fitness will claim you didn't cancel on time or submit a cancellation form to keep billing you. The key to stop this bully is warn others on social media, complain on Better Business Bureau or take him to small claims court. Please do not go to this losers gym.

The gym is okay. The classes are very cramped and over crowded but what irritates me most is the staff. I put my keys and wallet in a locker and forgot which one. The staff told me she would only attempt to open one locker so I was just supposed to stay stuck at the gym indefinitely.

I really wanted to like this gym because it is a couple of blocks from my home, but after being over charged because I couldn’t come in to cancel my membership after my one year agreement, I get charged for 5 months. When I called they told me I had to come in to cancel, when I go in today she tells me I could have canceled online. I tried to explain why I couldn’t come in, my sister passed from covid. I couldn’t help but get emotional, the very thing I didn’t want to do when I came by to explain, I couldn’t help it, I feel so robbed. I paid for 17 months and I was only able to go a couple of times. I understand the year agreement but I was never notified when the year came. After being a member for one month my card had expired, I was called the next day and charged a late fee.

One of the best gyms out there. One of the only ones to stay open during most of the pandemic and one that listens to its customers. Since joining this gym almost two years ago this gym has added quite a bit of equipment and continues to expand. Although it has a fairly hefty price compared to mainstream gyms, the amenities and community more than make up for it. This gym betrayed its members. Before covid there was definitely a community of people who patronized this gym. I respect that the ownership decided to stay open during the pandemic but they opened the floodgates for all the workout enthusiasts for all of Los Angeles county. The wait times to even touch a machine became ridiculous and that 1.5hr workout that I was used to became impossible. The parking lot is constantly packed and it was just a major inconvenience. Other gyms are opening back up today and I will be looking to spend my money elsewhere. I just hope all the new members stay loyal to coast fitness and don’t go back to their previous gyms so coast fitness can remain the busiest gym on the face of the planet. Good luck.

I love this gym. Been a member for over 3 years. There's always space for you to workout even if a machine is being used you will always find another machine available. They also have new equipment that you won't find at other gyms. This place is huge too. They have an amazing staff along with a hard working cleaning crew. Make sure to bring a towel along with wearing a mask around the staff.

I like that they always have wipes and sprays to clean down your machine. I also love the private women gym for the ladies who get shy around the big boys. Lol. I appreciate the owner for staying open for us members who believe in health and our respiratory system. The people with negative comments should JUST STAY HOME. Coast Fitness does not enforce or require patrons to wear masks or socially distance. I loved the idea that I could workout indoor or outdoor during these times but I couldn't stomach the lack of safety protocols or CDC guidelines.

The comfort that you use to offer you no longer have it. Because you have focused mainly on selling memberships instead of comfort for your members, it has become extremely uncomfortable. Your gym is extremely packed which means machines are not available and therefore I'm unable to enjoy myself at your gym like before. Just know that eventually all gyms will open up again and a lot of your new members will go back to their gyms. Focus on your loyal members that you had before the pandemic.

My Company did over $4000,00 worth of work for this business. We were very polite when calling Jerry (the owner) for money. His account is over 60 days late. when he answered his phone and we asked for payment his response was " I'm too busy to pay you or even talk about paying you because "I'm opening a new business in Kentucky" so we were forced to discontinue service. Today I called to settle up what he owed us and his response was " there is nothing to talk about, you discontinued our service" is this guy really that dumb? I just think anyone considering joining this gym should be very careful with the lack of integrity and honesty displayed by the owner Jerry.

After trying other gyms nearby, LA Fitness, a few Crossfit boxes, and 24 hr... I decided to come back and give it a try. Glad I did. They were upfront with contract options, non-contract, and paid in full memberships (as well as any additional fees), the staff was extremely nice, and it’s almost never that busy (unlike LA and 24 hour fitness).

TONS of equipment and bunch of toys for you to use (tires, outdoor area, turf, sleds, ropes, climbing rope, monkey bars, tanning, massage, etc.).

If you’re in the Hawthorne area or any neighboring city, give them a try.

Great facility. Tons of amenities. A large selection of classes. 24 hours through the week... yet I still have to give a one star...

I texted one of the workers there about adding a family member. I was quoted a price. I accepted the price and walked in and signed my brother up.

My brother is back in school and no longer needs the membership (only used it for 2 weeks). So I inquire to cancel. Little did I know I was locked into a 1 year contract.

1. The person that gave me the price didn't tell me it was a 1 year contract.

2. The person who signed us up (different person) didn't tell us it was a 1 year contract.

I accept responsibility on my end for not reading the fine print, but when I've dealt with these guys before (and I've worked here and in the health industry) I assumed that giving customers a run through on the membership was standard practice ESPECIALLY WHEN SIGNING A ONE YEAR CONTRACT. Just seemed shady and money hungry at the end of the day.

Paying the $99 cancellation fee and cancelling my membership today.
