I have been to CorePower Yoga in basically every county in Southern California, and nothing compares to the ones in Santa Barbara. The classes are actually heated and the humidity is so nice. The teachers are upbeat and work you hard in the best way possible. The classes being very packed has never bothered me as I am still getting such a good workout and everyone is nice and makes room.

By far the best Corepower classes I have ever taken. I love how hot and humid they make the classes, makes you feel like you’re really getting a workout in. The teachers are hard and passionate about what they’re doing. I’ve been to other studios in California and it’s not comparable. Nothing will beat SB. I recommend takings Wills, Andreas, Mannys, and Kristina’s classes.

I am a regular at Yoga Sculpt. The combination of weights, stretch, aerobics and balance make it the all in one exercise class that is unique. There are multi yoga sculpt classes on each day. Each instructor has their own unique style and each instructor changes their routine so the class never gets monotonous. The heat and humidity help loosen body tissues and get the cardiovascular system to work harder. If I want true yoga I would take one of their other yoga classes. I have been to a few core power studios and this is the best one. The staff and instructors know me by name. The energy level and encouragement of the instructors are similar to having a personal trainer. They push me to go harder and longer in a set of exercises than I would ever do on my own. I am surrounded by other participants who are the age of my kids ( and even grandkids if I had any). This type of group makes me work out even harder than if I was with a group of people my own age in their 70’s. One feeds off the energy of others. The showers and lockers are always immaculate, a nice bonus if I am not going directly home. The men’s locker room has 3 showers and a separate rest room from the two rest rooms on the main floor.

Great community and place to reset your mind and body. I've had several instructors, but Valerie is by far the best. She is very friendly and personable, always has the best song tracks, flows that vary from week to week, calming tone to her voice, and hands-on adjustments. All instructors could benefit from taking a class with her to find ways to incorporate these little details into their classes.

Only constructive criticism I have is the floors could be cleaned better between classes. Lots of sweat puddles and they usually just wipe it up with a dry towel, little to no real cleaning takes place.

8/4/24 update: Floors are getting cleaned more thoroughly now which is great and sweat smell post cleanup has improved.

9/22/24: The last few months the temperature and humidity don't seem as high. It also varies too much from week to week. Is this a thermostat issue or setting by the instructor? I've been in C2 classes where the mirror is so fogged up you can't see yourself and others where I barely break a sweat. More consistency would be great.

My favorite of all the CorePowers! Seriously, the teachers here are unparalleled, and the front desk staff is always so nice and accommodating. The locker room downstairs is spacious and the yoga studios are kept as clean as they can be. Big shout out to Alexa, Adam, and Grace who keep me fit and sweaty!

I was excited to try Core Power due to all the good things I've heard and the abundance of classes that are offered. However, my experience has been awful.

First off, as soon as you open the front door, it smells extremely bad and sweaty, like the place hasn't been sanitized in a long time. I would expect a studio of this caliber to take cleanliness/hygiene seriously and keep the place smelling fresh.

This leads me to my next point. They pack the class to the brim like we are sardines. There is literally only 2 inches between my mat and my neighbors, which is very physically uncomfortable. There is no personal space to perform the movements we are told to do. On top of this, the heat is set very high. One time I had to leave class 15 minutes early because I thought I was going to pass out from the high heat and overcrowdedness of the room. Ive done hot yoga before and haven't had this problem at other studios.

The practice of yoga is meant to relax the mind and body. These classes have failed to accomplish that for me and I will not be coming back.

Went to the Saturday morning Sculpt class and the room was so full there was maybe 2 inches between each mat. It was so packed you couldn't even get the full range of motion, not to mention that you'd inevitably brush past your sweaty neighbor. There's no way the amount of people packed into that room is sanitary. I felt disgusting after.

I understand it's a heated yoga class and that the studio is probably trying to make the most profit possible, but they are compromising the health and safety of participants with how full the class was today.

Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because I got a decent workout and the instructor was good, but the overpacked class completely killed the mood.

Spend your money elsewhere and go to a different yoga studio that respects their customers personal space and health.

Went to candle lit class. Said one word to my friend about feeling ill due to the heat. 20 minutes later spoke to my other about feeling light headed again. All was fine until after the class we were rudely approached by an employee and yelled at for speaking during the class. I understand the frustration with speaking within the class however be yelled at after we each payed 30 dollars was not the way to approach the situation. A simple reminder not to talk would have been sufficient yelling at clients is not acceptable in any way. Me and the 4 people I came with will not be coming back.

This is a great yoga studio! Great classes, motivating instructors, clean and modern, locker rooms with provisions in the showers. The app interface is lovely and easy to use. The team provides and excellent experience. It’s a little pricey but def not overpriced.

I love yoga, and the classes they offer are pretty cool, and I enjoyed them a lot, but being a low income, college student, the monthly fee is ridiculous. Even the student discount is too much. It’s a pity, because I would’ve loved to continue my membership, but $150 a month? I’d rather stick w the gym for $70/month.

I haven't taken the time to read the other reviews but I was surprised to see that it has an average of 3.8 because I've been nothing but impressed with this location. I'm doing the First Week Free promotion and have been opting for the Yoga Sculpt class every time, and trying out all the instructors. I was happy with the ease of using the promotion, how friendly the staff always is, and how awesome the classes are. The facility is clean and kept, they always clean the studio immediately after, and the locker room is such a great addition. The instructors have all been really great and I leave feeling like I got a great workout.

I never thought I’d do yoga, but I love it here. I get an amazing workout and then they drop a little jewel in your ear to guide you through your day. Today Chloe told us to carry our strength in everything we do. I usually take Gabby, Andrea’s and Chloe’s sculpt classes and feel amazing after. Stoked I joined!

I have some physical health issues. And Corepower yoga has really helped my body and get me back to decent physical health.

All the instructors are really good and friendly. Yes, it can get a little crowded. So what?

Attempted to go to a 5 o'clock session. Looked on their website for a schedule.
Showed up 15 minutes before the session and the woman at the front desk informed me that they cancelled the class. She was rude and inconsiderate in her tone.

Love CorePower Yoga! It’s the perfect combo of strength training and flexibility. I was looking for a practice that would bring me joy and energy while also working out. Something that could balance my mind, spirit and body. Feeling fabulous both mentally and physically. Whether just starting to explore yoga or if you’ve been practicing for years, they have a variety of classes for all levels. The studio provides an ambience of great energy to grow and explore. I'm definitely hooked!

I was disappointed when I showed up for class and the floor was being “cleaned” with one towel being dragged around. I left because following this “cleaning”, the floor was still covered in other people’s sweat. I promptly cancelled my membership.

This is not yoga. It’s an overpacked gym. I would not be surprised if people have injuries practicing here, it does not encompass the breathing and pace of the natural body. Additionally, Great yoga heats the body from the inside, not artificially by turning up the heat.

They crank up the heat here more than other core power studios. It's the best one I've been to. People have strong practices here which creates awesome energy.

Don’t know any other facility in Santa Barbara that inspires and makes me want to come back. Too pricy - otherwise I’d be a member 365 days a year

Excellent class I was able to try on the free week deal. It was packed for 6 am but a great workout and super chill vibe. I sweat like crazy and would totally try to go back.

Impressive facility and place to get a sweat on. This corporatized yoga chain sells a strong image and lacks authenticity in the instructor and front desk welcome. Class was full, then 1/3 of the students rolled their mats up and left before savasana (which lasted maybe one minute)!

It's a franchise, but you couldn't tell it wasn't cared for like a company store.

nice high ceilings, greeters are very nice. Rack of stuff you can buy in the front, with a nice little waiting area. You can borrow a lock by giving them your id. Water is $2, mats are $1, towels are $1. 2 bathrooms upstairs, and locker rooms are downstairs. everything was stocked very well. I do think all CPY should really redo the actual showers though. Lockers are standard kind, all shampoo, etc, full, class was great, but always varies based on instructor.

This is a branded experience that never disappoints me, and SB branch is no different. Only thing is I'm not from the area, so I didn't know it's in a courtyard. I was a little lost looking for it, but once I saw the sign under the arch, i was like OH!.
