Creed Strength & Fitness is a semi-private personal training gym in Chico, California. Veteran owned and operated by Taylor Catrett, MS, CSCS, USAW, FMS1. Creed Strength is a strength and conditioning facility that specializes in helping people achieve their goals by getting them stronger, more mobile and better conditioned. Training athletes for sport specific performance and mission readiness for first responders is also offered.

Creed Strength & Fitness isn’t just a gym—it’s a community.
After going through multiple leg surgeries (including Achilles lengthening), limited mobility, a stroke, and even lung cancer, I needed a trainer who truly understood the body. Taylor Catrett, the owner, was exactly what I needed.
He’s helped me stay active and strong with smart, safe modifications every step of the way. Taylor knew how to adapt each workout to fit my needs and encouraged me even when I didn’t think I could keep going.
With a Master's degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Strength & Conditioning and certifications like CSCS, USA Weightlifting Level I, and NASM Corrective Exercise, Taylor has the expertise to design effective programs for individuals with all kinds of physical challenges.
What makes Creed even more special is the atmosphere Taylor has created. My 5:30 am crew has become my gym family, always there to cheer each other on and celebrate every bit of progress.

This gym is the best! I have never been good at consistently going to workout at the big fitness clubs that I’ve been an on and off member of my whole life. The semi-private style at creed is the sweet spot for me since I get the personalized support I need in my workout while also getting to exercise in community. Some of the people I have met here have become fast friends and I truly look forward to going to the gym regularly now. This is the first time in my life I have been able to stick with a routine of 3 days a week and am seeing positive results in my body, energy, and my stress levels. Love my gym!!

When I turned 50 I decided I needed to start exercising more. I clicked on a 6 week challenge that came across my FB feed. I then went in and met with Taylor. I signed up for the challenge to make sure I liked the gym and I would actually go. I’m not a gym guy. In fact, I hated the gym. It was always an intimidating place. I never knew what to do and had no idea if I was doing things right. So, with past memberships I’d do to the gym do a couple exercises then run on the treadmill then leave. Then after a month get bored and never go back. Creeds model is different. They have small classes up to about 8 people. I go the same time every day. I have met great people in my class/time-slot that I enjoy seeing every day. I’m an introvert so it’s just enough socializing to feel like I’m part of a group. But not so much that I’m uncomfortable. Taylor programs us for the month. 3 days a week is strength and 2 for cardio. He or another trainer is there to make sure you have good form and provide motivation. I am a lot stronger and healthier now than when I started. Probably stronger than I have been in 20 years. Since joining I have had both my shoulders and my knee fixed. Taylor was able to work in exercises to help me recover and strengthen those areas.
If you’re trying to find a gym where you have a sense of belonging, get personal training/coaching to get healthy this is the place.

I joined Creed nearly two years ago after being a long-time cardio enthusiast and runner with limited experience in weight training. I was looking for a place to learn how to strength train under supervision. This place is exactly what I was looking for. I love the laid back environment, the community of kind hearted people and the knowledge of the trainers. They offer a week trial and although apprehensive before I started, that's all I needed to figure out this was my spot. Thanks Creed!! I have so much more energy and my pain is gone.

Taylor and Colin are knowledgeable, innovative, and understanding. The atmosphere is conducive to newcomers as well as “seasoned athletes”. The gym is very clean and user friendly. Try it out, there are often specials and the culture is friendly to new faces and bodies.

I have never been a gym person until I found Creed. Taylor and his trainers are so very knowledgeable - I feel super supported in my fitness journey. It's a fun and non-judgmental place, full of really kind people. We all get lots of personal attention, which translates to a safe space to push yourself. I've been going for two years and not only have I NOT injured myself there, but when I come in with issues from outside activities, they truly help the healing process. It's SUCH a gem. Highly, highly recommended!

I went in as a beginner, & I do mean that in every sense. Before the 6 week challenge, I didn't know anything about proper form, reps & sets, nutrition & dieting, none of it! Taylor & Parker listen to the individual needs & goals of every member, & they know exactly how to get you to where you want to be. When I was starting my 6 week challenge, I spoke of all of the mistakes I had made in regards to fitness, & the not so healthy relationship I had developed w/ food & dieting. Taylor took my personal goals & crafted me a specialized meal plan w/ the exact portions I would need to see the most progress throughout the 6 weeks. I not only learned discipline in the kitchen, but I was also introduced to foods & recipes I'd never tried before.
Taylor really stresses that the only thing that matters is what you choose to do today! That you learn, grow, & show you're willing to put in the work in & out of the gym. This is unlike any fitness center I've ever been to. The environment is so chill, & every single person on their own journey is also rooting for you. I've never been so sure that I wasn't going to end up on the internet for improper form. Which is something I canNOT say for planet fitness.

I can say my fitness journey has excelled greatly under the guidance of Taylor at Creed Strength & Fitness. I participated in a 6 week program that was well structured in regards to workouts and a diet regimen. I was able to successfully lose 10 pounds within my 6 week time period and I can say I feel great. I was able to walk away with better form and technique, along with an increase in overall strength. I always felt welcomed and confident to push myself in this space, which is important for those who are just starting . Great place to workout! Taylor is super knowledgeable and helped me out a ton with my hip mobility issues. Years of working out and not taking enough care of my mobility left me with some aches and pains that I was having trouble with. Taylor ran me through a mobility movement screen, prescribed specific exercises to correct my issues, and taught me how to properly do the exercises. I highly recommend Creed to anyone looking for a great place to get fit and take care of their bodies.

I’ve been going to this gym for right around two years now. Taylor is an amazing trainer, and has always continuously pushed me to reach my goals. I tore my ACL 8.5 months ago, and I truly couldn’t have recovered without his help. Initially I was set for recovering in 10 months, but he helped to make it only 8.5. He worked with me the whole time even when I first hurt it and was completely restricted, by modifying my workouts and training only my upper body. He shows his enthusiasm for his job everyday, and he is so kind to his clients. He truly can make anyone feel comfortable and ready to get in their best shape!

Creed Strength and Fitness has exceeded my expectations in a gym. Taylor and Colin have been amazing coaches for my two teenagers and myself. The workouts are fun and push us individually. Creed has a wide variety of workouts and modifications for each persons’ individual needs. The environment of the gym is welcoming and friendly. I began working out with Taylor almost five years ago when I was a freshman in high school. I have continued to work out at Creed Strength & Fitness because of the wide range of productive exercises, the extensive knowledge Taylor possesses pertaining to lifting form and kinesiology, and the challenging yet enjoyable workout Creed gives me each day. Throughout high school and four basketball seasons, even if dealing with an injury or before a game, work outs were always modified for the position I was in. I have been training with Taylor (the owner of Creed Strength & Fitness) since 2016. He is extremely knowledgeable, listens to any physical issues I may have and can adjust exercises as needed. After 4 years in the Marine Corps and 20 years as a law enforcement officer, Taylor always has been able to develop workout plans to meet the demands of my profession. Taylor and Colin are extremely knowledgeable and can help with any issue I might be having (back and hip issues). The work out groups are small so you will always get one on one time when needed. Our family loves Creed! Our two teenagers have gained strength, agility, speed and confidence which has helped them have an edge over other athletes they compete against. Taylor is a great trainer who can help anyone, at any level of fitness, improve their strength and stamina. He will teach you to enjoy lifting weights and combines this with cardio and flexibility. I've been working out with Taylor for over a year now and I haven't felt this good in years!! Not only have I lost a bunch of weight, I'm also getting stronger. I love to go hiking and I notice since I've been at Creed, I'm not getting winded as fast as I used to. I go in five days a week normally and enjoy every minute of it. You definitely learn the right way as he works on form from the start. If you have an injury just let him now and he will modify your workout for you. The small class sizes makes it nice so you can get help when you need it. I wouldn't want to workout anywhere else.
