I've been attending classes at this CrossFit gym since 2015 and I can honestly say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health and well-being. The workouts are consistently challenging, and the coaches tailor each workout to my individual fitness level and capabilities. I never feel out of place or left behind — the focus is always on safe progress and personal growth.
The community here is another huge reason I keep coming back. It's a supportive, welcoming group of people who encourage one another no matter your age or experience level. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just starting your fitness journey, you'll find a positive and motivating environment here.

I did not like gyms before I came to this Crossfit gym. And now it's hard for me to go to other Crossfit locations, because I love this particular gym so much. Love the welcoming atmosphere, diversity of regular folks, and expert instruction. Great balance of pushing into excellence while being careful to not go beyond what the body is ready for. This is extremely important to me, as someone sensitive with multiple prior injuries. Love you guys, I've never been fitter!

I’m a huge fan of CF Oakland and the coaching team. I’ve been doing CrossFit for nearly a decade and was recently at a gym in Richmond that imploded (another story). I shopped around and landed at CF Oakland and am so happy I’m here. I plateaued at my previous gym and the built in 1:1 support from Robyn allowed me to gain 10 lbs more of muscle and improve my technique.

I’ve been coming here since 2017 and you’ll find me here 3-5 times a week, always leaving with a smile on my face.
I started with a low to average level of fitness, with no consistent practice or progress. The structure of group classes, the expert guidance of the coaches, and the friendly faces kept me coming back and now at 49, I’m in the best shape of my life.

I had a fantastic experience dropping into a class at CrossFit Oakland while in town for school! Robyn was incredibly kind—she responded to my email questions quickly and greeted me warmly upon arrival. Ben led our workout with excellent instruction, direction, and encouragement, making the class both challenging and enjoyable. The other members were also welcoming and made me feel included right away. I’ll definitely be back for another drop-in next time I’m in the area!

I love CrossFit Oakland! The programming is always spot-on; challenging, varied, and designed to push you to get better every time. The coaches are amazing too; super knowledgeable, fun, and always there to help you through each workout. I usually attend in the evenings so shoutout to Coaches Stef, Ben, and Colin in pushing me to lift heavy! I also really enjoy having such a supportive community and always looking forward to the next class (slightly less if running is involved hehe😅).

I've been going to CrossFit Oakland for 2yrs now. In the beginning, I severely doubted my ability to stick with it, as I am not a gym person, nor had any decent form. But the positivity, the encouragement, all combined with the healthy breakdown and rebuilding (mentally and physically) has been a welcome change in my life. Improving my outlook, how I tackle problems, and how to work on my personal patience and expectations.
At this stage, a key point I've appreciated at CFO is the welcome realization that I have so much more to learn. It's honestly a great feeling. It means I get to keep getting better, and workouts are no longer a slog or just maintenance. All of the coaches contribute to client development in their own unique way, but the overall culture is consistent, fair, and balanced.
Take the time, expect to fail, and do so quickly. Then get back up, and push yourself until you're over the 3 month hump. It is worth it, and this is the place.

I first joined Crossfit Oakland to lose weights and build muscles, plus just to break out from the monotony of working out solo. Since then, CFO not just transformed my physical and mental health, I also gained a group of friends and a community to be part of. The coaches here are the best coaches I ever had: thoughtful, knowledgeable, caring, friendly, and inclusive. I felt welcome and that took away the initial intimidation of cf. Past 30, it didn't occur to me that I could improve and even excel further with my athletic capabilities. Since being here, I was able to lift heavier, stretches better, endures longer. All of this together made me felt proud and happy in other aspects of life. I highly recommend CFO for everyone at all ages and different athletic levels, you'll be able to scale and get a good workout out that makes you feel accomplished!

I’ve been going to this gym for 5 years, and whenever my husband and I visit other gyms when traveling, we can’t help but compare. We love the coaches and the community (despite us being introverts). I cannot emphasize how the coaches also make sure to warm us up correctly, and make sure that we do the movements correctly or modify as needed. Overall, a great gym with great people.

I was in town for some company meetings and dropped in on Crossfit Oakland in Emeryville. The Trainer and the other members were excellent and I got a great workout while I was there. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for. I'll go back for sure.
